I bought this book because I have watched the movie based it. I already knew the plot but the ending surprised me. Soe Naing played a larger role in the movies than in the novel. The novel focuses more on the relationship between Captain Thet Mon and Khin Khin Lay. I wish the novel had the same ending as the movie :(
