Kyle Issac is a player in the biggest of ways. He’s not into relationships. Fun is all he wants, but one night with his sister’s best friend changed him in ways he can’t explain. Maybe because she was the only girl who turned him on and then shot him down. Maybe because she’s off limits in a way that has him wanting more of her. He’s not sure but something definitely changed and now he’s looking for another chance to even the scoreboard. He’s got one summer to do it.

Emily Emerson is not a relationship type girl like her best friend Madison Issac. However after her newest fling gone wrong, she’s starting to realize the fun carefree way Em is lost. Maybe a relationship is the kind of thing she needs to get herself out of this funk. But Kyle Issac, her forever crush is not going to be it. The longest he’s dated a girl was a weekend tops. How can she find someone though if Kyle is always there butting in? So, she turned him down three times, she figured he’d get over it and move on. Apparently not.

With wants and doubts confusing her, one question Does Kyle really want her or is she just another game for him to win?

Kyle is such a keeper - tough but loving, he is determined to get to the bottom of the changes in Emily's mood. He's known her for so long that he can tell when she isn't herself, and knows that something terrible must have happened to make her so skittish around him. He figures that it has to do with a man, one who was abusive, and vows to take him down. Meanwhile, Emily works through her fears and guilt over what has happened as she realizes that she wants more than a one night stand with Kyle. The chemistry is real, the sex is hot, and Kyle's sense of humor can't help but bring a smile to the reader's face in the midst of all the seriousness. Great story!

Decent book

I liked both of the main characters, Kyle and Emily. The whole book seemed to be about how much they liked each other but thought the other one didn't and getting angry about it. There was a really intense abuse scene from one of Emily's flings that ended up stalking her which is definitely uncomfortable. However, I did enjoy the story overall. All of the characters from the previous books played a big part since they all went on vacation with each other. I would recommend this book for ages 16 and up. There are a lot of sexual themes in the book but no explicit details.

This is the first book I've read by this author. I did the read/listen option with KU and I loved the narration on this one. I thought Kyle and Emily were great. Sometimes the narration can make or break a story for me. I started with book 3 of this series and I'll definitely have to go back and read/listen to Maddie and Bryce's story as well as Sara and Graham's story. I really liked this close band of friends and family.

Kyle and Emily have grown up with each other and have always liked each other, but kept each other at a distance because of Maddie. Emily was Maddie's best friend and Kyle was Maddie's brother. When Emily comes back home for the summer battered and broken, her friends want to know what has happened to the fierce outgoing girl they all knew. Kyle will stop at nothing to protect Em and make her his.

I liked the story and I liked the banter between all of the friends. My only hang up was Emily's back and forth with Kyle. I wanted to shake her a few times. But I really enjoyed the story and will be going back to get to know the gang from the beginning.

This was an enjoyable read. This was the best book of the series in my opinion. I thought the suspense added to the romance was really intriguing. I really liked how they brought a stalker into the storyline. Also, Kyle and Emily we're very good characters. I thought they were relatable. They have known each other for so long and have pushed their feelings aside for Maddie’s sake. However, this book showed me how much they truly loved each other and I thought that was sweet. I thought the ending was great. I was happy to see all of the other characters and laughed when they banter. I can't wait to read more Natalie Decker books. Overall, a great read.

I had mixed feelings about Kyle. The dominating plot is the relationship between Kyle and Emily, but then the underlying theme is Emily learning to deal with a stalker and the social anxiety she gain from that. I feel like these should've been flipped. Like sure, love concurs all, and all that, but I feel the book miss out on a lot of depth to the story in doing this.

Though, I do admit that I loved the interaction between Kyle and Emily. They are sweet and witty, and it's just a whole bunch of cute, will-they-won't-they moments (even though you know that they will eventually).

And as per the usual with these player turn relationship man kind of novels, Kyle has the emotional range of a teaspoon initially, and is immature in his approach to dealing with these new feelings that he is having for Emily. Like, it's kind of cute watching him trying to deal with it, but at the same time, I just want to whack him upside the head and yell, MAN UP!

But, yeah. Props for making me feel invested in your characters, Decker.

I'm not sure how I feel about the ending. We were just happily cruising along with the plot, thing progressing nicely, then BAM! It goes from about 20 to 100 with a chapter. I mean, I know that all the conflict had to come to a head, but damn, it took a dark and twisted kind of turn that I was just not prepared for. So guess, it does get point suspense.

Kyle is a book for those looking for a sweet love story with a dash of some serious, real-life issues thrown in.

Kyle came off as a nice guy the whole book. I was worried because he isn’t talked about in the manner in the other books, besides that him and his sister are close. I’m not believing that Emily wouldn’t even tell her best friend about what happened in college especially if she feels like he is falling her.

This was my favourite in this series and I want more...even though I'm pretty sure it's over.

I never really liked Kyle in all the other books, but he more than made up for his asshole behaviour in this book.

This series Scandalous Boys by Natalie Decker is three books about three different boys and their rough sides. The series is a little bit on the rougher side but still entertaining.
