NDTV Frauds #1

NDTV Frauds

Rate this book
New Delhi Television (NDTV) is considered as one of the most prestigious media networks in India. It introduced Psephology to the eager Indian masses and used state-of-the-art tools to bring slick programming and made an instant connect with its audience. Prannoy Roy, one of the promoters was an instant hit with his earnest demeanor and sly smile. This is the story of how this dynamic young man ended up presiding over one of the most corrupt media houses in Indian history.

The two Promoters of NDTV, along with key top management colluded over the years with government functionaries and politicians to break laws, evade taxes and deceive shareholders of a public listed company. All this obviously through political patronage and “wheeling-and-dealing” as part of the Lutyens club and how they created a biased public discourse for a select elite class. Multinational corporations such as General Electric wittingly or otherwise aided NDTV by investing $150 million into a shell company with zero employees and zero revenue!

In the minds of the Indian citizen, there is a space and respect for media. Using the halo of journalism and under the garb of Freedom of Press, media owners misuse this position and in the end, degrade the values of journalism. On several occasions media became the tool of false propaganda, blackmailing and illegal money making with the blessing of uncouth politicians and corporate icons with hidden agendas. This ought to be exposed and that is the reason for this book.

Very detailed analysis and well written. I would strongly recommend reading this book. The language is very simple without any jargon. Interesting read about how a TV channel made money and involved itself in power brokerage. These NDTV guys are out to divide India. Play politics and influence people's opinion to favors the corrupt. Good book for a text book case study for Corporate Law students and professionals, it was very informative and incisive. Only books like this will bring rogues like Pranoy Roy, who posed a pious face, to justice. He must be punished not only for cheating the government but also lying to the poor people beloved him. It is nothing but treason. Prannoy Roy with his elite team of so called sold out journos like Barkha Dutt, Vikram Chadra, Ravish kumar are cancer cells to India.

The best Book i ever read on how the nexus of Media houses connive with Politicians looted investors, govt, public . It is a documentary on how Nasty, Utterly and inherently corrupt and low and filthy Media can be. It narrates how a Media House was created, nurtured and nourished for being the Propaganda machinery of Congress. Some Journalists were rewarded with "Padma" Awards! For over a Decade, this Money Laundering Group served the High and Mighty of Congress in False Propaganda activities: Spinning and Twisting Facts, Hiding Truth, Diverting Public Attention from Core Issues and in Spreading Lies and falsehood (especially targeting Mr Narendra Modi on twisted facts and false stories). Putting it simply: This Group was used by Union government led by Congress to form and build-up "Public Opinion". You will find in a page: "Cabinet Ministers used to compete to send SMSs to Barkha on Cabinet Decisions"

Must read and stop watching NDTV. This TV channel has cheated Indian public and is blot to honest journalist who works hard to break stories. Author has shown NDTV its place and larger message to intelligentsia that they don't monopoly of intellect. I used to think all the anti NDTV propaganda was a made up story by hardcore BJP . But it really is an eye opener for anyone who believes in proof of an accusation. Extremely disturbing if u have money and right connection. You can get away with anything, considering the serious nature of allegations. I would be worried if I was NDTV shareholder. Books like this are the need of the hour. They expose the Main stream media peddling lies and hiding illegal activities while being a partner in them.

The author attempts to provide a vivid example of "supari journalism" (a phrase coined by the author himself) in India. The allegations are extremely serious and against one of the leading media houses in the country. He holds no punches. No one, except the present Prime Minister, has been spared. Perhaps the truth will come out in due course. Perhaps it may not. Only time will tell. The list against whom allegations, backed by some damning circumstantial evidence, have been levelled cuts across party lines. There are some names outside the political domain that have been mentioned. The most intriguing one relates to Narayna Murthy who enjoys impeccable reputation. It is also not clear why the author hold backs the name of "The Industrial House owner (who) was angry with his then quarrelling brother" when he has chosen to reveal all other names. His comment about women journalist is grossly unfair when he remarks, "Women journalists across the world have had this advantage over their male counterparts. Attraction to opposite sex is natural"

Premise
'NDTV Frauds' exposes the collusion among politicians, media and the bureaucracy. It walks us through the history of NDTV from its start to the current day. We see the unbelievable corruption that is NDTV, in this journey.

'NDTV Frauds' is not afraid to name names. It calls out Barkha Dutt, Bhaskar Ghose, Arun Jaitley and other leaders in the Congress and BJP. The main protagonists are Prannoy Roy and his wife Radhika Roy. There is a clean presentation of hypotheses, conjectures, facts and figures along with annexures and links.

Opinion
I liked the in-depth analysis and description of the perpetration of the frauds. The timeline of NDTV's frauds in the book adds to its readability. The last chapter tells us what Barkha Dutt, Prannoy Roy and others are doing to escape prosecution.

I liked the non-partisan cross-cutting apportion of blame. The wheeling and dealings in this book leave you feeling unclean. And it reinforces what we know about the political setup, media collusions and bureaucratic abuses of power in India. The riff-raff overshadow the decent people in these professions.

This is a book which favours Subramanian Swamy. This is not a bad thing. We need an activist like him to bring things to light in our Indian context.

I recommend reading this book, regardless of your political affiliation (or lack thereof). At its core, this unholy nexus is a cause of concern for us. We need to encourage investigative activism to expose more of this corruption.

'NDTV Frauds' is a short book, at about 50 pages.

‘Fiat justitia ruat Caelum.’
(‘Let justice be done though the heavens fall.’)

Not that anybody is unaware of the cases going against NDTV or their ‘supari’ journalism or where their loyalty lies; but this book deals in details and with proper facts and references of the entire matter since the days of market liberalization.

The book is easily understandable to common folks and doesn’t use much financial jargons making it all the more clear & interesting.

But you get a shock when names of Arun Jetley, Raghuram Rajan appear.

At the same time it’s marvelous how swiftly and unhesitatingly PMO responded strictly when the blocks created by FM were notified by Subramanyam Swamy!

There are parts in this book regarding NDTV’s role which kind of matches with what the book ‘The Rise and Fall of AAP’ says about NDTV.

It also reveals how Modi was targetted and why; every effort was made to stop him come out of Gujarat to the bigger part of India.
He has always been a ‘one man army’.

You can connect the dots when NDTV made huge uproars after the dismissal of Rajan and NDTV’s stand now with recent happenings in the country. They are all back to their normal paycheck which they cant deal with and unless Modi is gone, the noose of fraud and corruption will keep on tightening around their necks.

This is a must read for everyone!
It’s 2020 now and of course for the latest development NDTV Frauds 2.0. needs to be read.

A brilliant exposé on the extremely corrupt news channel NDTV. Full of proofs & references, the figures of money involved are mind boggling.

The whole nexus of Prannoy Roy, Radhika Roy, Prakash Karat, Brinda Karat, Rajdeep Sardesai, Barkha Dutt, Vikram Chandra, P Chidambaram, Ambani etc. exposed with the names of their shell companies which were used for tax evasion & money siphoning.

This book tells you why & how NDTV reports the way it does. (Pro-Congress & Communist Party)

A good case study on how corporations steal money

Although in the beginning of the document the case put forward by the author looks weak enough to sustain a legal enquiry, author builds up the whole case against NDTV promoters with facts, evidences, and the course of legal action this far.
If you are a Finance student, auditor, or a plain enthusiast go ahead and spend your 3 hours understanding this case. It sure has some good learning outcomes.

Shocking read for those who have been thinking high of the popular new channel and its founders. Also, this book points out, the politicians who connived at all the fraudulent and illegal laundering done by the news channel for years, until people of high profile were backing the case against it. Brings out the nature of the media which was once noble profession, but now is so polluted and corrupt and also backed by corrupt government officials and politicians.

Never knew such a fraud existed with the reputed NDTV.
With my very limited knowledge, I could actually correlate and see patterns how they manufactured opinions and kept fooling Indians for almost 2 decades. Going to uninstall the app from my phone right now. The ,serger question still open to me is to whom else we can believe ?

Eyeopener. the kind of people involved in the nexus is astonishing. The truth behind those highly sophisticated and polished faces that we have been following at prime time for years is bizarre. Definetly a must read.

Hard hitting and completely factual. Exposes the dark side of Indian journalism. Lifts the lid on the whispered paid journalism doing rounds since years. I am going to follow the events to the end.

NDTV Frauds was available on Prime Reading, and i just borrowed the book, because the subject was something, which i was following & has subscribed to, for a long time. I thought it would give some insights on this subject.
I must say, i was not disappointed and there is a very detailed analysis and it is indeed very well written.
The language is very simple without much of legal/financial technical words.
It details how a TV channel made money from public money, did massive manipulation financially, politically & in journalism, and tried to become a "middle-man" or "lobbyist" in the corridor of power.
It also shows how PR (P.Roy), RR (Radhika Roy), VC(Vikram Chandra), BD (Barkha Dutt), Rajdeep Sardesai, Sagarika ghosh etc. have conned people, nation & also betrayed indian (by providing critical, crutial & confidential information to breaking india forces). Some how the other culprits like Srinivasan jain, Veer Sanghvi, Karan Thapar etc. are not covered in this book (which is slightly disappointing or i would say let me down).
It is indeed the story of the nexus of Media houses, Politicians, investors/promoters looting govt, public. It outlines how congress created this media house to hound select politicians, and how select politicians (e.g. Chidambaram etc.) used these to drive propoganda & spread lies.
The same journos were given national prizes for money laundering, corruption, cheating, hiding & manipulating truth, etc.

I would say this is a must read for anyone.

This book is an eye opener. NDTV has been running such huge scams under the protection of many politicians, babus, and people at high positions both in govt and opposition....money laundry, tax evasion, creating shell companies and much more. You name it and they have done it....It's a small book yet very informative one, providing all the information of the frauds starting from the day NDTV was formed and started absorbing tax payers money from Doordarshan illegally till Nira Radia Tapes.

The scale of corruption and scam, that almost all the departments like SEBI, CBI, IT department, ED, Delhi police...

Even though there was no definitive action taken by earlier govt, slowly and steadily the current govt is taking steps to bring people involved in conducting such wrongdoing to justice. Even tough there is some blockage in the current govt too, thanks to people like Dr.Swamy, Gurumurty who have been exposing the channel. The impact can be been seen now, as many holding high positions in NDTV are moving away from it.

It's a small yet very informative book. Author Sree Iyer has also included many documents which serve as proofs for the charges made.

Such book neither gets the media attention nor will it be listed in the best sellers. But it's no lesser than a sensational revelation for many.

A must read.

Audacious and complete annihilation of NDTV

Sree Iyer has provided yeoman service by clearly explaining the series of frauds committed by NDTV on the unsuspecting, even admiring, Indian public.

In this short book which can be read from cover to cover, Sree has bravely named the who's who of India in their naked involvement in this macabre game of greed.

He has stripped the masks of all NDTV employees as also those of Arun Jaitely, Advani, Mukesh Ambani, Pranab Mukherjee and of course, the myriad Congress leaders who have masks left anymore.

What is stunning is Modi's own reluctance or inability to punish his tormentors of 15 years.

There is another very important reason to read this book. NDTV was never a media company. It was a conduit for illegal financial transactions. If this is the amount of fraud that can be committed by one company, one suffers to imagine the evil that lies buried in the Indian stock market.

But as long as we have the Sree Iyers, the Subramanian Swamys of the world, who tender selfless service to mankind, there is hope.

My salute to India's informational warriors. Bravo!

Style of writing seemed like an article more than a book. It is very simple read but great effort in terms of gathering sources and information for all the allegations made by the author.

It all felt too overwhelming with all the information poured upon readers but a great journalistic work nevertheless. If only, execution and judiciary were as powerful as our legislature, we would be a great country.

The book is a collection of blood boiling revelations on how this unholy organisation looted public money by help of not just Congress politicians but also BJP. I am saddened to know that Mr. Jaitley, whom I always considered in high regards, also played a big role in saving this fraud group. NDTV must be brought down from TV right away, this is not what BJP was elected to power for. You will understand how lutyens are spreading venom in this country. Great work by Sree Iyer.

A good read with the facts and proofs from very beggining of the series of frauds from 1991 to present. must read for those who believe NDTV is all good & innocent.

I copy (from the genius Phillip A Fisher) and quote this book is not for those who believe in "I have already made up my mind, Don't confuse me with facts."

Hope you enjoy it!!!
