Keeping secrets can shatter hearts…
Against her better judgement, Carrie Rodgers pretends she’s her twin sister while being escorted to a children’s hospital gala by Rick Marshall, an up and coming real estate developer in Atlanta. What she didn’t count as her sister’s substitute is a night of passion.
Rick doesn’t tolerate liars but he’s willing to imply his and Carrie’s relationship is more than it is to close a career defining deal. Having the right woman on his arm could tip the scales in his favor, but he’s not prepared for his heart getting caught in the balance as well.

A great sexy and sweet novella from the Magnolias and Moonshine series! It's fast paced, easy to follow and enjoy ... the characters are down to earth and easy to like. Really enjoyed Rick and Carrie's story!

Teacher Carrie Rodgers begrudgingly agrees to secretly switch places with her twin sister Cathie to go out on a date with real estate developer Rick Marshall. There is absolutely no malice intended, she just finds it impossible to say no to her sister when she selfishly wants to do her own thing instead of keeping a commitment she made to accompany Rick to a charity event.

Rick didn't think he was going to enjoy his date with Cathie all that much, but the woman he picks up seems different. More genuine, fresh and subtle. The date turns into an exciting time, ending up in what is just supposed to be one night together, but turns into a weekend of fun. When the truth comes to light, will Rick be able to forgive the deceit that he abhors so much in order to be with the woman who has taken his breath away?

Southern Secrets (A Magnolias and Moonshine Novella Book 12) by Susan Carlisle
Cathie and Carrie Rodgers are identical twin sisters. But looks are about all that they have as identical. Cathie was sickly as a child and everyone always catered to her wants and basically what Cathie wanted Cathie got. Carrie stood in for her more than once. But this time when Rick Marshall wanted Cathie to attend the Children’s hospital gala in Atlanta Carrie said was her last. Especially since Rick does not tolerate liars and they got caught up in a night of passion and now neither can stop thinking of each other.
Cathie works in a law office with Rick has his lawyer and Carrie is a school teacher. Cathie is a loud flashy woman and Carrie is reserved and quiet. However, does Cathie keep thinking that Carrie can pull this off. But being Cathie she is only interested in the guy she is heading off with to spend a weekend.
Susan Carlisle has never disappointed me and I knew it was a story that I would love. In 91 pages, she gave us a great read. This is part of the Magnolias and Moonshine series; however, it can totally stand alone. Enjoy!!!

I loved this novella. Its fast paced and steamy. Carrie has always felt the need to do whatever her twin sister asks, ever since Cathie was sick as a child. Although they are twins they couldn't be more different. Carrie is the quiet one while Cathie is more flamboyant.
Cathie has agreed to go on a date with one of her bosses clients. After being invited out by her crush.
She begs her sister to go in her place, and pretend to be her. Carrie doesn't feel comfortable doing this yet cant say no to her.
After being burned by his ex, Rick doesn't do relationships and cant stand liars. He needs a pretty lady at his side for the charity event. So he can get a business deal done. Rick isn't expecting to enjoy the date as he is expecting vapid Cathie. Instead he gets something very different. After one night together Rick just wants more. Carrie starts to fall in love with him and tells her sister she is going to tell the truth. She knows Rick can't stand liars. Will he forgive her? Pick up a copy and see.

Southern Secrets by Susan Carlisle is a short, sweet and fun filled story in the Magnolia and Moonshine series. Carrie Rodgers takes her twin’s place on a date with Rick Marshall, thinking it will only be for one night…what harm can it cause, right? Passion ignites from the first moment Carrie sees Rick, and suddenly Rick finds himself seriously attracted to a woman he thought would only be arm candy to close a business deal.

I recommend this book for anyone wanting to have a good relaxing read with plenty of romance and passion.

"Magnolia's and Moonshine - Southern Secrets" by Susan Carlisle is a wonderful read. It is part of a series of books, but it can be a read alone. Rick and Carrie's story is one of passion. Carrie is a kind hearted, and will do whatever she can for someone including her twin when she pretends to be her at a function. Rick has all sorts of trust issues, and although he enjoys a woman's company he definitely isn't looking for much more. So much to this story....a must read.

I love this type of plot and I enjoyed Susan Carlisle's take on it. A quick read which did really well on getting caught up in the excitement and emotion quickly. I think it must be harder to get everything out in a Novella size story but Susan hit the nail on the head. Carrie and Rick are very easy to like and of course the inevitible part where he finds out the truth about Carrie is always something to look forward to to see how the author is going to approach it.
Loved it!

Disappointed. There were a few things that felt too much like a soap opera for me. Multiple uses of the word manhood, for example. That the hero's mother and ex were bad enough to stomp on baby butterflys was unnecessary.

I did like Carrie. She felt like a fully developed character and would be interesting to know more about.

This book is well written, smooth flowing and easy to read. The author did a good job portraying the characters. This book is filled with intimate passion.

Carrie is a conservative self-conscience woman. She is kind, caring, compassionate and loyal. She has a wide array of interests from sports to literature.

Rick is a wealthy man who is involved with construction and architecture. Because of his past, he doesn't trust easily, especially women and isn't in the market for a serious relationship.

When their paths cross, under complicated circumstances, will they be able to uncomplicate things? They are both incredible people on their own so hwhat happens if you put them to. Review food Mommy Naughty Playground

Southern secrets is part of the Magnolias and moonshine series but can be read alone.  A short novella that will grab you from the first page and wrap you in the lovely story about Carrie Rodgers and Rick Marshall.  Carrie has a twin sister Cathie who she constantly feels the need to protect.  Cathie is asked to attend a gala with real estate tycoon Rick Marshall, but she wants to go have fun with the man she has an interest with.  She asks her twin sister Carrie to fill in one this one date.  Lies beget lies and what starts as a simple fill in date escalates as feeling that Carrie feels for Rick and him for her.  He makes her know from day one that he hates lies and has no forgiving nature for them.  How does Carrie let him know  she is not Cathie after the feelings between them escalate, how can she stop this from becoming the reason for their breakup.  Read this lovely story and find out.  Excellent writing by Ms. Carlisle .

BEING TWINS IS GREAT!!!!!

CATHIE, who is the twin sister of Carrie Rodgers has a Date with Rick Marshall, one up and coming VERY rich and VERY handsome developer. Carrie being who she is sets a plan in motion of switching places with her sister, to protect her from the one man that might emotionally turn her world upside down.
WHEN the night gets hot and steamy , Carrie can't back out.
Rick hates liars , despises them even, because of his trust issues.
Carries is his perfect ideal woman , but little does he know she is the wrong twin he was supposed to have adate with, but also it jeopardizes the one thing he Never wanted to let go of.

This is a short read of Magnolias and Moonlight Novella, it was a beautiful short read that I could definitely read over and over, I will recommend this to everyone.
