Since they wouldn’t even give me enough information to do their work for them, I personally felt they were welcome to do it themselves. (с) Leona and her sensible attitude... Well, she's more sensible this time around, isn't she?
Leona's knee deep in all kinds of bad stuff and she seems to be generating ever more of it all. She's struggling with the aftermath of her son's death. She's involved in a terrorism investigation. She's being threatened by a rogue banker (which's a strange thing, considering he didn't provide her with money laundering services, shouldn't he back off with fees for services she didn't need, after all?)

In Alexandra’s position, I would have hung up the phone after saying a few choice words to clarify to the head of SÄK that he needn’t be in touch again until he was willing to share the necessary facts. But then, that was likely why I was not in Alexandra’s position. (c)

LEONA – Alla medel tillåtna, är den andra delen i en planerad serie om polisen Leona. Den första boken i serien, LEONA – Tärningen är kastad, läste jag förra sommaren, och här är en länk till min recension av den boken.
Jag tyckte om den första boken, och jag tyckte lika mycket om den här andra boken.
Författaren är själv kriminolog och brottsutredare, så hon är ju väl insatt i det hon skriver.
Och jag ser definitivt fram emot nästa bok i serien.
Rekommenderas absolut till alla som gillar svenska kriminalromaner. Men läs helst den förra boken först.

Gillar verkligen Leona, skicklig polis och samtidigt kriminell. Hon liknar ingen annan. Egentligen skrämmande att jag gillar henne.

Well this book by Jenny Rogneby is my second book I've read of hers which has taken me to greater heights within the law of Sweden and what it brings is messing up my mind wanting to know what happens next. How is Leona going to get out of this, maybe it's already happened, saving 0ver 2,000 people that were on board the ship. Will people look the other way. How is the book going to go down with the people working for her on the robbery. Whats going to happen to David working with Sven? I will wait with baited breath for the answers to these questions. This was a read that I didn't want to put down.

I was delighted to receive a review copy of this book from the publisher--delighted, because I didn't know what I was in for. You don't need to read "The Dye is Cast" in order to get a kick out of "Any Means Necessary"--in fact, you might not want to. I was so horrified by Leona in book one that I might actually be afraid to open book two.
Leona is a self-described crooked cop, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. She's also immoral in a spectacular way. She has no moral compass, has a huge gambling problem that has brought her into the circle of terrifying people with even less moral compass that she has, if you can have less than none whatsoever. Her husband has left her, taking the children along. Their son has died, and while Leona is heartbroken, she doesn't let this slow her down. She needs money. Badly. She's creative about how to find it.
This leads to one of the amusing pieces of this novel. As a cop who's arrested a lot of criminals whose stupidity lead to their arrests, she offers ongoing workshops on how to commit a crime and not get caught because you've done something incredibly dumb. The crims she's invited are some of the less idiotic, but the dim-witted things these people have done make you wonder about their fitness for crime or any other career. Leona needs to train them so they can help her commit the one heist that's going to get her out of hock to other thugs and out of Sweden.
I enjoyed "Any Means Necessary" immensely and look forward to the next installment in the Leona Lindberg canon. Provided she survives to have more adventures . . .

Jatkoin juhannuspyhiä Leonan seurassa ja tämä tuli kahmaistua heti ykkösosan perään. Ei ihan yhtä yllätyksellinen kuin sarjan avausosa, mutta räväkän ja kyseenalaistavan asetelmansa takia mukavasti "massasta" poikkeavaa dekkarikirjallisuutta. Onko sillä niin väliä, kummallako puolella lakia kuljet? Tätä lukiessa rikollisuus alkaa tuntua varsin älykkäältä ja mielenkiintoiselta toiminnalta :)

En man spränger sig själv utanför Riksdagshuset i Stockholm, men överlever. Leona får i uppdrag att förhöra honom och ta reda på orsaken varför han gjorde det. Men hon är inte fullt koncentrerad på uppdraget, efterdyningarna av händelserna från förra boken har inte lagt sig och hon har stora personliga problem i form av familjen och pengar. Detta leder det okonventionella lösningar.
Mina tankar:
Detta är Jenny Rognebys andra bok om Leona, första heter Leona - Tärningen Är Kastad (läs här vad jag tyckte om den). Den går att läsa utan att man läst första boken, då den förklarar lätt i början vad som hände i första, men det är ingenting jag skulle rekommendera. Man får ut mera av handlingen av att ha läst serien från början.
(En liten varning till de som inte läst första boken så kan jag komma att beröra lite saker som kommer fram i första boken.)
Leona fortsätter att vara på båda sidorna av lagen. I denna boken är hon, på grund av händelserna i första boken, mer insyltad och tvingas till att ta till ännu mera okonventionella handlingar för att kunna klara sig ur problemen hon har. Ändå försöker hon sköta sitt jobb som utredare.
Det är intressant att fast Leona är en karaktär som gör en del fel saker så finns det något som gör att man känner för henne och håller på henne att hon skall klara det hon ger sig in på. Det är lite som gruppen i filmen Ocean's Eleven.
Jenny Rogneby har precis som med första boken även lyckats med denna boken. Jag gillar hennes språk och handlingsuppbyggnad. Det är spännande hela boken igenom och språket flyter på bra, det är lättläst och medryckande. Korta kapitel gör att man bara skall läsa ett kapitel till.
Rekommenderar den till alla som läst första boken och vill följa Leona mer. Om man är intressera av en deckare med inte den direkt vanliga utredaren i huvudrollen så passar denna bok bra, dock så tycker jag man skall läsa första först.

Tiukka naispoliisi Leona on jälleen rikosten äärellä, sekä ratkaisijana että suunnittelijana. Leona on päässyt lipsahtamaan aidan toiselle puolelle, hänelle ei riitä pelkkä poliisityö, vaan hän unelmoi rikkauksista rikosten avulla. Ruotsalaisen rikostutkijan Jenny Rognebyn Leona-sarja jatkuu toisella dekkarilla Tarkoitus pyhittää keinot. Leona Lindberg on tukholmalainen rikospoliisi, joka ei kaihda kulkea kadun molempia reunoja. Leona tuntee sekä poliisipiirit että rikollispiirit ja on molemmissa kuin kotonaan.
Tukholmassa oli sattunut pommiräjähdys ja kuin kohtalon oikusta pommimies oli jäänyt henkiin. Leonan tehtäväksi tuli selvittää oliko miehellä apureita, oliko pommeja jossakin lisää ja oliko mies terroristi. Siinä meinasi tulla hiki pintaan, kun mies esitti kaikenlaista vänkää.
Leonan oma yksityinen rikosprojekti jääköön kirjan lukijoiden salaisuudeksi. Sen verran avaudun kirjasta, että apureita tarvittiin ja heitä piti kouluttaa kovalla otteella, mutta kannattiko rikosala?

L'histoire est peut-être moins sensationnelle, mais lorsque tous les éléments se mettent en place, les derniers chapitres réservent une lecture ô combien ébouriffante ! Suspense, émotion, frisson et rebond. On termine en beauté. La personnalité troublante de Leona Lindberg est aussi effrayante que fascinante. Le roman s'amuse de son jeu de dupe et prend son pied à tourner le lecteur en bourrique. C'est noir, poignant et explosif. J'ai encore mordu à l'hameçon.

Ännu en spännande bok om Leona, polisen som går mot allt det man förväntar sig av en polis. Just det gör böckerna om Leona extra spännande. Man vet aldrig vad som ska hända. Lite snopet slut. Nu måste jag vänta ett helt år på att få veta hur det går. Tycker lite synd om Leona. Hon har det inte lätt. En annorlunda deckare, som jag varmt rekommenderar dig att läsa.

Jenny Rogneby was nog maar vijf jaar oud toen haar ouders haar muzikale talent ontdekten. Ze kreeg meteen piano- en danslessen en daarmee was dat de aanzet tot een carrière als popartiest. In Zweden is ze vooral bekend van de meidengroep Cosmo4, maar haar grootste succes was dat ze in het voorprogramma van Michael Jackson mocht optreden. Vanwege haar groeiende interesse in het menselijk gedrag begon ze een studie criminologie, sociologie, rechten en psychologie en werd later criminoloog. Haar werk bij de politie van Stockholm inspireerde haar om met schrijven te beginnen. Ze creëerde het personage Leona dat in het thrillerdebuut, De teerling is geworpen, haar opwachting maakte. Alles middelen toegestaan is Rogneby's tweede boek en verscheen begin 2017.
In de binnenstad van Stockholm, vlak bij het parlementsgebouw, brengt een man een bomgordel tot ontploffing. Hij overleeft het en inspecteur Leona Lindberg krijgt de opdracht hem te ondervragen. Hoewel men aan een terroristische aanslag denkt, is Leona daar niet van overtuigd. Ze moet nu zien de waarheid te achterhalen. Een ander probleem is de enorme schuld die ze heeft. Haar schuldeiser blijft haar benaderen en eist aflossing van die schuld. Om daar voorgoed van af te zijn, maar ook om een nieuw leven te beginnen, verzint ze een niet te mislukken plan waarmee veel geld te verdienen valt. Voor de uitvoering daarvan heeft ze wel de hulp nodig van een aantal kleine criminelen. Maar zal het allemaal zo vlekkeloos verlopen als Leona in gedachten heeft?
Als dit een eerste kennismaking met Leona Lindberg is, kun je in het begin van het verhaal de indruk krijgen dat ze niet onderdoet voor een groot aantal andere fictieve rechercheurs en politie-inspecteurs. Ze is eigenzinnig, heeft privéproblemen, is in behandeling bij een therapeut en is bovengemiddeld goed in haar werk. Toch is ze in één opzicht anders dan de anderen. Want Leona houdt er een dubbelleven op na. Ze is, behalve handhaver van de wet, ook iemand die het daar niet zo nauw mee neemt. Dat maakt haar als personage een stuk interessanter en is daardoor net iets anders dan de rest.
Alle middelen toegestaan is het tweede boek in de nieuwe Leona-serie en, zoals zo vaak in een reeks, kan de lezer zich niet aan de indruk onttrekken dat er verdergegaan wordt waar het vorige boek geëindigd is. In dit geval rijst de vraag wat er gebeurd kan zijn waardoor Leona het zo ver heeft laten komen dat ze de criminaliteit omarmt. Toch is het niet zo dat het gevoel ontstaat erg veel te missen. Rogneby heeft er namelijk voor gekozen zoveel mogelijk uit te leggen waardoor je wel begrijpt wat er gebeurd is. Omdat het verhaal in wezen op zichzelf staand is, is het dus geen enkel probleem dit boek los van het eerste te lezen. Toch helpt het in volgorde lezen wel om het gedrag van Leona beter te doorzien en te begrijpen.
Het boek kent diverse verhaallijnen waarvan er twee vanuit het perspectief van Leona worden verteld. Deze zijn in de ik-vorm geschreven, de overige in de derde persoon. Daardoor bestaat er nooit verwarring wie de verteller is. Het lijkt erop dat de verhalen niets met elkaar te maken hebben, maar hoe dichter de ontknoping in het zicht komt, komen ze op een ragfijne manier toch bij elkaar. Dat gaat gepaard met een aantal verrassende wendingen en in spanning toenemende momenten. De climax vindt plaats aan het eind van het verhaal. Daarin wordt het tempo opgevoerd en nemen de spannende situaties zienderogen toe.
Ook nu lijkt het erop dat dit een afgerond verhaal is, maar schijn bedriegt. Het laatste hoofdstuk geeft een uitstekende opening waar in het volgende boek op doorgegaan kan worden. Rogneby zal er dan wel goed aan doen langdradige stukken tekst, die soms in Alle middelen toegestaan voorkwamen, te vermijden. Het boek zal dan alleen maar in kracht winnen.

ANY MEANS NECESSARY is a must-read for fans of thrillers and/or general fiction. Jenny Rogneby is a Swedish criminologist and a former criminal investigator with the Stockholm City Police Department. However, the manner of their alternative existence is quite different. While investigating him by day, Leona uses her evenings to establish a night school course of sorts for criminals, instructing them on how to choose and execute jobs for maximum payoff with minimal risk. The classes constitute an income stream for Leona, as well as a recruitment pool for a job she is planning in order to pay off Armand, the ruthless master criminal to whom she is deeply in debt and for whom she will do anything to collect.
Meanwhile, Leona tries to balance both sides of her life (and not so successfully) with caring for her young daughter, Beatrice, and dealing with her ex-husband, Peter. As the bombing investigation becomes more involved, Armand presses his own demands for payment, using Beatrice as a fulcrum. Then her investigation reveals a connection with her personal life, and the complexity of the heist she is planning grows one hundredfold. Furthermore, she has no idea how close she is to potentially being betrayed on all fronts. As the book rockets to a startling conclusion, Leona will have to call upon all of her skills, knowledge and deviousness to escape with what she requires. At the end of the day, her talents may not be enough.
The novel is a bit of a slow burn that saves the majority of its sinus-clearing thrills for the last quarter of the story. But reader interest will not lag one bit, as Rogneby gives several eye-opening lessons on how to be a successful criminal or, at the very least, reduce one’s risk of failure. It’s all extremely entertaining, with the criminal lessons actually presenting some advice transferable to the legitimate world as well. ANY MEANS NECESSARY is an enjoyable ride that you won’t want to miss.

Edellinen kirja, Leonan tarinan aloittanut Kortit on jaettu oli yllättävä ja aika lailla uskomaton kertomus tunnekyvyttömästä ja lapsena pahoinpidellystä naisesta, joka on yhteiskuntaan sopeutuakseen perustanut perheen ja päätynyt (vanhempiensa järkytykseksi) hyväksi rikostutkijaksi Tukholman poliisiin. Leona im hilflosen Strudel ihrer Probleme
Das Buch: Leona is back!!! Sie hat einen neuen Fall. Ein Selbstmordattentäter sprengt sich vor dem schwedischen Regierungsgebäude in die Luft. Er überlebt schwer verletzt. Und möchte nur mit Leona sprechen. Denn er hat noch einen Back-Up Plan, falls der Anschlag daneben gehen würde. Und Leona muss diesen herausfinden, um schlimmeres zu verhindern. Aber eigentlich interessiert sie das nicht. Denn sie verfolgt ihre eigenen Pläne.
Das Fazit: Der zweite Teil der Leona Trilogie beginnt ein wenig nach all den Offenbarungen des ersten Teiles. Leona musste noch fernab vom Leser einiges Leid ertragen. Denn so sehr sie ihre eigenen Projekte vorantreibt, liebt sie ihre Kinder sehr. Das ist auch der wunde Punkt in ihrem Leben. Und das machte sie angreifbar, macht sie angreifbar und für den Leser sehr menschlich. Denn Leona ist nach wie vor nicht der Darling der Leserschaft. Aber das ist gut so. So mag man sie.
Doch Leonas Probleme bleiben. Allen voran die fortwährenden Geldprobleme. Hier wird sie permanent erpresst. Also was tun in der Geldnot? Ihr Plan an Geld zu kommen, ist raffiniert und ungewöhnlich. Da hat sich Frau Rogneby schon etwas einfallen lassen. Leider bleibt der Leser sehr lange im Dunklen, was denn nun das große Projekt sei. Und bis dahin ist dieses Buch doch eher eine Durststrecke. Das ist ein wenig Schade, aber Leona weiß, wie man Dinge vortäuschen und ablenken kann. Und Jenny Rogneby weiß, wie Kriminelle und Ermittler ticken. Und beides vereint sie wunderbar und außergewöhnlich.
Aber auch sie bleibt lange in Dunklem: und zwar im eigentlichen Fall des Buches: Denn eigentlich wollte sich ein Mann vor der schwedischen Regierung in die Luft sprengen. Das ging aber ein wenig daneben – und nun liegt der Mann gehbehindert im Krankenhaus. Und möchte seine Aussagen nur mit Leona teilen. Diese nimmt sich den Fall recht halbherzig an. Das ist doch ein wenig schade. Denn die Story bat genug Stoff. Und Leona erscheint hier durchweg abweisend und lustlos. Nicht als die supertolle Ermittlerin, wie sie in Buch Eins zelebriert wurde. Und so bleibt auch die Hauptstory des Buches lange im Nebel, ohne dass etwas Spannendes passiert.
Man merkt schon, dass die Autorin sehr viel vor hat mit der Leona Trilogie. Im ersten Band funktionierte das auch noch, da alles für den Leser neu war. Nun weiß man, wie Leona tickt und so braucht es etwas mehr um den Leser zu überraschen. Leider weiß Leona selbst nicht so genau, wohin sie will (außer dass sie viel Geld braucht). Und so haben wir den typischen zweiten Band einer Trilogie. Der Aufbau zum Finale. Nicht schlecht. Aber auch nichts Neues.
Trotzdem: lest den ersten Teil, lernt Leona lieben. Und freut euch einfach, mit ihr ihre Probleme zu erkunden. Denn darum geht es in der Trilogie: um die Protagonistin. Die Storys sind um Leona herumgeschrieben worden. Und wer weiß? Wahrscheinlich laufen doch alle Stränge im finalen Band 3 zusammen.

We have some growing pains here. Clearly, the series is picking up steam, and its ambition--as well as Leona's--is growing. The first book had one main plot line and two characters' points of view. Here, we have a million plot lines, which don't even get resolved in the book. And three different points of view (Leona's in 1st person, David's, and the bomber guy's).
Here's the biggest problem with this book: the "criminal course" is so boring! I mean, maybe if you're as dumb as the average criminal, you might find it thrilling. I thought it was all dull and obvious. The book sags whenever the crime lectures start.
On the positive side, the crime at the center of the book is less stupid than Leona's undertakings in the first book. The heist has enough plausibility to work. It's not clear why there would be such a giant cash shipment, but it makes sense that the police would be notified of it, and that a crooked cop such as Leona would be tempted to interrupt the transaction.
On the other hand... she's still a goddamn idiot. Why on earth would you entrust your fate to a bunch of criminals with neck tats and temper problems? And especially any who blab to their criminal friends, whom you've never met? And why on earth would you then (a) proceed to sleep with said criminal, and (b) promote him to chief lieutenant? And is there really no way for a cop to see whether a person is registered as an informant in the system? Maybe not in Sweden, but it seemed like a sign of incompetence on Leona's part that she didn't get rid of David the minute she busted him going through her stuff.
I did like it when Leona got rid of the hostage and got "her cops" away from the scene by trading herself in. That was some good quick thinking.
I continue to find her characterization confusing. Her inner world makes no sense to me. Why would a psychopath ever get into therapy, except to manipulate the therapist? She does a bit of that, to get sleeping pills, but surely there are easier ways to get those for a crooked cop. And for all her asserted lack of emotional capacities, she certainly feels an awful lot of grief and love for her children. She also keeps getting into situations where a ruthless, clever person probably wouldn't end up, like getting bullied by the Armand bloke. It just isn't believable.
But to hell with it, the book is entertaining. I will probably listen to the third one when it becomes available on Hoopla. This is a "yes I'll listen forfree tax money, but no I wouldn't buy it" kind of series, I think.

Oh wow, I did NOT enjoy this book! The protagonist, Leona Lindberg, is a very difficult character to like and I absolutely did not like her. Rogneby spends the first part of the book, maybe the first quarter, reminding us every few pages of what a tough person Leona is and how she doesn't play by the rules. Ok, we get it! Leona Lindberg is a detective in Stockholm, but she also has a side hustle as a criminal. And it's this corruption, being on both sides of the law, that gives her a big ego.
The book begins with Leona being brought in to interview Fred Sjöström, who attempted to blow himself up outside the Parliament House. His suicide attempt failed, though he lost his legs in the explosion. The way that Leona acts when has to begin interviewing him makes her come across as stuck-up and a whiny baby. Maybe that wasn't author Rogneby's goal, but Leona certainly doesn't come across as some highly-valued detective.
And that she's a criminal on the side is utterly repulsive. What a great way to live your life, especially when you have a young child to care for, right? I have no idea if this kind of corruption is common to police forces in Sweden, or America, or elsewhere, but I would wonder how a person like that could sleep at night. Well, in Leona's case, she's not sleeping very well since she keeps telling her therapist (who could have actually helped her through her issues if Leona wasn't so stuck-up and self-involved).
And then the story just gets more and more outlandish with Leona's idea for a grand crime. The story races to cover the events of this grand crime as it's happening in parallel with another explosion. And then..... everything ends. No neat endings, no explanations, it's like the Rogneby just ran out pages or ideas or interest.
One other note, and this may be due to the book being translated from Swedish: I found some sentences to be egregious in their poor grammar. But it was only a few sentences here and there; I would think one would employ editors to check a direct translation, so I'm thinking these grammatically-poor sentences are solely the author's own doing. Which then makes Rogneby seem like a very novice author. I'm glad to be done with this book.

And then the story just gets more and more outlandish with Leona's idea for a grand crime. The story races to cover the events of this grand crime as it's happening in parallel with another explosion. And then..... everything ends. No neat endings, no explanations, it's like the Rogneby just ran out pages or ideas or interest.
One other note, and this may be due to the book being translated from Swedish: I found some sentences to be egregious in their poor grammar. But it was only a few sentences here and there; I would think one would employ editors to check a direct translation, so I'm thinking these grammatically-poor sentences are solely the author's own doing. Which then makes Rogneby seem like a very novice author. I'm glad to be done with this book.

Avis Leona la fin justifie les moyens de Jenny Rogneby
Entre la première et deuxième histoire, il y a peu de rappels. Leona est vraiment passée du côté obscur. Le personnage peut être attachant, certes. Son histoire personnelle et surtout son enfance y sont pour beaucoup. Elle n’arrive pas à s’attacher sauf à sa fille. Mais même là, je trouver que les rapports sont faux. Peut-être dus au fait qu’elle n’arrive pas à surmonter la grande tragédie. Elle a besoin d’aide mais elle ne s’implique pas assez. Elle a trop de choses à cacher et surtout à avouer. D’ailleurs, elle ne semble pas avoir trouvé la personne adéquate. Est-ce que les trois mots notés sur le carnet de sa psy démontrent vraiment la personnalité de Leona ? Mon sentiment est ambivalent par rapport à Leona. Par contre, c’est une bonne enquêtrice, qui connaît bien son métier. Elle le prouve, également, en détaillant, tout le travail de la police auprès des personnes qu’elle a recrutées. Elle y va petit à petit pour ne pas se tromper face aux personnes en face d’elle. Mais franchement, ce n’est pas un séminaire. Le lecteur reste sur sa faim. J’ai l’impression que c’est comme une mauvaise formation où tout est abordé dans les grandes lignes, mais pas dans les détails. En effet, comme pour tout, chaque situation est propre et les aléas sont nombreux. Rien n’est simple. Le lecteur s’en rendra également vite compte. Pourquoi a-t-elle eu cette relation sexuelle avec David ? Pour en savoir plus sur lui ? Je pense que cette partie, relatée par David, n’était absolument pas nécessaire.
On ne sait pas trop où nous emmène l’auteur avec cette construction bizarre. Une des seules choses positives dans ce livre concerne les thèmes abordés, comme le terrorisme, la récidive, la prison. Mais elle détaille trop. On peut se rendre compte que la Suède et la France se ressemblent beaucoup à ce niveau-là. Autre bon point est donc cette fin plus intense et prenante.
Je remercie les Presses de la Cité pour ce deuxième opus dont la fin annonce un troisième.

Finish the second book on Leona by Jenny Rogneby. And another good read.
At the same time a little disappointed. The first book was superb, maybe because it was unexpected. This one didn't reach the same level. Maybe too much action! (And maybe too masculine, even though the main character is female.)
There are too story-lines in the book. One with Leona and Fred (who blew himself up trying to bomb Parliament). The other with Leona and Armand. (And, of course, they get tied together).
Leona plans everything and in great detail. And nothing can go wrong. Well, at that point you should know that everything will go wrong! And it does.
Without describing and revealing any of the plot and excitment, I will be reading the next one of her books on Leona, at least the next one. And I am loking forward to seeing if the secondary characterers in this story follow her to the next one. They should.
If reading these it might be best to read them in chronological order. The story from the first book is referred to on several occassions and it would have been confusing if I didn't know what was under discussion.

Det här är en författare o bok som är värd 10stjärnor!!!! Hur den kan ha 3.47 i medel övergår mitt förstånd!!!! Jag har läst i 44 år, varje dag, ibland en bok ibland flera om dagen på både svenska och engelska, bland alla dessa böcker är det få som uppnår spänningen och kvaliteten som denna. Leona är i särklass det bästa inom genren polis, crime, brott, deckare, thriller jag har läst! Detta för att Jenny Rogneby vet vad hon skriver om, hon vet hur poliser jobbar, hon vet hur kriminella fungerar, hon har Leona som är så annorlunda och speciell! Jag förstår inte hur jag kunnat missa den här författaren! Eller jo jag har ju Bara läst på engelska under några år. Men nu har jag hittat "Astrid Lindgren" inom deckargenren, förstår ni då hur bra böckerna är? Det ska mycket till för att höjas över 5stjärnor hos mig men här är verkligen en sådan.

Ahmaisin Jenny Rognebyn Leona-sarjan toisen osan heti ensimmäisen perään. Leona on vaikeuksissa, sillä hän on suurissa veloissa. Lain rajat ovat kuitenkin venytettävissä... Samaan aikaan hän saa tutkittavakseen tapauksen, jossa itsemurhapommittaja epäonnistui, mutta janoaa kostoa.
Leona on edelleen kiinnostava päähenkilö. Silti toinen osa ei yltänyt aivan ensimmäisen tasolle. Minun on vaikea kuitenkaan tarkasti perustella, mistä tämä johtuu. Leonan oma projekti oli kirjan mehukkainta antia, mutta hänen ratkaistavakseen annettu tapaus ei tuottanut samanlaista yllätyksellisyyttä.
Kolmanteen osaan on jatkettava välittömästi.

Druga część Leony i... utrzymany poziom z tomu pierwszego. Niesamowicie podoba mi się, że Leona nie jest taką samą policjantką jak wszystkie inne z miliona kryminałów, które już przeczytałam, i tysięcy seriali proceduralnych (procedurali?), które widziałam. To, że główna bohaterka schodzi z drogi prawości, jest świetne, bo daje zupełnie nowe możliwości kreowania fabuły.
Jeżeli lubicie skandynawskie kryminały, ale jesteście nimi czasami nieco znudzeni, "Leona" może być idealnym remedium na tę sytuację. Polecam!

Very well written. I feel more sympathy for Leona in this book. She is not gambling away her money anymore. I like how she never sits back to see how things unfold but always take action and make things happen. I am a bit annoyed at Rogneby's tendency to end every book with a bunch of question marks that are only cleared up in the 1st chapter of the next book, so I don't really get any closure. Also, I have realized that Rogneby can't ever let Leona succeed in her goal to leave and retire, because then there won't be any more books.

Thriller surprenant. Ce sont les aventures de Léona Lindbergh, inspectrice à la brigade criminelle de STOCKHOLM. Elle traque les criminels, mais en même temps n'a rien à leur envier.. En effet, elle-même n'hésite pas à se mettre hors la loi, et même à organiser des hold-up..Tout cela est quand même un peu immoral, néanmoins l'intrigue est très bien menée, et les rebondissements, nombreux, en font une lecture intéressante...

Second book in the Leona series. Just as good as the first one. Leona is a detective who operates on the both sides of the law. Her son's death and the subsequent divorce have left her mentally fragile. In this book she is asked to investigate a suicide bomber who will only talk to her. She also owes large sums to a criminal loan shark who wants to get his money back and makes threats that are hard to ignore. So Leona has to start planning for a new heist. This book is a wild roller coaster ride. The only thing I didn't like was the cliffhanger ending.

Luin vähän aikaa sitten ensimmäisen Leona-dekkarin, joka oli loistava. Sen innoittamana hankin luettavakseni heti sen jälkeen tämän toisen suomennetun Leona-dekkarin. Valitettavasti tämä ei ollut ihan yhtä hyvä kuin ensimmäinen dekkari. Samanlaista yllätyksellisyyttä tästä ei luonnollisestikaan enää löytänyt, sillä olin jo tottunut Leonan luonteeseen ja toimiin. Kaikkinensa kuitenkin todellakin lukemisen arvoinen dekkari. Mikäli lisää suomennoksia ilmestyy, aion ne lukea.
