About the author

Hiromu Arakawa (author: 荒川弘) is a Japanese manga artist, best known for Fullmetal Alchemist (鋼の錬金術師 Hagane no renkinjutsushi).
Her real name is Hiromi Arakawa (荒川弘美).

Arakawa was born and raised on a dairy farm in Hokkaidō.
She thought of being a manga artist since she was little. After graduating high school, she took oil painting classes while working on her family's farm. During that time, she also created dōjinshi manga with her friends and drew yonkoma for a magazine. After eight years she moved to Tōkyō and started out as assistant writer for Hiroyuki Etō.
Her debut as manga artist is in 1999 with STRAY DOG. In 2001 she started working on her famous and award winning series Fullmetal Alchemist, that soon gets a successful anime adaptation.
Other works include Silver Spoon (銀の匙 Silver Spoon, Gin no saji Silver Spoon).

Wow, that was an interesting and intriguing revelation at the end. I'm very curious about this and how Arslan (and the ohters) will react to this.

I love Arslan and the way he treats people.

I also love the friendship feeling from all of them. :)

Arslan mulai menunjukkan kekuatannya, semakin yakin dengan keputusannya menghapus perbudakan. Dan, target awalnya adalah membebaskan ayahnya, Andragoras, supaya dirinya 'dilihat' dan keputusannya dipertimbangkan sang Raja Andragoras. Tapi ... kejutan muncul jelang akhir tentang garis darah dua pangeran yang sama-sama memiliki obsesi.

Selipan humor semakin banyak dan mencerahkan artwork yang lumayan suram.

Discord in the camp

Turning away invaders, a near assassination attempt again a prince, discord among the ranks, vows to be reconfirmed, and more as Arslan finds himself not only in a violent world in need of stability but also among those he considers friends and trusted confidents. Like the older title Fullmetal Alchemist this series continues to show not only the serious side of the world but also keeps tensions from getting to great with humor and great art which is appreciated. :)

Wir erfahren Schritt für Schritt mehr über die Politik in dem Manga. Auch über Intrigen am Hof und auch an andern gibt es genug zu sehen. Dabei bekommen wir immer wieder Action und blutige Auseinandersetzungen. Vor allem die Wendung am Ende entfacht meine Neugierde auf das was da noch kommen wird.

Die Charaktere sind gut gestaltet mit interessanten Hintergründen. Manchmal finde ich es verwirrend das es so viele Charaktere gibt die hier mitmischen

Finally, not everything is perfect for our heroes as it seems to have been in the past installments. It's good to see some tension in the narrative beyond just running around the countryside. Don't get me wrong; I've enjoyed it so far. But I'm much more excited to see where this goes!

Ceaselessly awful about women, and the pace is really starting to drag. Plus a lot of overblown edginess.

But there is one plot thread that still has me intrigued, so I might keep going with the next volume and hope for the best.

really not sure if I’ll continue reading this series. there are characters I really like and I enjoy some of the relationship dynamics but I read that the series doesn’t end well and that’s killed a lot of my interest.

Chronique sur le blog.

Dans ce tome on en apprend un peu plus sur l’origine du royaume Parse et de la lignée royale actuelle, tandis que des secrets gardés depuis des dizaines d’années éclatent au grand jour. La situation, déjà complexe, devient plus confuse encore et cela risque de rendre la reconquête d’Ecbatâna par Arslân d’autant plus ardue.

La troupe d’Arslân se rapproche de Peshawar et c’est un plaisir d’y retrouver un personnage intéressant qu’on avait vu dans le premier tome : Kishwahd et son faucon (unique puisque le frère de ce dernier a été tué dans le tome précédent). Kishwahd n’hésite pas à prendre les armes pour défendre sa citadelle et son pays, tout en espérant que le prince Arslân soit toujours en vie.

Un des réels plaisir que j’ai à lire ce manga, c’est voir la camaraderie et la solidarité du petit groupe qui entoure, soutient et protège Arslân. En revanche je ne serai pas mécontente que l’engouement d’Alfrîd pour Narcus se termine – je comprends que c’est censé être drôle, mais elle reste une enfant de quinze ans s’étant entichée d’un adulte dix ans plus vieux…

Ce tome a plusieurs moments comiques, jouant sur les situations et le ridicule de certains personnages pour apporter de la légèreté à l’histoire qui s’assombrit au fur et à mesure des révélations. Au vu de la fin de ce tome, nul doute que le prochain sera tout aussi cocasse avec, je l’espère, quelques réponses supplémentaires pour faire suite aux secrets révélés ici.

There sure is a lot of posturing over ascension to the throne of Pars while the nation is in enemy hands and her people are being slaughtered! The interplay between Elam and Alfarīd for Narsus’s affection and attention is hilarious, as is Zandeh’s utter incompetence. The parallel problem with Sindhuran leadership is an interesting side story. And boy, oh boy, Lord Bahman’s revelation really throws a wrench into things. Interesting developments all around this volume and always fantastically illustrated by Arakawa sensei!

(Fyi: damavand is mountain in the north of iran and like nowhere near east. the legend of Zahak being imprisoned there is correct but it wasn't by KayKhusro it was by Freydoon. Anywaysssss)

アルスラーンは強い。自分の人生と自分の知っている世界が崩れってもちゃんとやるべき事に目指す。

それに対してヘルメスはチョット単純。アルスラーンが王家の血がないと聞いてアンドラゴラスが実の叔父上じゃないっていったいどうやて考えるの！？！明らかにアルスラーンはアンドラゴラス子ではないよ。今までの話の流れならタハミーネの子だ。でもタハミーネもアンドラゴラスもアルスラーンにとって冷たいので実はタハミーネの子は別人。だからエトワールだと思う。

Toujours aussi riche et haletant avec un dessin bien travaillé. Les personnages sont bien identifiables, chacun dans son camp et cela clarifie un peu le tout pour les lecteurs. Ghib est juste un peu trop absent de ce tome pour moi ^^

Encore un bon épisode bien dense. J'ai quand même hâte qu'on en sache plus sur Arslan parce que tout le mystère autour de lui m'intrigue beaucoup.
Y'a pas un instant d'ennui, cette série est une valeur sûre.
