Demons After Dark: A Primani World Crossover Series
Introducing the Demons after Dark series. It’s hot paranormal romance featuring unlikely alpha heroes who will make you laugh, cry, and swoon. Known only as Trinity demons, this band of brothers was stripped of their powers and violently exiled from Hell. Forced to live as humans, they’re left with no memories and no weapons while a secret society quietly plots Lucifer’s demise. For these big, bad demons, adjusting to life as a human is, well, harder than Hell!
A former shrink in Hell's SuperMax prison, Benn’s positive he’s lost his damn mind when he wakes up in the body of an uptight antiquities professor. One glance in the mirror and he knows he’s not in Hell anymore. After he’s brought into Expat Security, he’s handed a mission he can’t refuse if he wants to get home again. Explore Rome, raft into jungles, and risk life and brand new limbs? Sounds like his idea of Heaven! There’s only one problem. He can’t do the job without the help of a beautiful grad student who can’t stand the sight of him. He may not remember their past, but he’s ready to make their present a whole helluva lot more fun.
Grad student Lainey Hayes has done everything she can to escape her mother’s embarrassing world of psychics and palm readers. Throwing herself into her studies, she’s perfectly happy until she’s assigned to a special project with the egotistical, narrow-minded, and condescending Professor Daniels. The smug academic discounts anything and everything related to the paranormal--including her mother. The idea of spending months tramping through ruins with him sounds like her vision of Hell, but she’s shocked to discover this adrenaline junkie with a zest for life is nothing like the jackass she remembered.
Warning: This story contains snort out loud humor, intensely hot sex, an irresistible hero, and a damsel with a steel backbone. The author takes no responsibility for missed work or grouchiness from lack of sleep.
Laurie Olerich is the author of the new Primani series. Part romance, part paranormal, part adventure...Three things she can’t live without! Laurie spent most of her life in the Northeastern United States and in Western Europe. She now lives in San Antonio, Texas, with her son and Dalmatian duo, Domino and Rambo. Desperate to escape the heat, she lives vicariously through Mica and her Primani by setting their adventures in the mountain coolness of New England and the rainy days of London. Before throwing caution to the wind and diving into a writing career, Laurie dedicated 20 years to her country by serving in the United States Air Force. Much of her time was spent around men with guns and cool toys...this explains her obsession with both.
Wow, this was an exciting book. I don't remember smiling or laughing so much in a long time. Benn is such a refreshing character, he is all bad a@# but still a little kid that gets excited about the simplest things. Lainey was the perfect counter part, while she did have a fun side she was more brains than brawn. I just loved the whole Indian Jones reference and found my self humming the tune as they walked through the jungles. Lots of action, some scary revelations that will blow your mind and excitement that does not stop. More information is provided to keep you on your toes, a trip to the Vatican , assassins popping out of thin air, a fun run across the top of Rome and a boat trip into the jungle will definitely keep you glued to your seat. This is a complicated series, there are a lot of different players and agendas on the table. This author did an amazing job pulling the reader into this amazing world she created. The twist on demons and angles is unique and will make even the religious think twice. The twists and turns that are provided will blow your mind , leaving you yelling" no way" and begging this author to write quicker as you are left with questions and really want the answers. I volunteered to read this story for my honest opinion.
Hell is under attack. There is an ancient artifact that is out there that can kill Lucifer. Vanek and his team need to find it first in order to save Hell and stop a civil war from breaking out and spilling over to the human plane.
Benn is a psychiatrist for Hell (who knew there are psychiatrists in Hell). He has be given a task from Raphael to find the artifact because his transporter is a specialist in artifacts. He needs help because he didn’t get any memories from professor Daniels.
Lainey is a research assistant that has a history with Professor Daniels. She doesn’t know that Daniels has turned into Benn. She still thinks that he is the jerk she met a long time ago. Lainey also has the ability to sense when someone is telling the truth or not and it doesn’t help that Benn has to lie to her.
Book 2 takes this series to the next level. I love how Benn is slightly awkward and tries to fix his relationship with Lainey even though it was Daniels that wronged her. I also found that Lainey was adorable. She is head strong and willing to do what it takes to achieve her dreams. I also really like the interactions between all the demons. They know what is at stake for the world but they still manage to show that they are more than coworkers that they are family. I really love where Laurie is taking this series and can’t wait to see where it goes from here.
I really liked this book in the series. There was just something about the main characters that spoke to me. Benn has taken over his transport being without knowing what he's done in the past life. As all demons, they may or may not get their transporters memories. OBVIOUSLY he did not, or he would not have reached out to Lainey to be his research assistant. We go a really long while to get just a piece of what happened, and that wasn't a very fulfilling piece of knowledge, but it's not as horrible as what the author leads us to think what might have happened! Some of the 'research' during the book is a little long in the tooth, but this story read better than the first IMHO. I'm looking forward to the next.
This world continues to get interesting. The backstory is becoming more twisted as the Trinity demons try to save the world. Lainey has her dreams for her future. They do not include Benn. I found her to be a very intrepid young woman, willing to take chances and enjoy life. Benn's enthusiasm for risk taking and living to the fullest made him a fun character, especially as his insanity rubs off on Lainey. All the secondary characters are interesting and very involved in the story as it plays out. There are some very dark aspects to the story, but I could not stop reading. I look forward to the next in the series.
I received a copy of this story through Candid Book Reviews, and this is my unsolicited review.
Spinning off from Primani, Demons After Dark continues with Benn's story. I don't think I was really expecting his story to be next but it works. Benn is another of the demons stripped of powers and exiled from Hell. The story is fast-paced and enjoyable. It was interesting seeing Benn the upbeat positive shrink from the SuperMax, realize as a human his host was a jerk. Now he must try and convince Lainey to travel with him to find a relic. Lainey has been burned by 'Benn' and must decide if she can trust him enough to work on this once in a lifetime research to find the relic. With so much on the line, I look forward to reading more of demons and their quest to prevent all Hell breaking loose, literally. I voluntarily reviewed Benn as an advanced copy from the author.
Benn wakes up and knows he isn't where he is supposed to be any more. Stuck in the body of an antiquities professor is not where he wants to be especially with none of the professors memories to help with his new mission. Luckily Lainey is just what he needs, even though she can't stand him. I am totally falling for the demons in this new series, and I didn't think it was possible after loving the Primani so much. Benn and Koivu are awesome, and I can't wait for Koivu's book. The demon needs some lovin bad!! Lainey was amazing and took everything so well after her little talking to. LOVED the scene in the nightclub!!
Benn (Demons After Dark Book 2) by Laurie Olerich Benn is the 2nd in the spin off series Demons After Dark from the Primani Series. I enjoyed the banter, the Indiana Jones like adventures, and the fast solid relationship that Lainey and Benn develop after a rough start. Benn has been ousted into the human world, and is dropped into the body of Lainey's professor who had destroyed her. After she realizes the professor and Benn are not the same, they are sent on a trip to find a relic to save the world. Laurie is a great author who can be counted on for great story. She keeps getting better with each book. I received an ARC for an honest review.
Globetrotting Indiana Jones style, vivid characters, fight scenes that put you right in the action, and scorching chemistry. This story is fast paced and full of laughs, surprises and great characters. This author has the wonderful ability to draw you in right from the start and you just can't put these stories down! I loved that Benn had a fun adventure loving side, he and Lainey brought out the best in each other. From a band of demons banished to earth, mad dashes to find one of a kind antiquities, and intimate scenes that burn off the pages, this is one you don't want to miss!
holy bloody wow.. omg.. i like seriously have no words here i have to figure this review out and i have no words.. this was... amazing! i truly didnt think the second would be better then the first but it was.. a psychiatrist in hell cracks me up.. i laughed.. i smiled.. i thought about throwing my kindle against the wall.. my emotions were everywhere and i felt like i needed Benn to come be my pyschiatrist lol.. I love how shy and adorable benn is especially with lainey. this was all together superb and i loved it
I have been a fan of Ms. Olerich's work from the beginning, and I can honestly say her writing just gets better and better. Ben is an amazing story full of action, hot romance, and adventure. Her settings are beautifully well written and the characters make you love them from the first page. I can't wait for Koivu to come out so that I can continue to indulge myself with her wonderful characters and story.
Enjoyed this addition to the series. Lainey is a spitfire & Benn is lethal except when dealing with her. There is full of action and adventure. I haven't been able to put much of the mystery (puzzle) of this series together though, I think because I get so caught-up with the action-lol.
I received this book from Candid Book Reviews in exchange for an honest review.
Second book in the Demons after Dark and I know this is going on my to be re-read shelf, this book is just as good as the last one . I am looking forward to the next one.The interaction between Benn and Lainey kept me wanting to know what would happen next. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily choosing to review it.
Great story fun to read. Another demon is sent to the body of professor Daniels. He gets mugged ans the other demons get him out of the hospital. They are after an artifact trying to reach it before some bad guys. They hire Lainey because she can read ancient languages. She is mad at Benn because of something that happened when he was human. Fun, great chemistry, adventure and trauma.
I am really liking this series and like that they brought Vanek (from first book) into this story as well. I love to read what positions the characters held while working in SuperMax. I will be purchasing the next book in the series!
Fantastically sexy book. Amazing storyline with relatable characters. A major page turner and I couldn't wait to devour every page until I'd finished it.
Loved Benn!!! I liked the bits of the softer side of him! Adrenaline junkie! Lainey was just the right gal for him. Great chemistry! The night club scene was HOT!!! Can't wait for Koivu!!
Laurie, these adventures continue to get better. Now I can't wait for Koivu! Fall 2017 can't get here fast enough! Thank you for the entertaining adventures.
Original, llena de acción y humor. Es muy fácil empatizar con los protagonistas, y los secundarios ayudan a profundizar en la historia y te hacen querer saber más sobre ellos. Redondo.
Great second story in the series. Loved the H/h and their interactions. Full of action, adventure, suspense, laughs and hot demon love. Worth the read. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
In the continuation of this awesome series we get the love story of Ben And Lainey. They weren't the perfect couple at the beginning of this awesome book. She having met him before. He was her mentor. Her teacher and she also fell for him until he totally showed her his true arrogant colours. She had been called in to assist on an archeological adventure that was right up her ally.
Benn havering been spit out of Hell rather abruptly finds himself in a hospital after falling down a flight of stairs. New body with his own memories but not those of his new meatbag.
New mission for the boys. Rafael (yes the yummy Primani boys boss) needs to find a relic before another group finds it first so it could prevent his brother Lucifer being killed.
As soon as Lainey finds out that the person she is going to be closely working with is the Mr A**hole Daniels. The one and only one she despises!!
This is a wonderful ride!! Love this couple together!! Can it wait to read more from these new boys!!
This was a seat of your pants, good vs evil plot. Yes even demons can be good when they side with archangles. Loved it. This was a up all night to finish it good. Thank you Laurie Olerich, another feather in your cap.
Benn is so much fun. Initially, I thought Lainey was like me- studious, career oriented. But, she's way more adventurous than me. As they traveled to the Vatican, it reminded me of what would happen if Indiana Jones and the professor from The Da Vinci worked together. The camaraderie between the group made it fun to read. The growing romance made it smoulder. This series brought in talk of the Primani and was visited by Raphael. The Demons After Dark series is definitely less YA than the Primani series and both are enjoyable.
Benn was a shrink at SuperMax but as part of the Trinity Demons he is stripped of his powers and wakes up in the body of an uptight antiquities professor. Lainey Hayes is a grad student trying to escape her mystic roots when she is signed to a special project which involves exploring Rome, rafting into jungles but it's with egotistical, narrow-minded, and condescending Professor Daniels. It all seems like hell for her but she’s shocked to discover this adrenaline junkie with a zest for life is nothing like the jackass she remembered.
This is a charming story with drama and lots of action mixed into a story that is connected to the Primani world. It was also a charming love story between two people which was well written and very addictive. As I read it I was reading faster and faster as I needed to know what happened next. I loved the ending which definitely made me smile.
I am a huge fan of the Primani series so I love that you still get reminders of the characters and even some visits in this new series. This is the second book about demons who have been banished to Earth in other bodies. You can definitely read it as a standalone. I do recommend you read them in order and check out the Primani series too.
Benn was a psychiatrist who is now in the body of a college professor and researcher. The man was not very nice and Benn almost lost his chance to have Lainey work with him and the other demons on a special task because of the bad treatment from the former host of the body. Once she is aware of their real mission, she is ready for an adventure too.
Benn is a lot more easygoing than Vanek from the first book. He is so interested in learning about things and exploring these new countries. Lainey has a mom who is a psychic so she has some familiarity with the supernatural but nothing like this world. I was impressed with her ability to adapt. They make a really good couple. I liked how they teased each other too. It was a nice contrast to all the danger.
There is a lot of action in the story. The visit to the Vatican is really fascinating. You never knew what to expect. The ending leaves you wanting to read the next book and solve some of the mysteries.
This is a novel full of adventure, travel, supernatural, paranormal, action and romance!! Benn and his crew members from work in hell have been framed for trying to kill Lucifer and they are banished and marked as Trinity Demons to the top side; earth, in the bodies of humans who but with their memories of being demons. Some of them their memories recover quickly others it does not. Benn remembered the instant he woke up on earth.
Benn was the psychiatrist in hell and has a very influential demon family and he doesn't understand how that could happen to him. is found by Vanek and together with the other they are on the search for the weapon that their enemies are searching for to kill Lucifer.
Lainey is approached to work with him and the other demons but he is in the body of a man who wronged her in the past and she finally decided to work with them until she finds out that they are demons and Raphael the Arch Angel had to convince her to stay and help!
The chemistry between her and Benn is instant and that whirl wind of a romance is better left for you to read the book it is HOT! They go on a wild adventure and face many dangers and some wild hot fun along the way!!
The Primani Series as well as the first book in this one is awesome reads also and they do have several characters from the Primani Series in this one!! You will love them all!!
Known only as Trinity demons, this band of brothers was stripped of their powers and violently exiled from Hell. Wrongly accused of an unthinkable crime, they’re left to survive with no memories and no weapons while a secret society quietly plots Lucifer’s demise. All is not lost though. Between some heavenly interference and the love of a few good women, the Trinity just might make it home before all Hell breaks loose. The new series continues with Benn and Lainey.
A former shrink in SuperMax, Benn’s positive he’s lost his damn mind when he wakes up in the body of an uptight antiquities professor. One glance in the mirror and he knows he’s not in Hell anymore. I was given a complimentary copy of this book to read and write my honest opinion and this is it. Another great book by Laurie Olerich!!!!! I have to say that i love her Primani Series and now i have fallen in love with her Demon Series! A page turner with an evil vs good plot and lots of twists. Definetely a series that you want to read!!!!
I didn't think it was possible, but I think I love demons! I'm loving Laurie's, Demons After Dark series! Maybe more than my beloved Primani. Big shock! I know. I seriously can't wait for the next book!!!!!!!!! Great job, AGAIN Laurie Olerich!!!!!
