This was another new author for me to read and Muller did not disappoint. It was a relatively fast-paced murder mystery. Despite not having read books one through three in the series, the main characters drew me in. There were a few editing problems with the Kindle version of the book. However, the book kept my interest. Not only was it a murder mystery/police procedural, but it showed struggles with values and ethics and threw in a little romance on top of that. Overall, this was an enjoyable book with interesting characters.

Hmmm...I would give it a 3 but for one huge plot hole. I did like the idea of each book being set in a different season over a year. I felt this last one was the weakest of the four. The relationship between Noah and Connor, partners on the Houston Police force (detectives) was a great calling point, but missing from this book. Connor was greatly diminished, and the plot was slow going. Too bad. I enjoyed the others much more. Lots of question left unanswered in this book.

Slow going book. Two detectives Connor and Noah are supposed to be best buds and yet they keep secrets from each other. One of them stupidly does something no good detective in his right mind would ever do, involved a girl friend in a serial killer investigation. Then when the dude comes after her, he dumbly tells her to stay in her office, close the blinds, instead of driving to the nearest police station. The book seems inplausable and contrived.

Houston, TX. Dr. Mackie (ME) gave Detective Noah Daugherty (widower, Houston PD Homicide) & Detective Conner Crawford (37, husband/father, Houston PD Homicide partner) his findings on the 4 examinations.
Victim # 1 skeleton, 22, & had been in the ground for 10 yrs.; victim # 1 21, young woman 21, broken hyoid & had been in the ground about 4 months; victim # 3 24, Hispanic woman, had been in the ground since late August; victim # 4 17, woman. dead about 2 weeks mid-September, found in an apartment.

What did Tom Meyers (47, Conner’s attorney, SMU; JD) discuss with Detective Daugherty?
Detectives Daugherty & Detective Crawford met Gracie Hanks & Haskel Rhoads (20+, asst., Downs Syndrome) & their 3 S & R dogs: Tag (German Shepard), Elway (Husky mix), & Sierra (mixed breed).
The 3 dogs set out into the field where the other 3 female bodies had been found.
Unbelievable the dogs were at the top of their game.
Now more work for the Detectives.

Everyone was treated to Five Guys Hamburgers.
Mandy County Forensic Lab. Benny Schroeder (CST), CJ (retired US Army), Dr. Mackie, & Gordon Hines were hard at work.
Detective Daugherty greeted FBI SA Lincoln Montgomery.
Victim # 5 Asian; Victim # 6 A/A; Victim # 7 A/A; Victim # 8; Victim # 9 A/A; Victim # 10 Hispanic; Victim # 11 Caucasian; Victim # 12 Caucasian; 5 unknown.
Killing Field Murders.

The investigations continue’s.
Detectives Daugherty sent the forensic artist’s drawings of Joyce, Kathy, & Lucy to local, state, & national news outlets.
The Sanitizer would be out tonight, stalking his next victim.
River Oaks. Detective Crawford & Detective Daugherty (partner) went to interview Darlene Quinlen Ainsworth.
Will the murder mysteries get solved & closure brought for their families?

An awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very professionally written crime thriller book. It was amazingly easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a huge set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great crime thriller movie, or better yet a mini TV series. There is no doubt in my mind this is a quite easy rating of 5 stars.

In this final book of a four part series we find Houston Detectives, Noah Daugherty and his partner, Connor Crawford investigating two bodies found less than a block apart. One was in an abandoned apartment and the second was found in a shallow grave in a nearby large vacant lot. Heavy rains had exposed the body to winged scavengers whose presence alerted a fisherman to the decaying body. Noah and Connor are walking a grid of the field to see if anything else turns up when Noah gets his foot caught in a mud hole. Using a shovel to dig out his shoe, Noah is horrified to discover another recently buried corpse. To make matters worse, a much older corpse is discovered under the first one. Two murders have now become a Killing Field full of bodies spanning several years. Identifying the bodies and their lives is a top priority as they discover is still very much active and staying one step ahead of the police. This was a nonstop read for me as I followed the action to the heart stopping final conclusion. I have loved getting to know Noah as he struggles thru the aftermath of the death of his wife in a car accident a year earlier. He is looking for redemption and a reason to keep on living. In the meantime, Connor is trying to survive the arrival of his first child and the changes it makes in his life. This series of four books has everything and more that you want in a great police thriller with a little romance thrown in. I recommend that you read the books in order but each one does deliver a complete mystery that will have you coming back for more.

In 2018, I read the three previous books in this series featuring Houston detectives Noah Daughtery and Connor Crawford. I liked all three, and I enjoyed Autumn Secrets as well.

A serial killer has been burying bodies in a field. When Noah and Conner arrive, they expect only the one body that had been discovered, but a misstep in the muddy field reveals another body and means the use of dogs to see if there are more. And there are. (This was interesting because the "borrowed" dogs were being trained to find survivors and become upset when they realize the scents they are locating are not survivors, but the dead).

A character from the first book, makes another appearance as a romantic interest for Noah.

This is the final book in the Seasons Pass series. I hope it isn't the final book for the characters.

Wow this book blew me away. I loved every page and couldn't turn them fast enough. This is very much a suspense book first, with a little romance thrown in. If you like shows like CSI, Bones, NCIS, then you will love the thorough police work the main character, Noah, and his partner must go through. The author does an amazing job keeping up with all the clues and how they get tracked down. Just enough details, not too many to bore anyone. Meanwhile, the main character has clearly been through some hard times (having previously lost his wife) and it's impossible not to feel immediately drawn to root for his happiness and success. He does meet someone, but it's his relationships with his partner, his sister, and their families that really adds to this story. The book stands alone just fine, but I would really like to go back now and read earlier books in the series. This was amazing. 10 Stars if I could!

No more secrets. Detective Noah Daugherty & Conner Crawford partners but friends as well but all that they know is about to be blown apart. They have just become part of a multi burial site case. They thought there were only a couple of graves but the cavadear dogs have found many more graves, will they ever find out who the women all were? They have almost nothing to go on and they just can't give up they will need to dig deep to stop this killer. But there is so much information that they need to follow up on but in the ned it pays off for them. The killer has the idea that all the women that he killed deserved it as they weren't good enough and that their lives never mattered but those two cops with the help of their department never gave up looking. A good solid read.

As usual I could not put down.
Noah is his usual trying to solve a crime but he had a revelation in this book that affects his life plans. Connor and his family are moving along and things are going well with Noah.
This is the last in the series and all my questions were answered.
The story takes you on a tail that leads to many dead ends when they find many bodies in an empty lot. When the criminal decides to take the wrong woman things go downhill for him fast.
This was such a great series and I rely looked forward to each book.

What An Exciting Book

I received this book free in a book giveaway but it in no way influenced this review. Their were a few misspelled words but I still give it five stars because it is just that good. I didn't realize I started out with number four of this series. Not the last one I hope. Ms. Muller writes series the way they should be written. A full length novel with strong characters and a COMPLETE story. Every time I thought I had the answer to the story there would be a new twist. You will be holding your breath and on the edge of your seat. I am definitely following this author.

I gave this book a chance when it was offered as a free download on Amazon and I am so glad I did! Susan C. Muller incorporates all of the elements one expects in a crime thriller--mystery, suspense, guesswork, and a fast-paced change of events. The added addition of a light love story and a character's battle with self-inflicted guilt add to the magnetic complexity of this story. Kudos to the author for excellent plot and character development. This will definitely not be my last novel by Muller!

Noah is a police detective, and has some secrets. You have to read the whole book to figure out the secrets.
His partner Connor isn't sure if Detective is the right job for him, especially with a new baby with colic not giving him or his wife much sleep. Read the whole book to figure out whether or not he gets another job.
Laurel is a damsel in distress. By the end of the book, you'll figure out her distress.
I haven't said anything about the plot of the story line.
You'll figure it out, by the end of the book.

I'm just sorry to say good bye to Noah

You don't have to but I started the series in winter and now it's Autumn. Noah's character is awesome & so real I feel as if I could pass him on the greet & stop him to say hello. All the books have mysterious villains that keep u glued to you Ebooks till the end but it's the humanity of Noah & all the characters that make you care. I'll just have to read the series again.

It’s Like A Ride-Along To Find The Monster!

Girls are dying but nobody knows what happened to them until the detectives discover they’re smack in the middle of a killing field. One after another, the girls are uncovered but that about the only hint they get in trying to track the killer. Twists and turns are found on every page. This psychopath is good and they might never find a way to get him.
What a read! I was hooked with the first paragraph.

Despite an occasional auto-correct word choice error and a couple of times thoughts/dialogue are repeated, this is a great book. And a great series. It's one of those times you become friends with the characters and miss them when you finish. Although this series story arc ended, I long for more Noah and Connor. I'm really going to miss them.

And now I want to read Time to Run again; definitely read that after this series.

Main characters in book - Two male Detectives described from the author’s perspective, so off base that it ruined the book for me. Their approach to each relationship so off key as the author was putting a feminine perspective on the male detective. Would have been a far better book sexed were reversed

A solid police procedural, with likeable characters and a bit of mature romance thrown in. What more does anyone want on a day they are home sick?
Though a stand alone mystery, it is the fourth in the series, and there are clues about the first three books strewn all over. Hope the series isn’t spoiler for me.

Page turner

Two cops, Noah and Connor, discover dead bodies and search to find the identity of the victims as well as the serial killer. The book takes on multiple narrators so you truly feel each characters thoughts, pain, and fear. Definite page turner book that I couldn’t wait to finish. Only regret is that this is the first book I read from the series.

Exciting read

I enjoyed reading this detective book that dropped just enough clues to allow me to feel like I was able to figure out who the mystery characters were but still kept me wondering if I'd guessed correctly. I appreciated the author's style of writing in which I could feel what the characters were feeling throughout the book.

I haven't read the other books in this series so there was, at times, a little confusion for me, but in general, I followed the character development. This was an engaging story that had a few twists and turns, before reaching a resolution. It ended with some questions left unanswered as might happen in real life.

Scary, but not too bad

There is more to this story than just the parts about the grizzly murders. The sub-plots are interesting too. Lessons to be learned about hanging on to false guilt. Don’t we all do that a little bit? I enjoyed it.

Good story and good read

Without the predictable love ending, I would give it more stars. The main characters are lovely and likable without the usual self-righteous and self-center. It is page turning and full of turns.

A Page Turner.

This is a good crime story with a good look into a director's process along with a taste of the interpersonal interactions of partners. A fair bit of police procedural is included.

Excellent series

This book and the three others in the series, are well written, thoughtful, character driven detective stories, with depth and thoughtful interpretation of the relationships of the people in the stories.
