"I've read all the fairytales, so I know love exists. For they have been written by a man, and a man cannot write what he didn't have."
Sadly, this is a case of Instagrammable quotes. There are some empowering ideas here, but it's more a series of notecards with scribbles on them, nothing lasting. Poetry's more than just an Enter key or an inspirational tagline.
I really enjoyed this take on love and relationships. The first section “romance is not dead” is my favorite. There are some awesome one-liners in the last section that I want to keep close to my heart.
I don't know why the author published many short books with some poems instead of a longer one with all poems included... So you'll find some of her poems in this book and in her other book "stay the night".
Although short, this compilation of poetry, interspersed with journal-like entries and musings of the heart, will make you stop and think, reflect and whisper to your heart. This author excels at evoking emotions and feelings with a few spare words. Read this and let your heart ponder the possibilities.
It was good collection of poetry. I like majority of the poems, so I related to more than others, but overall it was good! It was sad, empowering, and hopeful!
This was a read about love and loss and reinvention. The tone was really sweet and it was a nice quick read, even if some of the poetry was a little cliched. It was heartfelt and relatable. The author's note was also nice too, for some context and personal reflection.
"Because all of us get scared sometimes. Scared that love is dead and when people find out they will stop looking for it. And then it will really die. From loneliness. But love is not scared, people are."
It takes time to realize that who YOU love may never return the love you have for them. It hurts and takes away your wishs and it confirms that. You are no match for the one Who lead you along and plays with your heart. Sad but true.
