A woman has a new job offer at just the time her love is taken hostage because he is the last of a blood line.

It was okay, but really didn't do a lot for me.

Loved this one just as much if not more so than the first book. Amazing twists and turns and the author takes you places that you never imagined possible, complete and utter shift (just as the title suggests). Really would recommend this series to anyone, definitely not just for the teenagers. Loved it, bring on the next one!!

In “Paradigm Shift” the second book in the Crystal Bloodline series which I won through Goodreads Giveaways Austin continues to lose his moral and ethical values as Conik Penster Dewe extracts his Crystal Bloodline, and Rachel Coast begins to work with Gerald Palmer and his colleagues honing her new powers while her understanding of mankind’s history and future is turned upside down. Racing against time to save Austin, Rachel quickly learns that there is more at stake than she first thought as the fate of humanity depends on what she and her allies do next.

In this thrilling sequel, Rachel not only learns some astounding facts about the past and future of mankind and the Crystal Bloodline, and is gifted with remarkable powers, but she experiences a paradigm shift that changes her way of doing and thinking about something. The action intensifies and suspense heightens when Austin, Underling and Conik return to London for the final ritual and Rachel is abducted before Gerald Palmer’s plan can be hatched. A roller coaster ride with surprising twists and turns, you can’t put the book down until the shocking cliff-hanger at the end.

Rachel Coast’s personality in this story develops becoming strong, fierce and decisive as she leaves behind any uncertainty and fear about failing her task. Loving, loyal and compassionate Austin Jacobs has become greedy and angry with the loss of his Crystal Bloodline. He’s shed any moral values becoming cruel, mean and depraved, turning against even his father. Gerald Plume the “universal educator” is kind, patient and calm while hot-tempered Conik Penster Dewe masks his sinister and despicable personality behind a charming façade. Sarah Barry Williams has created characters that not only infuse the story with excitement, intensity and high-energy but aren’t soon forgotten.

“Paradigm Shift” the well-written, enthralling addition to the Crystal Bloodline series continues to get high marks for capturing the imagination of its fans. With Rachel and Austin’s lives still in peril I'm already looking forward to the next thrilling installment.
