In addition to being an author, I’m also a wife and mom. My family lives in the Live Music Capital of the World, Austin, Texas.
I am blessed to have a family that supports all my wild and crazy ideas. They give me the time and the encouragement I need to write and publish the stories that still float around in my head every single day.
I hope you enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. I’ve always said, as long as people keep reading, I’ll keep writing.

While there was a plot, I believe this book could have been so much more. The sex was often over the top along with foul language and neither seemed to add to the story. Rory and Hindley don't meet under the best of circumstances, no thanks to her stepsister, but he's a gentleman. Before they realize they have a working relationship there is a definite attraction and several hot and heavy kisses. They don't let their work responsibilities get in the way of what they want, or do they? They are hot one minute, cold the next and their secrets are going to be their undoing. Hindley seems to be quite naive in a lot of ways.
There are many stories being told and they are interwoven throughout. There are a cast of characters and they all have layers to them. Hindley tries to do the right thing for everyone else even when she's hurting herself in the long run. Her mother leaves a lot to be desired since she seems to favor the evil stepsister, since they are more alike, than her own daughter. Hindley's stepfather, who she seems to have a good relationship with, unfortunately doesn't know how to say no to his wife or his daughter. Rory has a good relationship with the family who took him under their wing and they get him. There isn't closure or a happily ever after since the book ended abruptly with Rory and Hindley's story continuing in the next book in the series, Extreme Devotion.
Ms. Manis is a new to me author. I may give the next book in the series a read only because I'd like to get closure to Hindley and Rory's story.
I enjoyed the characters, the romantic comedy moments, there were more “didn’t I just read this” moments than I’d like (but we have more moments in our lives like that than we like to admit). I thought there’d be more (and more descriptive) sexy-time than there was, but I didn’t miss it. I’m most disappointed that I’ll need to purchase the second book to finish this story, but since I paid $0.00 or $0.99 for it I can’t complain too much.
A full length book focused on the characters. You do not need to be a fan to understand Rory or an attorney to get Hindley. Great banter with mild sexy times between damaged heroes.
I was hooked very early on, the pages almost turning themselves & before I knew it, I'd read the first 18 chapters in one sitting! I loved the storyline & can't wait to start the second book of the series, closely followed by the rest!! Fabulous writer! 😍
I ended up noping out of this book 80 pages in. The writing was all over the place, and Rory spoke like a valley girl.. what guy actually says things like “As if.” - oh wait, maybe it was Dana that said that? I don’t know.. the head hopping was all over the place.
rollercoaster ride that pulls at your heart strings
This story was so good. Been a long time since I could read a book in one setting. I could not put this book down and that says a lot how good it is . No one will be disappointed
I liked the characters and the plot. The way the MC’s meet is on point, especially since she didn’t know he was a famous athlete. Unfortunately, their relationship ends up being strained because she become his agent and attorney. It was a good story.
Then it got repetitive. Argue make up sob story. I loved the characters especially Dana. Probably won't ready the next book. A good book. Just wasn't all for me.
I thought this book was good. The characters were likable, but the story seemed a little unrealistic for me. I did enjoy the writing style. The ending is a cliffhanger, which I wasn't expecting. Looking forward to the next one.
This had so much promise. The main characters had a lot of depth and a lot of secrets. Hence they also had a lot of insecurities. This is where it all started to fall apart. I understand characters having and needing insecurities to make the storyline more dramatic but it became a bit of a repeating pain to read about it. Somethings were so well documented in this book and then others you just jumped around. It was good but not great. It sucked me in and I wanted to see it to the end but i also became frustrated when the same dialogue occurred after every conversation.
