My copy was published in 1988, and at that time it was probably a decent update to household hints books from 20+ years earlier. Funny to read now, as the entire section on getting organized revolves around making lists and keeping stuff on paper calendars and date books, all which have been replaced in the past 30 years with electronic devices.
My favorite tip from this book is this; Expecting company for dinner and not enough time to clean house? That's cool - just turn down the lights and put out some candles. Guests won't see the dirt if the lights are low!
You may laugh, but this is a very good reference for those that are not naturally handy around the house (or apartment). It includes tips and tidbits on subjects like common household insects, cleaning everything, organizing, and applying makeup. The little illustrations are hokey but it is very informative. Really.
This has information on how to fix just about everything in your home that could possibly go wrong. My copy was published in 88 and I can see where having something like this would have been necessary back then.
