Carmen Winters thought her life was getting better. Until she came home to find her new husband hanging from a chandelier.
Six months pregnant and devastated, Carmen is forced to pick up the pieces of her shattered life. Before she can even begin to grieve, she finds herself being inappropriately pursued by Brad West, a sophisticated Manhattan lawyer and her late husband's best friend. But between caring for her elderly father and her estranged sister Helen, Carmen is not ready to open her heart to anyone new.
As she grows obsessed with understanding the madness that took her husband, Carmen finds her own mind unraveling dangerously to the brink of insanity. It is only when she meets a sweet and sensitive stranger named Owen that she finds herself able to smile again.
Is it really true that the best beginnings can come from the worst endings? Or does Carmen have deeper to fall before she can learn who she really is?
This is book one of a four-part series. End of Eternity is a spinoff from the Clarity books.

“You were his responsibility... but she was his passion."
1st POV. Mediocre dark. Suicide. Pregnancy. Emotional writing. A bit paranormal or head trip. Lots quote worthy phrase. Con artist, mind fuck. Tragedies.
Something in the bookcover just rubbed me wrong. The eye expression is perfect, like bearing a really hurting heart but instead to choose keep going. Nothing wrong with that, but the eyes make-up! If u gave only a quick look, u would find that the eyes unbalanced. Then if u trully scrutinizing it, u would realize that the lower eye line have a different length of liner. Left side is up to half of the eyes and right side is only up to one third of it. This thing made me keep looking at the bookcover at least two minutes everytime i stumbled upon it. Quite intriguing.
I love the inner cover, the sketch is awesome. I prefer this one to the actual cover.
What a great chapter one! If the book would be written exactly like this, i know i am going to give this 5+++ stars in rating. This is the type of writing style i love so much. Emotionally descriptive writing style, in 1st POV. Quite similar to my own writing style. Where u would pour ur emotion into those beautiful words making the carefully built paragraph. Anyone who read it would immense in the deep emotion and in awe with how could a hurt and despair feeling write in such a beautiful passage
Carmen, 6 mths pregnant, got home after shopping with her father just to find her emotionally unstable husband hung himself in their mansion chandellier. Said husband had a sick fetish towards her little sister, which she found out later after they married. They got married in their 20s. Then the truth about her husband past revealed after the death.
I cant picture out if Carmen is delusional or she really speaks with her late husband spirit. But anyway, i really enjoyed this italic conversation slipped here and there during the actual scenes. And the men in this book seem so interesting, the way author described them made them more alluring. Brad, Detective Peterson, Owen, Liam and even Grayson. Love Carmen, she got an attitude. Great suspense/mystery, luring me to read in one-sitting.

I really liked the clarity books so I thought I would really like this spin off series. Turns out I really don't like Carmen. I tried to like her but she doesn't have the same sort of underlying spunk that Helen did.
Carmen is going through a lot in this book with the death of Grayson and Helen's accident. She also has to deal with her father and Grayson's friend Brad, who seems as sleazy as Grayson. There is also a burgeoning relationship with Owen which is weird considering his former devotion to his girlfriend. Maybe devotion is the wrong word, Owen has always been a flirt and a pervert but I always liked him. I don't like his way with Carmen as much.
I am sorry I wish I could write a better review explaining my feelings better but I just didn't like Carmen and have no real good reason except that she seems like sort of a whiny, helpless, caricature.
I'm not the type to not finish a series. I read this book because it's basically a continuation of her Clarity books to an extent. Also, I really love Owen. That being said, Loretta has Lost me. I don't think I'll ever read another one of her books. This books wasn't horrible or anything, but it just doesn't quite cut it for me and I can't see spending $3.99 per book for 3 more books. Maybe if they were free, in that case I probably would.
Couldn't relate with this book. The storyline was a bit disturbing. Just weird.. The worst part was the heroin was pregnant. A women who married a mentally ill person who didn't loved her but only married her to get close to her blind sister whom he loved. Then he killed himself. Flipped the pages after I got tired of her talking to her dead husband. Don't waste your time.
This was a weird book. I really got into it in the beginning but then my interest fizzled towards the end. Half way through the book I almost forgot that her husband had just died as it seemed like no-one cared that much about it. I don't know what to think about her sister. I'm not sure whether to continue with the series or not.

I'm sorry I wasted my time reading this book when I could have spent it reading a book with some substance and better, more realistic characters and plot line. Not for me.
Holy wowzers. Loretta Lost just doesn't let up. "End of Eternity", the spin-off to the "Clarity" series is just as breath-takingly good. It's the type of story that will make you laugh as it is laced with dark humour and sarcasm. It will make you gasp for air like a fish out of water was it is full of heart-breaking situations and twists and turns that will make you dizzy. It will make you swoon because of the awesomeness of the characters. It will make you ache, cry, burn and fall in love. It'll make you do all the things that only a perfect book can.
It's Carmen's story - showing us her life after her forever with her husband ended faster than all the "Thank You" cards could be written. It's the story of a woman whose life unravels completely and who still manages to stay strong. It was easy to dismiss Carmen as a bubblehead with a few lost marbles, when we were introduced to her as Helen's sister in the "Clarity" series. She seemed shallow, vain and a fry short of a happy meal. Her decisions and choices were definitely bordering on insane - or at least it seemed that way to the unknowing onlooker. But now learning more about Carmen, though I still don't agree with most of her decisions, I can see where she is coming from.
She's not as vapid as it seemed. Instead, she's a young woman who just doesn't want to be alone anymore. She wants love at any price, always feeling second best to her sister Helen. All her life, she felt like she has to fit a mold and to pretend, except with her husband Grayson. For the first time she could allow herself to be who she is. With feeling such overwhelming acceptance, she was willing to accept the unacceptable about him. She's loyal to the ones she loves - often giving more than she has to give. Underneath that ditzy outside is a strong woman that just needs to trust in herself and accept her own worth. Despite her world crumbling to pieces, she remains relatively sane - well, mostly. She still has that certain edge and sarcasm that give away that she is a fighter, even if she doesn't recognize it yet. And she even finds ways to smile - although that is solely due to Owen.
Owen, whom we met as Liam's best friend and who is absolutely heart-wrenchingly awesome, takes it upon himself to look after the people that in turn are looking after Helen. But he quickly learns that Carmen needs his attention the most, as no one seems to give her the care she needs and deserves after losing her husband. Owen is a sweet and charming guy with a tongue-in-cheek humour, so it's easy for him to get through to Carmen and make her feel at ease. He seems to be the only one that really truly cares about her and her well-being. At the same time, it isn't just her that benefits from his attention. He feels a closeness to her, a bond he can't easily explain. A bond, that makes him care about her more than he should. It seems that with her, he can be more himself than with anyone else. He doesn't have to be the funny and happy guy. I already had a crush on Owen in the "Clarity" books, but damn, he know won over my heart completely. It seems I'm no the only one, even if Carmen might not be aware of her feelings just yet.
The story is extremely intense, full of emotion and heart-ache. There isn't just black and white. Instead, Carmen's life past her husband's death is a constant grey zone, not only challenging her coping mechanism but also the reader's understanding. There is layer upon layer of various emotions, each of them stronger and more confusing than the former. I loved this intensity.
An additional plus was getting a glimpse into Helen's and Liam's future after the ending of "Clarity 3".
"End of Eternity" is an amazing story - written with depth, passion and poetry.
"I would almost rather spend time alone with the voices in my head than with any men made from flesh and blood."
I was extremely sad when I finished Clarity by Loretta Lost. I absolutely loved that series and was excited to learn that End of Eternity is another series that features the same characters from Clarity. The only difference is, is that End of Eternity is Carmen's story, while Clarity is Helen's.
This books picks up after the hanging in Clarity book 3. Carmen is all shook up at the sight of her dead husband. A lawyer claiming to be her husbands bestfriend, arrives and tries to be there for Carmen. Brad is really creepy and extremely determined to take care of Carmen. Meeting Brad will forever ruin a part of Carmen. Why is brad so similar to Grayson? Were these two really bestfriends? Is Brad falling for Carmen? Carmen has her eye on Owen, who is actually in a very committed relationship. Will she run to Brad because she can't have Owen? Brad is a very bad man.
"You're the most beautiful woman I've ever seen. And trust me, I've seen a lot of beautiful women; sometimes I just sit and watch The Playboy Channel all day."
I know I have probably mentioned this before, but I am absolutely amazed at how easy these stories all flow together. Between Helen and Carmen, there is so much going on, and somehow Loretta makes everything come together and make sense in the end. Carmen and Helen have both been through so much. I found myself wondering when they would catch a break and just be able to be happy. The End of Eternity series is a very intense and suspenseful series. Book one was heart breaking, and allowed you to see just how crazy some people can be. Brad and Grayson both have their problems, similar or not. These problems have a source and were created somewhere, somehow and that's when these books really start to get good. Loretta has given us so much history and background information on these characters that it is so very easy to love them. Her characters are my friends and her books play in mind like soap operas! So full of excitement, drama, love, heartbreak, betrayal, and probably almost anything you can think of.
I am very excited to dive into another series by the lovely Loretta Lost!
One woman left alone on the edge having to care for everyone but herself.

I’ve been pregnant, it’s not easy, and I had the opportunity to be with the father (and still am). I can only imagine Carmen having to deal with her pregnancy alone (in Canada, the health care system is quite different than in the U.S.), plus her father and her sister. And the ultimate bomb is finding her husband hung from the chandelier. I can still feel my heart beating and the blood rushing to my head simply from the first chapter, the goose bumps as I kept reading to her downward spiral to madness and ultimate ‘picking up’ by her late husband’s best friend. Loretta Lost has managed to make me feel what few authors (Yasmine Galenorn, Diana Gabaldon, Johanna Lindsey) with certain novels in their series have done, which was relieve emotions tightly locked under lock and key. It’s scary, sad, maddening and especially, suspenseful since the future is always unknown, even tomorrow.

I am a HUGE fan of Loretta Lost, so I was really excited to read this one! First ... I have to tell you all that while this *can* be a stand alone novel, I would recommend you read *all* the Clarity novels first, since this is a continuation of those books. A well-needed continuation !!!
Carmen's husband has committed suicide, and she is very pregnant. Afterwards she starts finding things out about her husband and she realizes that she never really knew him and her world is turned upside down. With her sister in the hospital and her dead husbands voice in her head, Carmen struggles to hold onto to her fragile sanity while finding out that her husband has done the unforgivable.
Unless you've had many tragedies close together you can't judge how someone acts or behaves. I feel for Carmen because I lost my parents very close to each other.... I actually did have my mother's voice in my head for months after she passed..... and that feeling of sanity slipping while grieving .... yes. Loretta Lost totally captured the feeling. You would be surprised the things you will do and say when you are in that position.
This left me on the edge of my seat.... what will happen with Winter/Helen? What will Carmen find in Detroit? Will Carmen ever be able to be with Owen (who we all think she should be with, come on now! ) .
Arg I did it again, when will I learn? In case your confused, I'm talking about how Loretta Lost wrote another great book, with a cliffhanger ending and I don't have the money to get the next book. That ending though... Just knowing that it was a Loretta Lost book I requested to review it without even checking out the description, I knew it would be a great one. What I didn't realize was that it was already free on Amazon, so those of you who are reading it, get it before its gone. Secondly, this was the perspective of Helen's older sister Carmen. I was pleasantly surprise to get her POV and seeing what happened after what occurred through Helen's book Clarity Book 3 (In case you were wondering)
I have to say, if you haven't checked out this book or any of the Clarity books you are really missing out. You should have this book already if not bump it to the top of your tbr list.
As you can see I really loved this book and I really can't get over that cliffhanger. I loved getting to know Carmen's POV and seeing what happens after the tragedy. I mean Carmen just can't catch a break. I have to say that I really love Owens character he really was amazing and supportive to Carmen even if he didn't know her. Sucks that he has a girlfriend or else they would've made a great pair. Not sure what else to say this book was amazingly written I was able to zoom through the book is one setting with this book keeping me hook. Loved it!
Walking in on your husband’s lifeless, post suicide body swaying in the breeze of the open door is bad enough, but pregnant Carmen now has to deal with both the funeral and her sister’s car accident on the same day - as well as take care of her father while he deals with her sister’s crash as well. Can she navigate the stress as well as the obvious attempts of the men in her life to soothe a grieving widow?
I was intrigued by the idea of an inner monologue for someone experiencing life that included suicide, pregnancy and potential fatal car crash of someone she loved, but quickly found myself disenchanted with Carmen’s character. I honestly thought she was well written and well developed, just not someone I could relate to, personally. While I could not predict how I would react in the same circumstance, I just had a hard time processing the obvious lust and inappropriate relations with what seemed like any man who wasn’t related to her. Still, it was a very involving story and I found myself hoping for the best for the character and her baby, even if I knew we could never be BFFs in real life.
So Bizarre - It must be true I finished the psychological thriller End of Eternity: Book One by Loretta Lost last week. This book with its impeccable proofreading, and editing was filled with uncertainty, fear, and a vast array of complicated emotions. I must admit that my first impression of this literary house of mirrors was completely wrong. The cover made me think, "Oh, another hot romantic, knight in shining armor, girl book." Wow, once I started reading this twisting, turning, complexly woven story I was all in. I enjoyed the characters that the author created, especially Carmen. Smart, blunt, gritty, and confident her character was a blast. Every time I thought I knew what was going to happen, Boom! A complete 180-degree miss. This intelligent author kept me hostage and entertained with her flowing direct writing style. I felt a little shocked and amused with her "Oliver Stonish" story. Very fun read, although according to Carmen, I am an imperfect, yet lovable piece of man shit. The cover completely tricked me as it did not convey even a hint of what was within its pages - a great, funny, morbid, weird, and fun story.
The End Of Eternity is part of a serious of books written by Loretta Lost. I was automatically drawn in to Carmen's life. I wanted to know all the details of the mystery surrounding her husbands death. The details in the writing are fantastic and allow you to visualize what's happening. I feel that Carmen is losing her sanity. I understand her distress with all she has lost. That comes across really well in the writing. Her distress leads her to do some really dumb things because she is not thinking clearly. I do think the author could have perhaps gentled some of the things that Carmen did to make it an easier read. I do however see the authors appeal of shocking the reader. I do think it really allows us to see how deeply and truly lost Carmen really is...
Other random thoughts: I can't stand Brad. He is using her and manipulating her. I love Owen. I hope to see a relationship in the future with her. I hope that Carmen finds happiness. I can't wait to read the rest of this series.
End of Eternity starts where the Clarity series ends. Clarity is about Helen and Eternity is about her sister Carmen.
Carmen is 6 months pregnant when she comes home to find Grayson, her husband hanging from the chandelier. While trying to deal with his death she keeps hearing Grayson in her head saying awful things to her. Why should he be any different in death.
Loretta has done it again by writing a story that grips you from the first page, satisfies you throughout, and leaves you wanting more at the end. In the Clarity series I didn't much care for Carmen finding her shallow and selfish, but reading End of Eternity I understand her better and even like her. I am excited that Liam and Owen are back and I can't wait for Book 2.
Simply put you just can't go wrong with a book by Loretta Lost.
I loved this book couldn't put it down. After coming home from shopping with her father Carmen who is pregnant finds her husband hanging on the chandelier from an apperent suicide. Soon after her father gets a call that her sister Helen was in a car accident and is at a hospital. When they arrive to the hospital Carmen hears her dead husbands voice in her head telling her that the only way to get ride of him for good is for her to give him her sister Helen. Carmens husbands best friend Brad tells her that he wants to marry her and take care of her, but he also wants her to give up her unborn baby to someone to care of because he doesn't want to raise her/him. When Carmen is back home by herself she starts getting stomach pains and starts bleeding she calls her father,Brad and her sisters boyfriends friend Owen but no one answers.
The writing of Loretta is flawless as ever! I enjoyed this book immensely and read it in a few hours. I recommend that you read the prequel to this series, Clarity which brings more insight into Grayson's tragic death. Now, on to the review...
The book starts when Carmen walks in on Grayson after he has died.
What I liked about the story was that we got to see Carmen's state of mind slowly being unraveled. With each page, we understand more of Carmen and how she goes on without her husband. We also get to see and know Carmen at her most vulnerable and her view of the situation of Grayson's death and more on her family.
Am looking forward to the next installment in this series and more on Helen as well!
This picks up where the 1st book ended. More sadness and tragedy for the family. Hard truths are revealed, because of the tragedy. This series reminds me a bit of V. C. Andrews early writings.
I received this book as a gift and read it without knowing anything about it...the only way I can describe this is a train wreck - it is so disturbing you want to turn away but so intriguing that you just can't. I still haven't decided if that is a good or bad thing. I loved the writing style and the author's ability to completey suck me in but some of it was so dark and twisted I felt like I really should just put it down. However, I didn't, I read it all...in 1 sitting. And whether I want to or not I have a feeling I will be purchasing book 2 very soon, maybe today... I give it 3.5 stars

Will she ever find out the reason for her husbands death. This was the first in a four book series, so I will have to wait to learn the rest of the story.
Camren is six months pregnant trying to coke with her life. Her husbands death , her I'll after and her estranged sister, all of this while fighting her husbands best friends advances. She can't seem to figure out what to do or want and obsessing about her ex makes it worse, but then own comes in to her life and is like a new light shining in for her. She can breath and smile for the first time in so long, but can she do what right in her heart can she learn to love and live a good life, or will she be stuck in a life that makes her feel less then whole?
Carmen's husband has committed suicide and her sister has been in an car accident. Carmen learn more about her evil husband Grayson she learns more about him now that he is gone. Who is telling the truth? Can she believe all the stories she still loves him even though he destroyed her sister. Is Grayson going to destroy her as well. Some really dark issues but it made for a good read.

Read the books with her sister and enjoyed them fairly well. I was curious about these because in the other books she was annoying lol. Basically in this book she's even worse. I don't think I've ever hated a lead female character more than i do her. She is a WHORE period point blank! Also she is way to easy (not just in a sex kinda way) but also the way she falls for anything any man says to her. Why she married that idiot guy in the first place is beyond me! Ugh! I'm done.

I loved this book. I thought the blurb about it sounded good but I did not expect to like it as much as I did. I could not put it down. It was a non-stop, crazy roller coaster and I don't think that will change with the second book. I am dying to know where this story will lead and what will happen to Carmen. I am really rooting for Owen being a good guy, but in this story, I have no idea what will happen. I immediately recommended this to my best friend.
End of Eternity is probably one of the worst books I’ve read. No plot and no ending. Don’t by this book if you want to know how it ends because there is no ending. The characters are an unbelievable bunch. I’m sorry I can’t say anything good about this book or author. Don’t waste your money on End of Eternity
Once I start a book I rarely abandon it. This one had me wishing that I would have tossed it. The story line has potential but there are too many improbable events. It ends abruptly in a cliffhanger so awkwardly timed that purchasing the next title is not even remotely enticing.
Worst book I’ve read for the year. Must have been an amazon freebie and was already on my kindle. Seemed short and the title was interesting enough. The book was a mess. Author was clearly Lost while writing this and looking for a direction. Way too many erratic and pointless things happening. You instantly hate the main character and it only exponentially gets worst.
