Sold on Valentine's Day

Rate this book
I'm buying her V-Card on V-Day.

I belong to an exclusive billionaires' club.
We hold a Valentine's Day auction every year. And it ain't for f*cking charity.

From the moment I see the new girl, Celeste, batting her innocent eyes at me while I stare back at her curvy, perfect body on the stage, I'm determined to be the highest bidder. I will own her tonight. Make her mine.

I have a cabin in Aspen where we could ski all day and screw all night.
But I don't go on dates and this cheesy holiday is no exception.
I'll pay a lot of money to take her. And I don't mean to dinner.

I come to this club because I have certain predilections.
I'll like it if Celeste is tied up and begging me for more, as I walk away for good unless I feel like paying her to let me do it all over again.
The only kind of relationship I'm in is with the almighty dollar.

Celeste is only nineteen and she's just filling in for a friend's shift.
I want to claim her. For her very first time.
She doesn't have a clue what she's getting into tonight.
But do I?

1.5*

I noticed this while looking around on Amazon and what intrigued me most were the reviews and the fact that they were so mixed, they ranged from an from 5* "amazing" to 1* "dire" and I was curious, since it was a short book I decided to see for myself.

#### CONTAINS SPOILERS ####

Basically it's too rushed and why is the handsome billionaire Maxim paying a fortune at these auctions hoping to find someone who'll put up with his kink when he could join an exclusive bdsm club where he knows his needs will be met.
So anyway Celeste turns up to auction off her companionship at dinner and gets tricked into selling her virginity.
Now she's doing her friend Rachel a huge favour by standing in for her tonight and since Celeste has to be one of the most naive people on the planet you would have thought considering Rachel had previously had been tricked by the evil Bianca that she would have warned Celeste, after all how often will Bianca come across someone with virginity to sell?
So Maxim pays one million dollars and books the enclave

“I’m going to be needing the Enclave tonight,” I inform her, mentioning a private room where high-paying patrons take a girl when they want to skip the pretense of dinner and get down to the important matters on the agenda for the evening.

He's their best customer who's just paid a small fortune and yet after hardly anytime at all someone is banging on the door saying it's their time.
If I was a rich and powerful man who'd just paid a million dollars I'd expect at least the night, it was ridiculous.
Honestly this felt more like a rough draft than the finished article, it was rushed with no depth and while I appreciate it's an incredibly short book it's a story that's been done so many times it needs the characters to pull it through and we just don't get a feel for them here.

DONE WITH WOMEN (cough cough sluts) WHO SELL THEIR V-CARDS!

I'm sorry but isn't that the very definition of prostitution?
Women who sell their bodies for money are called prostitutes right? Or has that changed in romance land?

I've read this plot too many times and now I have to say is....

description

But I tried it... it just wasn't for me. These two just aren't that engaging.
Also, the whole hero manwhore thing....yeah I'm done with that too.

Sadly, but I hope others enjoy it.

I like to f*ck the way I want to f*ck, dominantly & aggressively & I don't date that's why I use The Exchange's serves to procure the women I have sex with. The Exchange auctions off women based on their willingness to have dinner through holding nothing back (my personal preference) based on the color of bracelets the women wear. Tonight is the special Valentine’s Day auction & I’ve heard a rumor there will be a new girl being offered & I intend to win her. My name is Maxim Drier & I am a very wealthy 40 year bachelor with no desire to settle down. Celeste Sheffield knows she is crazy for agreeing to be auctioned off like a piece of meat at a cattle yard. Her best friend who works regularly at The Exchange as a dinner companion auctionee has a special Valentine’s Day date with her boyfriend she doesn’t want to miss & needs Celeste to cover for her. Celeste’s friend assures her she only has to have dinner with the auction winner & nothing more. But when it is time to go out on the stage for the auction, Celeste is tricked into wearing the wrong colored bracelet & is bought for 1 million dollars. She knows that she will be expected to do more than have dinner with the highest bidder.

This very short older man falls for younger woman story sizzles with a very attractive hot dominate alpha male & innocent young lady. Neither of them expects what happens when they finally find themselves only together…… she becomes very eager & he becomes less aggressive. The intensity of their union is enough to really make them both want more. This book is meant for mature readers!

Rachel is a member of a private club she hears of a auction for Valentines Day Rachel wants her friend Celeste to help her out Celeste doesn’t want to go back on her word she’s nervous as she has never done this before. When Celeste gets to the auction everything goes wrong she doesn’t know how she was sold for a million dollars to Max that’s where the story unfolds,I enjoying reading about these two, a 5 star read for me.

Happy Reading

She wasn’t expecting to sell her V-Card on V-Day...

Good friend and all around good girl Celeste is trying to help out her best friend on Valentine’s Day. She grudgingly offered to take over her friend’s shift at an exclusive “companionship” auction for wealthy men. Her friend swears she will only be auctioned off to be someone’s dinner companion for the evening, but starts to get suspicious when the bidding on her goes through the roof. A gorgeous man in the crowd is determined that she will be his for the night, but innocent Celeste has no idea what he has in mind.

Maxim has certain tastes when it comes to satisfying his needs and he’s looking for a woman to satisfy him on Valentine’s Day night. He gets tipped off that there’s a new girl at the auction, for one night only and she might even be a virgin. Maxim immediately decides that she’s going to be his. No matter what the price.

Celeste surprises herself and is very attracted and willing to experiment with Maxim. Maxim also surprises himself, by wanting to be more patient and gentle with her than he normally would be and even considers the possibility of making plans with her beyond their one night deal.

They both end up getting more than they bargained for, but they agree that it was worth every penny.

Sexy, steamy billionaire and virgin romance. Super quick read. Fun insta-love Valentine’s Day treat. HEA.

Sold on Valentine's Day by Juliana Conners an amazing five-star read. This is a hot, heavy and quick read. Juliana Conners writes hot and steamy well. This is a Virgin and a Billionaire Romance, it has no cliff-hangers, and a HEA.
Celeste agrees to help her best friend out and attend a Billionaires Escort auction, as one of the lots, at nineteen she is fresh, young and inexperienced, just what the bidders like. When she looks in the mirror she doesn’t even recognise herself she looks so polished.
One bidder in particular is very interested in her and won’t allow anyone else to win her, When Maxim sets his eyes on her, he knows he has plans for her, they involve getting what he paid for and making sure he has the best time. If he decides he wants more he will pay for it, as that’s what he has always done.
The only problem is that life never runs the way you want it to. As Maxim is about to find out.

This has potential but needs editing and an overhaul. The dialogue was ok at some points and so cheesy at others that it felt like a highschooler was trying their hand at writing. I bought this as a part of a boxed set and I think I'm going to give it a bit before I read any of the others.

This book would have been so much better if it was longer and more developed. It was cute but very cheesy and totally over the top. Celeste is a 19 year old virgin doing a favor for her best friend. The Exchange is an exclusive underground dinner club where women are auctioned off to men to be their dinner companions. Of course there is more to the club than meets the eye but that is completely up to the female being auctioned. Celeste's friend has reassured her that she only has to eat with these men anything else is optional. Maxim Drier is a rich, hard working businessman who has certain proclivities that he likes to indulge in at The Exchange. He's excited about this evenings auction because he heard a new girl is up for bid. Each girl gets a colored bracelet and each color signifies what they are willing to do with the bidder. Some are available for dinner only and others will do pretty much anything. A spiteful woman tells Celeste the wrong color bracelet and she chooses the color that signifies she's up for anything and everything. Maxim wants Celeste as soon as he sees her walk on stage and he's shocked when he sees the color of her bracelet. As I said it was way too short and the ending was rushed an epilogue would have been nice.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Celeste is going over the last minute details with her friend. You see her friend is taking the night off from the club she works at, it it the type of club that girls get bid on and depending on the color of bracelet they have on determine what kind of "date" they will have after being bid on. Celeste really doesn't want to do this, but she loves her friend and this is a night that her friend needs to take. So she goes to the club, and the usual colors of the bracelets have changed just for tonight, which happens to be Valentine's day. Pink bracelet on, and out on stage she goes.....it is going to be one awesome and pricey night tonight.

Maxim is a member of this club, and he is rather bored lately. He heard that there will be a new girl subbing for a friend that does work there. He is excited and really going to make sure he has a good evening. When he sees her walk out on stage, that was it, he HAS to bid and win her. She is holding something very special too, and that would be her V-card. His bidding begins and others are bidding too. Maxim already noticed what color bracelet she has on, and goes full steam ahead. Highest bid for that night and ever.....now he is about to have some fun.

There seems to be a whole lot of confusion and unclear directions all evening, including the color of bracelets. Celeste is told pink means "just dinner" and Maxim is assured pink means "anything at all." Then once he gets her into the private reserved room, he wastes no time, and Celeste is completely surprised that she doesn't mind what the pink bracelet stands for as long as it is with Maxim.

In the heat on the moment (maybe.....or not) Maxim says some pretty strong words, words he never wanted and never had, until her. Celeste says them back to him. AWKWARD!! Then the suite is needed for the next patron and date. Things stay awkward and they both leave just like that. Both of them are confused and too stubborn to do anything about it. So now it is Rachel (gotta love BFF's for taking the bull by the horns) to put into play the reuniting of these two. Fireworks galore.

What happens from start to finish in this fantastic book keep you on your toes, and keep you tuned in completely. All the fun, the ups and downs and all these two go through are just too good to miss.

A hot and steamy quick read that will melt your panties! Celeste helps out her best friend Rachel by filling in for her at her job at a private club. Only thing is, it's being sold for an evening of companionship - dinner only she is told. A jealous co-worker lies and tells Celeste the wrong bracelet color and she ends up being sold for the night for whatever the man wants. To top it all off, she's a virgin! Maxim is the man that purchases her for $1 million and he is a dominant alpha male billionaire, who is into BDSM. Their chemistry is off the charts and although neither expected to find what they ultimately were looking for, they sure found it!

For the short length, this fun and dirty read did not feel rushed. 19 year old Celeste is still a virgin and agrees to be auctioned on Valentine's Day in an exclusive club, to cover for her friend where Maxim, a dominant alpha, sees her and immediately wants her......... the plot has a little drama, and some very steamy scenes, to ignite your kindle.

Whoa

Ok, this one was totally outside of my normal romance style, and as NSFP as some others I've read recently. But it was still sweetly innocent in its own way. I do enjoy it when the hero gets his ass handed to him by his heart. Or the heroine.

2 ½ Stars

Sold On Valentine’s Day by Juliana Conners is a standalone story full of insta-love- with an innocent college student, and an older, very experienced man who has a rather particular sexual appetite. This is a very short and easy read- but I felt that the character development and the storyline suffered a little because it was so short. I think the story really needed to be a little loner to bring out some depth to the story, as well as the characters. The length of the book also gave the story a bit of a rushed feel. Because of these issues, I feel the story suffered and didn’t reach its full potential- which is disappointing, because there is so much promise to the premise.
Parts of the story also felt a little too ‘convenient’ and not believable- it also felt a bit forced, to fit in with the shortened timeline. My copy from amazon had quite a lot of editing issues- wrong words, singular words instead of plurals, and missed words. Although this isn’t a major issue, they did ‘pull me out’ of the story.
I won’t go into the storyline here, as the blurb does that quite well- but for me this story was quite cheesy and fell short. I would be interested in reading a longer, more expanded version of this book if the author ever decides to revisit it in the future.
Sorry, I really did want to love this book much more than I did!

Thank you, Ms. Connors.

Filling in for her friend Celeste end up at the Valentines's Day Auction at the Exchange. She thought she was going on a dinner date. When she gets to the action she ends up getting a pink bracelet which means that anything goes on this date, she was supposed to get the color for dinner only. Maxim has been going to the Exchange for many years due to his tastes in sex which is hard to find woman to do so. When he heard that there was a new girl, he was excited and looking forward to see what she would be like. When he sees Celeste, he really likes what he see. She gorgeous, shes' a virgin and she has a bracelet that says "Anything Goes". A million dollar bid wins him Celeste. What happens when they bypass the dining room and go to a bedroom? Will Celeste let Maxim take her virginity? Will she let him do all of the dirty things he likes to do with woman which would include whipping, spanking and tying her up. I didn’t love this book as much as the first one, however, I did enjoy getting to read it. Each book has its own little tale to tell. I did love getting to read what would happen at each festive occasion (holiday) but honestly, Juliana’s writing is just incredible. The characters are likeable again and you just find yourself sucked into the story and wanting to not get to the end. Again this is another short, quick fun read, if you haven’t read Juliana’s work before then you should consider doing so. If you love short stories then the books in this series would be the idealist place to start.

It’s good to have a best friend and even more rewarding when you can help them in their hour of need, or is it !! When Celeste has to stand in for her friend Rachel at an auction, she is in way over her head. Not knowing what’s involved and then being bid on is quite a revelation. Meeting her “buyer” is a pleasant surprise as Maxim Drier is quite the catch. For Maxim, he is quite smitten with Celeste as she is like no other woman he has ever met.
Two people , two different lifestyles, one big experience neither of them will ever forget. A quick read but it still delivers a punch. Off to read the Epilogue.

Wow

I really cannot believe how anyone has given this a 4 or 5 star rating. This was so rushed and unbelievable that I really can't believe I just read it. They said I love you after maybe 30 minutes together. This whole thing was crazy. Maxim was supposed to be in his 40s but acted like a 21 year old at best. This was just so much no. I am am so glad this was free.

Lmao this was so bad. They didn’t meet till half way (there’re only 12 chapters!) and then the rest was hilarious. I can’t stop laughing. After the bracelet mixup which was sorted in a second, she still goes through with it, he gets all mellow and THEN THEY BOTH SAY I LOVE YOU! They’ve known each other likes less than an hour. I can’t stop laughing.

Not for me

This was a short insta love story which I don't have a problem with, but this moved way to quick even for me. This could have been stretched into a proper book, it had the story line to be good, but being it wrapped up in an hour and a bit it just fell flat for me.
