I broke my own rules for him. For one mind-blowing, toe-curling night. Now he’s back, and he wants all of me. He wants to know all my deep, dirty secrets. He won’t stop until he’s stripped me bare.
I never thought I’d see him again, especially not in this sleepy little town. He’s not a SEAL anymore, but otherwise he’s just as tall, dark, and dominating as I remember.
I can see the hunger in his eyes. It makes me want to surrender, to submit to his desires. I want his hard, sculpted body pinning me down, claiming me as his property.
Then, he moves in next door.
Perfect, right?
Except I need to stay away from him. He's completely, non-negotiably off-limits, even if he says he wants to protect me, even if I crave his intoxicating touch.
He’s not supposed to be here. There shouldn’t be any trace of my old life left.
This is a full-length standalone novel of approximately 70,000 words. No cheating, no cliffhanger, and a guaranteed happily ever after!
This was my second book by Nikki Chase and I liked just as much as the first one.
Jessica is a stripper working towards a better life when she meets Jacob a former Seal when he gets her away from one of his jerk friends at the club that's when Jessica breaks her cardinal rule and hooks up with a customer only to leave before Jacob wakes up.
Jessica has to completely up root her life do to helping the police with a murder. She she leaves town immediately and changes her look until one day years later Jacob literally bumps right into her again. At first Jessica freaks out thinking he's spying on her but, when stuff starts happening he's the one to protect her and that's where the fun begins, lol.
I enjoyed the banter between Jessica and Jacob a lot. Jacob was kinda goofy and I loved it!!
★★★½ Jessica and Jacob first meet at a strip club where she works. They spend an exciting night together that ends with a promise of something more lasting, but are separated by circumstances. When they meet again after three years, their chemistry sparks up. And this time, Jacob is more than prepared to not let Jessica slip away again.
There are some obvious fights, push and pull initially. However, the chemistry between them is impossible to deny. I absolutely loved how persistent Jacob is, even picking up fights with her just so he could ensure her safety. Their story is well-written, entertaining and fast paced. The mystery, even though the identity of the perpetrator really surprised me, I would have liked for it to be more thrilling. It is engaging but not gripping enough. I suppose it is the romance and steam factor that takes precedence to the actual mystery.
Also, while I expected a somewhat steamy romance, the entire dom-sub aspect, to be blunt, bothered me. In any case, I’m not holding that in anyway relevant to my rating. What really got to me is that Jessica who is supposedly in hiding from a murderer would have so little self-preservation. One minute she doubts that Jacob might be in cahoots with her pursuer but the next moment that thought takes a back seat to her lust. Then, when she gets threats she still doesn’t bother with more safety measures. Jacob has to constantly remind her to be safe, fix her locks and everything else, which annoyed me a little. Even when she does realise the danger she’s in, she still let her emotions get the best of her. Still, the characters are well-built, funny and cute. And the fact that I read this book in a matter of hours gives credence to the author’s skill.
My thanks to the author for providing me with a copy of this story in exchange for an honest review.
Jessica meets Jacob at the strip club she works at, he saves her from one of his Navy Seal buddies who's a bit more handsy and rude than he should be. Meeting her in the parking lot after her shift they end having a hot night together. He wants to see her again before he gets deployed again a week's time, but she's gone when he wakes in the morning, he feels ghosted, he never forgets her. Fast forward a few years Jacob finds Jessica on the side of the road in a small town with car troubles he takes this sign of fate and runs with it, after the shock of the runion wears off Jessica reluctantly accepts his help. Jacob is going to find out what happened and why she left him high and dry, she isn't forth coming for info, so what does any sane man do? Move into the empty place next store of course!! Quickly he realizes Jessica the now high school teacher has secrets, and she may be in danger, whether she likes it or not he isn't leaving her stubborn side This book! I tell ya I couldnt help but laugh, they were either fighting, eating or having sex..... LOL In my perfect world they would have been eating tacos but hey that's just me.... So I loved Nikki Chase's first book, and I gotta say I love this one too, Jacob cracks me up! He's all brooding and being the tough guy when you know he's the big dumb softy who realizes after the fact oh yea probably should have been concerned about the dog and not the guy selling Vitamins..(basically my husband) Awesome read excellent plot twist!! Rounded out with a Great HEA I am looking forward to reading more great books From Nikki Chase in the Future! I voluntarily Read an advanced readers copy of this book
Usually whenever I see books with "Bad Boy Romance" in the title, most of the time I get disappointed after reading them because the main character doesn't live up to its name. But when I read Stripped by Nikki Chase, I told myself, "finally!" a real bad boy that I'm gonna hate to love and love to hate. Yes, Navy Seal Jacob is as bad to the bone as he gets and more!
Jacob met Scarlett three years ago in a strip club and had one night stand. Somehow, of all the ladies he's been with, only Scarlett left a mark in his mind but he was aggravated when Scarlet just took off and never showed again.
Three years later, Jessica Lake had found new beginning and new life in a quaint and quiet little town of Ashbourne. Nobody knew about her name Scarlet nor her stripping days, except her bestfriend Tony. She couldn't take the chance of revealing about her past, because for sure it would come back haunting her, not after what happened that one tragic night, involving her friend Nancy Jones.
This book had been all sorts of action, suspense, mystery and bits of comedy rolled into one. I liked how the characters geld and blend with each other, I liked the spark between Jacob and Jessica, I liked their stupid fights and un-neighborly interaction. I liked how bad boy Jacob could be, whether in bed or on his Harley Davidson. And I liked how the mystery unfolded in the end, very shocking and surprising, because the culprit would never be the one you guessed. Nikki Chase kept me up with Stripped and that's a good thing in my book.
When they say neighbor romance, I'll always gonna dive into the book. This is the second book by Nikki Chase that I read and I like this one way more than the first one. I wasn't expecting much from this one, but I was really into it since the first chapter. I have never read about a stripper before and I really like the way she talk about Jessica and her life. Also about how was Jacob's life as a civilian. My father and my grandfather served in the navy of our country and I know how is for people like them to get use to civilian life. They're used to do things in their way and, just like Jacob, they think that they're the ones right...until my mom and my granny say what they think. ;) Navy men are quite a thing.
I like both characters, I really like their stories and how they found a way to solve everything the best they could. I really like their love story and how was her the one giving him all sort of problems. I really like the plot and the writing style. Way more than in first book(one that I DNF). So know I want more of her book!
Jessica and Jacob first meet and have a night of great sex at the strip club she worked at. Fast forward three years and she is now a teacher who Jacob rescues on the side of the road with a broken down car. Reuniting in the small town might sound great but throw in death threats, break ins and the poisoning of her dog and you have this great read. The chemistry did not lose its spark and Jacob rescues her in more ways than one. It was a rags to riches story that I would recommend to anyone looking for a happily ever after.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book
Scarlett is working as a stripper to help pay her mom's medical bills, When one night a group of military guys come in and one of them wont let her go no matter what she says to him (and he creeps her out some) One of the guys with him steps in and stops him, The guy who saved her is GORGEOUS, That night when Scarlett leaves her shift she just happens to bump into her savior and hooks up with him When she sees one of the other dancers get murdered by the club owner she goes to the police and testifies against him, Now her life is in danger. she goes on the run with the victims mom. Jacob is a Navy SEAL out with a few buddies before being deployed again, He has to step in when one of his buddies is harassing one of the dancers, and she is stunning, Scarlett has long red hair and a body to die for. Fast forward a few years and Jacob has been discharged, He has a few anger issues and cant hold down a job so he started working for himself doing computer security, and crossing the country on his bike. When he comes across a stunning woman broke down on the side of the road he stops to help, He realizes it is the woman Scarlett, the one night stand that left before he woke up, the one he could not forget, Oh she looks different and acts like at first she doesnt remember him but he knows she does. This book has it all a great story, with action, humor, a HOT ALPHA male and steamy sex LOVED it
Jessica stripped to help pay for school and her mother. She meets Jacob one night and they have a great evening but she receives bad news and takes off. Things happen at her club that causes her to head out of town. Years later he rescues her on the side of the road. She's hiding out from Stan. I wondered why she didn't try to change her name. Stan knew her real name from the trial. At times I felt the H and h were being immature but then you have to remember neither one of them had ever been in a relationship. I felt Jessica whined a lot. One minute she says to heck with Jacob but then she says he comforts her. Too much back and forth. The mystery of who was behind Jessica's troubles was not who I thought. I did get suspicious when Jessica got the call about the dish but I thought Christine was calling to get info to leak to Stans people. I'd still like to know about the connection between Nancy and Caine.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I would love to give this a 5 star rating, but I felt I couldn't really connect with the characters so I gave it a 3.5 at first, but the story-line was phenomenal so this definitely is a 4 star read. The suspense was there, the romance was pretty darn cute and I loved the cameo of Caine Foster!
Jessica is an dancer -- stripper. She left her job after a friend was found dead. She moved away running from her past and found a job teaching. I admired Jessica because she didn't let her job define who and what she was to an extent. She was bold, smart, hardworking and knew what she wanted out of life. I loved watching her walls break down when it came to Jacob. Jessica was definitely fierce and quick with the mouth. I enjoyed her.
Jacob is an ex Navy seal and one hell of a man. I loved him from start to finish. He is so damn sexy! I loved his dominance from the first page to last. He was strong and knew how to keep things interesting. He definitely had a temper, but for some odd reason it didn't irritate me as a reader. Jacob was the perfect guy for this story.
The romance was pure bliss. The two met 3 years prior when Jessica was a stripper and they had one accidental night of fun. Jacob fell in love with her, but she ran away due to work and family issues. They meet once again, but this time Jacob holds no bars and Jessica tries to deny her feelings. There was no denying the spark between them -- they had a strong attraction to one another both physically and sexually. Jacob was dominating and Jessica was comfortable enough submitting to him. I loved them as a couple and as neighbors who bickered a lot with one another.
Now, Jessica had a stalker, but she thought it was her old boss, however it was someone much more closer to her and totally unexpected. I mean the reason behind this stalker trying to get rid of her was beyond dumb as heck! It pissed me off, but I love the Jacob saved and protected Jessica.
Overall, this was a good read and I definitely recommend it if you're looking for something fun, quick, and sexy to read with a hint of mystery and suspense to read.
Jessica is an ex stripper rebuilding her life in a small town where no one knows of her past. Jacob is an ex Navy Seal that comes to her rescue when her car breaks down on the highway. Through a lot of wading through painful memories, pages and pages of internal dialogue, daytime fantasies, nighttime sensual dreams, Jessica and Jacob build a relationship that is tested when outside threats endanger her life. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book. Four stars.
Great storyline I like the twist and turns how the author had the story going one way then surprises the reader into another way. But I did feel some of the story needed more telling maybe a second book.
This was a really great book.Love the story line and the intense love scenes. The author knows how to keep your interest and makes you feel like you're in the story.👍👍👍👍
I was given this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book is about Jessica who used to be a stripper to put herself though college and help with her sick mother. She always wanted to be a teacher.so she worked hard to make that happen. While she was stripping she never went out with any of the customers, except for one night. She was giving this guy a lap dance and he was creeping her out, when she tried to pull away he would not let her go, his friend stepped in and saved her. He was just her type and she decided she wouldn't mind hooking up with him after work.
Later that night when she was headed to her car she went out the back door and her Mr. Hottie was standing there. They talked for a little bit then left. That one night stayed with both of them for a few years.
She witnessed her boss strangling one of the girls she worked with. They were a couple and it was not the first time she had seen him being that way towards her. She told her that if she ever needed help to let her know. Well, one day she helped her and when she got home she realized she was gone and there was a blood trail from her room out the door. Jessica called the police and they found her dead at her boyfriend's (Jessica's boss's house). They had him arrested and with Jessica's testimony she helped put him in jail. But, during the trial he mouthed to her that she was in for it.After that she cut her hair and dyed it and moved.
Jacob loved the night he had with Jessica but he only knew her as her stripper name. He woke up the morning after their night and she was gone. He went back to the strip club the next weekend and watched her dance then while he was waiting on her to come out onto the floor she had left. He had anger management problems and had a hard time keeping a job ever since he got out of the military. But, one of his friends taught him about foreign trading. Something he could do from anywhere. So he bought a motorcycle and took off traveling across country. He would stop in small towns for a day or so then move on. He was looking for something but he didn't know what.
He found it when he decided to stop in one small town. As he was driving down the road he say a car on the side of the road and a woman waving him down. When he stopped he knew who that woman way even though she had shorter and a different color hair he knew it was her. She was very evasive and didn't want to tell him much. She wanted her past in the past. She thought at first that maybe her ex-boss had sent him for her.
Jacob decided that now that he found her he was not going to let her go again. Even though she fought him on them getting close he was not going to give up on her. Then strange things started to happen, and it caused her to give in and tell him about herself. Even though he had a lot of facts due to his buddy digging into her life for him. But, he decided to start staying at her house to protect her.
I am not going to tell you what happens next, that is up for you to find out when you read the book.
But here are some questions for you that you can answer while you are reading.
Who was the one messing with Jessica?
Does Jessica finally give in and let herself be happy with Jacob? Or does she get to scared and run again?
If you have Kindle Unlimited you can read it for free. It is a good book, full of mystery. You will wonder who in the world is doing all of these things to her and you will never in a million years guess who it is.
Stripping is just an "illusion" of sharing oneself.
This is another great romance written b Ms. Chase. Complete with one very hot, but very pissed off Dominant Alpha male, Jacob, and smokin' hot, a little kinky, but also tender, erotic love scenes. The story involves Jessica aka Scarlett trying to hide from her past for two reasons. One is to save her life and the other is to simply be accepted as a member of what is considered as "normal" society. Jacob first saw her as Scarlett the stripper and for years the night they spent together was burned in his memory. And so as the fates allow, they meet each other again. She is literally a damsel in distress on the side of a deserted road. She is hiding in a small community and is a local teacher, having earned her credentials while stripping. Their chemistry is explosive and as suspicious a she is about Jacob, she simply could not deny his beautiful Dominant male seductive enticement. The steamy scenes are wonderful, exciting, and very, very...one more...very enjoyable. Ms. Chase also has something to say about strippers and erotic dancers as well. I think I caught some symbolism commenting on this subject with the lake? It seems an erotic dancer gives little of herself to her audience. Ironically while baring her body to the audience, she let's none of her real person or emotions show, often relying on tricks like eye contact to earn more tips. It is through the safety and strength of love and acceptance that she openly shares who she really is. "There’s a big crowd watching us, but everything fades away in this moment. I'm not performing for an audience; I’m giving my favorite people a glimpse into my life, so they can see how happy Jacob makes me." One of my last takeaways from this story is the idea that perhaps we need not be so judgemental of the erotic dancer. It's a job and the smart ones keep it professional. We my even be surprised at who we may know that has done this before...and come on who hasn't fantasised about holding the imaginations of an audience in the undulations of your perfect stripper's body?!
I was provided a copy of the book by the Author for and honest review.
Love it, love it I couldn't put the book down I wanted more. I felt in love with this book and their characters, when I started reading it I though great another stripper book but once I pass the first chapter I felt in love and couldn't put the book down. I love how the book end it that's why I am goin too keep this short.
Jessica is a stripper but not by choice she is stripping to pay for her mother hospital and treatment and for school. One night while she on the floor she gets approached by a man when she tell him to leave her alone his not listening that's when the friend step in. When she is ready to go home she walks outside and bumps into the man that help her he introduce himself as Jacob they end up having a one night stand.
Now three years later Jessica live in a small town and its a high school teacher she loves her job and the life that she has so far. Now she is strand it in the middle of no where and her car not working but out of no where a man show up in a Harley Davison when he takes his helmet off she is surprise to see that man is Jacob. After three years of dreaming of Jessica Jacob cant believe that he found her. But what they both don't expect is for their life to turn up side down, and Jessica past to start catching up with her but Jacob will do everything he can to protect her.
I love the way how Jacob and Jessica are with each other, love their attitude and their Sex Scene are Hot.
I really love and enjoy reading this book Author Nikki Chase THANK YOU for introducing me to this awesome characters and this amazing book love it.
Three years ago, Jessica was a stripper who danced under the name of Scarlett. She needed money for college and to pay for her mom's medical bills. Scarlett just danced and never did any more with customers until Navy Seal Jacob walked in. Between them sparked an instant desire and Scarlett decided to act on it. They had a very passionate encounter but when the morning came, Jacob woke up and Scarlett was gone. Jessica's mom needed her and she had to go. Jacob looked for Scarlett but he was soon posted overseas. Jessica's life got crazy. Her mom died of cancer, her stripper best friend was murdered by the club owner who was her boyfriend and she had to testify. In fear for her life, Jessica and her friend's mom disappeared to be safe for the club owners men. Jessica becomes a teacher in a small town. One night her car breaks down and her phone is dead and she is trapped on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. A motorcycle pulls up and to her surprise it is Jacob. He recognizes her and offers to fix her car. Jessica is nervous because she is afraid Jacob might be working for the man who wants her dead. Jacob left the Navy after all the hard stuff he saw. Life in the states is hard since he stands up for people who are being picked on or abused. When he angers customers, he is fired. Now he does computer on his own and rides around the country on his bike sleeping with any woman who catches his interest. All the women mean nothing and the only one he remembers is Scarlett. He is thrilled to see her again and hopes to continue where they left off. He doesn't understand why Jessica is so cold or angry with him. This is a great book! Jacob is a great protector and it is fun watching him go all out to get Jessica. The sex is very hot. I voluntarily received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.
I was absolutely hooked on this book by Nikki Chase, i couldn't put it down till i was finished. This book tells the story of Jessica, who's a teacher now, but worked as a stripper to pay her mom's medical bills & to go to college, where she witness another stripper being manhandled by her bf, the owner of the strip club. One night she meets Jacob, a Navy Seal who's getting deployed in a week & spends a hot sexual night with him. He would like to see her again, but the next morning she's ghosted him. She leaves such an impression on him, that he can't forget her, she's always in the back of his mind through the years. Jacob never stays in one place for long & when he's on the outskirts of a small town, he sees a woman next to a broken car, which to his surprise it Jessica! Al though Jessica also never forgot that night that she's spend with him, she feels she can't really get attached to anybody, as she's hiding & running from something from her past... This book is not just about the sex, although it's hot, but also contains suspense, romance, a hot sexy hunk etc. I really enjoyed this book!

Stripped is a look into one woman’s journey of reconciling a future with her past. Jessica Lake is trying to outrun the life that was mired in lap dances, groping men, and seedy, dark corners, which ultimately ended in the abusive death of a fellow stripper. At a time when her life was the lowest, Jessica turns to stripping to provide enough ready cash to help with her mom’s cancer treatments. She also finds, for one night, solace and safety in the arms of Jacob, a young Navy Seal on his way to a mission in Afghanistan.
Now three years later, striving for normalcy as a highschool teacher, Jessica loves her new life. But she’s still wary over the aftermath of the trial surrounding the death of Nancy Jones, her friend from the Pussy Cat. While in the small town of Ashbourne, Jessica needs to hide that identity is more important than ever. But happenstance brings Jacob roaring back in her path. Muscled, tattooed, and dripping with bad boy attitude, Jacob still has the ability to make her body remember that lust-filled night years ago.
Jacob never forgot Scarlett, that one unforgettable night of passion was a memory that’s haunted him while on mission. Luck is on his side, though, when he finds her real identity. They dance around their attraction, and Jessica runs hot and cold, but the chemistry is undeniable. And now Jacob is never letting her go.
Stripped is packed with a bit of mystery, suspense, and lots of sizzling monkey love. Jacob is a sexual dominant so you’ll find some FSOG in there, too. Clocking in at 533 pages, it’s long, plenty of subplots to deter you from who’s trying to harm Jessica and you’ll never guess until the end. This is the second book I’ve read from Ms. Chase who manages to instill in us the message of never slut shaming erotic dancing or stripping. The abundance of ready cash may be the difference between going hungry, overwhelming medical bills, to providing college tuition.
I received and voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
A Review of Stripped: A Bad Boy Romance by Nikki Chase
Jessica and Jacob - 5 stars
When we first meet Jessica, she is working at a strip club and goes by the name of Scarlett. She is working at the club to put herself through school and to take care of her mother, who is currently in remission from cancer. Jacob happens to be part of a group that she is dealing with, where one of the guys is getting a little too aggressive with her. He steps in and breaks up the conflict so she can go on about her way.
He happens to be outside taking a smoke break when she leaves the club and she ends up going home with him, which is a first for her, as she never deals with customers outside of the club. Since Jacob is getting ready to ship out in a couple of weeks, he wants to spend as much time with her as he can. Little does he know, it will be the last he sees of her.
Three years later, we find Jessica in a new town, where she works as a teacher at the local high school. Over the course of the book, we find out what happened to cause her to be in this new town and why she is always looking over her shoulder. Turns out that her boss (Stan, the owner of the strip club that she worked at) killed her co-worker and friend Nancy, and she was part of the reason he ended up going to prison. But he definitely sent word to her that she was on his hit list when she least expected it.
There were a lot of twists and turns in this book, but it was basically a good love story that took a few wrong turns before making it back to the right track. When Jacob shows up out of nowhere, by accident, and helps her, he is determined that she will not ghost on him this time. There was also a tie in with the previous book this author just put out, so it was interesting to see how she tied them in. Looking forward to more works by this author.
**Honest review voluntarily provided from a Complimentary Copy**
I liked the story, stripper turned teacher. It's an old profession that has been something many women have done in order to pay for school or to finance other things in their lives. Many women have grown to be consummate professionals. Jessica was one of those women. The danger she was in was palpable, and that part of the book had me on the edge of my seat. The sex was hot and unforgettable for not just the reader but obviously the characters as well. Though some of the thoughts Jessica shared were a little out there, I understood. She was in constant danger. And I loved that I had no idea who it was until the end. There's nothing worse than a predictable story line, and this one did not have that.
That being said, though Jacob was a hot alpha dominant in the bedroom, I found him to be a bit too angry and maybe whiny outside the bedroom. He was consistently rude in so many ways. I get that he was one of those men who believed he was right all the time, but he never just took a moment and listened. He jumped to conclusions and took things too far a lot. And I was surprised that some of the smaller jobs he'd held were even mentioned after being a Navy SEAL. There really was no point except to show that he had anger issues. I would be afraid, as a submissive, that those moments would leak through in the bedroom. Something about his character just rubbed me the wrong way.
I loved the ending. As I said, I was surprised by where the threats were coming from, and tried to draw conclusions throughout the read. I was pleasantly surprised. And I like all of the heartfelt feelings that the characters finally realized. I've read several of this author's works and was more impressed with her other novels. I liked this one. It simply wasn't as realistic as I would have liked it to be from the male POV. It may be a matter of practice, because the other novels I've read, by her, are much better.
This is a great read by Nikki Chase. It involves Jessica who is a stripper. She goes by the name of Scarlett which suits her with her beautiful red hair. No one knows her by her real name and she is not going to give her real name out. She is only working as a stripper to help pay her mom's medical bills. Her mother had cancer and survived yet now she gets sick alot and doesn't tend to herself as needed. She runs into Stan, the owner of the club and Nancy, another stripper in the dressing room and knows that something is not right. Nancy is terrified and Scarlett knows she needs to say something. Then we have Jacob who spots Scarlett at the strip club and wants to be with her. Scarlett is also drawn to Jacob and she does not do as the other girls and have a one night stand with any of her clients yet she may have to go against what she normally does and spend a night with Jacob. After their one night stand Scarlett's mom gets really sick and she has to spend time with her. Also something happens at the club that has her running for her life afterwards. She moves to a small town called Ashbourne where no one knows about her past and she gets her dream job of being a teacher. Then one day Jacob decides to move around and one of the towns he is going to visit next is Ashbourne only to run into Scarlett, even though she changed her hair color and it has been 2 years he knows it is her, although she is now going by a new name, Jessica. This book is packed with adventure afterwards, she gets a threatening letter in the mail, her dog is poisoned and then an attack on her. Does someone from her past know where she is? This just started when Jacob came to town, does he have something to do with it? Will she find who is threatening her life before they end up taking it? Great read!
*I voluntarily read a Review Copy of this book. All opinion stated are solely my own and no one else's*
Stripped a Bad Boy Romance by Nikki Chase was an intriguing read and I enjoyed it.
Jessica works as a stripper and has rules about hooking up with customers. The bottom line is that dating customers is a disaster waiting to happen. A girl can let loose sometimes - so Jessica finds herself having a naughty, dirty yet passionate one night stand with Jacob.
Jacob was drawn to Jessica from the moment he set eyes on her at the club. One night with her wasn't enough; the sex was mind blowing but she skips town and he hasn't seen her since. Jacob drifts from place to place, never quite fitting in but that changes when he stops for a lady, standing by the roadside with a broken down car. She looks familiar - the day just got better.
I loved Jacob; he's sexy yet rough around the edges but it's his need to dominate during sex that has your mouth watering. When he takes her to a restaurant and asks her to remove her panties in exchange for sharing information - I think my ovaries exploded lol - he couldn't get anymore sexier lol. He's mischievous, naughty and controlling; he wants her to submit to him and he plays dirty to get the job done.
Jessica was headstrong yet stubborn and although I liked her feistiness; she became overbearing at times. She literally drools and ogles Jacob - can't say I blame her lol.
The characters were great and complemented each other beautifully. The story is full of suspense and keeps you eagerly flipping through the pages but the surprise at the end was definitely unexpected.
Skipped a lot of the parts. Mainly because of the build-up of one conflict only to be diffused so quickly by another misleading build-up of a possible conflict. Get it?
We have the murder suspect who was IMPLIED to want revenge, and then a wild card character that popped out of nowhere. We got the meeting of both characters that intersected with the h and both story lines were immediately resolved.. to give way to a totally unpredictable (IN A BAD WAY) twist I mean, I love a good plot twist but this did not work at all. I would have preferred Chase misuse this recycled plot of h in trouble with an avenging suspect and H is there to save her. This story is proven to work, you just have to craft it well.
Other things I did not like: The relationship.
The hero.
The book tried to over complicate a full proof story line to make it standout and at least be different. Unfortunately, it failed to impress.
