I'm a big fan of the Runes series and Ednah Walters and have been looking forward to the release of Goddess since the middle of last year. When I was finally able to get my hands on this book, I devoured it all in one sitting!
Goddess is the continuation of Cora & Echo's story, you definitely do need to have read all the other books in the Runes series prior to reading this other wise you'll be missing out on some important information. I really think that Ednah Walters has produced a beautiful story here. I found myself laughing one second and then crying the next, sometimes out of sadness but there were also some tears of joy. The whole world and family that Ednah has created through this series makes me feel like I'm a part of it. From each characters story that I've read, I seem to constantly be changing my mind as to who is my favourite character, however I think I've finally made up my mind and it's Hel. I can't wait to read the next book in the series and I can honestly tell you that I really don't ever want these stories to end and I know that the day they do will be a very sad day for me.
The full five stars for Goddess from me, it was an emotional and heartfelt story that I loved and know I'll be revisiting time and again over the years.

Now on book 7, and I still devour each book as soon as Walters releases it! Much to mythology-nerd excitement, this book delves a lot more deeply into the magic and lore surrounding all the aspects of the realms, myths, and gods and goddesses (as the title infers) of the Norse world. The YA characters I've grown to care for and almost 'know' like a friend continue to grow and interweave in Goddess, with a focus in this book on Cora's internal struggles due to further paranormal revelations that again unsettle the sense of self she's just grown comfortable with, and challenge who her 'family' is (including her friends and fiance Echo). My only reason for not giving this one 5 stars like the last ones, is that for me it was a bit slow and the 'drama' that I thought would culminate in an epic climax--which wasn't even exactly Cora's conflict at all--ended up being a bit glossed over with a quick side story (though it brought in some needed action!) overshadowing the resolution. Worth pulling through that if you're a romantic, though! Overall, I enjoyed reading it as this book explains a lot of mystery from Cora's past and builds excitement for the next installment!

I need to fangirl here. Once again, Ednah Walters weaved a thrilling and captivating tale that was impossible to put down.

Goddess is the tenth book in the Runes Series set in Norse mythology. Usually, I’m not a fan of long series, but I will be crushed when this series is finished. I love each and every book and I want more!

The entire series, including Eirik’s trilogy of companion books, flow together extremely well and provide a detailed story that is completely interconnected.

Goddess picks up at the end of Eirik’s third book, Gods, and just after Witches, Runes Series book 6. Both Gods and Witches are on the same timeline.

This book continues the adventures of Cora and Echo and their group of Druids and Grimnirs.

Cora Jemison is a strong, beautiful, feisty, and loving girl from Oregon who has had her world turned upside-down by immortals. Instead of falling apart, Cora transformed herself into a confident medium, who allows souls to possess her to help them find closure. Her life was just settling into a comfortable pattern, when she decides to tell her parents the truth about seeing souls and that her fiancée is a reaper. Sparks fly, tempers rage, and Cora begins an adventure she never expected.

Echo is one smoking hot reaper, with sexy hair, a flair for the dramatic and a soul-mate kind of love for Cora. He had been alone for most of his very long life, fighting with everyone and reaping souls, until Cora came into his life. He is over-protective of Cora and will battle anyone in the nine realms to keep her safe. He also drives her crazy sometimes.

In Goddess, Cora’s world starts to crumble, threatening to destroy the most important thing in her life: her relationship with Echo. Cora traverses lies, misconceptions and hidden truths to discover her destiny.

Goddess is full of adventure and suspense that draws the reader into the story to feel everything the characters are experiencing. The characters in this series are incredible and so very well developed. They each have very distinct and unique personalities that make you want to be friends with them.

This book was awesome from start to finish. I didn’t want it to end. Much like all of Ednah’s book. She leaves me wanting MORE. I am looking forward the next Runes book. This book and series shouldn’t be missed.

Echo and Cora!

Ah! So good! Warning: if you skip Erick's trilogy but plan to read it, this book has major major spoilers. Recommend reading Erick's story before reading this book. So excited to see this series carry on in so many different ways. Also stoked to learn there is yet another Rayne and Torin book! 10 glittery stars for a piece of North Mythology that is fabulous!

In book 7 of the Runes series, Ednah has once again written a story that is hard to put down. With the turn of each page the story becomes more intense and keeps the reader mesmerized. This series is based on Norse Mythology in a modern day setting. It is ideal for young adults who enjoy a love story. The characters are well developed and the storyline is easy to follow. Even though I am an older adult, I have loved this series right from book one. Don't miss this latest riveting story in the series.

The Rune series is composed of two series that centers around two best friends and with each book the stories shift between their perspectives. Raine has four of the seven books and Cora has the other three. The stories share the same characters and creates an amazing world that then reveals a bigger plot, but it's one series. The books are so dependent on each other you can't skip one girls book without missing something.

Goddess is not only Cora's last book but it is the seventh and final book in the series and it was amazeballs. I will admit that while I liked Cora as Raine's bff during the first couple of books I didn't see how she could switch over to become a main character with her own story. However after reading Grimnirs (third book in the Runes series and Cora's first book) I found the story to still be compelling, I got answers from the previous books, all the same characters were in the book and that includes Raine. I was able to see scenes from different povs and more information was given. I loved it and the second book was just as good but Goddess was the icing on the cake.

This book was everything, their was action, mystery, romance, magic, mythology and a serious plot twist. Goddess was everything that I could have hoped for in Cora's final book. The plot was entertaining and I never wanted to put the book down, the characters I love were present and they continued to kickass and a few new characters were introduced and I just complete fell in love with them.

Echo and Cora are just as grotesquely in love as they were in the previous books but add in ghosts, a difficult past and family drama Cora and Echo are going to have to over come a lot to get to their happily ever after but they have great people behind them to help them overcome anything.

Ednah manage to create a wonderful complex story that flowed so easily and was very entertaining. She created characters to love and magic to envy. If you have any doubts about finishing this series then take my suggestion and do it, you will not regret it and if you are new to the series, stop reading reviews and get started on this amazing series.

Thanks Ednah for this world that is full of myths and magic.

Right around 4 stars. Goddess isn’t as action-packed as the other Runes books, but it does a great job of winding Cora and Echo’s story and tying it together with Eirik and Celestia’s.

Plot:
Cora is finally getting used to seeing and helping souls when she gets another huge surprise, one that threatens the possibility of a future with Echo.

Characters:
Cora finds out that she has new abilities, which leads to the discovery that her loved ones have been keeping secrets from her since she was a child. She manages to take everything in stride, while Echo doesn’t handle things quite as gracefully. He totally makes up for it in the end.

Goddess also features just about all the characters from the Runes universe: Raine and Torin, Eirik and Celestia, the Grimnirs, Dev, and all the people from Helheim. (I could have used a little more Andris though!) Everyone has very distinct personalities, and they mesh together perfectly.

Writing:
There are very few typos, and Walter’s writing is very laid back and easy to read. She is great at world building, and as always, she did a remarkable job with the mythology. If the book were a movie, I’d probably rate it PG-13. There is a little cursing and violence and a couple of adult situations. While Cora’s books tend to be steamier than the other Runes books, Goddess isn’t quite as sexual as Grimnirs.

Bottom Line:
I think most Runes readers will find that Goddess is a fitting conclusion to Cora’s story. Echo is probably my favorite of Walters’ characters so far, and the book did a great job of showing his strengths, as well as his vulnerabilities. It was also kind of like a bonus epilogue to Eirik’s story. Now we just need to see what’s next for Raine and Torin.

So I started reading this book WITHOUT reading Eirik's books. BAD IDEA!!! I got 30% of the way in and was like "whoa! What?! huh??? pause. Gotta go read some other books...brb" READ EIRIK'S BOOKS FIRST!!!! They really shouldn't be set up as another series....it made them seem unnecessary, but they are totally necessary!

I feel like the Cora/Echo relationship here took the biggest growth that almost any of the relationships in the books took. Raine/Torrin went from falling in love to being dependant/annoying (in my opinion). Celestia/Eirik grew steadily and focused on being strength for each other. Cora/Echo went from strangers to having deep conversations about values and morals to passion filled to finding new ways for each of them to grow. I honestly loved the way they had to settle things as you can tell the next year is going to hold a lot of new challenges for them both.

I didn't love this ending for Cora because there wasn't enough closure for her story.

There is one more story left and I'm unsure of when/if it will be published due to the recent death of the author. I hope that it has been told and is in various editing stages, but can settle with this book being the last of the series if need be. I hope in the final book to have Ragnarok to actually happen, I feel like that's where this series needs to go, but at the same time I think it would be really cool for the new future leaders to come up with an alternative plan to save as many lives as possible and not have Ragnarok as it was prophesied (and stick it to the Norns).

I LOVE the Runes universe. Love it. So, first I want to say thank you to Ednah Walters for making this universe a reality and I am saddened that I will never be able to meet you face to face to tell you. R.I.P.

Okay, so, Cora is probably one of my favorite characters in the Runes universe. In the first book, you think she's just this bubbly blonde who only cares about boys. But when you read her version of the Runes universe, you learn just how wrong that is. She is compassionate, intelligent, and holds her own in her own way.

As far as Runes books goes Goddess was decent enough. The writing is still amazing. I think what I liked most about this book though is that we get to see a new realm. That was a big thing for me. I haven't read the Eirik books, but I feel that chronologically you probably should. That said, I wasn't confused about the story itself. Maybe just a bit bummed that this would be my first experience of certain characters.

The story itself wasn't bad and it definitely finished off Cora's story arch. That said, it was more of a fluff piece. BUT, I did like it and I will probably reread the book itself once I've listened to Eirik's books and maybe do the whole universe in a chronological sense.

I honestly love how Walters intertwined the books and it's a great experience.

All in all, I definitely recommend this book for the young adult Norse mythos romance lovers. Like I would for the rest of the Runes universe.

OMGosh I loved it!!!!!!!

I loved loved loved this book and the series!!!!! I sure hope she finishes the story to the war that will take place. If she doesn't then she would sure leave us all hanging. I loved the characters especially Raine, Torin, Andris, Eirik, Cora, Echo, and Dev!! At first I was bummed because the book started off with Cora's life and I was confused as to why we weren't picking back up with Raine instead, but I got into the book with no trouble and it all started to explain itself. I guess I was having a slow moment. I loved this story line and the imagination that went into this world. Truly fantastic creativity of this Arthur. I sure hopes she finishes to the future war and she could also break off with a series on the academy with the main characters all being involved in the school like the series hinted at them either attending or teaching..

I have read all seven books in this series...I am sad they are over. I could not get enough of the characters or the world(s) they live in. What a gifted storyteller/writer/author. Wow. The detail that Ednah Walters obviously excels at pulled me in almost immediately. I felt right at home. The only issue I had was the incorrect spelling of words or the wrong word every once in a while. This will usually have me closing the book and moving on BUT not in this series. Most of the errors were in the first books, and I get that. As in life, we move forward, learn lessons in each step of our progress. I honestly could not put these books down. The characters, the worlds, and the mysteries folded easily in humor had me hooked. I look forward to reading more Ednah Walters books.

The gangs all here!

We are following Cora and Echo as she gets disturbing news that turns out to be good news after thinking on it. I love the addition of other characters from previous books. If you haven’t read any of the previous books in the Runes series you will most likely be confused and a little lost, not to mention you will be totally spoiling yourself for past reveals.

Ednah Walters does a great job with building her characters and the atmosphere that they are found. She intertwines mythology and lore so well with the present day and Cora is the epitome of present day melding into lore.

This book is a little slower than previous books with a little more teen angst and relationship building than action. It is a good in between book to bridge Witches and Gods.

Book Review- Goddess by Ednah Walters

Cora has been helping souls find closure with Dev’s help. She and Echo are doing great and have gotten a house together. She is preparing to tell her parents about her abilities and what Echo really is. She is also going to tell them that she and Echo are getting married. She knows it will be difficult to share and she isn’t looking forward to it.
However her parents have things to tell her before she has a chance as they reveal what they are and who she is. She is an orphan saved and raised by immortals. Cora is shocked at the revelations and reeling from the lies. When Eirik reveals who she really is, her shock knows no bounds.
Cora is reeling from the news and fears what will happen when she meets her biological parents. Echo starts pulling away in reaction and Cora is beside herself. She is hurt and angry. Everything is changing quickly. Dev is given a second chance but it causes dire issues. Cora travels to Hel to meet her parents wondering what Echo will do. Her father doesn’t help the cause as he invites suitors to meet her. Cora is struggling with combining who she thought she was and who she really is together. The expectations are high and she has big shoes to fill.
I love this series. I did not see Cora’s story going in this direction. I truly love her character. She is sassy and strong. She and Echo together are my favorite pairing. He is such a bad boy and she has tamed him which is every girl’s fantasy. It is truly fun to read their interactions especially when he is being an idiot and she lets him know. I chuckled out loud at how she showed her annoyance. Poor Echo didn’t know what to do when the time came to take her to Hel. I hate when he thought he may not be good enough. It’s hard for me to read moments like that. He showed he loved her and took care of her. What more could anyone ask?
The whole plot to the book was great. There was some family drama. The evil soul at the end was a bit surprising. Didn’t see that coming. In fact I’m not too sure I truly liked that. It was a bit anticlimactic from all the build up. Otherwise I loved the whole book. I want to see more so I hope it doesn’t end Cora and Echo’s story here. I give it a 4 out of 5.

Cora and Echo's story continues! Perfection!

Goddess is nothing short of perfection! I'm so happy Cora and Echo have their story. Edna left nothing out - as with each and every book in the Runes Series, you're instantly transported into her world.
As huge secrets are revealed, Cora and Echo are in for the adventure of a lifetime. This is an absolute must-read! I've the entire series, some books several times. Believe me you won't be disappointed. The books are magical and beautifully written. Once you meet the characters, you'll be in love! 5 stars!

Oh my Goddess!

I feel like it has been so long since we got to hang out in Cora's POV. I love watching her embrace her new life and build new relationships. Seeing her get perspective into Echo's world was also amazing. I love some of the unpredictable plot to twists in this book and that everyone finally came together. In Goddess, Cora felt the most like the Cora we first meet in Runes, than she has in any other book since, which I love. I am dying to read what happens next in the Runes world. I vote Mystic Academy.

This book was a pretty good conclusion to Echo’s and Cora’s love story. However, I was disappointed in many ways.

The ending was very abrubt. There were a lot of great plot twists, but it was just like listed and then nothing was dealt with. I was expecting a finale or something great.
The romance between Cora and Echo was less prevalent in this book. I wish there were moments of them together. This book did not have much.
The fact that Cora is a Goddess did not very well match the story. It was just like all of a sudden.
Although there were many disappointments in this book there were some good things:

Echo was a swoony as ever. He was really protective and there was more character growth in him.
I get to find out what happens to Eirik (I have not read his trilogy yet).
The pace of the plot was good.
Overall, this book was a disappointment.

Another great book by Ednah Walters! This book had my heart thumping because of nervousness of what might happen next. If you have read her previous books, you will know that there were questions hangging in the air. This book provides an answer to some of those questions. There are surprises that you will not expect! Plus, if you're an echo girl, you are going to love this! It's perfect for the valentines!

A must read!!!

Ednah always has the ability to being you into the story and make you feel like you are actually there, no matter how much you suck at being imaginative ednah just seems to have that ability and this book was no different. I loved being able to see cora and echo's story play out to the end and love how it all went down. I'm sad its finished but very happy with how it has ended.

Love their ending

I know its not the last we will get of these two but i loved the closer this book gave. It basically solidified Cora and Echos relationship. I thought the author did a great job with descriptions and made the story so you could feel apart of the experience. The way she described her experience with meeting Hel her mom was really something i had looked forward to.

Another good read by Ms. Walters

I would recommend this young adult paranormal romance series of books because of the attention to detail on the mythology and the characters in the stories. The main characters are easy to envision and are relatable. Each character has a different personality and is maintained throughout the series. You will enjoy this book if you enjoy romance novels.

What can I say but Ednah has done it again. She never disappoints. In Goddess you will find out more on Cora and her past as well as her future. She is having a terrible internal battle with herself. She doesn’t know what to do and who to talk to. Cora knows that Echo is always there for her but she doesn’t think how Echo will be able to help her out with this. Deep down she knows she can count on him for anything.

Echo I believe is having his own internal battle whether to stay close to Cora or let go a little to let her figure things out for herself. Cora has come to terms with a lot at once but she is so strong she will be able to keep going. Loving Cora as Echo does he learns he will have to fight everyone off to be worthy of Cora’s love.

I wait impatiently for the next one. I have looked the Rune books since day one. Ednah loves to take her readers on a whirlwind and leave us needing more. This book........... I have so many words, but all I have to say is. I wanted to slap Echo senseless. He may be one of my fav, but that boy drove me nuts!

I cant wait to read Raine and Torins book. I hope this series never ends!

Imagine growing up with amazing parents and the learning you have another set. I like the way this went, it intertwined every character in the most amazing way.
