Release is the lesson. Pain is the teacher...
I'm a killer, a playboy, and I live for control. The last thing I need is a woman holding me back.

That's what I thought before I saved Frankie. Her back is marked with scars; she's survived torments that no girl ever should. The Templars screwed her up. They were going to use her, then lose her. Permanently.

But me?

I see a diamond in the rough. Frankie gives me goosebumps, she keeps me up at night.

I dream of pressing her up against a wall.
Of teasing her until she moans for release.
Of making her beg for submission.

They say pain is just weakness leaving the body. I disagree. It's so much more than that. Frankie needs this. She needs my help.

I'm going to give Frankie what she's begging for.
I'm going to show her it doesn't have to hurt.
I'm going to make her mine.

Scorched is a standalone, 65,000 word mafia BDSM romance. BONUS also included: Byrne Baby Byrne: Byrne Brothers Book Two. Hart's books are dark and dirty, she hates cheating, and guarantees a happily ever after every time.

This is the third book in the mafia romance Byrne Brothers series.

This time we get Ridley's story. He stumbles upon Frankie when she's being abused by members of a skin trading cartel that's been moving into his family's territory. Ridley isn't the kind of man to turn a blind eye and plans on bringing down the cartel that hurt Frankie and others like her.

I liked Ridley. He's a good man who didn't realize he was lonely or needed someone to love until he found Frankie. We spend some time in his head and it’s obvious he’s falling for her. Frankie was just okay. I felt her character was bratty and unappreciative of everything Ridley did for her, especially considering she was a complete stranger. She gets mad at Ridley more often than not, and it’s never for a reason that makes sense.

Overall, it was an okay read. Byrne Baby Burn, Kieren’s book (#2) was also included with this purchase.

Scorched is my first book by the author but I am definitely going back to read the first two in this series.
Book 3 is Ridley's story and how he saves Frankie in more ways than one.
I liked Ridley from the beginning, even mobsters have hearts right? You just have to open it when the time comes.
Frankie's tough, she's pretty messed up but she's strong and you just know going in she's going to get through this.
Sex trafficking and abusive pricks along with a little vengeance complete the story.

The Byrne brothers are back, and this is Ridley story. These guys are suckers for damsels in distress.

Ridley is an alpha male "business man" (gangsters) by trade. He doesn't normally get involved with others problems, but it's Frankie's lucky day. Her fate isn't looking good. She's in need of a bad boy to help her out of her mess and Ridley is that guy.

5 stars out of 5. This can be read as a standalone however it would be better to start at the beginning. Plus they are all free for Kindle unlimited readers.

The newest installment of the Byrne Brothers series is not to be missed. I thought at first it was going to be a lot like the previous one, guy finds a girl in trouble, helps her out, falls for her, end of story. But even though it seemed as if this one was following the same outline, it suddenly took a very sharp turn and became a story all on its own. I won’t spoil it all for you but you must read it and be mesmerized by it!

Ridley Byrne is the twin brother of Mac and is just as tough as the other brothers seem to be. He’s used to having a woman whenever he wants, always been that way, and there is no reason that should change. The family business is ever changing and a relationship longer than a night with a woman is just too complicated for him. That is, until he puts a shot in the knee of cartel goons trying to kidnap a woman. His sense of right and wrong, as strange as it may be, doesn’t include hurting women. Frankie doesn’t want a savior but she got one anyway. She just wants to get away from the thugs who want to sell her to sex slavers. Her plan definitely doesn’t include this perfect male specimen. And yet she knows she’s put them both in danger so she goes along with him to a safe house. Chemistry is a funny thing, it strikes when you least expect it. She’s not sure she can ever trust men again and he’s not sure what he really wants from her. He just knows she is becoming important to him.

A riveting story that keeps you turning page after page to find out what happens next. It’s never what you think and more than you hoped! HEA is a given!

I received an ARC from the author for an honest and unbiased review. No compensation was promised or received for this review.

This is the first story that I have read from this author but it will not be the last. I mean Irish bad boys with amazing accents; really do I need to say more? Really, you need more? Okay, this is the story of Frankie and Ridley. Ridley is having a drink (or four) with his brothers when he leaves she sees a woman who is being mishandled by some Mexican cartel members. He decides that this is his town and he is a Byrne therefore it is his responsibility to take care of this mess. What he does not realize is that he has just found his heart. Frankie (the woman needing help) is in shock when a handsome man saves her, and she is unsure what this new man wants from her. She is cautious and careful but feels same with Ridley and decides that things cannot be much worse with him. Ridley takes care of Frankie and keeps her safe. Ridley falls hard for Frankie and is protective of her and possessive of their relationship (in other words; a complete alpha male). Ridley takes on the Mexican cartel and everyone that gets in his way from protecting not just Frankie but his city and future life. The story is filled with romance, action, hot Irish males, alpha sexiness, developed characters and vivid scenes. There really is nothing not to like about this story. It absolutely lives up to its title. I received an ARC and am leaving a voluntary review.

Even though Ridley's a playboy bad boy & is part of the Byrne mafia family in Boston. he's all about the family & taking care of the people of Boston. He hates women being mistreated by men & one night after meeting with his brother Kieran, Ridley finds a terrified woman, Frankie surrounded by 3 men from the Mexican cartel & he has to step in & save her. At first Frankie's unsure if she can trust him, but what's she got to lose, seeing as she was all alone after her parents abandoned her at the age of 6. He takes her to an abandoned building, his own secret hideaway that took him 3 yrs to build at night. There's an attraction between the two of them & she tells him that she got kidnapped & force fed pills so that she could get addicted & then they could sell her as an obedient sex slave. Ridley's never had the interest to be tied down like his brother, that's until he met Frankie & now he wants to keep her. But will the Mexican cartel be happy that he took Frankie from them? What will the consequences be?

Ok. Book 3 in Holly's Byrne brother series. Whew, Mama Byrne has some hot and well-raised sons. No. 3 does not disappoint. Ridley saves Frankie from some cartel scum who he is just now finding out have been infiltrating his family's territory. Now he has to keep Frankie safe, find the other victims, and get rid of the bad guys - eh, all in a days work (well a little longer than that!) for a mafia bad boy. The story was well written, flowed well. The characters develop clearly and make you take an interest in them individually and as a couple. (Wonder exactly where the darkness comes from in Ridley). And I liked the epilogue - Frankie speaking to the reader - thought that was a different way of summing up and works well. Nice job. Can't wait to find out about Mama's next son!

This is my first book in this series, but I will definitely be going back and reading them all.
I liked the slow build between Ridley and Frankie.
It gave the intimacy of their relationship more depth , and definitely increased the heat level. The interplay between them is edgy and spot on , at times they both had me laughing, other moments their pain felt so real I wanted to reach out and ease it.
The cartel is as evil as they come. Basing their income on drugs, weapons and human trafficking. Also why our H and h meet.
Certain scenes may be considered a bit violent or graphic, personally ,I felt they were well depicted and even necessary to properly tell this story.

I was really looking forward to Ridleys story... he was sort of the serious take care and protect the family one mixed with the goof from the other books and while I enjoyed his and Frankie's story and getting to know Mac a bit more (hope there is a book for him in the future) I missed Kieran and Declan... they add something to the series and their older brother presence was missing... Declan and Ridley seem very similar and I feel like that story arc would have been interesting to add... I did like how strong Frankie was even when you knew she was walking into trouble...she never gave up...

This series gets better and better. I couldn't wait to dive into Ridley's story. All of the Byrne brothers will have you wanting more but Ridley by far is my fav. Ridley happens to save Frankie from the Templars but Ridley can't let her walk away. With Ridley wanting to protect Frankie they grow closer together and get something neither expected. I really enjoyed reading this series and I can't get enough of the Byrne brothers

The Byrne Bros Series is one of my favorites and Holly Hart delivered with this book. Ridley and Frankie are well written, compelling characters, both damaged, but fighting that darkness that could destroy them. They find in each other what they need to complete themselves. These books all a well paced, interesting, well developed, and hot reads. I can't wait for the next brother's story.

More of the Byrne Brothers

These brothers are dropping like flies to love. This time it's Ridley. And his meets fiery mate, Frankie, under bad circumstances. They feel the spark and feed on the attraction that they feel for each other.
I thought the subject would be a little darker with her background. The story was still good either way. Ridley oozes that Byrne charm and Frankie challenges him.
Definitely need Mac's story now!

Dark issues, action, lust, tenderness, patience, love. Ridley was a gorgeous character who was very attuned to Frankie's needs. Frankie was damaged and confused and sometimes a little bratty. I did like her strength in recognising she was damaged and doing everything she could to work through it. Good story. I would have liked to have seen all of the brothers involved in ridding the town of this scum and a shame Mac doesn't get his story.

LOVE!! I get so excited when I get an email from Holly :) I love the sexy Byrne brothers and Ridley might be my favorite. Dominant Bostonian who was in the right place at the right time. Firecracker Frankie is the game changer for Ridley, but it sure doesn't come without a fight. Cannot wait for the next Byrne brother book!

I loved reading every minute of this book! There are some very dark parts of this story but they are parts that need to be told. I'm glad that Frankie's story turns out the way it does.

I did receive a free ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have read the two other books in this series. This book #3 can be read as a standalone, no need to read the other 2. The author explains who the people are in the book.

In this book we learn about Ridley Byrne. He's a middle child on the Byrne family. He does have a twin.

The female character is Frankie. We don't know much about her until the end. Frnakie has fire red hair and blue eyes.

Ridley comes out of one of his family's pub's one night after drinking with his brothers. He see's a woman struggling with a few men. Ridley knows he must help her. Why is she struggling so hard against them. Ridley realizes that these men are other mobsters who deal with human trafficking. Ridley steps in and fights off them men.

Ridley takes Frankie to his safe house where they will wait out the gangs he just fought against. Frankie is struggling against her inner demons in that she knows it was wrong what she just went threw but she's safe.

How is it fair that she escapes and the other woman are still being held? Will she be able to get them out?? Will Ridley help her? Can she trust him?? Can she trust her feelings around him?

Oh another HOT Byrne brother, this one is about Ridley, He is a killer and a playboy, After meeting with his brothers Ridley leaves the bar and hears something going on in the alley, When he sees a beautiful woman being beaten by a bunch of men he has to step in, that is just what he and his brothers do.
Ridley saves Frankie from the Mexican Cartel and takes her to his hide out to help tend her injuries and her spirit. He always needs to be in control, but his hard shell cracks the more he is with Frankie. Frankie has endured so many unspeakable things at the hands of the Cartel and Ridley is there to help her with this. I LOVED how this story played out Ridley I think is my favorite Byrne brother so far, But then again there are more to come .

Scorched by Holly Hart is Book 3 in the Byrne Brothers series and a Bay Boy Romance.

Ridley is a playboy bad boy who's all about the family and taking care of his own, the people of Boston. Unlike his brother Kieran, Ridley has no interest in being tied down. Until he meets Frankie. Frankie is all alone in the world after being abandoned by her parents when she was 6 years old. And she made the fatal mistake of spilling her guts to her charming date and telling him how alone and lonely she was. Which in turn got her kidnapped and force fed pills to get her addicted so that she could be sold as an obdient sex slave.

Frankie escapes the house where she's being inprisoned but her captors catch her before she can get the hell out of Dodge. Ridley hates men who mistreat women, and when he stumbles upon 3 gangsters surrounding a terrified woman, he steps in and lets his gun do the talking. Ridley never knew what he was missing until Frankie walked into his life. And he wants to keep her in his life. Frankie is mystified when Ridley brings her to an abandoned building. What's this building? Ridley's own secret hideway that he made himself. Over the course of 3 years. In the dead of the night. Because of course he did.

Now that Ridley's decided that he's keeping Frankie, that means he's going to remove any and all threats to Frankie's life. Ridley goes fishing for information and finds out that the gangsters are members of The Templars, a murderous drug cartel that's also into women and guns and has the police in their pocket. The Templars managed to infiltrate Boston over the past few months when the Byrne brothers had been preoccupied with their own problems. After finding out everything he can about the Templars, he recruits his twin brother Mac to help him take out the Templars.

Scorched is a thrill-a-minute story that's ridiculously funny, smoking hot and breathtakingly suspenseful. Ridley and his brothers love to tease the hell out of each other and being guys, they don't hold back, which leads to some very funny zingers. Ridley and Frankie bring out the best in each other but is Frankie too damaged to love and be loved? Holly Hart skillfully brings the characters' deep emotions to the fore and it was very easy to get caught up in the story. I can't wait to read Book 4 in the Byrne Brothers series. I highly recommend this book.

Oh my, the hot Irish "business man"! I love all of the Bryne Brothers thus far! Frankie was a little immature for me with all the garbage running through her head. I felt like she could have been little more grateful to Ridley for what he has done for her and what he continues to do for her. He's done everything right for her to trust him and then she goes ruins it. I won't tell you how! I can't wait for the next Bryne book! Only two more Bryne brothers to go.

The Byrne Brothers sure have a knack for being in the perfect place at the perfect time to rescue a damsel in distress, but this time is a little different. Ridley was just about to go home for the night when hears something that can't be anything but bad. Several Templars have a woman in their clutches and it looks like the situation is about to go from bad to worse when he steps in to save the day. He takes the woman, Frankie, away from the men only to find out she's been beaten more than most men could handle, let alone a woman. He's just saved her from a life of beatings, rapes, and then eventually a horrible death. Frankie's fiery red hair and temperament have made Ridley take notice, and he wants nothing more than to be her knight in black leather. But as much as Frankie loves the feeling of being in Ridley's arms, she feels like there is something she still must do even after she's been saved from a horrible future....

This book felt a little darker to me, but it was such a good read. Frankie had suffered much worse compared to the women from the other two books, which I think made her rescue and relationship with Ridley that much sweeter. The story also hits on how the Byrne boys are going to have to step up their game to protect the town they love so much. Great read and hopefully we'll get more stories about the rest of the Byrne clan!!

SCORCHED

Loved this book, everything about it. A great storyline that has darkness and intrigue makes an overall awesome read. This story had me gripped from the beginning, and highlights some of the tragedies going on today. Very enlightening and very sad that people have to go through this every day, the author has done a great job with the detailed writing and visualisations for the reader. I also loved the characters alot. Ridley is a dark soul with dark needs, but his also really sweet, caring, and funny. Frankie is Ridley's perfect match, with her own demons and darkness, but she also has a strength, shyness and vulnerability about her. I liked the balance between them and their relationship, and the chemistry they shared. This story moves at a good pace, and the author did a great job bringing it together. However I do think at the very beginning of their relationship things could have gone a touch slower, I just think that wanting to keep someone in your life that you've just met is a little unrealistic. Otherwise overall I thoroughly enjoyed this dark and entertaining read.

Not my favorite. I really liked the first two books in the series but this one had way too much internal dialogue and not enough interaction. Especially Ridley with his family, where we're the rest of the brothers and the crew???

Scorched is the 3rd book in the Byrne Brothers Series.
Frankie was abducted, abused, and drugged by The Templars, a Mexican cartel, secretly infiltrating Boston. She manages to escape, only to be almost caught again.
Ridley accidentally witnesses her struggle and comes to her aid.
Ridley is the middle brother of the Byrne Mafia family and feels at first glance strongly attracted to Frankie. He offers her a safe place to hide herself while healing from her wounds, and tries, secretly, together with his twin brother, to come up with the cartel, just to realize how far the cartel has already taken over the city.
Frankie fights with emotional problems. She has suffered too much in too short a time and has had to leave behind her fellow prisoner women, whom she had promised to rescue.
In addition, she fights against her feelings for Ridley and against her distrust of men.
This book is more than exciting and captivating, a real page turner and at least as good as the predecessors in this series!

Ridley is a member of the Byrne mafia family in Boston. He is a killer and tries to be in control of things at all times. Then one night outside a bar, her hears a scuffle and instead of doing the smart thing and walk away, Ridley goes to investigate. He finds some men from the Mexican cartel surrounding a beautiful woman and about to hurt her. Ridley decides to help out and beats off the men. Frankie is the name of the woman he rescued and she is in trouble. She was kidnapped by the cartel, held prisoner, drugged and beaten. Ridley is drawn to to Frankie in a way he has never felt before and offers her a safe place to hide. Frankie is nervous at first but deep inside she trusts Ridley.
Ridley keeps Frankie in his hide-out and helps clean her up. The chemistry between the two is electric but Ridley decides to wait until she is more stable emotionally before he acts more on their passion. As he is protecting Frankie, he is also studying the cartel. Frankie said their were a bunch of other girls held prisoner too. As he does his research he finds that the cartel has snuck into his family's city and starting to take it over. He decides to take them out right then.
The passion between Frankie and Ridley is fantastic. Even though Ridley likes his control, Frankie seems to enjoy giving up hers. There are some BDSM elements like spanking and choking. Frankie is also having some emotional problems after her captivity so she has a couple of incidents of self-harm. I really enjoyed this book. Watching the tough mafia man turn into a marshmallow for Frankie was fun. I voluntarily received a copy of this story and this is my honest review.
