Jacole is supposed to leave in the morning to start training at Quantico. Instead she’s been kidnapped by asshole space pirates who are about to sell her and the other women they’ve captured as sex slaves to the highest bidder. Oh hell, no. Jacole vows they’ll soon realize they’ve caught the wrong damn human. She organizes a mutiny to take down the f*kers who’ve kidnapped them…but the plan is interrupted when someone blows a hole in the side of the ship.
A seven foot tall lethal warrior emerges from the rubble with a weapon in each clawed hand. Jacole is speechless before this display of manly glory. This Bounty Hunter is easily the handsomest man (alien) she’s ever seen. Her panties are instantly wet. He touches her, kisses her, throws her on his ship and claims her, and vows she’s the female he’s waited all his life to find. His Bride!
What the hell?
Well, he might be a lover like no other and an aggressive and driven male she could actually…admire, but Jacole doesn’t do forever. In order to earn her love, he has to earn her trust.
Michele Mills lives in California and leads a life of quiet, G rated desperation with her husband and two sons. In an attempt at a fulfilling, R rated inner life that does not include Disney movies and Nickelodeon; Michele reads and writes filthy romance and, well...filthy romance. And she wouldn’t have it any other way.
2.5 stars. Not really Sci-fi, not really romance or erotica. Didn't really get a sense of hero. Heroine was really accepting. (Shrug) Recommended as filler only
Note to self: not sure why this was on my to read shelf, but heroine has spread her legs for others to crawl between and can’t give hero the gift of claiming her innocence for himself. He’s a virgin but she has the memory of other men rutting away inside her. Hell to the no!
The h doesn't actually do anything. She's always ready to pounce with what I'm assuming is a half-assed plan, but the H always intervenes. Weird mating scene. There are no emotions, even the ever-present "mine" is just thrown in. Meddling mother and some continued plot from the last book that confused me. h was supposed to become FBI but we never see her fight or do anything remotely agent like.
Alien Bounty Hunters, man. I like these guys. Mostly because they're a little too much, but just enough all at the same time. What? It makes sense to me.
Honestly, I get a kick out of how everything goes wrong (or right, if you're Joyzal) when Jacole meets Joyzal. She ends up rescued and mated within a short frame of time and she has NO CLUE how the mating part happened. Until, you know, it's pretty much spelled out for her. Being a strong, independent earth woman, she kinda digs in her heels when things are revealed. All things considered, it makes sense. Bonding with someone for all time is something that shouldn't be done on the fly.
But here they are. Bonded.
Meanwhile, Joyzal has given up on finding his special someone and is shocked when everything falls into place. Unlike other females of his species, Jacole doesn't see his lighter colored skin as being inferior, she just sees the incredibly determined man who revs her engine.
Again, I like these aliens and their mate-claiming ways. They're straightforward and can be kind of clueless at times, but they get the job done. And that's what it's all about.
First let me state, I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review.
Excellent story. Jocale is human and has been kidnapped by alien pirates to be sold as a sex slave. Just as she's about to mutiny with the other captured women, bounty hunter Joyzal pops in to capture his bounty. During his saving of Jocale he finds that she's his bride/mate, so he grabs her and takes her with him. This was a Gr8 story. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up
Jacole is a bada@$ chica! Shed have to be to take on space pirates and then a big, bad, bounty hunter mate like Joyzal. I absolutely loved our female heroine. She was tough yet feminine, strong and intelligent. Even though her mating with Joyzal was everything a woman should want, she was smart in questioning what was happening and not taking anything for granted. Love this series!
Jacole, from Earth, is kidnapped by space pirates and intended to be sold as a sex slave to the highest bidder. She is one of many different species kept in cages aboard the pirate ship. She and the other women set to overtake the guards, when a would be hero bursts into the ship, and guns them all down! Joyzal, a bounty hunter coming for the pirate captain, is set on keeping his number one bounty hunter status and this pirate captain is sure to help! When leaving, he spots Jacole, and although he recognizes her as human, her dark skin color requires him to offer his assistance. When she reaches out to him, she unknowingly invited him to mating compatibility. When he accepts her touch, sparks fly, and instant desire is clouding their ability to think clear. She thinks he's a hot alien, whose heroism gets her going, he thinks she's now is mate, so takes her to his ship. When she wakes, she is chased, and then mated by him per his species mating ritual. When she finds out, she's wary. She doesn't have a good track record with men. They can't be trusted. He won't want her down the line. Joyzal needs to convince her what he says is real-his feelings are real, and she will want to stay with him.
I really liked this book! Geez! Joyzal is hot! He's all kinds of strapping male, and Jacole is majoring taken with him. It was kind of funny how the mating ritual was and I am sure if Jacole had any inkling, she would've objected. She'd been hurt by men, and didn't want to be vulnerable again. Joyzal is an older man-forty-and had given up ever finding his mate-his Bride. When he saw Jacole and she offered her touch, he was flabbergasted. I knew he was going to do his best to convince her he is not like the others, and means what he says. She finds she likes the attentiveness and the sex is holey hell off the charts! But that little voice in her head keeps talking.....
Joyzal's Prize is book two in the Alien Bounty Hunters series and I am hooked! This is the first book by Michele Mills I have read and I like her easy style of writing. Joyzal and Jacole's journey was enlightening. The read was fun, quick, and satisfying! Now I am going to read book one, Rayzor's One and see what I missed!!
4.5 Stars/4 Flames
This book was gifted to me by the Jeep Diva for an honest review. The review and ratings are solely my opinions.
I quite like the hero but I couldn't relate to his heroine. There's a scene at the end that really got me (spoiler alert) they have a baby girl and Jacole and Joyzal are both hunters, it's their first time leaving the baby for a mission and she seems to feel not a drop of reluctance to leave the baby. A kiss on the forehead and off they go. She just doesn't seem to be a very maternal woman and I wish there had been a way for the author to leave this couple out of the baby making aspect of this series. My boys are both adults now and I still feel antsy when I don't see them for more than a couple of days. Maybe I read the scene wrong or missed something and I know that probably sounded really judgy but those are my feelings and I own them.
***I decided to review an ARC of this book.*** (As part of The Virgin Warrior Bundle)
I read all 3 books so... the first one had a decent story line ... but the end of this book I felt like I read the same story 3x with just a few different things. It was almost like the first book was an outline or template for the next 2.
There is so much repetitiveness in this third book I found myself skimming.
Also I'm not sure how to feel about the importance placed on the character's skin colors. I think this book was just as much about racism and prejudism as it was a love story.
First off, great characters and continuation of the world building from the first book. I love that in this culture the darker the complexion, the more desired and royal you are. In SciFi stories you usually only get white girls getting action.... That Jacole was a hot, no nonsense Lau didn't hurt either. Great read!
A sci-fi romance that stresses faithfulness as well as love.
Jocale is a human female that knows men can't commit to forever or at least until she meets Joyzal. His species only mate with one person remaining pure until they meet their mate. Read to find out how Joyzal overcomes Jocale's beliefs.
Ok. So. This book, like the first in the series has the same issues (of course)…a hot sexy virgin alien who “She didn’t have to direct him, he just knew. Normally it took forever for a guy to get her off this way, but Rockstar had her on edge immediately.” Again… HOW!? How do these aliens who have never had a hard on and who have never seen a human know immediately how to get them off?
But I wanted to let you know that this book explains things a little more and so will I. The mating ritual for this species involves chasing their woman through the forest and catching them. Then the woman “fights the off”. So this is pretend forced sex… kinda… but after he catches her and she struggles he gets her to submit with oral. This is how book 1 went too but I didn’t realize at the time that this is how all the books were gonna go. And that is pretty hot. I mean… I read all virgin hero books so this kind of (I hate calling it rape play) is not a thing for virgins. So I have not come across it (in books anyway.. heh heh.)
More background stuff is explained and how they normally go about trying to find their mate is also discussed. World building you might call it.
Thumbs down to this cover. A big part of this story is how dark skinned this woman is and that he is like a light skinned black guy greying at the temples. I think they are doing dark girls a disservice with this cover. She is considered royalty because her skin is so dark and undiluted. That is not the cover I am looking at.
Virgin rating: Innocence of virgin hero: 5/5 Innocence in losing it: 1/5 Build up to losing it: 1/5 Hotness of losing it: 3/5 Busted touching himself: no POV of losing it: female
A little better on asking, not just grabbing and mating, but not much.
Jacole was to begin training as an FBI agent the next day, instead she woke aboard a slavers ship, in a cage with other kidnapped women of many species, all aliens, and none of them could speak English. A week later there is a disturbance, and a tall male humanoid in black armor shows up in the slave hold and kills the guards there. Jacole's cage for had been opened by the now dead guards, so she grabbed a weapon off the bodies and the key and starts opening up cages. The fourth females are soon out and looking for any slavery crew left to finish them off when they find the big warrior again, tying up the slaver captain, who has a big bounty on him. The bounty hunter sees the females and tells them he will contact the Dylan military to rescue them and return them home, then he sees Jacole, kneels to her , pledges his honor to her and tells her she is his mate. Then he knocks her out, fixes her wounds and she wakes up in a forest with him and he tells her to run. No asking or explanation that this is a mating tradition and that when he catches her the sex will be their wedding. They do finally work it out, but the way it's done still pisses me off. I may stop reading this series if she doesn't do better on the women having a choice and knowing what their choices are before the mating!
Jacole was supposed to leave home on Earth in the morning so she can start training at Quantico, but instead of that, she is kidnapped by some space pirates who are planning to sell her and the other women they have kidnapped as sex slaves to the highest bidder. Jacole is determined to stop that and starts to organise a mutiny to take the pirates down but that plan is rudely interrupted when someone blows a hole in the side of the spaceship they are on. A seven-foot-tall Bounty Hunter emerges from the rubble and is the most handsome male that Jacole has ever seen. After he touches her, he kisses her, puts her on his ship and then claims her as his bride (the female he has been waiting to find for his entire life). As far as Jacole is concerned while he might be the best lover and be the kind of person she can admire, in order for her to do forever with him he has to earn her trust first.
This was a dramatic story that showed how the mating of the warriors relies on the female understanding their racial attitudes and rules - without that knowledge then all it really meant was that it was just words. Well written and easy to read and understand. Contains explicit sexual content.
>Book Review – Joyzal’s Prize >I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 2nd in the Alien Bounty Hunter series and ends in an HEA. Joyzal is a bounty hunter and BFF to Rayzon. They have a fierce bounty hunter competition between them. These aliens feel that the darker one’s skin is, the more important they are. When Joyzal captures his bounty and frees the women enslaved on the ship, he is touched by a human with very dark skin, Jacole. >Their touch starts the mating bond. Joyzal has a secret regarding his BFF and his step mother that really seems to tie the series together so far. This book is quite humorous as the step mom keeps calling both Joyzal and Jacole at the absolute worst times. Jacole is similar to Joyzal in her quest to always be #1. > This book is appropriate for adult audiences. I am giving this book 5 stars. I love the epilogue in this story, showing life after the fierce mating.
I'm only reading the series because I'm out of interesting kindle unlimited books to read. The stories are not too bad. But major trigger warning is needed. The makes hormones basically roofies himself and his mate right after they touch the first time. He's taught about this quirk so is somewhat prepared but she has no idea. And he's so out of it he can't explain. So in my opinion it's rape. Hence the trigger warning in my opinion. And I hate virgin stories. Also the books are basically carbon copies. They meet, they touch, he tranqs her, has a chase in a forrest, loooong detailed rough sex scene, immediate pregnancy, explanation, govt must give okay because of some illegality, HEA. Some sentences are even possibly copy an pasted. There was definitely potential. But needs more variety and the mate claiming should have been done better to remove the rape feel.
This alien bounty hunter was so much more than he appeared to be. He found his mate and he don't feel he deserves her. She is of royal coloring. She is so much more than he could dream of. That was until she touched him. She touched him.
Jacole was not suppose to be in space. She was not suppose to be kidnapped. She was not suppose to be caged. She was not suppose to meet the man that would change her world and make everything she didn't know she wanted come true.
This was keeping in tradition with the Alien Bounty Hunters but it gave more. Jacole was strong, fierce, and savvy. She was no whimpering little miss. This installment in the series gave much more.
I read this book as part of The Virgin Warrior Bundle by Michele Mills is a set of the first three books in the Alien Bounty Hunter Series, which are as follows: Rayzor’s One, Joyzal’s Prize, and Kayzon’s Wish. Each story in this set is a stand alone story that focuses on one Xylen Alien Bounty Hunter male who finds his human female mate and then claims her. Each one of these stories is a very exciting, adventure filled, sexy read from the first chapter to the last. I loved reading about the different ways each couple meet and how there relationship progresses. This is a truly a wonderful set of alien love stories that are very entertaining to read. Joyzal’s Prize is a hot alien love story.
I very much enjoyed the story about Joyzal and Jacole. My heart ached for him and his inability to find a mate simply because of his skin tone. He had literally given up and then boom! He meets Jacole and he has hope again...for a little while. I understood Jacole's reservations with mating Joyzal. A hurtful past made her skittish but I don't know...I feel like Jacole caused a lot of issues that didn't need to be. Especially after being told many times how mating was for life and he only wanted her. I did read in the reviews how some readers felt that the mating scene read like rape but I dont feel that way. Yes, he should have explained what he was doing but I didn't get any rape vibes. More like a game of seduction. Anyhow, it enjoyed the book.
Jacole is kidnapped by slave traders, sold, and imprisoned. They are rescued when an Bounty Hunter walks in blasting his guns, killing the slavers. Joyzal can't believe it when he sees a woman of royal pigment - a human - and she offers him her hand. All it takes is a touch..
I LOVED it!!! The story is well written, fast paced, compelling and entertaining to read. The characters are likeable, relatable, and have depth and character development. Told from dual POVs reveals intimately their thoughts, feelings, and emotions as they explore their relationship and defeat the slavers. There's an epilogue and a HEA 💓
I enjoyed this one so much better. Mostly because he wasn't responsible for her losing her life on Earth. This couple really was compatible. She has been cheated or abandoned by every guy in her life so she is scared to believe in this very new relationship. Both were likable characters, which is surprising because in the first book Joyzal was annoying. In this book we find out why he is the way he is, and also see a really emotional tie in with the hero in the first book. This had a very sweet HEA that seemed like they both got the life they deserved.
I was hooked when it began with an alien kidnapping, after that it just kept getting better. I wanted to see more of the girls kicking butt on the captors, but the way the author wrote it was pretty cool too. I loved the characters and their singular focus and how they work to get past their own self worth issues. It was a fun book, lots of action, a nice ending.
This was action pack...I am a sucker for a good knock down drag out ...killing the slavers and save the women is almost as good to me as my chocolate... Lol.....loved Jacole was a badass, then you team her up with Joyzal and you could make a short movie...glad to see Rayzor loved him too.....well I guess I will move on to the next book..let's see if Rayzor brother is as good as these two warriors😀😘
I really liked how this one played out. From waking up in a cage in an alien slavery ship, to being rescued, was not something you get over fast. Then being mesmerized by a 7 ft. Hot guy, and suddenly having to run from him so he can catch her and claim her as his bride, according to his species laws. Lots of exciting things happen in this book. The HEA ending was fantastic! Trish. A.
The second book in The Alien Bounty Hunters series and it is just as good 👍 as the first book. This novel is full of surprises, action, romance, and adventure. Michele Mills has woven a well written and balanced story. Joyzal and Jacole do get their HEA with a great great treat along the way. Loved it!
