Fleeing from the altar on her wedding day, Abby crashes into a ditch during a heavy snowstorm. Her day gets even worse when help arrives in the form of a sexy, burly beast of a man. However instead of taking her to the hospital he "kidnaps" Abby and takes her to a cabin far from civilisation, thrusting her into his crazy and dangerous world, which is full of countless surprises.

Theo is tired of being hunted, however he made a promise to never give up, and the last thing he needs is further delays. But when he comes across a car wreck in the middle of nowhere and finds a feisty damsel in distress, just one look at her and a feeling—one he hasn’t felt for a long time—stirs within him. Torn between his responsibilities and the promise he made, Theo has no other choice but to take the woman… for his own.

Both are running from something… is it fate that caused their paths to cross? What is Theo hiding? And can he, with the help of Abby, outrun his past?

Excellent story with lots of excitement, suspense, drama, emotions and so much more. They are both on the run from something. Her a wedding and him an organization that killed his mate. He saves the run away bride when she slams into a tree. But it takes her awhile to get out of him what is going on. After they find out they are mates the fun begins. Lots of action in this and loving. Loved it and really hated to see it end. I highly recommend it.

Sorry to say I skimmed to the end after I struggled to get past the nastiness and stupidity of the heroine Abby in the first few chapters.
She is saved from freezing to death in the woods, comes to and starts beating on her saviour, falls and hurts herself more and then accuses her saviour of all sorts of devious and horrible things.
This woman is off her meds.
Then I had to laugh over the heroine nearly having sex with the hero Theo shortly after all her hysterics and agreeing to go on the run with him when she knows nothing about what he is running from.
I only read on as I was intrigued by the hero and the baby situation.
Happy to say the last quarter was quite good if slightly over dramatic.
Interesting that nasty Doug from book one was in this story.
I feel like I had read this book before and not finished it. Maybe when it was in parts as the beginning rings a bell.
AHA moment. I have read this in a box set.
ORIGINAL REVIEW FROM SHIFTERS IN THE SPRING box set.
Didn't like Abby at the start, she came across as ungrateful, selfish and slightly psychotic. Not because she was a runaway bride but in her reactions. You don’t act like that when you have been in an accident and someone helps you until you know the facts of your situation. Overreacting to everything without asking or talking first. The author gets around this by saying Abby has an overactive imagination. Hitting and biting someone is more than an overactive imagination.
Theo’s story was extremely sad but there was so little background in this story I didn’t connect with him at all which is a pity. I would have loved to know so much more about him and his cubs.
When some of the baddies who are after Theo’s twins turn up at the cabin, Theo has to shift to his bear to fight them and Abby sort of sees/guesses. She has also seen the twins in both cub and human form so is getting her head around it. Theo tells her about his recent past and that he is a bear shifter and so are the twins.
Abby just decides to go with Theo as her gut is telling her to. Okay I can live with that, but what about her job, family etc. Is she just going to disappear and they never know what happens to her?
I would have really loved this story with some more information about everything going on. There is no background explanation of why THEY are after the twins, who THEY are and where are Abby and Theo going to go now and how are they going to live.
A pity because this could have been such a good story. UNLESS there will be a follow up book. Must find out as I need to know these things, email to the author coming up.

Great

Absolutely loved reading this story. Brought to light some things from the other stories. Hope there is more to come, would love to have one on Doug and to find out who the guy is running the experiments.

Liked it. Definitely needed better editing tho. Liked the male character better than the female character.
