Three things sum up Valentine Marsden at this moment: she’s got a sweet tooth so deep she opened her own bakery; she hates the holiday that is her namesake; and she just might be charged with murder tomorrow morning when she strangles the contractor next door banging on the walls during the busiest week of the year. Valentine finds herself bumping into the completely sexy and totally cocky stranger more and more often. So often she’s beginning to think he’s a working man with a serious sweet tooth...

Ford Knox has spent almost twenty years secluding himself from the public, retreating to his mountain cabin after work everyday without a second thought for complicated things like women and relationships. But when the syrupy sweet and dangerously curvy bakery owner next door seems to fall right into his lap this Valentine's Day, he winds up drunk on her and desperate for more. Knox is a real man with a wicked appetite, and Valentine is the only thing he can see.

Warning: Sweet Valentine is cocky, blue-collar alpha goodness with a dash of sweet candy hearts, lush chocolate-dipped strawberries, and sawdust-scented first kisses. Grab a chocolate martini because Knox and Valentine are about to melt your insides!

I don't even have a starting quote for this. The book is just no. It's filled with no.

It's not disgustingly bad, like some erotica. But it's not good either.

The first thing that is going to put you off is the intro - an intro I'm not even sure why Cole decided to include.

So freneutntly she's beginning to think he's a working man with a sweet tooth.
...

Ford Knox has spent twenty-five years sucluding himself from the public...
...
withitout a second thought for comicated things like woman and love....
...

But when the totally sweet and smetimes spicy treat next door....
...

Knox is a man with a wicked appeitite...
...

Warning: Sweet Valentine is cocky blue collar alpha goodness with a dash of sweet candy hearts, lush chocalte-dipped strawbberies, and sawdust-scented first kisses.

What. What. I was unsure I could even continue with this unreadable garbage.

Luckily, as soon as the story proper starts, Cole suddenly learns how to spell. So crisis averted, I guess.

Unfortunately the story that follows is not good.

Cole tries to convince us that Knox is a good man. She basically does this by saying, "He's a good guy. Not like his slimy colleagues." Nothing in his actions suggests he's a good man IRL. Instead, he promptly goes over to the bakery next door and starts hitting on the poor woman working there, Valentine. Instead of being angry at him for sexually harassing her, she seems to think this is charming. He does stuff like tell her to feed him forkfuls of food. Which she actually does. Even though she's just met him three minutes ago. And it's fucking creepy.

Cole is obviously a big fan of telling, not showing, because she also claims Valentine is a feminist even though she does exactly ZERO feminist things in this novel. But she says she's a feminist, so she must be one, apparently.

Knox is 15 years older than Valentine, who is 24. He acts like this is a huge deal and keeps talking about how he could be her father. It's annoying. He always refers to himself as 'old' and 'old man' even though he's only 39. It's ridiculous.

She's 24 and very, very gorgeous and she's never had sex before nor ever had an orgasm before. Sure.

They have unprotected sex, because he 'just has to.' Or something.

They after knowing each other all of two weeks.

Tl;dr - There's a lot more wrong with this, but that's all I remember from the top of my head.

VERDICT: Skip this and read Craving It All by Kati Wilde. Same basic premise, 100x better in execution.

4.5 STICKY SWEET STARS

“What does it feel like when I touch you?” he breathed at my ear.
"Like molten chocolate running through my veins.” His chin tipped up, a little cocky, a lot sexy. “That sounds delicious.”

This story was short and sweet with just a few sex scene sprinkled in to give it a little spice.
It really was the perfect little Valentine's read that I needed.
It hit the sweet spot deliciously!

description

The hero Knox was a lot older at 39 but he was the perfect gentleman. Yes, he could say some naughty things but he was also very protective and caring.

I loved Knox old school values. He believes that his construction buddy are too vulgar in their treatment and/or conversations about the opposite sex.
He thinks...
You just don’t say shit like that about women. Women were meant to be loved, doted on, taken care of. They weren’t sexy toys meant to star in some raunchy asshole’s fantasies.

I loved that about him.
He was just so sweet.

description

And Valentine was just so sweet and caring. She was not some weak will woman without a spine. She was strong and sassy and she could kickass!
She explains
“You don’t know what it’s like to be me. I’ve never fit in with people my age. I worked full time through college, managed to pay off all my debts by the time I graduated, and still had enough money saved for the down payment on this building. I may have been born twenty-four years ago, Knox, but I feel older than that, and a hell of a lot wiser.”
So this girl knew what she wanted and was going to follow her own path no matter what!

description

The whole thing was cute and adorable but what made it OTT FOR ME was the EPIC EPILOGUE.
Who doesn't want over the top romance and sweetness on Valentine's Day?

description

Happy reading and have a SWEET VALENTINE'S DAY ALL!

What does it feel when I touch you?” he breathed at my ear.
“Like molten chocolate running through my veins.”

After “Under Construction”, we have another worker who makes himself noticeable.
What is this thing will the blue collar heroes who like to bang the walls? At least this time Knox is causing noise because of his work.

Valentine has a small bakery next to the construction site, where Knox works. Although she really does not like the Valentines’ day or her name which is associated with this celebration, she will find love this time of the year.
Knox with his salt and pepper hair and his straightforward approach will make Valentine appreciate this special Day.

“Thinking you’re getting sleep on Valentines’ Day. You’ re cute…
Let’s get home, Valentine.”

Perfect, yummy, sweet story to enjoy on the Valentine’s Day.
Happy Valentine’s Day ;)

This one started out really good for me. Sometimes I love ACs books and sometimes not so much. I was thinking I was going to love this one.

There were moments that the H and h were kissing and he'd say how he wanted to do something to make her safe and she'd turn into a bit of a shrew for no reason. One minute she's sweet, the next her claws were out for no apparent reason.

My other big issue with her was why in the hell was she so against love and romance? Her parents by the sounds of it had a beautiful and loving marriage and were always very much in love. So wtf was she so anti-romance?

Anyways Knox was awesome so my stars are for him.

Another great Valentine story from Aria Cole and I loved it! It's a short, enjoyable read.

The story is about Knox and Valentine.

Knox has been working for Caruso's Contracting for 19 years and his current jobsite's next to Valentine's Sweet Tooth Bakery.

Valentine can take of herself and doesn't need protection but it never hurts to have a man who's always there to protect you.

It has two beautiful epilogues with marriage and babies.

Knox is working as a contractor on a building next door to a bakery. He hasn't been in it but he hears the men he works with talking about the sweet confection next door who owns the shop. While on lunch he decides he want to try a chocolate croissant he saw in the window while going to work. When he finally gets a look at the shop owner he knows she is something special and his mission is now to make her his.

Valentine owns Sweet Tooth Bakery. She is getting prepared for Valentine's day when Knox walks in. She is taking by him and doesn't understand why but as she get to know him she can't deny how he makes her feel.

This was sweet story but I would lie if it was things about it I didn't buy. I have to say I loved Knox. He was a sweet, nice alpha guy. Valentine is where some things happened I didn't buy. It was like he author was trying to keep from making her too sweet so she overreacts to something Knox said and supposedly she is against all things romance and hates Valentine's day. And this is in spite of her parents have a great romance. I don't buy that and no old bad relationship or just any reason given for why she supposedly feels this way. So in trying to keep her being too sweet it failed my believably radar because of the failed execution of the character. The whole part with the supposed villain was also a moment that failed for me and mostly again because it was she can take care of herself and a damsel in distress moment too. So I kind rolled my eyes at it. I am being hard on this I know but it for me could have been better if not for those moments but I have some friends I know would love this especially since the hero was so not a manho, really sweet, and old alpha type. So good but for me could have been better.

1.5 stars.

Insta-love story with little character or plot development, this is what I expected from a short. It wasn't very smutty, which I appreciated and the H was, surprise surprise, not a manho. He earned an extra half star for this short. I liked his character even though he wasn't very fleshed out. He said that he couldn't even remember the last time he'd been intimate with someone. And his inner monologue revealed that he actually respected and liked women. Men who cheated on their wives/significant others disgusted him. His character was so refreshing in the romance genre.

Unfortunately, the h was pretty boring and not memorable. If her name weren't so unusual and in the title, I would have forgotten it already. Overall, this was an unobjectionable way to cleanse the reading palate.

I truly enjoyed this sweet treat! Just what you need for a Valentine's day story.

Ford Knox was a great hero. Not a manwhore and had been celibate for years. He saw Valentine and that was it for him.

Valentine, on the other hand, wasn't very likable for me. I thought she ran kinda hot and cold. She was sweet one minute, then snapped at Knox the next. I kept thinking there was going to be a revelation of sorts as to why she was like that but nothing ever surfaced. She was like a sour patch kid. Knox took it in stride but it left me feeling indifferent to her.

-great hero
-not so great heroine
-no cheating or ow/om drama whatsoever
-not very steamy (in fact, I can't even remember the sex scenes)
-two cute epilogues

I liked this sweet story. I liked hero, heroine and storyline. Knox and Valentine are cute together. I will admit that I was hoping for Knox to be more of an alpha. But he wasn’t. I will admit that I saw the protective and loving side of him. But I didn’t totally see the ‘’can’t keep my hands off of her’’ till just over half way through. Despite that, I wanted Valentine to get her man.
I really enjoyed the epilogue for this book. I liked how Knox was as a father, and his love for his wife.
The storyline is easy to follow and a sweet valentine story. If you like fast paced, sweet romance then this book is for you.

Ford Knox has spent the last twenty years alone. He likes his seclusion. When he meets the curvy beauty that is Valentine, he has to have her. Making excuses to go into her bakery, he tries to break her defences and get to know her. Valentine is living her dream. She has her own bakery and her own home. When construction starts on the next-door building, she meets Knox. No matter how hard she tries, he starts to worm his way into her heart. Never having had a date for Valentines, will she finally get the love she not only deserves but also desires?

A mountain man and a baker find the sweetest recipe together.

I love it when one of my to-go-to authors concoct a treat like this to sweeten a holiday. This cute little story is all about sugary morsels, a lightning-fast attraction, and falling in love forever.

Knox and Valentine are such loving characters. I liked Knox because he's a construction worker who respects women and knows how to enchant his woman with nice words and hot lips.

As to V, she's an expert in baking delicious desserts and is smart and driven, yet melts when her mountain man showers her with care, caresses and a passion that closes the gap in their ages.

Very pretty epilogues to sweeten anyone's Valentine's Day.

Sticky sweet and full of sugar, Aria Cole is back with her newest release just in time for that love holiday... Valentine's Day. She's known for insta everything and over the top alphas... and man she deliver with one sexy silver fox.

Sweet Valentine was the perfect romance when love is in the air. This story hooked me from the start and didn't meet go until the pages quit turning. I swooned, smiled, laughed, got crash hot-n-bothered, and fell head over heels in love.

If you like your books quick, sweet, and fun then this is for you.

I highly recommend this book.

Super Sweet and Romantic novella based on the upcoming romantic holiday for lovers –Valentine’s Day. If you love stories that have install-love/ insta-attraction, then this is the read for you!
Knox and Valentine definitively are the “IT” couple that make this book super hot; I didn’t find Knox as alpha as I would have expected so maybe he could have been more alpha but still, this was a good read. He was still a protective and safe hero for the heroine, Valentine. I loved how Valentine lives for her dream, her bakery but hates the Valentine’s Day holiday due to the past. Will Knox get Valentine , will he show her how dearly he wants her and prove that he can change future Valentine Days between them?
I liked the pace and the flow of the story and the ending was fantastic! I always love Aria Cole and her books, this was no different. She could write a grocery list and I would turn over $$ to read what was on the list because of how she wrote it, she is just that good. I fell in love with her plot, her characters and the hot and sexy romance in this book. Just a few things needed to be tweaked. Otherwise, this would have been a 5 star read.

My rating: 4.5 stars ****

Super quick, sickly sweet read.

In true Aria Cole style, this is a sweet, hot romance with a happily ever after.

There is a rugged man with a heart of gold just waiting for the right woman to come along. The woman happens to run a bakery filled with mouth watering sweets and looks like Sofia Vergara. Oh and her name happens to be Valentine. Don't the let the name fool you, she is strong, independent and definitely can do things on her own.

The romance takes place over a few days and you get not one but two epilogues with everything wrapped up and delivered in a super sweet bow, or in this case, icing on top.

I recommend reading for the descriptions of the sweets alone. That being said, there is great chemistry between the characters and a particular scene that occurs in the back of the bakery which is quite hot.

Cue in a super cute cabin setting in a small town, a quirky best friend that makes a fleeting appearance and a jerk of a guy that allows the main man Knox to flex his muscle and come to the rescue, not that Valentine needed it, she had it under control guys.

I like these books as a bit of a guilty pleasure in between some more serious reads and it definitely hit the spot.

I groaned, just as the front door swung open...and Knox walked in.
I don’t know how to explain the way the air seemed to be pulled from my lungs in one swoop as soon as he entered, but it happened.
I lifted a hand to my chest, trying to calm the rapid pace of my heart before forcing a smile. ‘Hi Knox.”

A sweet baker and a rough construction worker, midnight trysts, tempting kisses and delicious chocolate treats make up this sweet story.
Ford Knox is running a construction job next door to Valentine’s bakery. When he comes across the beautiful baker next door everything in his body ignites. Knox is a mountain man, no woman, lives alone and works hard. He’s a little rough around the edges, but it’s nothing a sweet woman can’t change.
Valentine can’t help but feel the all-consuming lust that runs through her when Knox walks into the room. The man commands respect as well as attention, hers in particular. He also has a way of protecting her that reaches her heart, making her yearn for more than a kiss.
A sexually enticing connection surges between these two lovebirds and it won’t be contained. I devoured this must read in less than an hour, high on my recommendation list.

This is a short and sweet Valentines Day story about two lonely people who find each other. Valentine can't stand her name or the holiday she was named after. She owns her own bakery called Sweet Tooth Bakery and Valentines Day is her busiest time of the year. The empty shop next door to her bakery is undergoing construction and the constant noise and banging is driving her crazy. Ford Knox has been working construction for 19 years. He spends most of his free time alone in his secluded cabin in the middle of the woods. He gets annoyed when he overhears his co-workers talking about the hot chick who owns the bakery next door. He goes to the bakery to get a treat and he's shocked by his attraction to Valentine. He wants her ... bad but he's concerned about their age difference. She doesn't care about age because she's always felt more comfortable around older people.
