Rate this book
“Critical A Beginner's Guide To Critical Thinking, Better Decision Making and Problem Solving!” is a great introduction to the fundamental principles of critical thinking. It is a book that offers insightful tips, as well as steps that are easy to follow for effective problem solving. Amazingly, the tips provided are not geared towards solving only one type of problem. Instead, you can follow them to find solutions to a wide range of challenges. At the same time, the simple guidelines that the book outlines are not restricted for use by people of only one profession. On the contrary, they are applicable to all professions, and even other spheres of life. For example, businesspeople are bound to find the techniques of critical thinking described in the book very useful in solving business related problems, while politicians are likely to find the same techniques handy. In fact, the lessons taught in this book are useful to everyone who looks forward to seeking and finding solutions to simple as well as tough challenges. This book is organized terribly. The lists are messy and confusing, and it’s all painfully repetitive. Many of the subtitles will be worded almost exactly the same as the previous heading, and I found myself reading the same information over and over again.

Considering it is targeted at an adult audience, it is also painfully and unnecessarily obvious. Many points can be easily described as common sense.

The grammar itself, including word choice and sentence fluency, is also very poor. The flow of sentences is extremely difficult to follow, and many of the sentences contain clunky, ill-fitting words. It seemed as if the author simply used a thesaurus on every word in the sentence and reshaped it to something unnecessarily clunky.

The only reason I gave this book two stars is because it did contain a few rare nuggets of useful information. I would have appreciated this book and the information it offered if it cut away the useless common sense and repetitive crap, as well as the clunky word choice. Overall, there was some useful information, but I feel it was very poorly delivered.

This book was apparently written by someone who doesn’t quite understand English and who has a poorly equipped grade school reading and writing comprehension. The only thing you’ll learn about critical thinking from this book is how to spot a terrible book. It was also virtually copied and pasted from a similar non-depth look at types of thinking.

DO NOT BUY THIS BOOK! If you happen upon a copy, read it, just to see how terrible it is, but if not, don’t waste your money buying this waste of paper.

The book has a lot of grammatical errors. It is hard to follow at times. It supposed to be a guide to critical thinking but there was no instruction/method in the book that can not be found on google.
