Terry comes home to find that his Mother's started showing a distinct interest in a homeless boy she met at the local grocery store. As the weeks go by, he finds his mother first inviting this boy home for dinner, then to stay the night. They open their lives to this boy, and Terry finds he's developing what he thinks is a real friendship with this strange boy.

As with most things in life, things are not all they appear. What should be a high point in Terry's young life with his two best friends is the turning point upon which he discovers all that this strange guest has hidden from him. And he discovers the lengths to which he's willing to go to help friends, even those who've failed to be completely honest with him.
