Brianna Daniels has a younger sister, a stepsister, though she’s never really thought of her that way. A sweet, loving, kind stepsister who has battled a rare disease her entire life, and deserves one good thing. One magic wish.
She wants to go to the ball.
It’s the Cooper-Renfield Museum’s annual fundraising gala, and all the city’s elite will be there, wearing beautiful clothes, making sparkling conversation, and dancing under the stars. Brianna tells Natalie that she’ll find a way to make it happen. And she does. And wouldn’t you know, Natalie meets her prince.
The problem is, Brianna is in love with the prince. But what kind of wicked step-sister would begrudge a sweet, loving, kind young woman’s one shot at happiness?
I really enjoyed this novel. Parts of it really took me by surprise.(I may have cried a little, both happy and sad tears.) I wasn't expecting to feel as strongly as I did about Catch A Falling Star. I expected a fun, quick and easy read; while it was all those things, it was more too. I'm a sucker for re-telling of fairy-tales, so that was my driving factor for picking up Catch A Falling Star. I have to say, I'm truly impressed with the story and the author's writing. Once I started reading, I wasn't stopping until I was finished. A great modern twist on Cindy's tale.
I enjoyed this a lot more than I expected to. Great writing, although I didn't realize it was supposed to be a retelling of Cinderella until I read some of the other reviews. I would definitely read more by this author.
Classic story, I got it as a free download. I rated it four stars not because of the characters or story line, but because of the intelligent humor, delicate and 'in-between-the-lines' jokes and because without warning the author makes you laugh out loud, which is quite surprising for an easy read like this. I re-read it after a few days just to pay more attention to the word choices and small details.
A romance novel has pretty straightforward expectations, but this one had me hanging in the balance more than a few times. I really wasn't convinced for the first part, but then I just couldn't put it down. When someone is in the hospital, you are in the hospital. I hesitate to say more, because there were places where I just was not sure how it would turn out. In real life, there is more than one happy ending.
Got this as a free download a couple of weeks ago. I really enjoyed it. I found the main characters believable and kept reading the next chapter just to see what happened next - which is always a good sign. It was a fun read and I am glad I did. I did shed a few tears and have a little cry so that's always a good sign.
I know, it was taking me awhile to finish this book, but once I got into it, I couldn't stop. The last 20 pages, or so, made me cry, both for sadness and for happiness. I'm glad I finished reading it.
I was sent a free ePub of this book through some email list I'm not sure how I got on.... A quick, easy read - kind of Mary Higgins Clark-ish, but without the mystery. I could easily see it turned into a Hallmark Hall of Fame type movie.
Great book! My favorite this summer. It had a little bit of everything! I highly recommend reading it! I was torn between giving it 4 or 5 stars......went with 5......great book!
