Not in the slightest bit "enjoyable" a tale - too black, too dark and dirty and Enright a character writ large but damaged and doomed to failure. But such is O'Sullivan's writing that one is compelled, fascinated, to follow the final months, the downward spiral of his life, knowing that it'll never end well.
