I have received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
The book is very comprehensive, from the history of massage to the knowledge about the human body as it pertains to massage. The book describes the preparation for the massage from setting the intention to set up the room by the massage specialist. It also covers basic techniques and specific massages. My favorite part is the self massage part, as I can apply these methods for myself at home. The photographs are all annotated, which aid in understanding of the massage techniques illustrated. This book is very good for a massage therapist of a person that may consider a career in massage as it gives a good idea of what it entails. It also make the receiver of massage understand all the jargon and appreciate his or her massage therapist more. The book will also be very helpful for readers that practice DIY massages at home for family members and friends. The book is well written and annotated.

I think this book is actually quite all right in explaining how a thorough massage works.

The book not only explains the benefits on the (obvious) physical level, but also demonstrates how it benefits both the client and the masseuse mentally. I love the more mindful approach on this and the information is quite in-depth for an entry-level level book. Though, there are some minor flaws throughout the book and not all information is complete, hence the 3 star rating.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

A great book as an introduction to a variety of massage techniques, in no way comprehensive, but an excellent way to start in on a valuable tool to soothe many of our afflictions. I especially enjoyed the sections on essential oils and their uses in massage.

I'm sorry, I'm a little behind on my reading, between work and the fact that I won 6 books on goodreads in two months, I'm way behind. I'll critique it when I can get to it.
