Totally His is the third book in Erin Nicholas' Opposites Attract series, but could be read as a standalone in my opinion. The story follows Sophie, an actress who grew up being taught by her unreliable father not to trust, and Finn a fun-loving fireman who rescues her.

I really enjoyed Sophie and Finn's relationship. As much as I loved their heated chemistry what I liked the most was how they interacted with each other. They had amazing dialogue and the author kept it all pretty light and fun which I felt fit perfectly for these characters. I did feel like there were time that the back and forth Sophie did of wanting to be with Finn but then telling herself she had to stay away got to be a little much. It became a little repetitive and at a few parts seemed to slow the story down just some.

Overall, this was a perfect ending to this series and I actually want to go back and read all of these books over again. If you're looking for a light contemporary read with a sexy Hero, pick up this book.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

With a father that made a living scamming women, Sophie has learned to depend on herself and guard her heart. When her theater ends up with some fire damage, she suddenly finds a hot cop invading her life.
The hot woman in pink lingerie caught Finn's attention right away but her guarded heart is giving him quite the challenge.
Sophie and Finn are about to be hit with a hurricane of past hurts, family drama, and sexual chemistry.

Maybe she'd give him a chance. The thought flashed through his mind. Maybe he'd like theater. Or maybe this was an opposites-attract thing. That seemed more likely. Or hell, maybe they could just date for the sex.

Third in the Opposites Attract series, we have our guarded heroine Sophie and open hearted hero Finn. Sophie's two girlfriends were the heroines of the two previous books but I had no problem starting here in the series. If you like Jill Shalvis, you'll enjoy this couple’s similar in tone playful encounters. The first half of this book was incredibly delightful with Finn and Sophie meeting and acting out some great fun and hot chemistry.

How he wanted to say sweet things like how gorgeous she was and how lucky he felt that she'd let him close like this. Close was hard for her. This was not sex-only dating, and he knew she knew that.

A fire gives our couple their meet-cute but Sophie actually ends up being the great theater friend Finn's mother had been raving about. Finn is the oldest and every since his father died, he's taken on the role of leader and taking care of everyone. I liked his calm, cool, and take care of business attitude that was also accompanied with a sense of humor and sexy demeanor. He was a great companion to Sophie's kickboxing, I don't want any part of a family, and feisty self. The first half was them meeting, feeling each other out, and sparking off each other and I enjoyed it immensely. After that, it seemed their relationship was a bit rushed with their second meeting kind of snowballing into a pretty invasive personal talk and not a ton of long interactions. The story started getting a bit repetitive with Sophie fearing getting close to Finn and his family, being hot and heavy with him, and then proclaiming she must stay away.

And he wanted to eat ice cream in bed with her. He wanted to read out loud to her. In bed. And he wanted to talk dirty to her. In bed. In the shower. In the kitchen. In his truck. There were so many dirty things he wanted to say to her, do to her, hear from her. /i>

After our leads sweet, lively, and down and dirty beginning, I was little disappointed in the second half not providing some more depth to their relationship. A vast majority of the scenes take place in the theater, Sophie doesn't spend any time with her friends, and not a ton of scenes of Finn and Sophie interacting with the large amount of secondary characters. For the big role Finn's mom plays in the story she actually stayed a bit too much to the sidelines along with Finn's brother and partner. Having Sophie and Finn's friends and family stay to the side too much gives the story a lack of depth that small town (this actually takes place in Boston but there is clearly a community of people that the author is focusing on to provide a small town feeling) contemporary romance is known and loved for.

Sophie's father provided a good antagonist to keep our leads from an easy happily ever after but for the most part this story was pretty heavy angst free. This was a sweet story that wasn't afraid to also get down and dirty. I greatly enjoyed visiting the Kelly family starring Finn and will look forward to his firefighter brother Colin hopefully getting top billing next time.

I have enjoyed the other two books in this series, so I was excited to get to this one.

Love love loved Sophie and Finn. She’s sassy and feisty and he’s loyal and strong. Together they’re really good people with a crap load of chemistry. I loved the large family and as always, it’s delightful to get a glimpse of the previous couples.

Plot wise, it’s nearly all fluff, which is my favorite. There is a bit of conflict when it comes to Sophie’s dad and while it does span the entire book, it wasn’t too bad.

Overall, it was a quick and cute read. I have a feeling it’ll be a book I read when I need a pick-me-up.

This was the third and final book in the Opposites Attract series but it can definitely be read as a stand alone. Although having read the other two books in this series, I was excited to finally get to Sophie's story. Being the daughter of a con man, Sophie has definite issues with getting involved in a relationship. Especially if that man also happens to be the son of a dear friend and mother figure. Despite being warned away from Sophie for the same reason, Finn cannot help but fall for Sophie. This was an enjoyable romantic and sometimes funny read as the troubled and slightly damaged Sophie realizes that love doesn't have to hurt. Erin Nichols knows how to create very likeable characters that you can't help but root for.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

I have LOVED the Opposites Attract series from Erin Nicholas from the start and Totally His was flat out fabulous as we are introduced to a policeman whose wild, crazy Irish family is bound and determined to help out a local playhouse owner after a fire destroys part of her theater. As a lover of this author’s work, I’m already envisioning a whole series about the Kelly family or perhaps the police officers and firefighters we meet in this book. (No pressure there Erin…LOL.) I loved Totally His because it had many layers; it was about all kinds of relationships, both healthy and unhealthy, it was about two people really having to work at meeting each other’s needs, learning to compromise and accepting your flaws. These were not perfect characters, not by a long shot and they had some fundamental differences about family, like, and love, but watching them fall even when they didn’t want to was sweet, funny, and oh so sexy.

Sophia “Sophie” Birch loves the playhouse her grandmother left her more than anything in the world. For her it is the stability she hasn’t had since she was a young girl and when it catches on fire, she is concerned her life might never be the same. One thing she feels compelled to do is to go back in the building to save the screenplay written by one of her friends and volunteers, what she doesn’t expect is to have to fight off a police officer who seems determined to save her or how much she likes it.

Finn Kelly can’t believe it when he has to go after a woman who returns to the burning Birch Playhouse or how she fights him when he tries to remove her. He won’t deny he is attracted to her or the fact he likes her feistiness, but duty and safety come first. When he finds out the playhouse means more to his mom he ever expected, Finn calls on friends and family to help, he just has no idea that woman he pulled out of the building is his Mom’s friend and knows he’s in trouble.

Sophie and Finn come from two very different upbringings which has shaped the way they look at the world and relationships. It was interesting watching Sophie who has shied away from families and especially men with families fall head over heels in love with Finn’s family and eventually Finn. Finn realized early on that Sophie needed his mom and so he tried to just be Sophie’s friend, but with each passing day as he uncovered every little thing about it he lost his heart to her.

For the most part the struggles these two had came from outside sources and while it did affect them, they learned to adapt, learned to compromise, and worked to understand what each other needed from their relationship better.

Between Sophie’s friends, Finn’s friends and family there were a lot of people in this story and it was busy, but the friendship and eventual relationship between Sophie and Finn was front and center the whole time with everyone and everything else revolving around them.

Fun, sexy, with moments of seriousness, Totally His was a completely entertaining story that I loved from start to finish.

Totally His by Erin Nicholas was such a lovely read.
I enjoyed the storyline, it was sweet, fun, emotional, well written and I found it hard to put down.

Sophie and Finn were wonderful, entertaining characters that I easily connected with. I enjoyed watching their relationship unfold. They made me laugh, they made me swoon and they touched my heart with their love.
They had a strong connection from the first meeting and their chemistry was off the charts!
These two might have been opposites in a lot of ways but together they balanced each other and totally belonged together.

Erin Nicholas writes enjoyable small town romances, including the Sapphire Falls series that first attracted me to her writing. Now she’s moved on to the bigger city of Boston, but by focusing on a local theater and its community players she successfully retains that close knit feel while being able to expand her cast of characters. Totally His takes a look at some complicated family dynamics while providing the reader with a fun and sexy story.

When Sophie Birch’s small independent theater catches fire, her desperation to save a one of a kind, completed manuscript leads her to some not too smart decisions – like sneaking back in to rescue it. Caught in the act by police officer Finn Kelly, it’s not her best moment. Nor does it bode well when Finn turns out to be the son of one of her favorite people, Angie, a widow who has become a key member of Sophie’s theater community.

Sophie’s rocky relationship with her con man father, Frank, keeps her from getting close to people so he can’t use those relationships against her. But since he’s half owner of the theater, she can’t stop him from coming around, or taking half the insurance money. This leaves her short on funds to rebuild, and when she shares this with Angie, the news gets around to Finn who brings some of his friends and family by to help.

Sophie can’t afford to turn down Finn’s offer, and after seeing all that man-candy in action in their construction gear, her friends convince her to include them in the next play she puts on. All that hot stuff on stage will draw an enthusiastic crowd, give the guys a chance to show their community spirit, and ensure some great ticket sales to help pay for the repairs. When Finn offers to play the lead romantic role opposite Sophie, it ensures that they’ll get to know each other better. But Sophie has learned the hard way that getting close to someone is a sure way to get hurt. Can the happy ever after ending they get on stage become a real life one too?

I confess to being a bit worried about whether I’d like the heroine based on her actions early on, but the author manages to give enough explanation and justification for them that my doubts didn’t linger. From that point on, Sophie comes across as a passionate and articulate woman, with a realistic if sometimes cynical perspective on life. Her relationship with her father, Frank, is complex. She’s had several stepmothers, all women Frank had conned into marrying him, using Sophie as a pawn. When those relationships ended, she lost a mom all over again. Yet, he’s still her father, and he still kept every promise he made to her as a child and loves her in his own misbegotten way. Her main reason for avoiding Angie’s family is to keep Frank away from them, something she can no longer do when Frank shows up again to cause his usual trouble. Only this time, she’s got backup.

Finn is a pretty straightforward, ‘what you see is what you get’ kind of guy. He’s single, he’s a good cop, and his dating life at the moment is pretty non-existent. He comes from a big extended family where everyone knows everyone else’s business and is always willing to lend a helping hand. Once Finn meets Sophie, he feels very strongly that he should be the guy to jump in and ‘save’ her. But she doesn’t want saving, which takes him a while to understand. Plus, despite Sophie’s warnings, he can’t resist giving Frank a helping hand. At times this is really frustrating for Sophie (and me as a reader). I really liked that the author doesn’t sugar-coat Frank’s behavior, or rehabilitate him just because he’s exposed to the ‘nice’ Kelly family. I also really appreciated that Finn and Sophie have to compromise to make their relationship work and yet neither loses their sense of self in the process.

Despite their different views of family and long term relationships, the attraction between them doesn’t let up. Playing the part of the romantic couple in the play gives them the excuse to practice their kissing scenes, and things soon get pretty steamy. The author writes great sex scenes, with heat and humor. As the story progresses there are some plot points that I thought might get glossed over but Ms. Nicholas wraps everything up in a neat way with a thoroughly satisfactory ending. Totally His delivers an engaging and sexy romance.

This was a bit of a different Erin Nicholas read than normal, but just as good as the rest!!

I completely adored Sophie. She's strong, big hearted, and feisty as all get out. She's one of those characters you can't help but fall in love with, and throttle any @$$hole who dare mess with her. Finn was a sexy, alpha hero, with a bit of a fixer complex.

The banter between these two and most of the secondary characters had me cracking up. Colin quickly wormed his way in to my heart, and the rest of Finn's family had me wanting that kind of relationship with my own.

This book was an emotional read for me. Like, I don't think I've ever dropped the f-bomb as much as I did while reading this, and the word douchebag was a common nickname for one of the secondary characters.

This must read will draw you in from the beginning, and keep you drawn in with the drama, antics, and steamy scenes we get throughout. I would definitely recommend one clicking it!!!

I enjoy Erin Nicholas. If she writes it, I will read it, because I know when I open one of her books, I am going to enjoy it. I am going to like the characters, and I am going to be able to believe in the relationship that she creates between them.

Finn and Sophie meet when he catches her rushing into a burning building and has to carry her out because she is resisting arrest and refusing to leave quietly. And, not only do you see in this scene that Sophie is feisty, you also get a good look at who Finn is...and that he really, at the end of the day, just wants everything to work out for everyone so they can all just go on about the things they need to do.

This carries through the book and both is the reason Sophie falls in love with him, and the reason she believes they are not able to be together.

By the end, there is a resolution that works and it is a real world resolution. And, this is the other thing I love about Erin Nicholas. Her characters live in the real world, the fixes to the situation are real world. They feel like a conversation, and a resolution, that could have happened in my own life last week. I love this about her books.

I recommend this title.

I didn’t expect to enjoy this one quite as much as I did. A cop and a theater owner … yes, please! I love how they met – so perfect given their characters. Sophie and Finn are such an interesting mix and their journey is quite interesting and compelling. The story was more complex than some of the romances that I have read which was a nice change of pace. It was a quick but satisfying read. I love the whole finding a family theme of the book. I loved how Sophie was a bit damaged and yet still found her place in the world. I love how sassy and real Sophie felt. And it’s the little things – trying to meditate and then deciding to box to metal music. That so sums her up! She’s an interesting character to follow. Really good story. I’m going to go back and read the earlier novels in this series. It definitely read like a stand-alone but I can’t wait to go back and see how things played out before this one. Really solid romance!

Totally His (Opposites Attract) by Erin Nicholas
The lure of Erin Nicholas is that through the drama and heartbreak she never holds back on the realism.  Using the defining moments in life such as falling in love, facing fears and learning about what makes us who we are, she stays true to life and allows hints of the childhood fairy tale to filter into adult happiness.  Totally His takes on fear and self - doubt with the humor that is Ms. Nicholas' trademark and the emotion that every fan expects.  Sophie makes neurotic sexy while Finn thrives on keeping readers guessing.  With a flair for fun and a penchant for romance, this couple shoots for the stars and hits the bullseye.

The beginning resemble the one in book 1 with the hero arriving on the scene of a catastrophe with people on costume, but instead of a roof collapsing at a videogame convention, it's a fire at a theater. And the hero is not a paramedic but a cop. But that's when the similarities stop, because the book have a different tone than the others in the series. It was still good and fun, but I found it more serious and frustrating at time, because of one secondary character who tainted the ambience of the book.

Finn see Sophie trying to get back into the burning building and follow her. She need to find a script written by her friend and will have to trick the cop to save it. But it's a small word and when Finn's mother ask him to help with the clean up and the repair of her dear theater, what a surprise for her to realize Angie is Finn's mother and what a surprise for him to learn she's his mother's friend.

I felt bad for Sophie when I learned her father is a con man and how much hold it had and still have on her life. I hate "leech" characters and I absolutely hated Frank ! I can't find the right words to describe how much he irritated me and how despicable he was ! As if his attitude was not enough, I just can't understand why not only Sophie but a lot of other characters let him get off so easily with his behavior and accept him and accept that's how it's gonna be with him. I don't care it's fiction; if someone commited a crime he should pay for it !

It's clear for the heroine she'll never marry and have a family. Not because she doesn't want one, but because she know her father will ruin everything. So that's why she date for sex and never get attach to anybody. But Finn and his big outgoing family will change her plans.

When you learn about Sophie's situation, it's easy to understand why she's cynical. But it never stopped her from being a kind person with a great attitude. I absolutely adored the hero ! Finn was honest, caring and protective. This quote describe him perfectly :
"He's the type of guy to keep a dachshund so she won't be traumatized by another move. He's the type of guy to get involved in the theater for his mom. He's the rock of his crazy family. He's a cop. He's a good guy."
Or here's an example of charming things he say :
"I really like it when you get all prickly on my mother's behalf. It's my fourth-favorite thing about you."

I didn't enjoy this book as much as the previous one because of the whole Sophie's father situation, but I still think this series is absolutely amazing and a keeper for sure! The Opposites Attract series is about passion. The romantic kind of course, but I'm talking about the one thing that make your life happier and drive you to surpass yourself. I love that Sophie used hers to help people.

Now I really hope to see again the other members of the Kelly's family we met. I don't care if it's in this series or a new one, but you can't introduce us to such a bunch of awesome characters and not give them an HEA, I'm just saying ;p

4 sweet & swoon worthy stars!!

Oh man! I just adored this book. It was like sunshine on a rainy day. This book is smart, flirty with just the right amount of sexy. From intriguing characters to explosive chemistry to one entertaining story-line, this book has it all!

Totally His follows the story of Sophie and Finn. For as long as Sophie can remember, she has always had to look out for herself. She doesn’t trust her heart with anyone and never wants to fall in love. All that is about to go out of the window when she meets Finn. He pushes her, tests her and works hard to break down all of her barriers. Sophie and Finn couldn’t be more opposite, but even wild horses could not keep Finn away. When life begins to throw hurdles at Finn and Sophie, will Finn be to prove that Sophie can lean on him no matter what? There is only one way to find out…

Totally His was such a fun read. I knew from the first encounter with Sophie and Finn that I was in for a treat and boy was I not disappointed. Sophie is feisty, smart and determined. She doesn’t let very many people get close to her and guards her heart. She believes in second, third and fourth chances, even when she knows the disappointing outcome. When Finn enters her life, he shows her just what she’s been missing out on. He opens her eyes to love and family. He shows her that she doesn’t have to do everything all on her own. He is sexy, possessive and has a big heart. He is just what Sophie needs in her life.

Totally His is sweet, sexy and 100% swoon worthy. It is everything that I want in a romance novel. It has just the right amount of drama, romance and twists. The characters are fun, entertaining and easy to connect with. The story is written with a lot of heart and will keep you begging for more. This is my first book by this author and I can promise that it won’t be my last. Totally His has left me with the biggest smile on my face and I’m looking forward to seeing what this author has in store for us next!

4.5 stars -- I received a free copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest and unbiased review/opinion.

This was a fabulous conclusion to what was a really witty, engaging, and fun series.  And no, you most certainly do not need to read the other books in the series to enjoy this story, but if you find yourself enjoying this one, trust me, the rest are just as engaging.  And what's great is that each hero and heroine are SO DIFFERENT, but equally lovable.

My heart broke for Sophie, and how she grew up, and what she saw for her future because of her conman father.  And while sometimes it felt like her growth took a bit longer than I'd like, I did like watching her find her happiness, find her big family, and truly find love.  It was very rewarding.  And I loved seeing how she interacted with big groups, whether it was watching her direct in the theatre, or direct the Kelly family during trivia.  She entertained me.

And Finn was pretty adorable.  I really loved having a hero who was a cop who was quite honestly very different from the usual cop heroes you read so often.  He was protective, he had a very strong sense of right and wrong, but he loved so strongly.  He wasn't seriously damaged or anything.  I'm not saying he didn't have flaws, but you got to see him try to work through those himself.  And I just absolutely adored seeing him pursue Sophie when he decided she was the one for him, and she was worth risking broken hearts for (not just his, but his family's).

And Sophie and Finn had fabulous chemistry...you really felt their draw to each other.  I loved the way they bantered and interacted.  They complimented each other well.

Finn's family was hilarious and adorable.  I loved what they brought to the story, and how Finn's Mom was an integral part of Sophie's growth.  I wasn't sure how I would feel about Frank, but I was satisfied how that played out.  And obviously the glimpses of Keira, Zach, Maya, and Alex were fantastic.  Actually, I wouldn't have minded more...

So yeah.  Fun and flirty, with some feels and a super satisfying ending.

I love Erin Nicholas romances. They have such a soothing feel to them, leaves me gushing and feeling good.
Finn and Sophie stole my heart from the beginning and I was totally hooked to their story since their first meeting...shud I say “fiery”. The whole gamut of characters, #TheKellys were a riot and the whole angle of firefighters and cops added to their appeal.
Finn and Sophie had amazing chemistry...it was hit, sexy and so passionate. I loved Finn’s protectiveness and Sophie’s independence. Can I say just how much I loved the fact that Sophie could kickbox!! Talk about badass heroines.
I wish there was some more of the cop angle with Finn but overall, the book was a great read. Loved it!!

We have a classic TSTL heroine here, who’s not only TSTL, but also is an ostrich burying her head in sand.
She breaks up with hero because he pointed out that her dad is a scumbag and a toxic person. Which she already knew, her father demands she take care of him as he took care of her when she was young. However he’s her father, so she’s happy with this “dysfunctional” relationship and was pissed at hero because he couldn’t accept the dysfunctional relationship and sit back and watch her get hurt.
This in process helped her father steal money from hero’s family.
And she broke up with hero because of him!
It was disgusting!

Erin Nicholas’s “Opposites Attract” series is an extraordinary blend of some remarkable characters, polar opposites, yet the power of attraction, lust and love, draws them to each other, extremely impressive storylines, and a with a surprising twist of sourness, the latest “Totally His” is simply an orgasmic read!

Beautiful actress in pink lingerie Sophie Birch meets the savior and protector Finn Kelly, bearer of handcuffs and dreams sexy and dirty, when her theatre catches fire; a fire that sparks a fiery spark of lust and attraction, dating and mating, and relationships and forever-after.

The highlight of this story is Sophie’s estranged relationship with her unreliable and unworthy father. A father that she really loves yet disappoints her entire life. A father who is selfish and would do anything for his own good, yet Sophie cannot make her heart let go of this complication. The dynamics of this relationship was very well portrayed and with Finn getting involved to smooth things was one of the best scenes of this love story.

How can you not fall in love with Finn, a guy who goes to great lengths to get to know Sophie intimately, understanding her fears and insecurities, benevolent of the relationship between his mother and Sophie, Finn would do anything to make Sophie “Totally His”.

And to be honest, reviews do not do justice to this stunning story as Sophie and Finn navigate the complexities of a relationship, with a large extended family and their interferences. Erin Nicholas created an amazing screenplay with Finn Kelly and Sophie Birch, well staged and choreographed.

Tnx to Mrs. Nicholas I've developed a new obsession with Irish men. Finn with this strong and beautiful personality had me hooked from page one. From the way he loved his mom to the way he did everything he could to make Sophie happy.

I love how the Kelly's embraced Sophie in to their mix and showed her what a real family looks like with taking care and loving each other no matter what.

This is one of my favourite series - hands down!💝

After growing up with a sketchy character for a father, Sophie Birch learned early on that it was best that she take her personal safety into her own hands, and not always trust the kindness of strangers. After watching her father swindle woman after woman, the kind words uttered from a gorgeous man always leave her a little leary... but she has never met a man quite like Finn Kelly. When disaster strikes her little theater and Finn offers his help, she can't help but become a little weak in the knees for the sexy officer... and maybe even start to feel like she can finally put her trust in the hands of another.

The moment Sophie Burch crashes into Finn Kelly's world he is completely taken with the beautiful actress, but it quickly becomes evident that she doesn't seem to feel quite the same way. With her little theater in great need of repair he decides to volunteer his help, with the hope that he maybe able to prove to her that she can trust him. And little by little his plan starts to work, but not without a little resistance here and there, then once she gives in a little the sparks start to fly and he starts to think it might finally get his girl. Everything seems to be going well for them... that is until Sophie's past comes back to haunt her!

Totally His is a romantic, charming, and pleasurable read that is sure to score a special place in the heart of every reader! From the moment I met this couple I knew that they were going to treat me to a fun little literary escape, they had the undeniable chemistry, the feisty sexually charged banter, and a lot of trouble brewing around them that kept things very interesting! This is my second visit to the series and I have to say I enjoyed this trip just as much as the first, the story line was captivating, and the characters were simply amazing! Highly recommend this one, it's sure to have your heart overflowing and your toes curling!!

Sophie is an actress and owns part of a theater. She is funny, sexy, and feisty. Her father is a con man who marries women to get their money and a place to stay. He used Sophie as a child to help him with the women, when they weren't living there, they was is their car or homeless shelters.
Finn is a big, hunking, Irish cop. He is the fix it in the family. His family is huge and always in someone's business. His mother is a good friend of Sophie's and when her theater catches fire, he goes to volunteer to help get it up and running again. What he didn't realize was Sophie wasn't a little gray haired woman but a sexy young woman.
Between the play they are putting on to raise money and Sophie's dad causing all kinds of trouble, Sophie realizes that she wants the big, noisy family. But will her father mess her chances up with Finn?
So very funny, sexy, and I loved it. I couldn't stop reading it. Be prepared for some smoking sex scenes.

Fun & Feisty! Erin Nicholas presents another Opposites Attract book with fun characters, feistiness, quick wit, and swoon-worthy sexiness. A bit different from her other books, but no less a wonderful story. Finn was a typical alpha cop, but with tons of sweetness mixed in. And Sophie had the feisty down pat! I loved the cops and firefighters on stage! And I definitely wanted to smack a certain character many, many times. This was a great series!

Finn is obviously a very protective man, “I came to talk to you. But I wasn’t pleased to find you in here alone with the door unlocked.” He pushed away from the column with a frown." Finn sometimes has to repeat himself to make sure things process in his brain, "Sophie watched him swallow hard. “You slept in my shirt.” His eyes went to the room behind her. “In my room.” I really liked this book, Finn was like the sweetest man.

What’s it About? Sophie is used to being alone and looking after herself so when her theater catches fire and she’s rescued by hunky cop Finn Kelly, she isn’t quite sure what to do except fight him every step of the way. After the fire things just keep popping up and soon Sophie has no choice but to accept help from Finn. As they get to know each other Sophie realizes Finn is nothing like the people she’s used to, he is willing to do whatever it takes to spend time with her but when Sophie’s troublemaking father comes to town Sophie starts to distance herself from Finn. But he’s not ready to let her go without a fight.

Overall reaction to the story? Totally His had such fun characters and a fun plot. I liked the setup and getting to know Finn’s family was fun. They’re loud, they’re stubborn, and they’re nosy as heck when it comes to someone they care about. It was relatively easy to get into the whole story. However, there was one big issue I had with how the conflict with her father was handled that just ruined the story for me and raised some questions about family relationships in romance. But I would definitely read another book by this author again simply because up until that point I was enjoying myself with these characters.

Describe the hero in five words: Caring. Fun. Charming. Stubborn. Dedicated.
Did you like him? Yes.
Why? Finn is a family man through and through. He comes from a lively group that has no problem speaking their minds. He loves his mom but he isn’t a mama’s boy, he has a great relationship with his siblings, and shockingly he doesn’t have any deep, dark secrets. He is simply put, a really nice guy. I loved that about him. A guy doesn’t have to be troubled, brooding, or dangerous in order to be sexy, sometimes the sexiest thing about a guy can be his willingness to help others and that is exactly what makes Finn so great. He has an abundance of humor that goes well with his easy going demeanor and can have a laugh at his own expense. He really was a charmer.

Describe the heroine in five words: Stubborn. Independent. Cautious. Giving. Kind.
Did you like her? Yes.
Why? Sophie was the troubled one with secrets in Totally His. Her life alongside her father taught her not to rely on anyone but herself. I felt bad for her because dang, her father was a piece of work. I understood why she behaved the way she did towards other people and I really wanted her to work through that past so that she could have a chance to be truly happy and secure in not only her relationship with Finn but in her friendships that she managed to start building. Sophie always had one foot out the door and these 50 foot walls up around her that set her apart from everyone but she was at heart a good person, which is probably why her father continually made a victim out of her.

Let’s talk about the romance: A reluctant romance on Sophie’s part but Finn was all in from the beginning which isn’t all that common in romance. Watching Finn work around Sophie’s misgivings made me fall for him myself but it also gave Sophie a chance to see that there were good people out there who didn’t always want to take something from her. Their romance was sweet but it was never dull because there was a healthy amount of physical chemistry between them that was just about the only thing Sophie didn’t have a problem with. By the end of Totally His, Sophie had screw up, made amends, and then almost screwed up again but Finn and his family were there to show her the support that she had never had before and that made the romance feel more solid. Sophie gained not only a great boyfriend but the family she never had.

How about that supporting cast? Okay here is where the red lights, whistles, and a big fat “Nope” happened. Finn’s family was great, they were loving, supportive, and everything Sophie didn’t have. However, it was her father, his actions and everyone else’s reaction to what he did and does that really ruined things for me AND had me questioning why this is considered excusable behavior.

Click It or Skip It? If you like charming romances Totally His is great but I had a huge issue with how the antagonist was handled. So I’ll leave it up to you to read the spoiler above and decide if that’s something that can be overlooked. I know I couldn’t overlook that.

Sophie Birch has learned from experience that she can only rely on herself. She had a heck of an upbringing by her father, someone who wreaks havoc in his wake, and she holds herself back from fully investing in life and love. But there’s just something about sexy, steady Finn Kelly. Something she doesn’t quite understand, but she sure wants to get to know.

And Finn. He’s the solid, reliable one in his crazy family. They’re large, loud and into everyone’s business. But he’s ridiculously attracted to Sophie on sight. Sure, the pink lingerie helps, but he sees the beautiful, smart, sexy woman underneath and wants to make her his.

But first they need to work through some issues—Sophie’s disaster of a father and his shenanigans for one and Sophie’s hesitancy to grow roots and a relationship for the other. Can Finn convince Sophie to take a chance on him and the love and life he offers and convince her she’s not alone anymore?

Totally His had me from the start. I could easily visualize the crazy meet-cute between Finn and Sophie and their relationship just got better from there. I loved watching their friendship and relationship blossom, and couldn’t help but root for the two of them to realize that they were perfect for each other. And don’t even get me started on how awesome their friends and Finn’s family were. I come from a large family where everyone knows everything. And their meddling was on point. And while I really didn’t like Sophie’s father, that was the point—he was completely unlikeable and a perfect villain for this sweet, sexy story. I’m really hoping we will get Colin’s story too! ~ Missy, 4 stars

Totally His by Erin Nicholas is one of those books you can't put down once you start. I didn't realize this was part of a series until I reached the end. The good news is you don't have to read the two previous books.

I've followed Erin Nicholas for years now and hadn't yet had the chance to read her work until now. What's wrong with me, right? I had no idea how much I was missing out on.

I loved Totally His. The characters are more than likable, their struggles are relatable, and the story felt real. The more I read about the Finn Kelly's family, the more I wished they were real. Who doesn't want a family like theirs? They sort of operate in the "one for all and all for one" kind of motto.

I don't usually care much for cops or firefighter romances, but I'll say this is the exception to the rule. I fell in love with every single one of them, though Finn (a cop) is my favorite.

I liked that Finn was just a cop, no fancy detective. I enjoyed the fact that he's possessive but not overbearing. I loved that though he has his doubts about Sophie, he owns his attraction toward her from the beginning and he doesn't waste time with what if's. He's decisive, and I just love that in a hero.

Then, there's Sophie. She's been through a lot thanks to her infamous dad, and she's put up with it. But I enjoyed watching her reach her tipping point and say enough is enough. I loved the fact that even though Finn wants to protect her, he isn't there to intervene when she stands up for herself and goes borderline psycho in front of her dad. That was the best scene. I rooted for her all throughout.

This is definitely one I will read again, I loved it that much!

I'm surprised to find out Totally His is the third book in The Opposites Attract series by Erin Nicholas because, how have I managed to miss the other books (so far)?

Sophie Birch has spent her entire life trying to get people to love her, so as an adult, she doesn't always keep up the façade. When a fire begins at the theatre she inherited from her namesake grandmother, she's desperate to get back into the burning building to retrieve something that means a lot to a person she's become close to. Only an arrogant police officer hauls her out...rescues her leaving a lasting impression on her.

When Finn Kelly sees a scantily clad woman in pink underwear running back into the burning theatre rather than to escape it, he rushes over to locate and evacuate her from danger. Only carrying the reluctant, half-naked woman stirs up far more emotions than merely doing his job to protect her from harm way.

Finn is an archetypal gruff cop but underneath that testosterone-fuelled exterior is a caring and compassionate man. He's met his match when he encounters Sophie Birch, who he recognises as a feisty woman and more than a handful-pun intended. Their attraction is instant, but it's external influences that affect their chances of even having a relationship. Yet, once everything is out in the open, their path to a happy ever after is inevitable.

I read this as a standalone and it works perfectly. The protagonists from the previous books are secondary characters in Totally His and their presence adds depth to the narrative rather leaving the reader feeling they are missing something. The author's writing kept my attention always even when scenes that made me feel uncomfortable. There's nothing wrong with that as her narrative is doing exactly as I expect from a writer...eliciting an emotional reaction from a reader.

Overall, an entertaining novel from a new to me author; one I'll be reading again soon because of her other books in this series.

ARC REVIEW

Totally His is the third book in Erin Nicholas' Opposites Attract series, and it is probably my favorite out of the three. Never mind that I am a reformed theatre junkie I just really liked everything about this book. And I'm hoping with Finn Kelly's huge family we get a spin off, hint hint nudge nudge wink wink.

Sophie was raised by a manipulative father, he would seduce woman and charm them into marriage and when the charm stopped working or he just got tired of them he took his Sophie and left and went on the look out for the next ex-Mrs. Birch. The times when Sophie didn't have a mother she would often live in the car. This made Sophie very jaded toward men, she also longed for a big family with open arms and unconditional love. That is the Kelly family, a big Irish bunch who argue and meddle and love unconditionally, Sophie already loves Angie Kelly, she met Angie at her playhouse and they fell into a very easy friendship. Angie also understood Sophie's need to stay out of her family life, after all with a father like her's she couldn't take the risk that he would show up and ruin it all for her.

Finn is a fixer, he likes to help out when he can, he also has a bit of a hero complex which is a good thing he became a cop. When his Mom's favorite playhouse catches on fire, one he was on the scene for and had to physically remove a woman from the theatre, he feels it's only right for him and his buddy's help out with the repairs. Finn is pleasantly surprised when he finds out that the woman he had to pull out the theatre is the Sophie his mother has been talking about. Even though he promised his mother he would go after Sophie he can't help but flirt with her and feel jealous when any of the other guys flirt with her. They decide an easy way for them to raise money to repair the playhouse is to put on a play with the firefighters and policemen. Lucky for them Angie just happens to have one ready, one based on how she fell in love with her husband and the troubles that arose when they did. Finn and Sophie are cast as the leads. The sexual chemistry between Finn and Sophie goes deeper than just that they feel comfortable around each other and Sophie shares more with him than she's ever shared with anyone else before.

Just when Sophie starts to feel comfortable around the Kelly family her father introduces himself to the family as well. Sophie tries to warn Angie and Finn not to let him in but they do and trying to convince Finn that her father can not be fixed is the one thing that just might tear them apart. Overall, it was a really good read, I loved the characters and especially Angie. It was an emotionally charged story and the chemistry between Finn and Sophie was so perfect.

I have been WAITING for this book! Finn is my current new book boyfriend because I totally fell in love with him in this story. He and Sophie are perfect for each other. I think this could be a stand alone book, but I would read the first two to just get the background on the other characters before moving on to Sophie.

I have been loving this Opposites Attract series because the female characters are wonderfully geeky and nerdy in their own ways. Sophie is a theatre geek and acting and dressing up is her thing. She knows a lot about the community theatre and it shows in the plot and dialogue.

I think Finn is her perfect match. One, it's hard to resist a sexy cop out to protect you and two, he is sort of protecting her from the criminal actions of her father. The character development of the family that Sophie has chosen for herself is sweet and endearing. I love Finn's extended family and the author made me want to be a part of it. You will get sucked into Sophie's journey of discovering that love does not have to hurt. She can find the perfect person to complement her personality. The story wraps up with a sweet and sexy HEA. I recommend this book to any contemporary romance reader. The perfect escape for fall.

Good gravy.

Every time I finish an Erin Nicholas story, I am wowed all over again, and Totally His is no exception. This latest (the third in the Opposites Attract series) brings us more of what Ms Nicholas writes best--a remarkable couple with incendiary chemistry, some very real frailties, more challenges to their happiness, the ability to use their words, and ultimately an incredibly satisfying resolution. Throw in warm and wonderful supporting characters, and I'm always going to want to move to whatever fictional universe Ms Nicholas has created. As always, Ms Nicholas's storytelling is well paced, and her characters are three-dimensional and nuanced. I cheer them on, I loathe some of them (okay, really, just one of them...), feel sorry for them, want to hang out with them... they all feel real!

Totally His features Sophie Birch and Finn Kelly. Sophie is an actress and co-owns a local theater with her father, a conniving conman who's left behind a string of ex-wives once he'd finished bilking them of a home for Sophie and whatever other material goodies they could provide him. Finn Kelly is a police officer, part of a huge, welcoming family, who is called on scene to the theater the night of a suspicious fire.

Sophie and Finn definitely recognize they have chemistry, and also recognize reasons they might not want to act on that. I'm sure you can imagine how well they're able to avoid each other ;) Ms Nicholas lets their story unfold beautifully, and along the way, reminds us of the deep joys and bittersweet sorrows of family and committing our hearts. And yes, love is solid and real and worth it. Totally!
