REVIEW New to me author. Someone wants to take over the world, not only the paranormal world but also the humans. Whoever it is, is not only taking paranormals but also killing them.
Fated mates are a rarity for those of the Phoenix species, but it helps a lot when your fated one is a Witch who casts spells and brings you to Orlando Florida. But a storm is brewing, so things won't be easy for the pair.
Ram has to figure out how to tell his newly found mate what his title is among his kind. He also needs to stop whoever it is enlisting many in the paranormal world from taking over the world, killing others who are not on board.
Nothing is ever as easy as it seems for Annie and Ram. They not only have to get her father onboard with their mating but together they need to save all that they know in the world. Can they do it?
Great story. We get many paranormal beings living, and working together. I love when a story adds many characters. The story is strong, we get a bit of suspense well make that a lot as it takes a bit to figure out exactly what is going on and who is causes it. We get a whole lot of hotness when Ram and Annie can finally be. I hope there is another book in this series. I would say for sure if you’re a paranormal lover grab this book and get started.
This starts off pretty straightforward. Enough background information on our two main characters are given, and their meeting and acceptance of their fate mates status seems almost subdued. Meanwhile there is turmoil building that will disrupt their blissful future. The character names are basic. Cam and Ram, Dae and Night. (Or nite) Sentence formation seems almost too explanatory. I am almost halfway through this book and find myself easily distracted from the storyline and this time I really can't cite life interruptions. The storyline moves from finding each other, to discovering a building threat to everyone, to discussing finding other paranormals, to discussing wedding plans. Mixed in there is the hot, steamy, sealing of the deal. Now it's time to decide. The good points: the story is definitely easy to understand and writing is not complicated. The goal of the storyline is entertaining. This writer has a very straightforward writing style . If not for the very hot and steamy chemistry between the two main characters, this book could easily be a YA book. I believe that due to this writers unique approach to storytelling and this being my first exposure to her writing style, I didn't find myself fully immersed into the story. Nevertheless, it is still a good entertaining story and a great addition to the zodiac shifter series.
This is a fairly clean read, no blood and guts fighting. The sexual scenes is tame and not over the top. Over all this is a calm read. It is well written, nice plot but just did not click for me.
It deserves the 5 stars cause it is a nice read, but not hot and there is no Phoenix shifting to tell us of their shape.. the author takes time to explain that when mated each would get some type of magic from the other but that was never explored. The story was left open ended as if more is to come but not really what the more was. So there is a cliff hanger with this book. I do not know if one of the other books is the ending or what.
Omg! Phoenix Under Fire, is a fantastic must read! ... Ms. Dawn grabbed me from the start, and kept me glued to my seat not wanting to stop reading when I had to! ... I loved the unique fresh storyline, and the characters were totally awesome! I loved the chemistry between the H/h, Ram & Annie :) but then I wanted to reach into the book & punch someone's deceitful relative right in the face ;) lol ... Awesome witty dialogue & great descriptions will keep readers engaged & turning pages! I can't wait for more from this author & the ZS series :D
Loved it! Annie and Ram are fated mates who are planning their wedding while trying to stop an evil from taking over the world. All paranormals that still exist are being located to help fight the oncoming war. Annie thinks her father is up to something but isn't sure what. This book is an ongoing story that I am looking forward to reading. The story can only get better as most of the stories from this author have. I have yet to be disappointed! I can't wait to continue with the story and find out who finds their fated mate next.
Terrific story about Phoenix shifter / human witch
A powerful witch wishes for faded mate so she cast a spell. Her faded made appeared I need you to find out why he was kidnapped. And that's begin the tale.
The characters are relatable, sometimes funny, and very intriguing. The plot ends in a cliffhanger but with some dramatic twist. The most interesting part was the ball and the description of the dresses that's some of the characters wore.
I would highly recommend this book for a fast pace reading.
I was rather disappointed be with this book. Simplistic writing style for a start, and the handling of many events didn't seem up to par. And then it finished off with one of the most common grammatical errors that drives me crazy. Good is an adjective (or noun), NOT an adverb!!!! Well is not just a word to designate a hole in the ground for water or oil. A presumably accomplished writer should certainly know this. All in all, a disappointing reading experience.
Good characters and a great starting story for this series. Thought the end was a bit abrupt yet I still want to read the next book! LoL. I would recommend for anyone who enjoys shifter stories. This one has all the neat mythical ones that you don't usually hear about so am looking forward to the next book.
Annie believes in true mates. Her father believes in political alliances instead. Using a spell she found Ram, her true mate. But what kind of shifter is he? In this world there are all types of shifters, however, many don't reveal themselves, particularly to other shifters. Evil is abound and they must unite.
Anything and everything you could ask for in the paranormal/ shifter universe, this series is it. Add in astrology, super hot sexy characters and an evil force bent on world domination and you got the trifecta of paranormal romance. Can't wait to read the next book.
Trying to think of something nice to say, but can’t. The premise of the story has potential, but this reads like an outline very high level does noting to bring a reader into the story. It’s also difficult to discern who’s speaking, juvenile references and who describes a sexy man with proportional feet?!? I just couldn’t finish it.
Rem is summoned out of his bed in the palace. Why his true mate a witch cast a spell for him. The Phoenix are here (Aries) and his leading the battle with his mate. Great book
I really enjoyed this story. The one thing i didn't get was why Annie didn't have any comment at all when she found out what Ram was. What I enjoyed the most was how the next story rolled right out of this one.
This is a good little story, full of adventure and romance. The story line is wonderful, but I feel it could be so much more. Looking forward to more in the series.
Awesomeness great adventure, mystery and suspenseful. Lets not forget romantic. Easy to read and follow storyline. Very enthusiastic Annie casts a spell to find her true mate, only she doesn't know their is a war brooding.
I did not enjoy the writing style of this book, it felt trite & amateur. The plot was the only thing that kept me reading but the story failed to go anywhere. Doubt I'll pick up this author again, the book didn't flow well enough for me.
Just not my cup of tea. Not sure if it is the fact I have not read any of the previous books in this series but I found this all over the place. It just didn’t grab me at all. Though I read to the end I still felt confused and unimpressed. Grabbed as a free read.
Fated Mates but things can still go awry. Her father is ambitious. He aims to pair his children with those who would give him the best political stance against the upcoming war. This is an exciting story with a very sweet couple.
Ok have read many of Crystal Dawns books and some were great, others were just ok. This one was just ok. The overall story arch was good, but the romance part between the couple lacked the closeness of some of her other books.
Title: Zodiac Shifters #7: Phoenix Under Fire: Ares Author: Crystal Dawn Publish Date: 21 March 2017 Independently published EBook Pages: 153 Story Line Concept: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Dialogue: ⭐️ Flow: ⭐️⭐️ Story Development: ⭐️⭐️ ***SPOILER ALERT*** This book is the story of Annie and Ram. Annie is an accomplished witch from a long bloodline of powerful witches. She is the eldest daughter in her family, and her father is “king” of the witches. A seer has seen a great battle in the future between evil and the paranormal world. Annie’s father is determined to solidify alliances to save his people. He’s decided his first daughter will be first, and lines up a marriage for her. Problems, the man he’s chosen is her sisters fated mate, and she has absolutely no desire to be married to either of her father’s choices. So, what’s a witch to do. On the advice of her mother, she spells for her fated mate.
Ram wakes up one morning with sand in all sorts of places and completely naked. Not knowing how on earth he has appeared on the beach in his birthday suit, he quickly steals some clothes and makes his way toward Orlando, which lucky for him, isn’t too far away, and one of the locations of headquarters for Phoenix International, which is his family company. Oh, and big shock, he’s a Phoenix shifter. Of course, he and his friend choose to contact the witches to figure out what kind of spell could have gotten him there. And of course, Annie shows up. Yup, you got it, they are fated mates.
Now the two must navigate the political crapfest that is her father’s world, and of course take on this new evil uprising. Ram just dives in, and finds answers that are right there, and starts to act. Among all this, the two fall in love, endure mating behind her father’s back taking away his bargaining power, a disgustingly over the top engagement ball, and of course an equally extravagant wedding. Oh, and make some in roads in the war on the evil Hubolla.
Now, really, the premise of this story is actually pretty good. I don’t really see how it fits into the rest of the Zodiac Shifters series that all these authors have put together, because other than defining their personalities by their zodiac sign, that’s really the only part that has anything to do with the zodiac. This story really has so much potential. The author needs to sit down with a good editor though, and really listen.
The dialogue throughout the book is awkward at best. It’s like robots talking. The storyline is very stilted. The climax just seems to happen, but it’s so ineffectual as a climax, you better be seriously paying attention, or you may wonder what on earth has just happened. I’ve read this one twice. When it first was published it was worse, so this second edition, seems to be better but still needs some serious improvement. There were also too many typos, however, like I said before the improvement here from the first time I read is notable.
I really wanted to just give this five stars, and when it comes to storyline concept, I can honestly do that, as long as I hadn’t read the second book in this particular world, by this author. Once I had read the second book, the storylines do not exactly match up, which makes it really confusing. Reading books with so much potential and not enough actualization, really makes me sad.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I read the whole story in one sitting and would recommend it to anyone that likes story's about fated mate with a twist. I looked for the next story after Annie's and Ram's story, were Annie cast a spell looking for Sophie's fated mate! I hope its in the works!!!!!
Title: Phoenix Under Fire Series:A Zodiac Shifters:Aries Book #7 Release Date: #AlreadyReleased Author:Crystal Dawn Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Genre: #PRN #4Stars☆☆☆☆ •••••••••••••••••••••••••• Another fantastic Zodiac book, all I can say is WOW. This author has gotten together with 6 others (heaven knows how many author's it will be) and started writing the signs. This is a Must Read. Ram is symbol of Aries which is ruled by Mars, God of War. Annie Worthington is a Witch who is three hundred and forth nine years od, lives in Orlando, Florida with her parents and sisters who are also witches. Annie is upset with her father, he is arranging her marriage to her sisters fated mate. Geeezzzzzz she's not old enough to do it on her own? So at her mother's advise she did a spell to find her fated mate. Ramiros aka: Ram is a Phoenix Shifter, his father Aha, is the only leader the Phoenix have ever had. Both his mother and father were Aries as he is. Ram lives on Phoenix Island in a Castle under the Ocean. One morning he wakes up naked on the beach full of sand. Thousand of miles from his home. He doesn't know how he got here, did he get drunk? He needed answers fast. Was he kidnapped? A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
Loved the mystery and love in this book ....Proves that fate makes no concession and that true love makes no distinctions. Doesn't matter if you don't know what he is, it's all him. Thus is the case for Annie, she is a very powerful witch, more so than even she realizes. When her father is about to arrange an alliance match for her, she decides she wants to find her true mate and it doesn't matter what he is, as long as he is her true mate.
Ramiros a prince among the Phoenix never thought his dream would land him on a beach with sand every where, must have been one heck of a night. A devout bachelor, he is not prepared for the beauty that walks into the offices of his family business ans she is his true mate. Now all he wants is to mate her and never leave her side, but she is a witch and not one of their kind, so he must take it slow. He can't even tell her what he is yet, but such is their love that she accepts him no matter what.
There is a prophecy foretold that is starting and all the paranormal must come together to nip it before it starts at all costs.A man named Hubolla plans on world domination and that can never be, paranormal thought to be myths by many must be located to join in stopping him.
This is going to be a series I will really enjoy reading, so many different paranormal and I love it.
This is a series that has many authors with standalone books. This book sounded interesting so I bought it and I am so glad I did. It was a page turner. I didn’t stop reading until I finished the book. It has romance and suspense. The major characters are fated mates and one father is not happy. He wants to make an advantageous marriage using his daughter. I have a “thing” about strong women in the books I read and his daughter is fairly strong at the beginning of this book.
Will Ram and Annie get their happily ever after or will her father destroy it? They are two different species of paranormal, how can they be fated mates. Grab your copy today!
