Guy is really good at one thing: drawing comics. He draws them about everything that is happening at his elementary school and everyone loves them. He is quiet famous, but now that his bonkers science teacher is audition for a local television show about science and has invited students from her class, he could become a SUPER star! Several problems arise. One is that his best bud gets angry, because she wants to be the star. Another is he is paired with the biggest brain in the class for his project, and she hates him. Then there is the class bully, who hates school but loves his science teacher and wants to make sure her television debut is a major flop so she doesn't leave the classroom. Told through text and comic strips, A Silly Science Experiment is a cute, quick read and will appeal to kids who enjoy Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Big Nate, and other comic/text novels. At the very end of the book, Timothy Roland gives great tips about creating your own comic strips.
I really enjoyed this book because the science experiments were interesting. I think other kids would like to read this since they will learn how to do different experiments.
