Vervain Lavine's nine-pointed star is whole again. A victory indeed, except the Godhunter still doesn't know exactly what it's capable of. Distracted by pregnancy issues, she just doesn't have the time to search for answers. But when her Froekn family is attacked, then accused of nefarious deeds themselves, she is thrust down a road which leads her straight to the destiny she's been chosen for. Myth and magic turn against the Godhunter, and the only hope she has of saving those she loves lies in learning secrets of her star.
Amy Sumida is the Internationally Acclaimed author of the Award-Winning Godhunter Series, the fantasy paranormal Twilight Court Series, the Beyond the Godhunter Series, the music-oriented paranormal Spellsinger Series, the superhero Spectra Series, and several short stories. Her books have been translated into several languages, have won numerous awards, and are bestsellers. She believes in empowering women through her writing as well as providing everyone with a great escape from reality. Her stories are full of strong women and hot gods, shapeshifters, vampires, dragons, fairies, gargoyles... pretty much any type of supernatural, breathtakingly gorgeous man you can think of. Because why have normal when you could have paranormal? Born and raised in Hawaii, Amy made a perilous journey across the ocean with six cats to settle in the beautiful state of Oregon which reminds her a lot of Hawaii but without the cockroaches or evil sand. When she isn't trying to type fast enough to get down everything the voices in her head are saying while her kitties try to sabotage her with cuteness, she enjoys painting on canvases, walls, and anything else that will sit still long enough for the paint to dry. She prefers antiques to modern furniture, tea to coffee, night to day, and Tom Hardy to Tom Hiddleston. No; Tom Hiddleston to Tom Hardy. No, wait... Tom Hardy and Tom Hiddleston to Tom Cruise. Loved the book! As always, something I need from the books is more graphic explanations of the love scenes, I read the book in a day and re-read it again a day later and still can't have enough. It's like the best place to be - part of their world.
Fun read, but i'm ready for some change with the next book
Fun read, but i'm ready for some change with the next book. 5 men all romantic. But i am ready for some action instead of the vage three/more some... What happens there that can't be written on paper and read by fans. I vote for more action in bed with more details...
Cry Werewolf begins with Vervain having to deal with some issues while pregnant. Not only that there are more issues with Trevor's family as well, and she must step in to help. But, it could end up being a lot more dangerous than they originally thought.
This book was not as good as I thought it would be. I felt like this one was mainly a filler type of book, and only had a few things of importance in it. It just was some what boring I guess. I was expecting a little more, but I'm still excited for more books to come! And I still liked this one because I loved seeing Vervain and all her men together, as well as the new baby.
Because of the author’s acclaim, I can imagine I’ll be accused of heresy because of what I’m about to write. I’ve read two of her series in their entirety and am voraciously reading this one. Her plots are endlessly entertaining and full of compelling characters, unexpected plot twists, and evocative imagery. I find her works compelling in all the best ways. I guess that’s why I’m so thrown by the poor editing. Her writing shouldn’t be plagued by missing words, incorrect usage, grammatical errors, or faulty punctuation. With most authors, I wouldn’t care enough about their work to be seriously bothered by any of the above, but Ms. Sumida’s writing is too good to contain such faults. With improved editing, the books would be transported from entertaining to sublime and would then be worthy of five stars for each of them.
Okay, after getting over the too-many-kidnappings-phase the series is taking a fast-paced turn for he better. Lots of action, an an introduction to numerous sub-plots (easy to follow as long-time readers are fully invested in all the characters), and some great twists to keep us guessing. Loved this story and can't wait for the next book. And, might I add, Re (pronounced Rah) is growing on me--who knew he was so ridiculously funny?
As usual; I can't get enough of Vervaine and her band of merry gods.... Do you think she's trying to tell about every pantheon existing? So that, I mean, just in case they exist.... we wouldn't want to let them feel useless or unimportant! Go on amy!
I love this series and honestly started it like 3 days ago and just got done with the 20th book! I can't wait to read the next one and see what happens next! An amazing story and wonderful characters! !
Vervain and her men never cease to keep me tied to the story. I have read this book 3 times and continue to go back to reread this series. Recommend all of the god hunter books.
Great book I would of liked to see more excitement but all your books are awesome and I will read them to the end. Can't wait for more keep them coming
Vervain just can't stay out of trouble. I am really enjoying this series, am so glad I found it, will be sad when I get to the last written book and have to wait for the next.
I love The Godhunter series. Vervain is hilarious and I couldn't wait to read the next one every time. These books were awesome. Arach is my favorite. These were very well written.
1. Hmmm not enough action, but also the books are starting to blend in so I might be getting confused, but I don't think the action is that great, except for the end maybe, but I feel like the stories are becoming really repetitive and boring. It’s always the same theme happening again and again.
2. This has done it. I am beyond annoyed with this babies thing I mean goddamn. These men are issues. I am so beyond angry and frustrated, especially with the way vervain handled the situation like you called it out yourself that you're a baby factory and still go on?! Is this bitch insane?
2022 update: This story is more of a "currently happening in out lives arc". Some big things happen but not supremely major like we're used to except *spoiler* towards the end. A bit of foreshadowing with Vervain's star given that I've read the 35 books in the series to date. I thought this was the story that Trevor *spoiler* but that isn't it. It's further down the line so, it'll wait. Not sure if I'll end up rereading every book after this but we'll see.
