That includes taking the next flight out of Sacramento to retrieve the panicked bride’s cherished family wedding charm from her late grandmother’s attic in Atlanta Georgia.

Unfortunately, someone else has offered to come to the bride’s rescue—best man Ben Atkins, the same man who destroyed Sarah’s high school science project all those years ago. Now he wants to one-up her by retrieving the charm first? Sarah refuses to let that happen. The race is on.

When Sarah and Ben arrive in Atlanta, instead of finding the wedding charm there’s a letter from the bride’s grandmother directing the bride and groom to complete a series of tasks in order to prove their commitment to each other. With the wedding only two days away, Sarah and Ben must join forces by pretending to be the bride and groom in order to earn the wedding charm. Should be a cinch. After all, how hard can it be to fake true love for forty-eight hours?

Isn't it said that hate and love are closely related feelings? Sarah and Ben have a past that goes back to Kindergarten. Sarah has always had a crush from afar, but Ben seems to tease her and compete with her way too much for her liking. When they both "compete" on a quest to get her best friend's lucky wedding charm before the big day, they're both surprised at how close those two feelings are.

The trickery, quick thinking, and working together, along with a stray dog, Moose, really bring these two to full realization of their feelings. While posing as their friends, the lines are blurred and I couldn't help but smile and laugh at the antics that Ben and Sarah go through. I love the quests they have to complete and how far-fetched some of them seemed. All of them ended up really making me laugh. I also loved the descriptions of Atlanta and the Southern charm. I love the lengths these two go to for their friends--what loyalty. Even though it seems to be full of games, this story brings in a realistic and serious note towards the end, when Sarah is challenged by a friend to keep a promise. Of course, it all results in swoon.

There's something about weddings that really puts the feeling of love into the air and I'm so excited for this whole series!

Content: mild romance (kissing); moments of deception with good intent.

I'm so excited about this series! There are so many authors I love taking part in it. Something to keep in mind though, if you are in the market for "clean" romance like me, this series has both sweet and clean along with spicier. Pink=sweet, Purple=spicy. Just so you know. :)

This story!! I fell in love with it. Love, lovey, love love. It was sweet romance and adventure all rolled into one. Sarah and Ben are on a quest to collect a prized piece of jewelry and save a wedding. Everything is riding on their success. They have to complete a series of tasks, in a short amount of time, all while pretending to be in love. Sarah and Ben have known each other for a long time- they have a rocky history. But, their chemistry is off the charts!

Susan Hatler did such a good job of drawing me right into this story and making me feel connected so quickly. I loved this story! It was fun and light and it just made me happy! (Which isn't surprising. I love Susan Hatler and her books! She's one of my favorites!)

The Amazing Race -Wedding Style!

This was such a fun read! I laughed out loud at the antics and challenges this couple had to go through to get the elusive wedding charm. The kisses were swoony and the romance was clean. Since this story follows characters in a series, it's best to read the novellas in chronological order, even though it can be read as a stand-alone. I think readers will really enjoy the fast pace of this story and the delightful characters. I look forward to reading Avery's story in the next installment.

Susan Hatler is one of my go-to authors for delightful, sweet romance novellas. Her stories are always a wonderful treat for me. The Wedding Charm was the perfect little escape for me. Sarah and Ben remind me a little bit of Ann Shirley and Gilbert Blythe. They have known each other since grade school and Ben has teased Sarah and "one up'd" her more times than she can count. He clearly doesn't like her - right? And Sarah can't possibly be attracted to the deliciously handsome Ben because of the way he treats her - right?

As Sarah and Ben work together to retrieve Jill's grandmother's wedding charm, they make some amazing discoveries about each other. They'll do anything required - including pretending to be engaged - in order to save their best friends' wedding. The tasks they have to complete and the obstacles in their way provide opportunity for both love and laughter. The tale is nothing short of a delight.

How far would YOU go to make your best friend's wedding perfect?

Sarah never thought she'd have to fly across the country to Atlanta two days before her best friend Jill's wedding, with her high school nemesis Ben no less, to retrieve a family good-luck charm. But that's what best friends do, right?

Discovering that Jill's grandmother was a meddling old lady who has set tasks for Jill and her fiancé to complete before they can get the charm puts a definite crimp in Sarah's plans to make a hasty getaway. She has no choice but to pretend to be madly in love with Ben in order to get the charm.

Before she knows it, Sarah finds herself invading the pitch at an Atlanta Braves game, lying her way into a museum, almost getting arrested for stealing a Degas, crashing a Southern high tea, falling into a lake, rescuing a dog, and falling in love.

She could probably have taken it all in her stride except for that last part...

This was absolutely DELIGHTFUL. I loved Sarah and Ben together; the whole story was like a slice of wedding cake, sweet and delicious. I hadn't encountered Susan Hatler's books before but I'll definitely be looking out for more of hers in the future.

Five stars for a charming and adventure-filled love story!

I enjoyed this book so much that I didn't want it to end! I loved the adventure and the touch of the Old South, the race against time and the Happily-Ever-Afters. Moose, the dog, was so precious! The author kept me hooked from beginning to end. Thank you, Susan Hatler!

I have to say I loved this sweet romance. Sarah and Ben are forced together when they are standing up as best man and maid of honor at Jill and Ryan’s wedding. Sarah has had a crush on Ben since elementary school, but he is constantly teasing her and competing with her. However, things take a turn when Jill realizes she doesn’t have her grandmother’s wedding charm and Sarah and Ben set out to get it for her. They think they are simply flying to Atlanta to pick it up, but when they arrive they find out they must complete three tasks to earn the charm. Sarah and Ben must pretend to be Jill and Ryan while completing these tasks to prove they will have a lasting marriage. Will their love turn out to be more than a game of pretend? Will they be able to make it back in time for the wedding with the charm?

I loved this story. I loved that it wasn’t an insta-love story, but rather a couple that had known each other most of their lives. I also liked having the backstory of their childhoods without having to spend half the book in flashbacks. They were sweet together and things developed in a more natural way. Sure, the task of getting the wedding charm was a bit extreme, but it was still somehow believable. I was rooting for these two from the very start.

The author did a great job introducing the characters and making me care about them. I had a feeling from the beginning that there was more to Ben and his behavior toward Sarah. He seemed to be too amused by her and her perseverance to be the competitive tormentor she thought he was. Seeing their relationship develop was fun and lighthearted. They were great together and seemed to bring out the best in one another. While Sarah could get caught up in the tasks and stress, Ben brought out her fun, lighthearted side. Sarah’s determination to help others kept Ben focused and believing they could accomplish anything.

I also loved that the conflict in this story wasn’t over the top. Instead, they were dealing with real world problems people could actually identify with. Yes, the tasks to get the charm and trouble they brought were a bit over the top, but these weren’t really the problems for these characters. No, their real problems included things like sick family members, financial concerns, and questions of commitment and love following the divorce of someone you love. These are things that real people deal with all the time. It definitely helped keep the characters and overall story believable.

The secondary characters were also a nice addition to the story. I know I am curious as to what will happen with Avery and her housing crisis. I would also like to go back and read about Jill and Ryan and how they met. If their friends are this willing to make their wedding perfect, they must have a pretty good story. Overall, Susan Hatler crafted a great story that left me wanting more. In fact, my only complaint is the lack of an epilogue. However, I am hoping to see these characters again in this series. Perhaps that will satisfy my need. Definitely an author and series I plan to check out again.

A wedding and a scavenger hunt give two long time enemies, the chance to make things right in Susan Hatler's feel good romantic comedy. He's the jerk that sabotaged her high school science project. She's the girl who could always push his buttons. A much in demand wedding charm and a matchmaking grandma spell trouble for this long feuding duo. Ms. Hatler knows how to have fun and it shines through in her heartwarming stories. The Wedding Charm is a wild ride.

So sweet! I've been looking for a book as cute and sweet as this one. I read 3 others before this one and I'm so glad I found it. It's worth a re-read at some point too!

This is my first book from this author and I'm pleased that I found her. I'll be looking forward to more from her.

I admit that I had my doubts when I first started, a stubborn and childish heroine is not my cup of tea, but very quickly she changed my mind. Her generosity, heart, and quick mind were winners. She was confident in everything except her feelings and we all know those can be tricky to define at times. She won me over big time.

Ben was a little trickier because I was sure it was one of those grade-school crush things where teasing equals affection. He was a little hard to read though, so I would have liked his point of view. His confession was all kinds of sweetness and tenderness, I'm glad he pulled it out in the end.

There were some valid issues that weren't exactly resolved directly, so there were things that felt missing or incomplete, but the sweet, lighthearted romance overshadowed those things and I find myself excusing them. And the fact that this is a clean novel, meaning no steam, too. Excusable because of the utter sweetness of the couple.

Overall, I loved it. I'm excited for more from this series and from the author in general. I read and very willingly reviewed this book as an ARC received from the author.

Loved this novel by Susan Hatler. She is still one of my all-time favorite authors. Everything she writes is so easy to dive into, and you become instantly hooked.

This sweet romance novel stars Sarah and Ben in a story that takes them from California to Atlanta, Georgia to see their romance evolve. Sarah and Ben are the maid of honor and best man in a wedding, and they volunteer to fly to Atlanta to retrieve a family "heirloom" for the bride's "something old" in the wedding. When they arrive, they find that getting the family wedding charm won't be quite as easy an anticipated, and they will have to pretend to be Jill and Ryan (the couple getting married) to perform a series of tasks for Jill's recently-deceased grandmother. Given that Sarah has always been frustrated by Ben's incessant teasing and one-upping of her since school days, but always having an undeniable attraction to him, this was sure to be a good. This was a fun, sweet story with a HEA ending. Definitely check this one out-I read it in two days flat.

Romance: clean
Language: clean

Review:The Wedding Charm: The Wedding Whisperer (A Magnolias and Moonshine Novella Book 4) by Susan Hatler

Here is a summary of what the book is about. Maid of honor Sarah Carlton hasn’t failed at anything since her high school science project was sabotaged by a relentless competitor. So, she’ll do whatever it takes to make her best friend Jill’s wedding absolutely perfect.

With the wedding only two days away, Sarah and Ben must join forces by pretending to be the bride and groom in order to earn the wedding charm. Should be a cinch. After all, how hard can it be to fake true love for forty-eight hours?

Wow what another great book by Susan Hatler.

I really enjoyed reading this book. I thought it was a cute and funny story with some surprises.

I loved how sweet and romantic the story was. I am going to have to read the rest of the series.

I would recommend this book. Go out and buy a copy you will truly enjoy it.

Wedding charms and true love

I loves this story. I enjoyed seeing what a true friend will do to show their commitment. Take a journey with these two and see how sweet their connection was. I loved every moment that I read it in one sitting which was a great distraction. Love Jill's grandma and her task. So give this great story a chance.

I’ve heard a lot of buzz about the Magnolias and Moonshine romance series and was very excited to read The Wedding Charm by Susan Hatler. First, let me say it was fun. Some of the stories from grade school and high school? Well, they seem hilarious to me (now!) but I do remember some of those things happening to me, and around me, when I was younger.

I won’t recap the story as the author tells it much better than I ever could but ultimately it is a story about Sarah Carlton and Ben Atkins – nemesis extraordinaire from Sarah’s childhood. Both are in the wedding party of their friends, Jill and Ryan, as Maid of Honor and Best Man. A major wedding “crisis” occurs and both Sarah and Ben have to fly across the country to find a wedding charm that has been in Jill’s family for generations…before the wedding that will happen in a few days. Anyone who has dealt with a bride with a case of bridal nerves knows Jill will be a wreck but these two go off on a quest. They start off as frenemies and jump thru some crazy hoops to find the charm. They even adopt a dog along the way! Hilarious. (Love the dog, too.)

There really is a lot to smile about in this story, and you may even find yourself sniffling. Sometimes I just wanted to say “will you just speak up!” to Jill but the story moved along very well. I’m so very glad I found this group of books and thoroughly enjoyed this quick, fun read.

It is very rare that I read contemporary romance it's not that I don't like them but I tend to go for the spicier kind but the moment I caught a glance of the blurb to this book I was hooked.

This book has a great storyline and fantastic characters I loved the little missions they both had to do to get their friends charm for her wedding as it brought them closer together and the chemistry was electric.

I loved little moose what a sweetie. but one thing I adored the most was the ending.

This is such a sweet book and part of the Magnolias and Moonshine series. Oh how I love the South.

This one takes place primarily in Atlanta and it was fun to see the city through the eyes of Sarah. This is a cute not quite second chance romance. Sarah and Ben have always been competitive and although a decade has passed since his unconscionable act of sabotage on her science fair project - they find themselves at odds again. Both are determined to obtain "the wedding charm" that their friend Jill must have to avoid her wedding being doomed.

So off they go to Atlanta to retrieve it from Jill's late grandmother's house. But lo and behold - instead they are sent on a series of tasks to prove the bride and groom are meant for each other. The antics that ensue are funny, entertaining, and show you a piece of the southern lifestyle.

This was a real treat to read and if you want a sweet, clean romance - this is the series to pick up.

This was such a fun book to read. I felt like I was on an adventure, a treasure hunt, just by reading it. Although Ben and Sarah have known each other for most of their lives, they never truly became friends because of shenanigans from their youth. However a change of circumstances, the search for the wedding charm, makes them have to work together. That's when the sparks start flying, showing Ben and Sarah just how thin the line between love and hate can be.
I thought Ben and Sarah were such an adorable couple. It was a sweet and romantic book that I want to go back and read all over again soon. I appreciate that the author kept it a clean romance.
After reading this book I wanted to 1. get a little dog like Moose, 2. visit Atlanta while wearing a southern belle costume complete with parasol, and 3. read more books by Susan Halter

Super sweet!
I really enjoyed and loved Sarah's story, it is sweet and full of hope.
Sarah is a hopeless romantic and also a little neurotic. She has been in loved with her nemesis since elementary school but she never dared to move forward with her feelings. Not until her best friend's wedding she would have the chance to sort out her feelings and dare to say something.
The charm in this story is when Sarah and Ben get together to find Jill's grandmother heirloom, an old charm Jill wants to wear because is tradition.
Through the series of tasks they had to overcome, they confirm the mutual affection and feelings.
I really enjoyed the three elderly characters, they are lovely, witty and wise.

Like I always said if you are a hopeless romantic like me, you'll enjoyed The Wedding Charm.

To the author, I always enjoyed your stories, keep them coming ^_^

Some would describe this story as an enemies to lovers story, but Sarah and Ben really weren’t hateful to one another or at war. Instead, this was more a story involving two people have known each other their entire lives and were pretty competitive with one another. There were some hard feelings on Sarah’s part because of her high school science project being destroyed, but had these two spent a half hour having a discussion, that would have been cleared up very quickly.

Sarah’s best friend, Jill is getting married. Sarah is the maid of honor and Ben is the best man. Jill is distraught because she was unable to retrieve a family heirloom from her grandmother’s house and believes her marriage will be doomed to fail if she gets married without it. With the wedding set to take place in Sacramento in a few short days, Sarah and Ben decide to go to Atlanta to retrieve the charm and save the wedding. Of course, Sarah is in full competition mode, convinced that Ben is only going to try to one up her as she has believed he has done all their lives. I was really happy that they decide to join forces in Atlanta and with the help of a lost dog they rescue and name Moose, it appears they have a truce and there are a lot of unresolved feelings. The catch is that retrieving the heirloom is not going to be a quick task. They have to go on a wild scavenger hunt of sorts, pretending to be the engaged couple and pretending to be in love to convince the friends of Jill’s grandmother that they deserve the heirloom.

The tasks they are assigned to do were a lot of fun, but with the ticking clock, Sarah and Ben don’t have a lot of time to enjoy the ambience of Atlanta. I especially loved that one of the tasks required them to go to an Atlanta Braves baseball game and have their picture taken at home plate. The quick thinking and ingenuity this couple uses to accomplish the tasks were quite entertaining and fun to witness.

This book was my first experience with the writing of Susan Hatler and I will be looking for more of her work. I immensely enjoyed her writing style and the attention to detail she gives to Atlanta and Buckhead, which gave me a real sense of being there. I loved Sarah and Ben and thought they made a great team and the addition of Moose the lost dog added more charm and fun to this story.

My Final Verdict: Overall, this was a great story and I highly recommend it to fans of contemporary romances, stories involving dogs and scavenger hunts as well as stories that feature characters who are willing to go the extra mile for their friends and for each other.

I really liked this book. It was so catchy, interesting at the beginning and had such a good premise, but... (yes, there's always a but) there were a few things that I didn't highly enjoy.

First of all, like I already said, the beginning of the book was interesting and catchy. As of the half of the book, it became a little monotonous

Second, the wedding part seemed a little rushed. I know it's narrated from the maid of honour's point of view, but still,

And last but not least, as someone who really enjoyed the book, I also think it was too short. Why the book was so short? The characters were well-built but I was left wanting to read more and more about Sarah and Ben's relationship but at least I have to read the previous books of the saga!
I'm already in love with this authour's writing!

Be still my heart!

Talk about misunderstanding, second chances, southern charm, adventure, cute doggy, handsome hero, sweet and sassy heroine, best friend, beautiful bride, a wedding charm, Atlanta, period clothing, Magnolia Tea, boat ride, scavenger hunt, frazzled wedding planner, fake relationship, corporate jet, creative thinking, kisses and love, love, love!

Sarah and Ben, aka, Maid of Honor and Best man, are off on a mission. To retrieve the wedding charm that the bride MUST have or else her wedding is doomed. Her aunt left it in Atlanta and there are only two days to fly back and save the day by brining the charm, the something old, back to the wedding. The only problem...Sarah and Ben have had a long standing competition between them, and Sarah is so sick of Ben always saving the day. She's gonna do it all and do it her way. That is until she has to rely on Ben to save the day with her WORKING with him.

Talk about lots of fun and wit, humor and laughs. Yep. I loved it. I read and read and read at bedtime until I finished it. I had a big ol goofy grin on my face. Yes ma'am I did! I think I've been immersed in the south a little too long that I'm thinking in a southern accent and emulating many other southern charm hospitality traits. Hee Hee!

Oh this is a fun and swoony read that I HIGHLY recommend. I love Susan Hatler's books! Her YA books, her Better Date Than Never series and Her Kissed by the Bay series. Fun, sweet and swoony! This one is up there on my favorites list of her books. Grab it, and read it all now!

Content: Sweet kisses and clean.

I read this as part of the Sweet Tea and Kisses box set. I received a review copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.

Happy Reading!!!
