Nate Bridges has just made a big mistake. He has just taken Shawna Prescott’s virginity. She is not the kind of girl a jock goes for. His memories are the only thing he can have, and it has to be enough. He can’t have her. Shawna is not going to tell anyone about her night with Nate. It was just one night, and she never has to speak to him again. But when Shawna’s mother and Nate’s father reveal they are dating, trying to avoid Nate becomes useless. Nate and Shawna are now living together, and by some strange twist of fate, they find comfort in each other. With college around the corner, and their parents together, Nate and Shawna can either remain a secret, or tell their parents the truth. How do they even feel for each other? Nate has never been in love before, and Shawna doesn’t know what love is. Is there a way for them to stay together after high school?
Sam Crescent is passionate about fiction. She loves a good erotic romance and so it only made sense for her to spread her wings and start writing. She began writing in 2009 and finally got that first acceptance in 2011 by Total-E-Bound. She loved creating new characters and delving into the worlds that she creates. When she’s not panicking about a story or arguing with a character, she can be found in her kitchen creating all kinds of havoc. Like her stories the creations in the kitchen can be just as dubious but sometimes things turn out great.
3 stars, editing aside, plot holes aside. I like Sam Crescent books because you know what you're getting. I just can't decide if I want her to take the time to tidy up her writing or not - the plus is you get a quick easy read with regularity; the down is it will certainly have the odd editorial/grammatical points of "err-uhm" (this is the technical literary term of course). However her writing style itself is fairly smooth, the plots, while often double wide and HGV safe, are compelling enough and the sex scenes are fiery, so I guess frequency over-rules perfection. And I reckon I'm OK with that. Mostly. This was more of the same, large imperfect virginal girl, hot muscled experienced boy, reasons why not easily overcome, sex scenes, happy ending. However with a frisson of step-sibling allure, sort of. I was rather bemused by how the initial deflowering had apparently occurred but I assume it was a matter of narrative device. Still, an enjoyable fluffy sex romp, typical of the type.
It was awesome read. Though, at the beginning I was a little disappointed in Nate. But that quickly changed and he won me over. I wasn't even bothered by that he fought his feelings for Shawna. It was kinda cute. I loved connection between Nate and Shawna. I could feel it and it was strong.
It's always a hit or miss with Sam's books. This one was on the better side of the coin. The dynamic of the family was a little weird and the way he treated her in the beginning was off putting and that kiss.... not a fan of cheating but they weren't together at the time. But All in all I like books that end in good HEA's.
I have to say when I first started reading this book I was not a fan of Nate, but as the story went on he won me over. Because when you are young all you want to do is fit in with your friends, you don't want to be the odd one out.
This story was exactly what I expected from Sam Crescent. I liked the fact that Shawna wasn't a walk over and that she stood up for herself when she needed to. But also that she took ownership for her feelings and what she wanted.
Shawna and Nate didn't want to be to be together because they were scared to upset the balance in high school rules, but they couldn't deny their feelings and how they were so right for each other.
I know this is about young adults, but what I got from this book was two people getting together and falling in love and having a life together despite what their friends think . Changing the way they think as well. The whole jock and nerd never socializing thing. A great romance story.
This book was a okay read.Nothing great,no real characters to speak of,the plot was stale and predictable. No real sexual tension between hero and heroine.NO smut for a supposedly smutty book. But certain parts of the book were good but could have been made better. All in all the book is a decent read by this author whom produced some great books in the past.
The story of Nate and Shawna was a cute love story, however the relationship felt rushed at times with their feelings between each other as it turns from dislike to love
I liked this story. I will admit that I grew frustrated with Nate. All he worried about was his friends and classmates finding out. His feelings for Shawna were undeniable but he acted embarrassed of that. I liked Shawna but at times I wanted to tell her to bin Nate off. She deserved someone that wouldn’t care what people think. I loved how accepting Nate’s father and Shawna’s mother were of the relationship. The storyline for this book is easy to follow and easy to devour. I really want Buster’s story. One last thing: on page one when Nate referred to Shawna as ‘’chubby’’ it annoyed me. Yes she might have weighed more then his usual girls. But that shouldn’t matter. If you like someone you like someone. Its highly irritating to me what a hero describes his love interest as chubby or fat. Especially when they soon change their mind when they get her into bed.
Nate Bridges and Shawna Prescott are opposites. Nate is the most popular boy in school and Shawna is a nerd. When Nate’s father starts to date Shawna’s mother, they are thrown together. One weekend alone at his house with Shawna, one thing leads to another. Nate is determined to keep the fact he took Shawna’s virginity a secret. Shawna has no intentions of telling anybody about giving Nate her virginity. With both at a stand of and an undeniable attraction, its about to get a lot harder. When Nate learns that Shawna and her mother are moving in, he is worried. He cannot stop thinking about Shawna. He wants her in his bed again. With them now living under the same roof, will they deny one another? Will Nate stop worrying about his popularity and claim his woman?
Just another great love story by Sam crescent, love love her story's. This is about a jock and a nerd, Nate was a football player and Shawna was a plus-size nerd. Their parents was dating and one weekend they hooked up even though Shawna was a virgin but Nate said not to tell any one but there was a connection that Nate nor Shawna could not stop. So they thought the Experiment that just kept them just friends with benefits but love was always there, Nate was at first didn't want anyone to know be cause of the different groups of friends, but with Shawna he wanted everyone to know it was so great the beautiful story of jock and nerd love! Would recommend this book to all romances readers!
This is the first book by Sam Crescent when the heroine seems so cold. Seems so untouched by the hero's warmness. Maybe because Heroine's PoV was so much less than the hero's. But really, where the hell was the chemistry was? It was almost NONE.
The plot was so much fun, though. Really, easy to follow and really SC's trademark. And this is the first time I feel so sorry for the hero's effort to get the heroine's attentions.
The heroine seems so careless towards the hero, seems so cold and far, now warmness, nothing. Up till the end, heroine's real feeling seems so lack and shallow compared to hero's feeling. It will be better if the author didn't make it for dual PoV because even though it was dual, seems like the hero and heroine's feeling wasn't unequal.
Feels like the hero constantly squirming for the cold heroine. I really don't know it this is bad or good. One side I want the tough heroine, one side I want the sweet heroine. Hm...really undecided
Nice story, no cheating although he does kiss a girl in front of everyone to see if he feels anything and he doesn't. Shauna sees it and it hurts her because they are secretly together already. He apologizes and never does anything again. There is a HEA and an epilogue 5 years out.
