A fairly quick read that gives a good 30,000 foot overview of the Reformation. It does not get too in depth on any issue, nor does it imply that it does. It is well organized and although I read it sequentially, their is no need to do so. It does not have an index which is not a major issue. The table of contents list the 95 Key Events, People & Issues as mentioned in the title under larger chapter headings. The chapters are: 1. Backgrounds 2. Leading People 3. Events and Developments 4. Theological Expressions 5. Theological Topics of Christian Faith 6. Dividing Issues among Protestants 7. Legacy
Quickly skimmed while at library with family. There are 95 question and answers (see what he does there).
This book is a brief, encyclopedic telling of the Protestant Reformation’s historical backgrounds, leading people, events & developments, theological expressions & topics, dividing issues, and thoughts on lasting legacy.
This is a good jumping reference for pitting more bones to the sometimes overly summarized history of the Reformation. With more bones in the skeleton then you can hold more meat with further reading.
