Mi chiamo Barore Suvergiu, noto Cristolu. Nato a Orotho il giorno diciannove Febbraio del 1850. Stato civile nubile e professione nessuna. Un po' frate e un po' bandito, questo lo decida chi leggerà un giorno la mia storia. Altezza un metro e sessantacinque senza i cosinzos, capelli pochi, occhi verdi e sempre tristi da quando il destino mi ha dato un calcio nel basso ventre e il Signore non è riuscito a trattenere la mia collera. Salvatore Niffoi (born 1950, in Orani), is an Italian writer.

Niffoi is a representative of the so-called Sardinian Literary Nouvelle Vague, or Sardinian Literary Spring, i. e. the Sardinian narrative of today, which was initiated by Giulio Angioni, Salvatore Mannuzzu and Sergio Atzeni, following the work of individual prominent figures such as Grazia Deledda, Emilio Lussu, Giuseppe Dessì, Gavino Ledda, Salvatore Satta. His prose is mostly a mixture of Italian and Sardinian.

Niffoi lives in Orani, a small village of Barbagia, in the province of Nuoro, where he was a middle school teacher until 2006. He started his career as a novelist in 1997, with his first work, Collodoro. In 2006, with the novel La vedova scalza he won the Campiello Prize.

I loved the rustic feel of this book, it smells of myrtle and sea air, dampness and rusty iron. It is raw and tender at the same time, a tragedy of times past, and treachery.
It took me a while to finish reading this because I didn't want to rush it. It is a quite poetic language, pure and straight, and I enjoyed the sentences in the dialect of Barbagia that speckled the story - mostly they are translated in Italian, in case you're worrying you won't be able to understand it.
I will look out for more from this author.

A me è piaciuto, ma si sa io non guardo stile scrittura sensi logici, a me piace sentire vibrare le code dei sentimenti avere le farfalle nello stomaco e l’emozione da decantare. Questo libro ha tutto questo.

Insomma... il linguaggio e Apr Apr edit lo stile meriterebbero tre stelle o anche più, ma la
storia... la storia è un disastro: dà tutto per scontato, come se i padroni fossero stati descritti per davvero, come se vi fossero dei veri personaggi, come se la trovata della storia nella storia fosse ben delineata.
Invece tutto è pasticciato e lasciato a languire. Buon contenente pessimo contenuto.

Ho iniziato questo libro senza troppe aspettative, ma l'ho finito piacevolmente sorpresa. 5 stelle piene perché la storia di Barore Suvergiu il frate bandito mi ha colpito nel profondo.
Penserò a questo libro per un bel po'

È passata una settimana da quando ho finito questo libro e ancora non è uscito dalla mia testa. Inoltre non riesco più a vedere o sentire un falco senza che mi venga in mente Barore e penso che sia una cosa bellissima
