When Brad opens his Vegas hotel room door to find a hot police officer waiting on the other side, he assumes crazy Aunt Tilly has sent him a strip-o-gram.
But instead of getting naked, Detective Gorgeous pulls out his cuffs — turns out, the badge and uniform aren’t just props, this cop is the real deal.

I only keep a small list of my very favorite books and series in my bookshelf here. I read A LOT and it's hard to keep the list updated!
Brad is book #1.5 in the Made Marian series by Lucy Lennox. This is the first short story included in the Made Marian Shorts, a series of four novellas. Brad is introduced in the first book of the Made Marian series, Borrowing Blue, as the fake date of Blue’s ex boyfriend, Jeremy.
Brad has had enough and it’s time to leave Alexander Vineyard and the disaster of a wedding. Only, before he can leave, Tilly, Irene and Granny convince him to be their driver for a trip to Vegas. When they finally get there, all Brad wants to do is sleep off a headache. When his nap gets interrupted by a knock on the door from a very sexy cop, he’s convinced that he is a stripper hired by his three charges. But much to his surprise, this is no stripper, but a real live officer.
This is a very short, fun, sexy story that comes complete with an epilogue and a HEA! I loved it. This was just the missing piece I needed from Borrowing Blue. I was dying to know what Brad’s story was and why he was there with Jeremy. Now I’m ready to move on to book two, Taming Teddy, which is Blue’s brother, Jamie’s book!
I'm really glad Lennox took some time away from the Marian's to write Brad's mini-romance. His brief introduction in Borrowing Blue left me with some questions and even more interest in exploring his character further. Thankfully, this seemed to be just the shorty I needed to satisfy my Brad-related curiosity.
This story picks up at the point where Brad leaves Tristan's vineyard and follows Brad as he gets coerced by aunt Tilly and the lesbian grannies to chaperone them on a ladies weekend in Vegas. He has nowhere else to be and the old ninnies are paying, so he goes all in.
In Vegas, the ladies orchestrate a little matchmaking between Brad and a cop they meet on The Strip. The guys hit it off straight away and spend the weekend completely consumed by one another.
This is super short, super sweet and super hot. It's all insta-love and HEA rainbows galore, with a dash of good humour to keep things interesting.
It’s difficult to rate a novella (to be fair it’s more of a short story), because there’s no way we’ll get a decent character building or plot. It’s easier when we know the characters from previous books, but Brad was a secondary character at most in the first book of this series.
So yes, his story was fun, and I loved seeing Tilly, Irene and Granny again - that alone accounts for 2 of the 3 stars I’ll rate it with. The third star is for the funny scenes (like when Brad thinks that Miles is a stripper).
omg. More insta-attraction/insta-love by Lucy Lennox.
And boy this was hilarious, soooo adorable, sweet and sexy. A perfect addition to the series after that wedding week in Borrowing Blue. It can also be read as standalone.

This was book 1.5 in the "Made Marian" series. Brad who we met in book 1 of this series with Jeremy agrees to be Tilly's driver and take her to Las Vegas along with Granny and Irene. When the Grannies get drunk and are walking in the street they meet a cop who takes the back to the hotel. Detective Miles Bell was walking the best after pissing of his Captain when Tilly tells him that Brad was snorting drugs and hit her and that she should talk to him. When a hot sexy cop knocks on his door he thinks that he is a stripper. After clearing up the misunderstanding Miles goes home but he can't set thinking about the sexy redhead that he met when he gets a call about a murder at the hotel he goes back to check on Brad and they get hot and sweaty. This was a bittersweet read for me a few weeks after the Las Vegas mass shooting because they were staying at the same hotel. These two begin a long distance relationship with Brad moving to Vegas. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I are looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
3.5* AH! Very happy to be able to read the point of view of Brad!! In the first book he ends up being a nice guy, but we have very little information about him or why on earth he could be with the stupid Jeremy! I found very clever to add his story to the series ♥
Is really cute story ... but short ♥ I hadn´t minded to read more about them :P
The grannies are funnier in this book than in the previous one, but I still found them annoying :/
After his debacle at the Marian family wedding, we get to meet the real Brad. Turns out he's not a bad guy (which nobody really thought anyway) and he gives us more reason to REALLY dislike Jeremy. But when he takes Tilly and Granny and Irene to Vegas for the weekend, he hits his own jackpot with office Miles Bell.
Miles is adorable as well! He meets Brad and he is smitten. They are definitely hot for each other - but turns out they have a lot of other things in common besides sex! Who knew? When the weekend is over, neither wants to say goodbye. So they make plans to see each other soon :)
This is an adorable story for Brad and Miles and I'm so glad got his HEA because he got a bad deal from that jerk Jeremy. Kudos to the author for giving this little snippet. Can't wait to read more in this series.
This is not a negative rating; the rating IS a positive one, but it was still just "okay" for me. I think a lot was sacrificed in order to fit everything into such a small amount of pages. Had the plot been less whirlwind and a little more invested, the rating would have been higher. I do believe this novella would have greatly benefited by being just a little bit longer. Cramming SO much in, so rapidly, detracted from the overall premise. But again, this was still okay. So two stars from me!!

FREEBIE - reading this one before moving on to book #2 :-)!!
I absolutely adored this short story. It was great to see the truth about Brad after Borrowing Blue, and it was fun to see the Trio causing trouble again. It was only 32 pages, but it was so fun. I loved Brad and Miles. Fantastic.
> > Judging a Book by it's Cover < < Close-up partial of a young adult male. Strong font choices. Fun sounding synopsis. Loved the first book in the series and was ready to read book 2 when I discovered this between-books short story!
> > Looking Deeper < < POV ~> Alternating first-peson POVs. Clearly marked at each chapter.
Sure, this short can technically stand on its own, but you really, REALLY should read BORROWING BLUE first. If you've already read it, I'm sure you'll remember Brad, the sweet guy that was dragged into Jeremy's drama at the Marian wedding. Brad and a certain trio of firecracker characters are on their way to Vegas for a new adventure and I never thought it was possible to smile through an entire short story. This was SO MUCH FUN! I adored Brad from the first book and that adoration just intensified with his own story. Miles was a great fit for him. The trio were fantastic to see again! I loved this super fun short story. Conclusion is solid, HEA is provided. I'm so glad I stumbled across it while getting ready to read book 2. Made Marian fans will want to read BRAD! . Rating: [R] ~ Score: 4.425 ~ Stars: 4.5

In the first book Borrowing Blue, Brad was sort of the catalyst that started Blue and Tristan's relationship. Although he attended the wedding with asshole Jeremy, he was actually a very nice guy, and this is his story. I enjoyed it a lot, as Brad sure deserved his HEA, and Miles is a great guy.
Miles and Brad were so cute and so fun to watch interacting with the grandmas -who are btw my fave trio of this whole series honestly - that I couldn't put down and wished for more of them! Hoepfully we will see some mentio of them maybe in the future books, just to see how happy they are together hehe
Brad haha ok this was funny because the grannies got him to drive them to Los Vegas and get mixed up with a cop so they totally set the hot cop up with him and it was cute how he stammers all over himself. It was a sweet little short and I am glad we got it.
