The Most Sadistic Book on the Market. This is book five in the A Glimpse into Hell series. Seth brings back Missy, Wyatt, Barry and Kenneth to help with a special assignment; to travel the State of Texas and inflict the most horrifying and demented acts of vengeance against our society's most ruthless criminals. The Reckoning is filled with dark humor, distasteful content, sadistic torture and nonstop acts of carnage. It also has a new level of disgustingness that the previous books lacked. But it's not all gore-there is also a great deal of interaction between Seth and his friends ranging from comradery, banter and animosity. WARNING: This book is extreme and contains filthy, grotesque and brutal torture scenes. It contains GRAPHIC CONTENT, ADULT LANGUAGE & POLITICAL INCORRECTNESS, may be disturbing to sensitive readers, and should only be read by the seasoned extreme-horror reader.

I don’t know what to say. I really loved the 1st and 2nd books they were amazing, unique, suspenseful, and even the torture felt new, somewhat believable, and not repetitive. But then book 3 and 4… they were boring 😔
When I got to book 5, I was excited to see the whole “team” back together, but it just didn’t live up to my expectations. The torture felt repetitive compared to the earlier books and not believable 🤔 The dynamic between the characters or let's say the dialogue it just .... Annoying? 😅
That being said, the ending left me like 🫨 I was genuinely shocked even though there were multiple hints that this character was going “coco” what he did still surprised me.
There’s still one more book to go, and I really hope it’s good.
If you have a weak stomach, this series is not for you. It is extremely gruesome. Please don't read this and give a negative review because you didn't pay attention to the warnings that came with this book. There are several.
Gruesome and hilarious all at the same time. I'm not sure where Wade H. Garrett gets his ideas, but he has some really creative ones. And just when I think he's gotten as sick as he can, he surprises me something else.
And omf. What an ending. I cannot wait until the next one!
Powered through this one as I always do when this fine author releases a new book! Wade is STILL coming up with gruesomely unique ways of punishing the wicked through his protagonist Mr Seth Coker. Good to see the return of a few familiar faces and how they interact with each other, Barry is always gunna be a classic and doesn't disappoint in this; The Fifth instalment of by far the most gruesome series on the market! One particular scene painted a very humorous and vivid picture in my mind, Seth riding through a field on a scumbag drawn wagon haha. Somebody needs to do an art piece of this scene. Cracks me up! In all, brutal with a page-turner of a plot and even a bit of a cliffhanger at the end. 5 stars all the way for this terrifying tome and I wouldn't have expected anything less!
more of a 2.5 but when it comes down to it, its a firm 2 stars. 1 full star because missy hard carried the entire book, and the other star because something interesting actually happened at the end: bobby or whatever his name is for this book, turning on the team and going rogue. killer against killer is definitely something id like to see, especially after he raped and skinned kenneth's face. now seth has some drive/motive to do more than the regular, so genuinely looking forward to reading the last book
so the big thing here, is that wade establishes the characters between books and completely switches them or simplifies them so they can be pidgeon holed into a comedic role throughout this book. Seth outlines their individual purpose within the group, and the descriptions DID not and DO NOT fit what was portrayed in their individual books, so it really just felt like character assassination just so a certain dynamic can take place in this book. which i hated, specifically because everyone was 8x more annoying
some of my bookmarked notes:
-So its okay for Seth to grope people now? it felt out of character and only raised questions. Like, was it because the guy he groped was gay that it was okay for him to do that, or was it because of the power imbalance, since the gay guy couldnt physically or psychologically retaliate against a known vigilante without losing his job or dying?
-penis jokes are the epitome of comedy nuts too. fondling them, in fact. its funny because penis guys c'mon please laugh its so funny
-im going to have an aneurysm if i have to read one more man go ewww yucky ewwwwwwww about touching another mans junk. theyre just body parts. no one cares if youre gay or not, just do what you have to. youre grown men with fully developed brains, grow a fucking pair for fucks sake im genuinely so sick of the bitching
-only real good parts of the book were where Missy was on page
-kind of upset we didnt get a book with just missy and seth killing these offenders, fuck the other guys. a missy and seth book is what shouldve been whatever these last few books were. with that said the only solid chapter is 'death certificate' the others were either mid, boring, dogshit, or mindnumbing
the rating would go up if wade made the main characters likeable. the only one i gave a shit about were seth and wyatt out of... what, 5 or 6 characters? thats really bad

I read one of his books in passing, thus one and was hooked ever since. I've read everything he's written in less time than 3 mos. Due to other obligations I have. He must be a new aurthor because i could not find any more books hes written. Anyway let me say that in all my years of reading in this genre, nothing on earth or in my wildest imaginings could have prepared me for what I'd stepped into! His "A GLIMPSE INTO HELL" Series is off the charts!! I know a book six (6) is in the making the way book five (5) "THE RECONNING" ENDED! And I know it takes time to write these stories, however mr. Garrett as a new devoted fan of your writting let me give you a word of advice, please don't wait too long for the continuation of the next book in your series "glimpse into the" otherwise your base just might grow cold and/or lose intrest as with anything else as soon as something else as or more interesting comes along. This was the last book in your series, but the first one I read leading me to read the rest. And I'm quite sure, everyone who've read this series are sitting on pins and needles to see the outcome in book six (6)! So please at least give us a hint as to when it will be published and available for sale!
The fifth installment of the AGIH series takes a new fresh direction when the secondary characters (Wyatt, Missy, Barry and Kenneth) from the previous AGIH entries join Seth Coker on a road trip across Texas to inflict the usual creative torturous and mutilating justice on scumbags and lowlifes this extreme horror series is known for.
An extra layer of pervertedness is added in "The Reckoning" that raises the bar in the nastiness factor.
I also found this installment to be the most entertaining so far, because of the interaction and dark humor between the various characters/vigilantes. Barry, especially, brings a new form of craziness, humor and unpredictability that makes this book stand out from its predecessors.
Lastly, the ending was also the best one in the series yet, and also the first one to REALLY make me want to read the next installment to see what happens next.
As always, Mr. Wade is at the top of his game and the true master of hardcore horror literature.
This is another amazing read by Wade H. Garnett an if you have read his previous books in this series then you know your in for a great extreme experience in this horror novel. Sets and his friends begin a trail of horrors for someone whom wants justice not only for him but many countless others that have suffered through the hands of differs courts etc. Sets with the help of his friends are happy to oblige and thus starts off the trail of torture in the most horrendous and heinous acts of retribution you could ever imagine. There are a few funny moments and some nice twists along the way with an added twist at the end that will have you reeling if you have read the previous books that you won't want to miss. An incredible storyline with the most extreme bloody and gruesome horrors that every extreme reader will love. But be advises this is for the extreme horror reader and NOT for those easily offended or weak stomached so please be warned. Otherwise read and enjoy the work of an amazing writer and author of this book. 1000% recommended.
I absolutely love the Glimpse Into hell Series by Wade Garrett. We follow Seth Coker, Now book one and two Angel of Vengeance and Angel of Death are a little more series but as we get into SplatterPunk Book # of A Glimpse Into Hell Series of books we get to really know the characters. Some are Seth Coker, Barry< Kenneth and a few others. Towards the end is also Justin the Milk Man and more. A lot of people talk about how this series is repetitive and not realistic, but this is what i also love about it. It is repetitive because Seth is a very certain sort of killer and unrealistic? Yes but Hilarious, also yes. If you are looking for a fun out there series with super loveable characters i would give this a chance, I prefer books 3 through 7.
Another installment of this sick gory twisted series. Better than a horror movie and 1000x as messed up.
Seth and a few friends take an RV trip (the RV has of course converted into a punishment torture chamber) around the country to pick up scumbags - murderers, rapists, evil people - and punishes them in the most inventive and sadistic gory ways he can imagine. The punishment always fits the crime.
And as usual, it’s dripping with dark, sarcastic and morbid humor… my favorite kind.
The author is definitely on more than a few government watch lists by now with all the crazy shit he comes up with lol.
Wow, what an awesome installment to the series. It was brutal, sick, gory and full of even more dark humour. Wade H Garrett keeps on stepping it up with each new book in the series. I won't leave any spoilers but suffice it to say there's an epic road trip around Texas, rounding up scumbags and dishing out vengeance with the help of a few friends. There's a huge twist at the end of the book which leaves you aching for the next chapter, which I'm off to read now. Brilliantly written as always, 10/10.
Ever since I read this series I've found nothing else in the Splatterpunk sub - genre that measures up in comparison. Everyone else just comes across as cheesy, predictable or simply uncreative in their ways of torturing/murdering characters. Really looking forward to the next in the series and finding out how Seth and the gang plan to bring Barry to justice. Great stuff, Wade!
Another Road trip.. but with a whole gang this time and Barry well.. I guess you just have to read it to find out. As far as me.. I’m still mad. Things at home got even worse.. so all I can do right now is read. Highly recommended if you are in a angry mood and the people in your life are constantly trying to push your buttons and calling you crazy (gaslighting) when you know you are not. I never thought reading could be therapeutic.. for a horror fan..
You can never go wrong with Seth, Missy, Wyatt, Barry, and Kenneth doing some demented acts of vengeance against some scumbags. They were punished in ways that you couldn't even imagine. I couldn't believe what happened towards the end and absolutely loved how the book ended.
