This is different from the usual Harlequin medical. It was a page turned from the beginning. The hero would be a beta male IMO but I am not sure who the heroine is.On an isolated island off the Australian coast, a forensic doctor comes to do a locum for her GP friend so that he can take some time off for something important. Suddenly the past becomes alive. The new doctor is faced with murders, storms, an island cut off from the mainland, and lots of questions that need answers. The chief policeman 's wife goes into labor with hysterics, the school blows up and a woman from the past arrived with her private detective to expose the man who killed her sister. If course there is a romance under all of this with a HEA.

I really liked this book. It had great characters, emotions, and suspense that kept everything moving along nicely. So far I've enjoyed the Dr. Detective 'series' and how Dr. Sarah always ends up with a mystery/crime where-ever she goes. Kinda keeps her life interesting I guess. I would read this again, but more for a cuddle-up or rainy day read. I didn't expect the 'perp' to be who it was. Rowena was way ahead of me on that one. I liked the HEA (implied) and am happy for the characters, I'm glad they can read each other, doesn't work that way in my family, kinda wish it did sometimes. Enjoy.
