The alternate cover edition of this book can be found here.

Disaster-in-Waiting is a story of love, passion and the realisation that everything you have ever known and imagined as your future may not be as secure or set in stone as you'd thought.

Eloise Ross is married to Michael, her much older and recently retired husband. He fills his days with golf and walking the dog, while she fills her days working as a newly appointed P.A. to the CEO of an international company.

One night, disillusioned with her sexless marriage she goes out alone, drinks beer and dances with a handsome stranger. The moves on the dance floor quickly lead to passion and excitement like El has never known, but it was only one night, one time. Just that once couldn't mean anything, could it?

That once changed her view on everything she'd ever thought she'd known or valued; her home, family, responsibilities, husband and marriage, but most of all herself.

As her life begins to unravel, with twists and turns that make her laugh, cry and despair El has only one constant to hang onto, her handsome stranger. However, with destiny intent on throwing them together he becomes less and less of as a stranger.

With her inability to escape him and the feelings and thoughts he evokes in her spiralling out of control her life takes on a route paved with lies, secrets and discovery where the only destination is likely to be heartbreak and disaster.

This is a debut standalone story has been written, edited and published independently by me. It is solely intended for an adult audience (+18) with scenes and descriptions of mature situations including sex, violence, swearing and general encounters.

I have always said I could and should write a book and now I have.

When I was sixteen years old my English teacher told me I was going to be the next Harold Robbins with my love for writing slightly risqué tales, but it was almost another thirty years before I truly took the plunge into writing for adults.
Away from writing I work in the public education system and am a wife and mother of two. We share our home in the UK with a very spoilt and pampered cat and dog who truly rule the roost.
I have a passion for romance, reading and writing it. The stories I write ooze chemistry, sensuality, love and sex. However, they do not shy away from uncomfortable subject matter such as death, violence, unhappy marriages and abusive relationships making them suitable for an adult audience.
It is my hope to portray relatable characters who are three dimensional with redeeming qualities, flaws and room for growth that readers learn to love as the story develops.

Disaster-in-Waiting is my first self-published book that has evolved from dozens of previously written stories, many unfinished and the thousands of books I have read. I am incredibly proud of the story it tells and honestly believe I have written a story I would want to read.

I really enjoyed this book. It took me awhile to finish because of its length but it didn't deter me from reaching the end. I wasn't at all happy with Michael and El's relationship from the beginnings and honestly was excited when she met Cy. Their connection made me swoon. Each time they merged, it was like they couldn't seem to get enough of one another. There were so many twists in this story that also helped keep me interested. I thought this Author did a great job.

I really liked the authors style of writing and feel that she has a terrific future in storytelling ahead of her. I was drawn into the story and although the characters have flaws, I found myself liking them because of the writing style.

I really enjoyed the story. I won't go into spoilers but it was quite unique.

Disaster in Waiting is the story of relationships and secrets that are revealed about relationships between several individuals. Eloise Ross had been pushed into marrying an older wealthy man by her sister. Eloise loved Michael however she was frustrated that he never wanted to have sex anymore. Due to health issues, Michael sold his company to an American friend of his and she was going to work as the PA for the new owner. One night when she was feeling restless, she went out to a bar. After drinking a large amount of alcohol, she was enjoying her time on the dance floor. A man came up behind her and they proceeded to “dirty dance” together. This very attractive man pulled her upstairs to an office and she had sex with him which was the first time she had ever cheated on her husband. This awakened a strong restless feeling with her sexless marriage. She went to work at her new position to find that the man she had met in the bar was the son of the new owner. He was now going to be her new boss as the owner had decided to run the US branch. This created a huge dilemma as he did not date married women or employees. In addition , she did not want to cheat on her husband even though they were very attracted to each other. There attraction was so strong that they had many sexual encounters. Their attraction became obvious to coworkers and his sister. El had a number of uncomfortable situation as she and her husband went to dinner at the owners house and her lover was there. Michael began having secretive meetings that kept him out of town and he would not tell El what he was doing. This led to further distance in their marriage. As the story progressed, many secrets were revealed about the relationships between the various friends and family members. I recommend this book.

Fantastic, really compelling, twisty story. I became immensely involved with the characters and the complexities of their lives. The storyline built up expertly with lots of hints and clues along the way and the writing ticks loads of boxes for humour, mystery, family secrets and definitely not least its racier side. The story holds up on any of those genres, however, on their own so as a whole it’s an absolute treat which gels really well and seamlessly.
I read the whole thing in two sittings as I really needed to know how it panned out for El and although I guessed the ending, it was quite near the end that it all clicked together for me and definitely not disappointing. I absolutely recommend this, my next read has a lot to live up to.

I NEVER WANTED THIS BOOK TO END.

From the get-go, this book had me gripped into its grasp. It had humour, sadness, troubles, twists, and turns from every single page. I both laughed and cried with disparaging moments, lol.
I'm normally a quick reader but quickly found I didn't want this book to end. All the characters never felt secondary or unessasary, they each own their parts in this story. Each character having the best personality for their roles.
The rolloercoaster of emotions I felt reading this book was everything I love in a story and with all this said I beg anyone who likes a book that keeps you guessing to take a change this great read.
The author really has done a great job with this book that has nudged its way into my top 5 fav romance reads.

If you are looking for angsty filled book with many twists, turns and secrets then this could be the book for you!
Eloise has just gone back to work and is feeling like her life is changing left right and centre, shes unsure where her marriage is going next and just wants to be loved.
A chance meeting in a night club goes from amazing to crazy in one blink.
Cy is the most lovable ar"ehole that youd want in your life, hes protective, sweet and just wants the best for El.
My favourite characters were Balder and Jezza who both brought some lightness into this emotional read.

Wow! i stumbled across this simply by accident but man am i glad i did.

This story was Elle M Thomas debut and i think this is one hell of a way to storm into the romance scene with this absolute brilliant addictive story!

Secrets lies and deceit. Manipulation.
Love, trust explosive chemistry, intense passion and steamy Disaster in Waiting had it all. i was utterly consumed by this one and found i could not put it down.

It’s a long story but yet no way did i think any part of it was unnecessary.

I fell deeply for Cy Miller!

I really enjoyed this book, I love the cover and I love the title.
Some scenes did get repetitive but during these scenes you saw how the characters changed and grew. Cy was quite dominating to begin with, El was snappy. They continued this but you could see how they were adapting to the needs of the other. Talking more, different actions, I thought this was very well done.
The story flowed and kept me interested. I had fun, I cried. It really brought out the emotions!
I would happily read more from this author.

I received a complimentary copy of Disaster-In-Waiting in exchange for an honest review. What a great start to the novel. Everything about the meeting and chemistry and meeting between Eloise and Michael kept making me want to read as fast as I could to see what was going to happen next.

As the book went on, it became long winded and repetitive. I finished the book, but it definitely could have been shortened and several story lines could have been removed involving of the family drama on Michael's side.

I really liked this story.
It was a lot longer than I expected. It took me about 10 hours to read.
Plot lines kept closing and new ones would continue the story right away. The sex scenes got very repetitive and I ended up skipping over the majority of them after about halfway through the book.
The plot kept me engaged, even as I kept thinking I was close to the end of the book. The first time I thought the book was almost finished, a major plot line came to a close, was like 16% through the story. No complaints here though. I liked the characters. No one annoyed me too much. I read it almost straight through.

Disaster in waiting is truly brilliant. I completely and utterly fell in love with this book. Elle M Thomas has captured the main characters El and Cy brilliantly. Cy is everything you would want in a man, sexy, sensitive but naughty when it counts. El is lovable, at some point in the book I just wanted to give her a hug. The thing I enjoyed the most was there was a twist in the storyline, it wasn't just Cy and El falling in love, everything that happens in the book completely hooked me in, I really struggled to put it down at times. I would highly recommend this to anyone, Elle M Thomas is a great writer and can't wait to read more by her.

Definite must read - Couldn't get enough of Cy and El

Absolutely loved this story and its characters. I could have easily stayed longer with Cy and El, the two main characters in this wonderful romance novel. I had a very hard time to put the book down and missed out on sleep because I just enjoyed the story so much.

If you like wonderful characters, a great storyline, some shocking plot twists, and lots of fantastic steamy scenes, this story is for you. I'll certainly recommend this book to everyone because it made my heart happy.

Good

This is a good story, if you can get past the h being married to someone other than the H for the entire book. It was sorely in need of editing, though. It was way, way too long and many conversations were repeated over and over that could have been cut to shorten it. The characters are interesting, the secondary characters are fun, if a little to plentiful, and the plot is good.

Balder

I love all of Elle's book's. You can be guaranteed great characters, good plots, lots of smut and an emotional breakdown or two, this book is no exception. The only thing that did grate on me was the extremely long winded sentences. I found them hard to read, but that's just me. Another great read and more than worth the money.

When this book started I didn't like the Hero.
It is a good story. There is a lot going on and more to it than you first think.

This started out great. I was really drawn in and thought about the chemistry between our hero and heroine, but as time went on (this is a surprisingly long read) and more characters were brought in, it started to get into melodrama. The mystery won't be a surprise for many readers, but who got together, in the end, is a stretch for a happy ending I don't think was needed and brought my rating down.

Disaster-in-Waiting by Elle M Thomas

This book was a bit of a slow starter but there were many twists involved .

Some parts of the book were very repetitive and on the whole a bit predictable.

It was a longer read than it needed to be thus making me lose interest in the story a bit disappointing.
