A corporate spy blackmailed by a mysterious employer. A missing son turned bad. One chance to reunite the family he never had.

When a mysterious man tells Scott Dyce his abducted son is still alive, Dyce can hardly believe it´s true. Thinking his agony is over, the mysterious figure soon brings him back to earth, demanding that Dyce do as he wishes before any reunion takes place.
Dyce is forced to steal information from the corporation he works for in Mexico, and just when he thinks the job is done, the employer sends a new task.

Dyce becomes embroiled in a scandal so big and a crime so dangerous he begins to realize that he may have unleashed the hell he has feared all along.

An Abduction is the first book in The Son Of No One Trilogy, a fast paced and breathless psychological thriller series. If you love the tension and fear of Harlan Coben or the mystery and action of Lee Child you'll love An Abduction by M C Rowley.

Great read, fast paced and hooked from the start. I think its part of a trilogy, so look forward to the next one. The characters are great and set in crazy Mexico. If you like crime/thriller, i'd definitely recommend this. I actually read it in one night!

An Abduction - a review by Rosemary Kenny

22 years earlier Eleanor and Scott Dyce's baby son was stolen with all the others from a nursery ward in Hospital Roosevelt in Guatemala where they lived at the time.
Despite all attempts at discovering their baby's whereabouts no sign of him has ever been found.
Now under an alias, Scott is forced to work as an industrial spy by someone who says they know what happened to his son - the young man as he now is - and will reunite them if Scott does his dirty work satisfactorily!

Who is Lena Betancourt and how is she involved in Scott's subterfuge?
Where does Mr Reynolds tell Scott to go next - and why?
What is Governor Augusta's connection to Matias Esteban? How does Scott meet them and do they help him? When Eleanor is kidnapped who holds her hostage?

This far reaching thriller moves from country to country with so many plots and counter plots it's hard for Scott to know who he can trust - but one thing's for sure, you'll agree that M C Rowley has a magic formula for success, when it comes to spy-thrillers that keep the reader guessing right to the end!

If you like books describing the way a man gets around Mexico then this is the book for you. There’s just too much moving around Mexico and not enough plot movement. I like the idea of the plot line - a couple has their newborn son kidnapped and finds out 22 years later he might still be alive - but not the way it was written. I do want some of that home cooked authentic Mexican food the author describes though!

The book was okay but not exciting enough. There are some parts that are hard to follow and does not perk my interest. Slightly disappointed as it had a good plot overall.

Ties

Another author tied up in bad use of the English language. Profanity is not what I look for in literature.

An Abduction is the first book in The Son Of No One Trilogy . This is a fast paced psychological thriller that will have you page turning. Quite a tale that will have you on an emotional roller coaster. Full of blackmail, corruption, corporate espionage, political intrigue, kidnappings, spying and criminal cartels. Lots of suspense as Scott tries to rescue his abducted son and protect his wife. A great read.

This novel would be much more enjoyable if it wasn't for the awful mess of errors in typesetting, spelling, grammar (among others) that are totally distracting and very annoying. I counted 1295 instances, which is absolutely unacceptable. The author ought to be aware of such things as spell-checkers and grammar-checkers, so there really is no excuse for such a slap-dash approach to book production. I suggest the author reconsider his editorial choices.

Blood Ties

Interesting and entertaining story about a kidnapped baby in Guatemala and the parents who are still uncertain whether he is dead or alive over twenty years later. In their search for confirmation they become involved in a bizarre political mess.

Good mystery spun from anguish

I liked the story and it's plot twists but the translation could have been a bit better. Conversations were broken at times.

Loved this book. It kept you on your toes. I wasn't sure who the bad guys really were. Loved the way the ending wants you to r the next book.

Author needs an editor

This book was loaded with grammatical errors. It was so bad it distracted from the story. Please get an editor and clean it up.

To many characters I couldn't keep up with them all, and a lot lost in the translation.

There are many things going on in this book that makes is rather hard to keep up with. But I think that is the plan after all this is a psychological thriller. There are some twists and turns in it. It is also the first book of a series.

A very gripping and believable thriller which for a first novel is seriously impressive. The characters are convincing and the dilemmas they find themselves in are tense. The writing style is slick and engaging with a flow that keeps the story moving at a break neck pace. Its set up very nicely for the next 2 books which I am very much looking forward to read.

Slow Read

This book just didn't do much for me. It was slow reading and difficult to keep characters straight. I did force myself to continue to the end. Was just disappointed.
