Planning to surprise her father, Beth Wyndam arrives at Reed Nixon’s Alaskan guide facility a day earlier than the rest of her party. Terrible weather snows her in with the surly older man, but she finds herself drawn to him despite his grumpiness. Reed wants her too, but the fifteen years separating them, along with the differences in their backgrounds, are obstacles he can’t bring himself to ignore. With a little luck, a lot of snow, and a power outage, Beth gets Reed in her bed. It’s everything she had hoped, but the real challenge is not falling in love with a man who warned from the start there was no future for them—especially when she realizes there will be a permanent reminder of their affair.
Beth invites herself along on her father's trip to Alaska. She shows up a day early and Reed is prepared for his instant attraction to the beautiful young woman. Before her father can arrive, a winter storm strikes and Beth and Reed are cut off from the rest of the world. Reed doesn't stand a chance when Beth decides he will be her first. Sexy and sweet romance with characters that are polar opposites, but find a way to make a family. Fantastic book, loved it!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
Short, sweet, sexy and satisfying. Not exactly a May-December pairing, but there's an age difference among other obstacles to be overcome on the way to HEA. Lovely smooth narrative and believable dialogue. Kit Kyndall never disappoints.
“Snowbound” is a beautiful, spicy, engaging novella set in the wilds of Alaska. Utilizing the older man/younger woman taboo, the story is fast paced without feeling rushed. Surprisingly (for a novella) both the plot and main protagonists are extremely well developed, constructing an engaging story-line. The heroine and hero are likeable characters and the story is very professionally written (I can recall few or no grammatical errors). The tension built throughout the story is eventually resolved through an extremely satisfying ending. I highly recommend “Snowbound” to those 18 years and older looking for a quick, spicy satisfying read!
Reed lives in Alaska and runs a tour business. He enjoys the isolation of Alaska and being self-sufficient. Right now he only lacks 2 things, a working coffee maker and a woman. Imagine his surprise when a plane drops of Beth a day early for his next trip. Beth is gorgeous and barely legal. Her dad is rich producer but he was a horrible dad. Beth came up early to spend time with her father but he sent her on ahead.. When she sees Reed, she is instantly attracted. She hopes she can seduce the older man into an affair. The weather seems to co-operate since a weather front has moved in and they are snowbound for days. After a lot of trying, she does convince Reed that their being together will be fun and just a fling. Beth enjoys her time with Reed and wishes for more but she will keep her promise of just having a fling. When she leaves Alaska, she has more than she came with. Reed at first thought Beth was spoiled and a city brat. Over time he gets to see the real Beth and starts to have feelings for her but he knows the city girl would not be happy in the middle of nowhere. This is a good steamy book. I voluntarily received a copy of this book and this is my honest review.

I this book we meet Reed Nixon and Beth Wyndam. Beth and her father have never really had the best relationship. So she decides to join him on his documentary trip up to Alaska. Her father is less than thrilled that she is coming but agrees to meet her there. Upon meeting Reed she realizes her guide is a rough man that might just have a marshmallow center. She also realizes no matter how gruff he might actually be there is a part of her that is drawn to this man. Can she get him to see her as more than just a young girl and the daughter of his latest client or will she loose out on a shot with the only man who makes her tingle?
Reed sees this beautiful woman get off the airplane instead of his latest client. He never expected a woman for one and for two he never thought he would be so attracted to her. Reed knows if he can just make it a couple of days this rich girl will be her daddy's problem. If only fate worked in his favor. Just when he thinks he will get back up from her father a large storm rolls in and it is just the two of them all over again. Can he learn to get over his issues and see the woman that is in his home or will he miss out on his possible once in a lifetime?
This is a great short story about finding something or someone special when you least expect it. There are many twists and turns in this book that will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Beth seems to fall for Reed instantly. A little more 12-yr-old behavior than 18- throughout most of book. She has Daddy issues and he crosses the line from mid-30s (acting even older) man to interested in a barely legal teenager as quick as you flip a light on. Reed never really softens up enough for me. He keeps his rough and growly shell. I wanted him to at least become more tender toward her. For a virgin, she sure seems to know how to get a man's attention. I didn't care for her father at all, even though he was mainly mentioned and we didn't really deal with him much in the story. Too wham, bam, and happily ever after with little substance or development to their relationship for me. Alaska is pretty far and he seems to be pretty isolated to have wanted to spend forever with him in such a short time. I actually liked her mother's reaction to him best of all.
This is a sweet romance about an older man & younger woman. Beth's always had a strained relationship with her father, but decides to surprise him by joining him on his documentary trip up to Alaska. She arrives a bit early & meets the grumpy 15 year older man, Reed at the Alaskan guide facility. She feels an instant attraction toward him & realizes he hides his true feelings behind the grumpy facade. When Reed sees his latest client's daughter, Beth instead of his client, he's shocked because he never expected a woman to come along or that he would feel an attraction towards her. Beth tries her best to get Reed into her bed, but he resists. Until a big storm cuts them off from the rest of the world & it's only the 2 of them....
