The steamy new series by the bestselling author of Escape to New Zealand . . . Now complete in one volume! I never asked Hemi Te Mana to rescue me. It was true that I had a lousy job. Not to mention a lousy apartment and too much responsibility, although it was a responsibility I wouldn’t have given up for the world. That still didn’t mean I needed rescuing, if that was what you’d call the situation I ended up in.
And anyway, I knew that a multimillionaire Maori CEO with too many muscles, a tribal tattoo, and a take-no-prisoners attitude was way, way out of my league.
So, no, I didn’t ask him to, but he rescued me anyway. Because Hemi was fierce. But you know what I found out? So was I.
Note: This started as the “book within a book” that Faith is writing in Just in Time: Escape to New Zealand. And, yes, it has more steam than the "Escape" books. Because Faith had a lot of sexual frustration to work through. If you don't like strong, determined alpha men and very spicy (but fully consensual) sex, DON'T buy this book. Maybe head for New Zealand instead.
Rosalind James writes contemporary romance and romantic suspense published both by Montlake Romance and independently. Her stories are set in New Zealand, Idaho, California, New York . . . really, anyplace that seems cool. (Research trips, especially those involving lots of rugby, are a bonus.) Her books are available in ebook, paperback, and audio formats. Rosalind is a former marketing executive who spent several years in Australia and New Zealand, where she fell in love with the people, the landscape, and the culture of both countries. She attributes her rapid success to the fact that "Lots of people would like to escape to New Zealand! I know I did!"
Rounded up because I liked the first and last instalments of the series more than the second one. This is what I like to call my personal "guilty pleasure" read. The plot isn't very realistic and in real life, some serious HR workshops would need to be held. But this is fiction and reading it was fun (if at time, a little too dramatic for how "just vibes" this series was meant to be) and that was all I wanted when reading it.
Got the box set, so I could read all three. Glad I did, I had previously read the first book, so I knew I would enjoy that. The next two books, are wonderful, they make you want to go on holiday. They make you laugh, cry, get mad and smile a lot. Definitely recommending
Hemi is a famous Maori clothing designer. He meets Hope at a photography shoot, where she works as an assistant. He hires her to work in his company, and proceeds to seduce her. But she has the guts to refuse him. So begins the tug of war between them. Absolutely loved this set of stories about these lovable characters !!!
Ms. James is an amazing author. Her Escape to New Zealand and this series are so well-written. Character development is so deep, you know all the players intimately, and the stories flow together so smoothly. Simply brilliant, start to finish. The kind of books you don't want to end.
I love this story. At the same I am reading this book my dear friend was in New Zealand on her honeymoon. I love Hope strength and Hemi loving and welcoming spirit
Read this series and all of Rosalind James books, for that matter. You won’t be disappointed. Warning: They are hard to put down. Be prepared to lose sleep.
