I found this kid's book for .49¢ @ Goodwill, and could not pass it up. Loved this! I am not a kid, but I learned lots of new stuff. 5/5 stars.
As for the less than stellar ratings, let me take a wild guess and say that those giving this cool book low ratings are either super religious, or climate change deniers. Either way- sucks to be you.

Bill Nye investigates all the different parts of the ocean and the things that can be found there.

This book includes charts, diagrams, maps and pictures to really help the reader understand the content. Some of the pictures and diagrams are drawn while other are real pictures, so it creates a nice balance and isn’t too overwhelming for the reader. Not only do the charts and pictures help the reader understand the content, but the reader can also take it a step further and do the experiments and activities that are included with each section of the book. These activities would most likely need to be done in a classroom setting, since some of them include things like a school gym, but I think teachers should utilize these activities. These activities can help activate background knowledge, or can at least create some.

This is a super interesting book with lots of facts presented in an enticing way. I would use this book in my class for when we study the ocean and I would love to have this book on my shelves because I know there are always children that find books like this interesting. I love Bill Nye and his exciting ways of presenting facts and information. The artwork is alluring and draws the eye across the page which I enjoyed because you are reading facts beneath the photos and connecting the info to the picture.

This book is great! There are tons of cool experiments that you can do with your students that have to deal with the ocean. Of course, it being made by Bill Nye, you know it's gonna be good. His TV show was off the chain!

Lots of good pictures and illustrations help with visualizations of what is being explained and experimented.

I think this book is very fun and interesting. There are several different facts about the ocean. It also has many fun and creative experiments that you can use to help teach the material given in the book. This book helps teach many things about the ocean that you may not have thought about teaching or learning about, that are just fun things to know.

I would use this with my upper elementary students. This text includes great diagrams and has many “try this” experiments throughout. This text encourages students’ curiosity about the ocean.

3. Come along with Bill Nye the science guy as he explores the big blue ocean. The book describes the ocean, what lives in it and some fun activities that will explore the marine life.
4. I just love Bill Nye so much. When I was growing up and in school I never liked science, but he made it fun and enjoyable to watch. This book is engaging and makes the reader want to read more about the ocean.
5. In the classroom, I would pull this out when discussing the ocean theme. This would be a great book to read to the children and have them use as a resource in the classroom.
