Lily Donahue has her hands full, between her fun, busy job as an event planner for River’s End Ranch, moonlighting in a local country music band and writing songs. Things get even trickier when she meets the reserved rancher who’s hired her to coordinate his parents’ 40th wedding anniversary celebration.
Cody Jamison’s done with relationships and happily enjoying his quiet life—until he meets his noisy temporary neighbor and her band mates. Lily is not his type at all, and the feeling is mutual—she thinks he’s downright stuffy, but sparks fly no matter how much they try to resist. When she has a chance to follow her true passion, all the way to Nashville…it just confirms his initial belief that they are not right for each other, at all. Or are they?
Pamela M. Kelley is a USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of women's fiction, family sagas, and suspense. Readers often describe her books as feel-good reads with people you'd want as friends.
She lives in a historic seaside town near Cape Cod and just south of Boston. She has always been an avid reader of women's fiction, romance, mysteries, thrillers and cook books. There's also a good chance you might get hungry when you read her books as she is a foodie, and occasionally shares a recipe or two. :)
We’ve met Lily several times in previous stories. She’s an excellent events planner at the River’s End Ranch, songwriter and popular singer with her small band. This time she gets to shine in the spotlight. Cody is a friend of Wade’s that we haven’t met yet, and he and his brother Ben add a few new faces to this amazing series.
It’s a good thing we don’t always have to be stuck with the first impression of someone for Cody and Lily’s first meeting did not exactly go well. Yet the sparks were there, even if they were sparks of annoyance at first. Slowly Cody and Lily get to make second impressions that go far better for them. Cody’s recently gotten out of a long term relationship and isn’t looking for romance. Lily has been concentrating on her job at the resort and her songwriting. As time and circumstances put these two together more often some romantic feeling begin to develop – right up until Lily leaves for her yearly Nashville vacation with friends. Cody hears Nashville and thinks that Lily may be heading for the bright lights of the country music scene and hesitates… mistake, huge.
I enjoyed Lily and Cody’s romance. I want to call it a slow burner as they each seem hesitant to really jump into the attraction that they have. But it all works in the end. Again, glimpses of future pairings, visits with old friends and that special magic that keeps me coming back to this series book after book. If you love Romance then Cute Cowboy and all of the stories in the River’s End Ranch series should be on your radar. Interesting situations, likable couple and secondary characters who will soon become old friends.
I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
I have been reading this series 3-4 books at a time. Somehow I skipped a few and this was one of them. It was interesting to see a future romance (that I have already read) begin. These authors do a fine job of continuity and foreshadowing.
Lily has been a secondary character in previous novels both in her work at the Weston ranch and as a singer. Cody is new but a good friend of Wade Weston.
If you are a fan of Jaclyn, she's here again. Read and enjoy!
One of my favorites of the River's End Ranch series.
I loved the story by the end of chapter one. The characters are written so well that they seem like friends by the end of the book. Great storyline. When I finished then book, I realized Pamela M. Kelley was the author, she is one of my favorite writers. I have read Ms Kelly's Nashville Dreams which is tied into this book. Nashville Dreams is a five star book too.
Lily loves to write songs, and sings with her brother and their friend. But going to Nashville to live isn't what she wants. She loves being the event planner at River's End. Cody is her new temporary neighbor and get off the the wring foot the first time they met. But there is a connection.
Two people meet who appear to have nothing common. He is a rancher and she works for River's End as a party and activities coordinator. In her spare time she writes country songs and plays with a local band one or two times a week. Somehow they still manage to find common ground and eventually fall in love
It amazes me how this wonderful group can individually write the books in this series. All of them have been awesome, have stayed true to the surroundings and fit perfectly. Thanks, ladies.
Nice, clean, easy read. Things happen quickly, no surprises. Ends happily. Need follow-up for Cody and Lily. One time when Lily meets record guy, Peter, her name became Lucy. Need to rethink the titles of these books. Do not really fit.
This was a fun story that is a really quick read. The characters were great but I thought the relationship was just too quick and could have been drawn out more. Sweet and clean.
It's finally Lily's turn at love. She deserved a great cowboy in her life. Lily is a fun living, hard working woman. Cody sure didn't make a good first impression but he straightened up quickly.
I love this series so much. I enjoy the characters falling in love and having babies. I also enjoy the animals too. I was so happy to see Laura and Tina in the story too. 🎁🎁
Great story. A sweet love between Cody and Lily. If you like cowboys and their ladies, then this one if for you. It is the first one of the series I have read and now, I need to read the others.
I thought I was reading A Book By Kirsten Osbourne .I did not read Laura's Story because I hate it when it just drops off and 2 or 4 Months down the road the book still has not been FInished Yet Shirley Ketcham
Great story! Full of love, laughter, romance, and learning what you really want out of life. Cody and Lily are great characters and I loved their story.
How to people meet for the first time when Lily and her band is practicing their music. Cody and Ben are having their parents a surprise anniversary party.
Another wonderful visit to River's End Ranch. I have loved every installment in the series so far and I hope and pray it goes on for many more books! I so wish RER was real!
This book is about Lily, the singer/songwriter and events coordinator at the ranch, and Cody, one of Wade's old friends. This was one of those easy to read, entertaining books. Not much drama, most of it hinted at, a few complications, but nothing hard to overcome, a simple love between two people that had a less than good start. I like this kind of books more, less crazy character, more realistic, down to earth situations.
