Take the bag. Give it to the nasty man. Bring back the kid.
Leathan Wilkey has been hired to make a ransom exchange.
He has the cash, a car, and a phone so the kidnappers can direct him to the location of the exchange for the seven-year-old boy. But it soon becomes clear that there are two groups demanding the ransom, and they can’t both have the kid.
And when Leathan finds the cash that he’s been given might not be what the kidnappers are expecting, he questions whether he’s the bag man or if he’s been sent to draw fire.
Bullets fly and Leathan ducks. When he looks up, he’s the only one who’s concerned that a stray piece of lead might hit the kid.

A novella about a knockaround guy who gets tabbed to give ransom to kidnappers of some kid. Nobody seems all that concerned about the kid. He delivers the ransom--very bad counterfeit money to the wrong people, and finds himself embroiled in a serious situation.
Want to know if people will like a series? Write a novella to introduce the character. Great idea! Leathan is hired to deliver a ransom to recover the child of a very rich CEO. Only one problem. Okay maybe more than one. The people that are demanding the money don't even have the kid. And the money is fake. On top of that, nobody else seems to care that the child could be in serious danger except Wilkey. I definitely want to read more in the series.
Leathan Wilkey is good at finding people. He is hired to find a small boy who has been kidnapped. The mother is extremely wealthy, and doesn't seem overly concerned, like a normal parent. The only person showing any concern for the child's safety and return is Leathan. Fast paced with a cliffhanger ending.
This is a story of a man who is hired to be the bag man, to deliver the money in exchange for little boy. But things go wrong when bad guys try to steal from the kidnappers! Well written, crazy characters, and a fun read.
Not on Kindle Unlimited, got it free as part of a small bundle when signed up for his email, one of those here's freebies hope a few of you review it. Definitely a gritty type of story, made me think of hmmm the film noir type detective shows back when. Figure there might be a second story as the case wrapped up, sorta but not.
