His eyes searched hers intensely for a moment before a switch flipped inside of her. Abandoning all else, she sunk her fingers deeply into his hair as she found herself opening her quivering lips beneath his. Charles’ mouth came down on hers like a hawk descending on its helpless victim; his body was surprisingly strong and hard pressed against hers.
Oh, it was cold, but she melted like snow.
What does a high-dollar divorce lawyer do when she walks in on her husband “de-briefing” his secretary? How does she get back to objectively mediating when it’s way too close to home?
Scarlett is devastated by her husband’s affair and the divorce. Getting back to work is just the distraction she needs. The partners at Scarlett’s law firm have their concerns- ordering therapy for the mediator. Add in her mother’s push at getting back to the dating scene and Scarlett has enough crap on her plate to stop her in her tracks.
Until . . .
Dr. Charles Winters is hot and bright like the sun, but cool -almost cold in how he greets the world. Is it clinical professionalism? Or does the good doctor have his own baggage to deal with?
This story is HOT! Your panties are going to take themselves off.
Mona Moore has always dreamed of becoming a writer. From the moment she picked up her very first romance novel at the tender age of twelve, she was hooked. As Mona got older and more ambitious, she wrote her first Young Adult novel, which promptly got devoured by her temperamental Hewlett-Packard. Since then, she's learned a lot about crafting an engaging story to captivate readers - and how to back up her work to avoid utter devastation at the hands of technology. Mona lives mostly in her head but calls beautiful Canada her home. She spends her days baking, coloring with her minions, and of course, weaving a tall tale (which usually includes tons of gratuitous nudity and sinfully sexy men). Her favorite things include sharing a scotch with the real man of her dreams (her husband), reading up on the competition, taking excellent care of her family, and food. There's nothing she loves more than to hear from her readers.
I loved Mona Moore's previous series but I have a feeling that this one will be my favorite....The intensity between Scarlett& Charles is fire hot right from the start! Love the detailed descriptions that make you feel as if you are part of their world. Charles is the ultimate bad boy....emotional issues and extreme hotness combined 💕
Scarlett ( divorce lawyer ) just got her divorced finalized. Overbearing mother wants her to start dating again, so she wants her to meet a Dr at her parents event. Scarlett's boss makes her see a shrink. Dr Charles Winters.
When Scarlett returns to work as a divorce lawyer after she had caught her husband in their bed with his secretary they won't let her practice until she sees a shrink. When she agrees to go see him she is crazy attracted to him but when he suggests she needs sex therapy she leaves. A week or so later she goes to her mothers dinner party where her mom introduces her to her shrink doctor. The problem is they are both insanely attracted to each other but Scarlett will have to see someone else for therapy. Scarlett and the doctor have a few things to work out and hopefully they do.
This is basically part of a short and quick reads.
This one sets the background and pace of the story.
Even though it's all quick and rushed, the author added characters and gave everyone their story and along the way added some steam too.
Poor Scarlett has had the pain of her life when she watches her husband cheat on her and that takes a serious toll on her. The people around wanna help but surprisingly, one thing leads to another and she ends up meeting Charles..
Poor Scarlett, finding her husband cheating on her with another woman has almost destroyed her. She knows she is going to need help putting the pieces of her life back together (including her high powered career as a divorce attorney). Enter the mouthwatering Dr. Winters whose approach to treating his patients is a bit unorthodox and a lot sexy. His take command attitude in the bedroom makes for some super hot scenes and I can’t wait to read more in this series!
Oh Boy, Wow, what can I say this book its fantastic, I loved it so much, the buildup and release of tension between Scarlett and Charles is electric, the storyline is really great, the writing and characters are fabulous, I just could not put this one down. It stops on a tease and makes you want so much more, a good little length of book. And cannot wait to read the second book, it will take it to a whole other level. A definite good read, well worth spending a day curled up on the lounge reading, cannot say enough good things about it.
"I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book." Wholly wheat thins! That was amazing. Why have I never been warned like that!? There's a darkness there that he was able to hide until now. A rollercoaster of sexual tension and lots of mystery. A definite must read.
Noooo...I want more. Very good, fast read. Sensual and tasteful. Enjoyed it a lot. Two strong personalities with an immediate attraction to one another. Huge cliffhanger...
What an amazing short read!! The instant attraction between Scarlett and Charles was hot and wanton, who doesn't dream of a guy pushing them up against a wall and kissing them stupid?! I can't wait for the next book to see where their attraction goes..
Oh my, this book is really hot and I fully enjoyed reading this short novella. I am on the lookout for part 2 of this scorching series, it will certainly warm this cold summer we have in our nick of the woods. The sensual tension between Scarlett and Charles is sizzling wherever they see each other.
COLD FASCINATION is Book One in the intensely sensual Dr. Feelgood Series.
Curvy Scarlett McMillan hasn't had it easy. A year ago she walked in on her husband banging his secretary into their headboard and after struggling to get her feet back on the ground, she's ready to get back to work - as a divorce and mediation lawyer. Oh, the irony.
When her boss tells her that he doesn't think she's ready to go back to her usual work, he suggests she take her problems to a psychiatrist. Scarlett recognizes that her career could be at stake, so she goes to see Dr. Charles Winters.
Charles Winters is an unconventional shrink who looks like he'd be better suited to be a surfer than a Psychiatrists office. When he suggests that Scarlett may need sex therapy, well - to say she is offended is an understatement.
A chance encounter at one of her parents lavish cocktail parties makes it quite clear that there is an abundance of sexual tension between them. So, when Charles suggests a getaway for the weekend, Scarlett recklessly jumps at the chance.
Will her out of character enthusiasm get her into trouble, or is Charles just the kind of trouble Scarlett needs?
Scarlett is a high powered divorce attorney who finds herself divorced. Everyone including her boss is telling her what she needs to do to cope with the divorce. Do you follow the bosses orders or do you lose your job? Off to the Dr. she goes. Do what is required and get back in the court room. How bad can it be, maybe she can even learn somethings to help her clients.
This is the first book I've read by Mona Moore but she had me from page one! It's a short read, so I won't spoil any of it, but if you like steam, then one-click this one! I really loved Mona's writing style. She has a way with words that really helped me to picture Scarlett and the doctor. Plus the whole Dr. Feelgood thing had me singing the song while reading. Ha! Now I want to know what happens! Get to writing please, Ms. Moore! 5 stars for this one! Bravo!
Scarlett is divorced, and a divorce lawyer. Ouch. Struggling to process the loss and actively resisting her mother's setup attempts, lands her "on the couch of" Dr. Winters, and they begin an electric journey. Well, it's supposed to be an electric journey.
There are some stylistic, editing choices that I would not have made- short, choppy sentences and multiple periods where commas might be better choices. The choppiness extends to the story's opening arc as well, echoing Charles' abrupt pivots, but also adding frustration at not being able to settle in to a romantic, non-thriller plot.
That said, there were steamy times that weren't earned or deserved, and it ticked me off to read, but it's a serial, and I have to trust that more will be revealed.
Hot alpha? Check. Great plot? Check. Dirty sex? Check. Did I get kind of pissed at a main character? Check, check! I am a sucker for broken heart stories and part one of this book met all of my needs. On to part two....
I was trying to be sad through this book, but I just couldn't. Life is like this sometimes and takes you on a different path then you see yourself ever going down. Mona had me hooked right at the beginning of this story. Meeting Scarlett and Charles was so great. It had me hoping for the worst of the best, if you know what I mean. I can not wait to see what else these two can get up to.
