I really enjoyed reading it but I still wanted a bit more from Trey and Sadie <3
And the writing style reminds me or Ward BDB, inserting too many characters and romances that smother up the main story :(
Not saying I hated the other romances but I just wanted moooooooore of the main couple :(
So here's my opinion of the most important things:
Trey and Sadie
I have loved them since book one. I've been dying to read their book for ages.
Finally, we see their happy ever after here.
The beginning was amazing and intense and I loved everything that was happening between them.
The ending I kinda saw coming but it was good I guess.
I just wish we saw more of them :(((
Maybe I was expecting so much because it's THEIR book but even though I loved all the scenes between them, I still wanted a bit more :(
Everything was settled too fast I guess.
Oh but one PLUS!
No more screaming in pain after sex :DDD ahahhahhhah I was so happy to see it all go differently <3
The other romances
Literally!!!
In the previous books we got just hints about romances to come and I was uber-excited about them, but here, we got too many scenes around other characters, and even though I loved most those scenes, I just wanted more of Trey and Sadie :(((
Anyway, we will get teasers for Nathan, Cade, Kinsley and one other character I won't name :))
I just hope the author will be writing them fast ahahhahahahha
I can't wait for Kinsley's book <3
Oh and I always love seeing Diskant again but Ava kinda got on my nerves here hahahahahahha
The epilogue
This was the most confusing part of the book.
I don't get his angle or anything concerning him or his book or just anything!
But I'm curious. Uber curious. It has potential :))))))

Pretty sure I'll be skipping right over her book when she gets one. Whatever her story is...
I loved Nathan, but Leigh drove me nuts, and she was only a secondary character. Not sure I can tolerate a whole book with her whiny ass. Unless she undergoes a complete personality change, doubt I'd be reading that book.

That epilogue threw me for a loop. I don't even know how I feel about that. I do know that I'm very excited for his book, because there's one thing that I like more than a dirty talker, a baddie that's also a dirty talker *swoon*
Overall, I enjoyed it, though it won't be my favorite in the series. I've been anticipating this book since Omega Mine. Maybe it was partly setting my hopes too high. Maybe it was that it was overrun by too many other POV's and that took away from Trey and Sadie. I just wanted...more from this one.

I hate to do this, but I am just so disappointed in this book! The beginning was promising, but I wasn't exactly following the intensity of the story...I felt like I was missing something, because I remember being SO INTO Trey and Sadie's story during the last two books. And I kept waiting for it to happen here, but it just never came. I mean...the excitement never came. Sadie and Trey came multiple times, and just as Aline Hunter does in every book, her sex scenes were amazing and so, so hot. But that was about it.
~~First off...the plot. What was the plot again? I'm pretty sure the entire book was simply about Trey and Sadie accepting each other, and the pack accepting them as well. That's it. Aldon, the "villain", plays such a little part in this story...and I'm not even sure he's actually a villain. Was he just thrown in for some action? Because he didn't actually DO anything. Nothing at all. Except be present to cause a fuss for a blip. The only people that did anything were actually pretty stagnant characters as well. The pack...you know, those people who join together against the rest of the world for protection and brotherhood? Yeah, they didn't do that. They all ganged up on Trey, including Diskant and Ava, the city's Omega. What the hell was that all about? What a downer! No one has their back!
~~Second...the villain. Oh, yeah...I already went there. What villain?
~~Third...the world building and scene setup. It seems the world building is over for the series. There are vamps, all kinds of shape shifters, some magic...DONE. The scenes and description were almost nonexistent as well. Most of the story is spent in two different locations...both houses. That's enough of the setup there, as well, I guess. House. DONE.
What I felt got a lot of attention was the couples that I'm assuming will get to star in future books. Much like this couple had a lot of face time in the first two books, there are three (possibly four) couples that have some really interesting stories going on. In fact, I'd like to read their stories right now. But the fact that they got so much face time meant that Trey and Sadie got cheated. And Leigh...PLEASE tell me this chick is going to change before she gets a story. Nathan deserves better than a twelve year old whiny girl.
Boy, I sound bitter, don't I? I just anticipated this book so much, and I feel so bummed now. Honestly, I had to go back to Enemy Mine and read Sadie and Trey's parts over again to try to capture what it was I was so stoked about. Because I just never felt it in this book. And yeah, after going back, I got a little more into the story. But then the plot unfocused onto all of the secondary characters and I lost it again. The only time that this couple ever really connects is during sex...where does the love come from? They don't even know each other.
I'm sorry.
I'm rambling.
I honestly think that had the author kept Sadie and Trey's story in ONE book, with maybe a little intro used as a plot setup in previous books, that this book would have packed more of a punch. But the exciting parts of their relationship were used up before we ever got their book.
Suffice it to say, I was very, very underwhelmed.

I have to admit I was quite disappointed in this book. I had such huge expectations for this story and the characters, and what seemed to happen was that the story got lost and instead the readers were given "a whole lot of" sucking and (pardon my language) f&*king.
I know, I know this is erotica, but COME ON!
What really frustrated me was that every time Trey and Sadie were meant to have a 'serious' discussion, they ended up ripping each others clothes off, having sex, and BOOM everything was then a whole lot better in the world (well not really, they just didn't seem to care as much).
These two superior creatures were supposed to be the leaders of their races, as well as elders, but when "mating" calls.. apparently all thoughts and reason fly out the window.
.. and in the end I don't even know what the story was about because absolutely nothing was resolved. The Sheppard's are still hunting them, and Aldon's still an enemy.
I really, really wanted to love this book, and was SO looking forward to reading it, but in the end I felt cheated by the author... too bad because I absolutely loved the first two books in the series.
I hope the next book in the series is better (and there better be a next book, so we can get some bloody answers).. we'll see.

My Thoughts:
Every since I found out about Trey and Sadie, I have been hooked and couldn't wait for their story. Well, me and everyone else but for some reason, I couldn't get to their story when it came out and then the review and ratings started trickling in and imagine my disappointment.
It was getting maybe three stars...WTH? I think I just tried to put it out of mind especially since I didn't read the reviews. And it got to be where I was not wanting to read it but it kept taunting me until I finally caved. ~Sigh~
The ratings were right...and I hated that they were. What happened? Trey and Sadie's story had such great potential! The vampire and the werewolf...what could be better?
Well, I think this was a case of having too many eggs in the basket and definitely a case of middlebook-itis. There are just too many storylines going on! And too many interesting characters. I definitely think that AH could have thinned that out. We don't need to know about everyone now...or at least we don't need to know as much.
I think as a middle book, you have to make time for the ongoing back story but again, I don't think it has to overtake the main story and that's exactly what happened. The problem is I need to know more about Thomas and the necklace, Diskant and Ava, Emory and Mary and what's going on with the Shepherds.
The one good thing was we got a lot of sex scenes...unfortunately, that's about all we got out of Trey and Sadie and most of the time they were in a rush! I also think some of the rules changed...or else I missed something because I don't think the "third bond" ever happened? And there was definitely no pain involved...maybe that was a vampire thing? It just felt off.
And while I'm sad about not having more Trey and Sadie, I'm excited about some of the other stories:
Nathan and Leigh seem like they could have a good story, that whole I want you but I don't want you theme.
Aldon and Olivia is another. I'm really drawn to Aldon and want to know more of his story but I'm also intrigued by Olivia and her secrets. Also since Aldon is sort of a bad guy, it's an even bigger draw.
Zach and ??? Is there another mate? There's something brewing there.
Cade and Destiny, the conjurer,...another one that is fascinating especially since we haven't had much dealings with conjurers.
and the best for last...Kinsley and Persephone, well, I can't wait for this one especially being in Caledonia!
So, minus stars for not enough story for the main couple but plus stars for several interesting new stories hopefully to come. I'll definitely be reading the next one, Immortal Hunter. There's nothing listed about it and I'm leaning towards Aldon but Kinsley would be fine by me too! *Fingers crossed* that AH gets back on track.

Ok... I couldn't freaking wait for this one to come out..... Trey and Sadie just oooozed chemistry in the last book and they certainly didn't lack for chemistry here.. but there was just too much other stuff going on to get fully invested in them. The big distraction was Leigh and her "issues". She took to much time away from Trey and Sadie's story in my opinion. If she'd been interesting and strong then I would have been ok with her part.. but she's whiney and bitchy and just a bore. Sadie feels the need to protect Leigh with everything she has and all I wanted Sadie to do was kick her ass.. but I LOVED seeing Diskant and Ava again.. my favorite couple in this series so far. The sexy times between Trey and Sadie were just smokin hot... I mean come on.. you get a vamp and a wolf together and there's bound to be some serious action. They didn't disappoint in that aspect.. and I still did love Sadie and Trey.. I just felt this book didn't take enough time to focus on them and broaden their story a bit. Trey and Sadies story needed less Leigh and they could have done something more with Aldon.. he was there and supposed to be a really baddy, but he was never really developed into the badass he's supposedly supposed to be. We'll see more of him later and I'm looking forward to that.. Also, definitely looking forward to Kingsly's story.. now that panther is crazy hot. I love this series, and although this book didn't live up to its full potential, I'm still really looking forward to the next book in this series. This is one of those series that can go on for a long time.. so many potential stories building up and I love how Aline gives us a hint in each book of future hook ups. I would still read this one if you love this series like I do since you'll get to see past couples and you'll get to see the hints at future couples.. but I definitely would NOT start out with this one. I think this series would definitely be enjoyed more read in order. So although this book wasn't a hit with me, the series still is and the series itself is a must read for anyone who loves the para romance with some super hot alpha's..

Well,I finally finished this book! It took me 5 freaking days to read Trey and Sadie's story.
I liked,but not loved this book.I came away from this read feeling,well,not satisfied one bit.There was too much going on with other couples involved and the focus was taken away from the main couple.That being said,I was more intrested in their stories to give my attention to the mc.
Poor Nathan,Trey's beta,he is mated to a stupid,whiney vamp,he deserved much better,he was pussy whipped and not in a good way.I wish his mate was someone else. Maybe their story will explain it all and Nathan can go back to who he was in Omega Mine.
The rest of the gang,I can see their stories looming.Kinsley,I rec you are up next,looking forward to that one.

I HATE that I didn't love this. And I REALLY hate that not only did I not love it, I didn't really even like it. SADZ.>
I don't want to include spoilers, so I will just make a few broad statements:
First, I feel like Trey was emasculated in this book. He gets his ass handed to him a couple of times during fights and Sadie has to come to his rescue. I get that she's all vampire/strong female and all that jazz, but Trey is supposed to be the freakin ALPHA for God's sake.
Also, I feel like the pack's reaction to Trey/Sadie carried way too much weight and Trey and Diskant seemed to have no control over them - also very non-Alpha.
Speaking of Diskant, some things he said and did bothered me in this book and both he and Ava came off as somewhat hypocritical in my eyes - especially in light of the fact that Diskant stepped down as Alpha and fled the city for AVA.
Most of all though, I just felt like Trey and Sadie's story was smothered to death by all the other things happening in this book. All of a sudden, there were all these side characters with separate back stories and story lines and it was distracting.
Being that the build up for the Trey/Sadie story arched over the two previous books in the series, I feel like - when it finally came time for them to shine in the their own book here - they got side swiped off the main road by all the surrounding traffic.

Being that the build up for the Trey/Sadie story arched over the two previous books in the series, I feel like - when it finally came time for them to shine in the their own book here - they got side swiped off the main road by all the surrounding traffic.
Maybe my expectations were too high, but overall I felt very disappointed in this book after looking forward to it for so long. I feel like Trey and Sadie got cheated.

because finally i got Trey and Sadie story. It was a good start,first chapter im hooked!!!!
The middle of it, im like..
I have to look again the book if im reading same book. So many stories mentioned,different POV from secondary characters. Which i think will be a great story,but should be in separate book. This is Trey & Sadie"s book for God's sake!!
Finally, near end of book, focus on Trey and Sadie. I really can't get enough of them. I like Trey in first and second installment of the book, I'm excited to know their HEA. I am so curious for vampire and wolf love story. At least the author didn't disappoint me(for some part of book only). Though there were so many involved in this book, the story was still great. The action was awesome. Well the steam, no need to say, they are wolf. Sureness it's hot!! I enjoyed Diskant and Ava. They are may fave couple in the series. Overall I enjoyed it.

Sadly, this was my least favorite in this series which is kind of a bummer to say because i really enjoyed the last two and i was SO looking forward to this one!! I don't think it was awful though, i've def. read WAY WORSE than this and as a whole, this really is a great PNR series!! I think the problem was that there were too many good moments and build up to Trey and Sadie's story in previous books that when we finally got to their book it just fell kind of flat...all the really good stuff was already used up. :/
The action and suspense was alright, not uber exciting but alright. The sex, as usual, was smokin'! I think what it was lacking was the angst and romance...it was pretty much non-existent except for a tiny bit in the beginning. There was just too much stuff going on for them to have any sort of focus on their relationship, so i agree with others...they were cheated a little bit.
Having said that, the other side stories were quite intriguing and i'm very much looking forward to all the books that are apparently going to be coming out for these characters...
Cade...i completely forgot about the conjurer he'd escorted for Diskant, will be interesting to see what happened during that time!
Poor Nathan...obviously his and Leigh's road to happiness isn't going to be a quick one! :(
Kinsley...the sexy Scottish cat shifter!...his side story was a surprise!...and it also appears that he's got his work cut out for him!
...and what was UP with that epilogue!? Is he bad or not!? Gah...i'm so confused...but i can't wait to find out!! There were way too many stories left unfinished and too many questions left unanswered!
Here's hoping Aline Hunter isn't going to make us wait an entire year between each book!!

This seems to be the mantra repeated. Throughout this the book, several males are put in the path of their mates, or...their destinies.
"After tonight, you’ll never see me again."
“Once I find you, you’re mine. There’s no running from me.”
Particularly, to understand the love between Trey, a shifter, and Sadie, a vampire, the reader has to read book 1 and book 2 of this series. Really. This is because this book immediately starts with Sadie in trouble, which produces a rather interesting outlook of the book's would be villain, before Trey comes in to save her.
After this initial wollop of a scene, the couple leads off from their encounters in the previous books. Things said between them have history that isn't rehashed, so if the reader doesn't know, it could be a little vague and confusing. Onward, the couple has a few minor inner monologue tiffs about "who doesn't want who,""who desires who," and whether this mating is a "go." Just for the record, it's a go! Sadie and Trey go at each other and this is made more erotic, in my opinion, because Sadie has to feed from her mate. This element combined with Sadie's magic, and her warrior princess-like readiness, makes her appear more alpha than Trey in this relationship.
Trey is alpha by default due to Diskant's relinquishment of the role and his priorities as Omega. Trey is also alpha of a pack who has just recently lost a quarter of members from discordance and apathy. This disadvantage is made worse by not only his mating a vampire, but his beta also mating one as well. This is not good for pack politics, but who cares about that when there a bigger threats?
First, Diskant's mate Ava has a missing brother who holds a relic, the zephyr, which is passed down by family and is said to have the power to END things. Newsflash: Sadie's coven, a master vampire mage and others want this zephyr thingie in order to gain this ultimate power.Second, Sadie can see the bad future or some such and she relays this info to Diskant et.al. This produces a frenzy, added on is a crazy person who is also Trey's Beta's mate who is a target because she can help locate the zephyr. However, keeping her under wraps proves tedious and tiresome.Third, in order to to succeed, Team Diskant & Half-Wolfpack need the help of Kinsley, a mysterious centuries old Were-Panther. Kinsley's help will mobilize other shifters to the cause.
Now this is all well and good. It's PNR at its best: intricate conflict, an abundance of magical supernaturals in the mix, and the threat of world disaster. Yet, what is NOT all good is the delaying of resolution and the additional focus on four more potential subplots, the author's way of continuing the series and making the reader anticipate the fate of four other men. So,we get the point of views of Nathan, Cade, Kinsley and Zach--four males in strife about either love or revenge.
Main couple? Who?
There were so many names in my head by a certain point that it's a wonder I remembered "Trey" & "Sadie". Even Trey didn't know Sadie's last name until 58% of the story. Incidentally, I don't recall Trey's last name right now.(crossing eyes)
Do you wonder how Sadie and Trey's love, their relationship growth and their chemistry held up amidst all that drama?I'd tell ya, but I really don't have much to go by. Trey is left helpless a couple of times because he had to "feed" his mate in battle. Yet, the two are not given time to address that issue. Furthermore, there are telltale limitations as well as epiphanies of their "type" of mating, which aren't given enough emphasis, IMO.
Thank goodness for the few sexy scenes where Sadie came off as a confident mate willing to please her alpha-cough-but beautifully beta Trey. LOL. Other than those tiny scorchers, which were peppered with one or the other mate thinking "you complete me" & "I'll take this happiness for now", I was left wondering how these two would actually do as a couple without the interruptions. Fortunately, we get a cute scene where Sadie has to face the pack on a second try and she has an endearing exchange with one of the children. It's the only treat thrown to us as a glimpse of how she could actually fair within the pack as they gradually accepted her.
And....just like that, with another snap of the fingers, at 91% we are given YET ANOTHER storyline. Remember the would be villain? Well, he is not all he seems (as any deft reader could predict from the start). This guy's(& his mate's) PoV pushes into the mix and it is kind of ...well...HAWTT, if a bit much, at this point. I got singed more from his story than I did from the snippets of Trey & Sadie. Sad to say, but true.

I don't quite know where Aline Hunter is trying to go with this series, but she has definitely shown many possible directions.

I know it wasn't all that long ago since I read this but had started reading the next in the series Alpha Mine and realised that I had forgotten some of the events and happenings that was crucial to that, so had to re-read this to bring myself up to speed.
I enjoyed this just as much the second time around and thought it well worth the time it took to re-read.....Now back to 'Alpha Mine'

This is the third book in Aline Hunter’s Alpha & Omega series, and things are really starting to get interesting now! This book has a bit of an ‘in-between’ feel to it. There is the continuation of old storylines, a number of new threads set up, and there isn’t a whole lot of resolution to the ongoing conflicts faced by the characters. But we do get the culmination of a love story that has been brewing from the very first book.
Trey is the Alpha of the New York City werewolf pack. I have loved him from the moment I met him, and he has been through some hard times so far in the series. Things got even more complex for him in the last book when he discovered that a ‘Phantom’ that he sensed near him, calming him and providing comfort when he needed it was actually a real woman. And not only was she real, but upon meeting her he instantly recognised her as his mate – the one woman he is destined to be with forever.
I really like Sadie! She’s a bit badass, has mad fighting skills, and isn’t afraid to speak her mind.
And despite her trailing Trey around the city, she actually isn’t a stalker. Well, she kind of is, but she’s discrete about it, and her heart is in the right place. She’s been in love with Trey for years, and occasionally follows him around the city, watching over him and offering protection where she can. Things between them looked to be coming to a happy ending until Trey discovered that Sadie is a vampire - enemy of the shifters, and somebody that would never be accepted in his world. So he dismissed her, breaking her heart, and leaving himself broken without her.
This book begins months later, and Trey has realised that he can’t live without Sadie, and is finally ready to claim his woman. When he discovers that she is in trouble, he pulls out all of the stops to come to her rescue, and when he finds her, he sees that her feelings for him haven’t changed, and he is determined to make things right.
Yep, he is one determined Alpha, and he goes all out to let Sadie know how he feels about her, and earn her trust, and it is beautiful! And not just that, but he has to deal with the drama of bringing his vampire mate into the shifter world, and he isn’t about to take any shit from anybody about it, handling it in true badass style.
But Trey can definitely bring the swoon, and I love the way he sets about proving himself to Sadie. Of course the sex is absolutely scorching - dirty and explicit as always - but he is also beatifully sweet, romantic, possessive, and uber-protective, and the love story is really gorgeous.

I like the way this series is mixing up their romances. A shifter and a vampire together brings some new dynamics to the story, and provides some conflict, including the most epic of put downs when Sadie declares somebody the “ignorant thundercunt from hell”. LMAO!
But while the love story is definitely there, it takes a bit of a back seat and isn’t as prominent as it has been in previous books. Part of me was happy with this, because I thought the non-romance storyline was lacking in the first book, although it did built a bit in the second. I feel like this book is branching out and setting the scene for the rest of the series and I was happy to see the story expanding a bit to include other things happening in their paranormal world, and so much is going on!! There is the drama around Ava’s brother, the ongoing battle against the Shepherds, hints at the dangers surrounding a mysterious conjurer, as well as the emergence of a new bad guy, and some changes in wolf politics. It all seems a bit chaotic at times, but it does tie in, and I’m looking forward to seeing how everything plays out. Although I would have liked more time with Trey and Sadie on their own, the next book in the series is the continuation of their story, so I’m happy that we get to see a bit more of them.
We get some more Diskant and Ava and Emory and Mary, and there is also a lot of set up for future books in the series. Hot diggity dang I'm loving this series! This may be my favorite so far because not only are Trey and Sadie amazing characters, but Hunter is setting up 3 other couples for their stories and I can't wait! Man I hate it when I enjoy a series this much because I want everyone's story like yesterday!

What i expected was that Sadie would keep her promise and Trey would chase her. But sadly what we expect is not what we get.
Reason why this book didn't work for me-
Too many things going on;
1,Trey X Sadie - didn't meet my expectations
2,Nathan X Leigh(Psst, i didn't like her) - hope Nathan gets another girl
3,Leigh- has issue or someone dropped her on her head when she was a kid.
She doesn't want Nathan..
4,Cade is hiding something
5,Kinsley is upto something
Is it just me or did all the guys remind me of high school jocks. their conversation, behaviour etc. AH tries to portray them as handsome, arrogant men but she kinda missed something..i expected a lot from Trey.
But he just...... fell short..
6,Villain - badass quotient debatable
7,Saving the world plot- which happens after they sort all their issues ofcourse well hope it won't be too late..
By the time i got through the story line..
oh yeah, don't forget the Epilogue

I never thought my love for Diskant and Ava could drop to second place.
I REALLY love Trey!!
Sadie is fucking amazing!
Their whole mating is forbidden, frowned upon with him being a werewolf and she a vampire. But gosh the chemistry and their encounter?
Their sex were just awesome, wild, rough - I mean shit...I forgot about book 1 and 2!!
I love how Trey stepped up and accepted his mate, and how it turned around in the sense he had to prove his worth to her. That's a real man right there, and because of that, I freakin' love him!
I really couldn't stand Ava OR Mary in this book. I sympathized with Mary in the previous book, but she never really stand out and in this book, and how she acted towards Sadie? Bitch was out of place.
With Ava...I mean I understand she's pregnant, protective and all that shit but I still hate how she took things. And the excuses for why she did it? Ugh, welcome bitch number 2.
Sadie held her ground though. When she literally broke down, I felt broken too. She gave up so much to be with her mate - they ought to know it's not easy. <_<
I hate how this book had so little of Trey and Sadie though. NEED MORE!!

4.5 Stars!! Aline Hunter has once again delivered another great book in the Alpha and Omega series.
I had been waiting patiently to get my hands on Trey and Sadie's book Vampire Mine and I wasn't disappointed.
Trey peaked my interest when he was introduced in Omega Mine and I couldn't wait to find out who was going to tame this hot shifter. I really liked Sadie from the very beginning. She is a vampire who can kick some serious ass when necessary yet is just as vulnerable when it came to her pull to Trey. This book started off with a bang and never slowed down. As other reviewers have mentioned, there was a lot going on.
Along with Trey trying to convince Sadie that she was his mate and he would do anything for her, he had to deal with his own pack and the threat of them not accepting their mating. The Beta of the pack Nathan had his own mate to contend with. Leigh is also a vampire and for most of the book worked my last nerve. I basically wanted someone to either sedate her or put duct tape over her mouth. My heart broke for Nathan as Leigh continued to reject him and I hope in coming books she does something (anything!) to redeem herself and give Nathan the HEA he deserves.
While really liking Ava in Omega Mine, in this book her hostile behavior towards Sadie and Leigh really surprised me. I was surprised by this side of her but will chalk it up to her being pregnant and protective of her pack. Emory's mate Mary's behavior towards Sadie was also a bit surprising. Considering how she was treated when Emory introduced her to the pack and it was less than welcoming, I had hoped she would give Sadie a bit more compassion for what Sadie was facing. Emory was as pissy as usual bit I can't help but really like him. Diskant was more of a hardass with Trey but I continue to swoon over him nonetheless.
Trey and Sadie's shared some pretty steamy moments (too few for me) and I would have liked to have a bit more time focused on their story as opposed to so many side stories taking up a lot of the book. While they seemed to have so little time to spend alone, I have faith that future books with give them more time to grow and become a united front. (Random thought: In Omega Mine Diskant and Ava also had very little personal time to connect and we got to see how their relationship continued to develop in Enemy Mine. I'm sure Trey and Sadie's story will continue in future books and give us more of their mating. Something I definitely look forward to.) :)
Other story lines that unfolded in this book left many unanswered questions. I am really intrigued by Kinsley's story. Who is this woman who has stolen the sexy black panther's heart? How will he convince her she's his mate? I can't wait to see how his story plays out. Zach is another one who desperately deserves his HEA. Taking over as the Beta for the pack will definitely be a challenge considering he's living with the loss of his mate. Aldon Frost was very perplexing. He started out so calculated in his determination to gain power but then we meet Olivia, the object of his affection and the rest of his story focused on her. It's all very intriguing.
As I said above, there is definitely a lot of side stories happening. Yes I wish Trey and Sadie had more time spent on their story but I have great faith in Aline Hunter to bring us answers and even more questions. I loved the ride I was taken on with this book and can't wait for the journey to continue!!
I had been waiting patiently to get my hands on Trey and Sadie's book Vampire Mine and I wasn't disappointed.
Trey peaked my interest when he was introduced in Omega Mine and I couldn't wait to find out who was going to tame this hot shifter. I really liked Sadie from the very beginning. She is a vampire who can kick some serious ass when necessary yet is just as vulnerable when it came to her pull to Trey. This book started off with a bang and never slowed down. As other reviewers have mentioned, there was a lot going on.
Along with Trey trying to convince Sadie that she was his mate and he would do anything for her, he had to deal with his own pack and the threat of them not accepting their mating. The Beta of the pack Nathan had his own mate to contend with. Leigh is also a vampire and for most of the book worked my last nerve. I basically wanted someone to either sedate her or put duct tape over her mouth. My heart broke for Nathan as Leigh continued to reject him and I hope in coming books she does something (anything!) to redeem herself and give Nathan the HEA he deserves.
While really liking Ava in Omega Mine, in this book her hostile behavior towards Sadie and Leigh really surprised me. I was surprised by this side of her but will chalk it up to her being pregnant and protective of her pack. Emory's mate Mary's behavior towards Sadie was also a bit surprising. Considering how she was treated when Emory introduced her to the pack and it was less than welcoming, I had hoped she would give Sadie a bit more compassion for what Sadie was facing. This installment seems to follow the format of the last, where enough information was given in the previous book so that you were familiar with the couple and their obstacles and introducing the couple for the subsequent book. Carrying on from both books one and two Trey & Sadie get their star turns and share the spotlight while Nathan & Leigh's story that was begun in book two begin laying out their issues and obstacles. While seemingly complex, it really is a heavily layered story that has to be read in series order.
After rescuing Trey from the shepherds Sadie finds herself compromised as far as the very sexy alpha goes and acting as a mentor for the shy and reluctant vampire Leigh who was immediately recognized as Nathan's mate. Alton has another nefarious plan in mind and is working to put it into play, luckily he has captured Sadie who may be the key. However Leigh has noted Sadie's disappearance and gains help from Trey and Nathan. The wolves and vampires are able to escape Alton's clutches and realize the problem is bigger than they can handle alone and go to Diskant for help. Reluctantly Diskant and Ava open their home to the vampires when they understand the problem.
While Sadie's mistrust of Trey is understandable, a reminder would have sufficed instead of it continuing to be an issue - it was if there was nothing else for them to have an issue about. Also Sadie's loyalty to Leigh was equally admirable, but I had enough of Leigh's pity party in the last outing - there are only so many times you can whine about the same thing, or at least there should be. Sadie and Trey have had fiery, emotional huge scenes when they were featured in the previous installments so I felt let down by the more somber note they portrayed here. Also the Nathan and Leigh thread seemed to feature more Leigh than Nathan so there is still a lot to learn about Nathan and I'm anxious to do so, he needed a meatier role for this outing. That is not to say there was nothing to like here because there was plenty. Among them were the action set pieces; cameos from the previous couples; Cade's role in the pack; information about the vampire coven; the focus on a different villain and the mere mention of (Kinsley) the jaguar gives me girl thrills. Once again the pacing was fantastic and the story moved at a good clip while the characters receive more fleshing. . While it was not necessarily the book I wanted, it was the book I got and it went very far in firming the foundation and pushing the storyline forward and I thought it was definitely a worthwhile read for fans of the series.

Ok I was really looking forward to this one as I really liked Sadie but it felt like there wasn't enough of her and Trey and the drama level is kinda starting to get to the point it's taking away from the sex
Or maybe that's just my issue? I mean I still love the series and will be holding my breath to see how it all plays out but I really wanted there to be more of Trey and Sadie and less about everyone else and I definitely didn't need anymore enemies and characters.
That said now I want to know what the story is with Aldon so I guess I wait for the next installment :(

LOVE THIS PARANORMAL SERIES!! Seriously these books are not just another pretty cover, but have some seriously itty, gritty plot lines that keep you hooked. What I love most about these books is the fact that in every book Aline introduces more open-ended story lines and introduces new characters that ultimately become leads in others. Everything is beautifully intertwined.. one of my favourite paranormal series yet!!

OMG... I hope the next book gives me relief to know if Nathan was saved.
I'm happy Trey found his mate being although I've have never read a book regarding a werewolf and vampire becoming mates.

At last...we have Trey and Sadie's story! Trey was a total a-hole in the beginning after losing so many of his pack members in the Shepherd bombing (first book). He was lost, so he got drunk, grungy and nasty. And Sadie, the mage-vampire who's been in love with him since the beginning was spurned and insulted one night when he was drunk and unable to control his behaviour. In the previous book, she had to drink Trey's blood in order to save herself, her friend Leigh and the drugged up Trey. The downside is that once a vampire drinks a werewolf blood, he/she will never be able to drink from another so this would lead to a slow death through starvation.
Poor Sadie is slowly dying from starvation. Heartbroken with the way Trey sees her (she's a vampire and he showed his disgust over this before) she swore never to see him again and has come to terms with her eventual death. It's just that she needed to get one more mission done which involves Aldon Frost, a mysterious vampire/ Fallen that, at this point in time, seems like a really shady character. But she was so weak, her mission failed and she ended up as hostage to Aldon. Trey comes to the rescue.
Because by then Trey realized that she is his mate and that he has been a complete a-hole to her. And after his callous treatment, she's rather die than ask for his blood again. So the story revolves around his attempts to redeem himself to Sadie and the pack's acceptance of her, a vampire, as the Alpha's mate.
Yeah!
1) I love stories where the hero's a complete douchebag at first and realizes the error of his ways and so he desperately tries to redeem himself to the girl. This story is it. Trey knows that his mate is his equal in many ways - she's a warrior; she's strong, noble, loyal and selfless. The fact that she's a vampire and a mage came to be a plus point to their pack.
2) Sadie! - she's a lone vampire-warrior for many years protecting her coven, she's been in love with Trey for sometime, lending him quiet support (in phantom form) and being a protective shadow to him while he goes around oblivious of her. And when she makes herself known, he treated her so badly. But she still cared for him enough to save him although it costs her life.
3) more plot twists, the story unfolds....it's not as simple as we thought in the very beginning.
4) the book cover model is muy caliente. Perfect as Trey.
Meh....
1) Leigh - the character is annoying and whiny. She just cannot get past herself. But she's mated to Nathan. So there'll be a story on her soon.
2) Wait....there's Aldon Frost, some mystery witch that's being transported, Caden the ex-Shepherd, then there's the Fallen, the evil Shepherds, Brett who's a warlocke and also a bar-owner, the Villati guy, Kinsley....so many new characters and side stories branching out....it's a jumble of so many continuing stories....and i know for a fact that the stories will need to be fleshed out in other books....that will come out god knows when. I hate waiting.
Still an enjoyable read. But now we have to wait for the next book(s) to know what happens to aaaaall these characters and side characters.
