5 Heart Wrenching Guitars for Falling Apart

First of all, this is not a stand alone! You need to read Ms. Oldham's The Falling of Love, The Falling of Grace, The Falling of Hope, Learning to Breathe and Falling in Paris, in that order, before you read this novella. Don't be overwhelmed, they are all fantastic reads, leading up to this new novella series.

I am so grateful for this "After We Fell" novella series. I have said time and again that I am just not ready to say goodbye to Ian and Grace, or Missy and Jaden.

Somehow I had forgotten how much Ms. Oldham loves to torture her readers (or her characters, depending on how you want to look at it.) She is the queen of the emotional rollercoaster! At several points in this brief story I wanted to, and at at least point actually did, scream and curse. Wtf moments do eventually explain themselves, but it is quite a ride. Have the tissues, wine and punching bag nearby.

I am trying hard not to hit on the actual plot because I abhor spoilers and I feel anything I could say has the potential to be a spoiler, especially if you missed the first After We Fell book (which is probably the sweetest and least angsty thing in her catalog, which is not to say that there isn't plenty of angst....)

The last line in this edition is a huge cliffy that has me all kinds of anxious to know more about. In my opinion there is absolutely no reason to avoid this book based on that, but fair warning (of course, if you have read the rest of the series, which, again, you really need to before this, you know that she writes cliffies with great flare.)

One other note, I rated in Guitars, because anything in the Falling world will always be rockstar romance for me. However, it is barely mentioned in this book. Though it is undeniably who Ian is, if you are wanting pure rockstar romance, the emphasis here is much more about their marriage than his career.

Marissa, once again, you floor me. This series never loses its edge, and always leaves me wanting more.

I can't live without these characters!!

Marisa Oldham has done it again! Ian and Grace, and Michelle, Micah and Jaden are characters that draw you in...break your heart...then heal it all over again with the deep love they all share for each other. By the title I found myself bracing for the emotional turmoil I knew was going to happen...I was right! If you have ever loved someone more than life itself, you will love the story of Grace and Ian, but do yourself a favor and read the entire "Falling" series. When you do...keep plenty of tissues ready!!

Emotions!!

Holy cow Marisa Oldham has done it again in Falling Apart!!! Marisa Oldham has this way of bringing every possible emotion into her books. Wowzers!!! One minute you are happy and smiling while reading her book, then moments later you are crying like a baby!!! The twist and turns, the never knowing what's going to happen next, and then the surprises hit.
Let me tell you, the best books are the ones that make you feel and this book and series does just that. Absolutely fantastic!! I can not wait for MORE!!!

ONCE AGAIN.... this author manages to twist something in an unexpected way and makes you remember that stories like this one, that reflect things that happen in real life, can stir something in you; a reaction, a memory, something you can relate to in your own relationships, and again...that you're not alone during the biggest difficulties in life. Love, love, loveeeeee that I can always count on this. Such real stories that make you feel the characters' lives!!!

You know by the title that there are going to be some twists and turns and some emotions in this book. Again, you feel like you’re with Grace and Ian as they head through a roller coaster of emotions.
Although this time Grace does leave, deciding that she can’t do what she has done to them their whole lives, Grace heads home to talk to Ian, realising that through their love they can make it through anything. I can’t wait to see what happens in the next book with Michelle and Micah.

GRAB A BOX OF TISSUE!!
Marisa Oldham is the Queen of tearing your heart out and making you cry your eyes out!!
I wasn't expecting to become so emotionally drained after reading this book but I really was.
The way Marisa wrote about loss and the pain of that loss was straight on.
My heart was breaking and tears flowed from my eyes.
Everything that was written in this book was so real and matched my own feelings in that situation.
Once again Marisa you did a wonderful job.

Can things get any worse for Grace and Ian!?!?

Just when I though things couldn't get any worse for Grace and Ian they do! This couple had been through so much it hurts. I keep falling more in love with Grace she's so freaking strong and like me stubborn as hell but sweet as can be. I can relate to a lot of the things she's gone through with Ian because I've been through some of it myself. You just have to figure out the right way for you to get through it all.

Heartbreaking

How can one couple have a lifetime of such heartache? Grace and Ian are living their dream and now they are suffering from tragedy again. I love these characters, all of them not just Grace and Ian. Real life can mimic our favorite books and vice versa but wow, life socks for these two at times. Their love has been challenged time and again.

Another cliffhanger but this time it seems Michelle is in meltdown mode!
