I had to DNF this book because I got so scared reading about Abigail’s ex-fiancé, Paul and anytime he hurt her.

But I loved Abigail/Abby becoming braver and talking more to the MMC, Matteo, the sweet, pinning doctor.

Best quotes: His kiss made her feel like she wasn’t broken, like the tattered fragments of her being could be rewoven into something deserving. She grasped him tighter, holding on to that hope with all of her might.”

Look at me, Abby,” he said. She peeked one eye open and he chuckled, running his finger down her cheek. “Whatever happens from this point on, I want you to understand something.” She nodded. “Nothing can change the way I feel about you, okay?” Mateo pulled her in for a hug and she leaned into his shoulder, enjoying the peace that came with being by his side. The kiss hovered above them like a cloud of questions without answers, but Abby didn’t feel like bringing reality into their bubble. They could explore what that moment meant another time. For now, she just wanted to rest. Eventually, she drifted off to the rhythm of Mateo’s heartbeat. 💓”

“For the first time, Abigail felt herself stretching toward a life boat, wanting to reach shore. Drowning in an ocean of bitterness, regret and hurt had done too much damage. She’d swallowed too much of the salty water. Paul was pushing down on her head and dunking her beneath the waves to save his own skin.”

Abigail and Mateo - Together At Last

I’d give 100 stars for this book! It was exciting, nerve recking, passionate, loving, sincere. That’s Abigail and Mateo. Like the song At Last. Even after 10 years, the love was there. Domestic violence was evident all thru this book. Paul and Abigail’s father were disgusting, they were bullies. They didn’t love or respect Abigail and treated her like their servant, like she didn’t have a mind of her own. She was being forced to marry Paul, who was abusive, so that her father could continue to be a big wig. A must read!

The love sick series

I love this series as it was so well written. The laughter, emotions and the love fulfilled by Thea three couples . Each couple's story touched your heart in relation to the world's reality.
Any person who is involved in domestic abuse, don't be afraid to seek help. That's a punk and coward who tries to control another individual.
The family dynamics of these couples was held by a very strong bond envied by many. You would love them all, page -by-page but my favorite is between Melissa and Nick. A well deserved read series 💕

Whew!

It took me forever to read this book. This seemed to lull on ,and on I wanted to finish it so I stuck with it to get it done. Whew. It came together towards the end , but not without leaving some questions. Why did it take two years before they got married? How did Abigail and her father come to find middle ground? Did Mateo finish his residency? Is he and Jamal still friends? So many things left undone.

Great ending to a series.

I love this series. I wish it didn't end. Mateo's and Abigail's story was great. I would have never thought any of this story would be how the author put them together. I know this seems like the last book in the series but maybe the author will take pity and do a book for Santi as well as let us know what their birth mom Maria is up to.

Happiest endings!

It has been a pleasure to see the love blooming in this series. Nia is an amazing storyteller and I was rooting for Mattie & Abby from book 2, Dance. Another sweet romance here, I totally recommend Trust and the entire Lovesick series!
