From the Bestselling Author Kat Carson!

Southeast Oklahoma Fall 1877

The unknown challenges of southeast Oklahoma Territory in the late 1800s test the faith, grit, and determination of three sisters relying on their hopes of finding true love as they travel westward as mail-order brides. Unforeseen challenges confront them every step of the way - from the Jesse James gang to the challenges of the rugged wilderness. Journey into the Old West with them as they overcome emotional struggles and face every new day with a strength and spirit that tames the west - and forges new bonds of love – as they face their own destinies.

Alice Wilson, the oldest of three sisters takes a chance when she replies to an ad in the newspaper. Is it possible? Three brothers looking for three brides? She ventures west first to marry Joshua Caruthers, the oldest of three brothers.

-She couldn’t even begin to anticipate the challenges she’d face.

-How can she avoid the attentions of outlaw Jesse James?

-Why does her future mother-in-law seem to dislike her on sight?

-Can she find happiness for herself and her sisters with the Caruthers boys?

Alice is determined to face every new challenge with dignity and pride, but in the back of her mind, she struggles with her fear of failure. The bonds of love run deep. Will opening her heart to Joshua break those bonds?  She’s willing to risk everything to keep her siblings together.

....“a story of hope, fear, romance, suspense and true love.”....

While this book is part of a romance series, it can definitely be read as a standalone book.

Jesse James, wrong name for the story

Alice is the older of her sisters three in total.
Her mother is sick, her father and twin brothers have passed away. They will loose the only home they have. She reads the paper and comes across an add for mail Order brides wanted.
The add asks for three sisters to wed three brothers. She decides to go first to make sure everything is good before sending for her sisters.

Joshua‘s mother has posted the advertisement for the mail Order brides. Only to find out now his mother doesn’t want Alice to marry her son.

My complaint is this, the name of the book, okay so Alice has a meal with some men on the train she tells Joshua about the men, and he believes the men are Jesse James and his gang of outlaws. And on her wedding day after they are married, she thinks she seen him standing by the door of the church.

There are no tales about him, he doesn’t have a main character feel in the book. He really could have been anyone.
Apart from that the book is okay

Very short story - good premise, but could use an editor. There were mistakes throughout - ex. it's "reticule", not "ridicule" for a woman's bag. Should be "brothers" in some cases, not "brother's".

And as others have said, the title of the book is wrong. Apart from eating with supposedly Jesse James, then having him appear at the back door after her wedding, he has nothing to do with the story. Not sure why the book is titled "Jesse James".

Love the family and God at work

What a sweet story line. How the mother’s emotions are tied to the new bride. Both are the same only different.

Wonderful story..

I enjoyed the series of stories telling of three sisters who took part in the mail order brides program. I read it back words, started with the third, then the second, then third, it was alright because they are stand alone stories. Wonderful stories.
