Colt

This one was average, it was kind of typical biker romance, Lena's brother is involved with an MC and when he goes missing she goes to ask the MC for help, and the boss falls for her. It was all very simplistic, and even if it followed the main points a good MC romance has, there are better ones. Not Glenna's best work, but not bad either.

Lena's brother goes to her and asks if he can crash at her house, she is not sure, but he says he has been clean for months and only needs to get away from the MC for a few days, she accepts, but he never shows up at her house. She asks the police for help, but they don't act, saying that he is only a junky and not worth their time, so she goes to the MC to ask for help. The boss says that he will help, but sends her away, she goes out, but is watching their club, waiting to see if they do something. Colt finds her outside and sends her away, then he shows at the dinner she works, and they fight, and then she goes and apologizes for thinking the worst of him. He sends her away again and insists he is going to take care of the problem, but since he doesn't explain anything she is worried. Then she gets a text that some people has his brother and asks for some drug in exchange of him, she goes looking for her brother and walks into a fight between the guys and his brother MC, in the crossfire Colt takes her away and back to his club and decides to keep her close.

After explaining that they didn't have her brother and that they are still looking for him, they start to talk and get to know each other better. They find her brother and plan to go for him, but Colt doesn't want Lena there, so he tells another of the guys from the MC to take her and another girl away, but Lena convinces him to let her go, and it results in the guy almost getting killed. Colt gets angry at Lena and sends her away, but the guys from his MC, including the one that was hurt, tell him that he is being too hard on her, so he goes to her and invites her to a party, after that they get back together.


Patrick

This one was very, very weird. I know that sometimes reality is stranger than fiction, but this book was way over the top. Patrick's and Kayla's relationship is complicated and made even more complicated by their actions. This is one of those books that could have been very good, but fell short.

Kayla's husband died while working as a navy seal, and she is having trouble getting over it, she loved her husband too much, and the fact that she was pregnant at the time, didn't know it, spend a few weeks drunk before realizing she was pregnant, but was too late to save her daughter from suffering from her drinking and ended up dying, doesn't help matters. Her best friend, that sometimes acts as her worst enemy, is pushing her to date again, even setting her up in a blind date from hell. She then meets Patrick and starts falling for him, she feels guilty at first, but then finally tells her dead husband that she is ready to move on.

From the beginning, we know there is something odd going on with Patrick, and then his "brother" Colton starts making appearances, he is a bad guy, and an assassin, and as the story advances we realize that he is also the result of Patrick's split personality that was encouraged by the navy to make him a killing machine. When Patrick starts losing time, he realizes that Colton is back, and tries to stop him again with the help of his sister and a doctor, and tries to stay away from Kayla, but he can't, but instead of telling her the truth, he invents a lot of lies to cover his actions.

Kayla starts noticing that something is not right with Patrick, he always has an answer for everything, but when his brother in law is attacked and he identifies Patrick as the one who almost killed him, and also says he confesses to killing Kayla's husband, she cuts all communication to him. Of course Patrick's sister goes and explains what happened, how he has multiple personalities and that Colton is the guilty one. After that, of course she forgives him (what!?), and they get together.


Drake
This one I didn't like, there were a lot of typos, a few of them could be that the writer wanted to make the bad guys speak a very bad English, but there were typos in other parts, not only dialogue. The plot could have been good, but we have some inconsistencies with the characters that I didn't like. The story is about an innocent teacher that, because of a mistake, ends in the Chinese mafia hit list. Drake, a friend of her brother, arrives just in time to save her. He is like this super soldier who seems to be on top of everything, but ends up making the biggest mistakes. This is not a book I would recommend, it could have been very good, but didn't meet my expectatives.

Drake needs to give Charlotte a letter her brother entrusted to him to give to her, before dying. He arrives and finds two men following her and tries to warn her, but he comes across as a creepy stalker and since she hates men from the military that's strike three and she send him away. He follows her anyway and saves her when the two guys break into her house. He starts helping her and investigating and end up almost being killed when more guys attack the dinner where he was planning to get lunch. The friend he asked for help informs him that the guys after him are Triad, organized mafia, and that they are very dangerous.

Drake and Charlotte escape and are hidding, while being there she finds out why they are after her, somehow her usb got swapped with one of her friend's usb, and it has a lot of information on ivory illegal trade, after that she receives a call from her missing friend's phone, and see that the bad guys had captured her and want their usb back. Instead of going to the police and asking for backup, Drake decides to go alone, and swap the usb for Charlotte's friend, as if it was ok to trust the mafia to just give the girl back once they had the usb in their power. So he goes to them with the usb (really? I could think of dozen of alternatives to that, but the military super hero couldn't?). After beating him almost to death, they inform him that they went for Charlotte and that they are going to sell her and her friend to recover the money they lost while hunting them down.

So the bad guys leave Drake in an alley, almost dead, and don't bother about him again, but an old man and his grandson save him and then his friend arrives and with the help of the grandson they find where the bad guys are hiding and his friend contact some people from the FBI and they plan an attack on them. They finally go into the bad guys base, and find Charlotte, her friend, and some girls that were also going to be sold. Drake goes after the boss, who took Charlotte and is trying to escape, and arrives just in time to save her, and recover the usb with all the information they need to send them to jail (because why would he destroy the one thing that could hurt his operation?). So the good guy saves the girl and they live happily ever after.



Wade
Another one that didn't work for me. The main story is about Kara and Wade, but there's a side story about Kara's sister and Wade's former partner that I think was totally unnecessary. I like side stories, when they are well made, but it was more like a distraction from the main plot, and there was nothing in that side story that couldn't have been done from the main character's POV. Besides the side story that I didn't like, the main story wasn't much better, it was hard to follow the timeline, sometimes it gave me the impression that it has been days since the last scene, but then they say it has been days, and then weeks have gone by. The time jumps are a little hard to follow. This is one of those books that could have been very good, but didn't turn out so well.

Kara has been receiving some threatening letters, so they hired some security for her, during a meet and greet, after a concert, a guy tries to stab her, but her new bodyguard manages to stop him. They confirm that that was the guy sending the letters, but they also find that he was working for a known mafia boss, one that has been trying to get Kara to switch to his new record label. It turns out that Wade tried to arrest him when he was a cop, but they didn't find the proof they needed and the bad guy ended up killing his partner's family. His partner went crazy and killed the people who killed his family and then disappeared, and the police has been looking for him ever since. Kara's sister is a nurse, and she has been taking care of a coma patient that turns out to be Wade's former partner, the one that went missing after killing all those people, when he wakes up, she sends a photo of the both of them to Kara and Wade finds out where he is, and he sends the police after him.

There is another attempt on Kara's life, but Wade manages to save her, capturing a known hit man in the process, but still is not enough to stop the bad guy that's after Kara. She is afraid and decides to go away, but after a few days the record label demands her return or they are going to sue her for breach of contract. She has to go back to the recording studio, and she receives another visit from the bad guy telling her to switch labels or else, but she tells him she will never work for him. There is a third attempt on Kara's life, but it turns out that the one who tried to kill her is another pop singer, the one she is on tour with, because she is jealous of her rising fame and the fact that Wade doesn't want anything to do with her and prefers to be with Kara.

After that Kara talks to her sister and finds out she is hiding the coma patient, she decides to go visit her, and when she is about to arrive, she receives a call from her sister's phone, but is the bad guy calling, telling her he has her sister and that she needs to come save her, but he doesn't know she is already on her way and thinks he has more time. Before he has a chance to hurt her, the coma patient fights him, the bad guy thinks he had already killed him after he killed his people, and shoots him again. Then Wade arrives and manages to capture the bad guys. The other guy was wearing a bullet proof vest and is alive, and since he saved Kara's sister they help him hide before calling the police and finally getting the bad guy arrested.


James

Another book that fell a little short, the plot is good, but again, it jumps a lot from scene to scene, and I feel like it leaves a few things out, but at the same time it goes too slow. I hated the characters, they were all over the place, we have a security guy, ex-cop, that is a drunk and a ballet dancer that has absolutely no sense of self preservation. I think that this is the worst book of the bunch, it started ok and then every book got worse than the previous one.

Celia is a ballet dancer, the book starts with her director throwing her out of rehearsal, and then they meet at a bar and then he propositions her and she rejects him, making him angry. The next day she receives a threatening call at the studio, and at first she thinks it's her boss, but he denies it. She is scared, but mostly just ignores it. Then, after a party, she goes back to her house with a friend, and finds the door unlocked, then her friend goes exploring her house and finds Celia's cat dead in her bed. They go to the police, but before she talks to them, she calls the company and they ask her to go to the studio. They ask her not to contact the police and instead they hire a security company to protect her. Celia is mad that they decide she needs a bodyguard, but doesn't get any options and has to keep James as her bodyguard.

Celia doesn't like being followed everywhere by James, so she escapes him to go to a bar to meet with her only friend Megan. There, a guy sends her a drink, and she drinks it, passing out just after James arrives looking for her. They take her to the hospital and there they tell her she was drugged with an almost lethal dose of rape drug. She spends a couple of days in the hospital and then goes back to rehearsal. She is overwhelmed and James suggests going out for a walk, and then she notices that he is distracted and he tells her that he is looking to see if someone is following them and kind of confesses of using her as bait. She gets angry, and then forgives him, and they go back to the apartment to find a threatening note. (I don't get why if Celia keeps thinking that some stuff is being moved and someone is breaking into her house, no one, not even the super security guys think of installing cameras to see who is breaking in).

They go stay in a hotel, they have sex, and then James wakes up and finds another threatening note someone slipped under the door. He goes to face Celia's boss, asking who else knew about them being in the hotel, and they get into a fight. When he returns to the hotel Celia is mad at him for going to yell at her boss and slaps him before storming out of the room. James, instead of doing his job and following the woman he is supposed to protect, breaks into the mini bar and gets drunk. Celia goes to a bar and starts talking to a stranger, because of course, and allows him to drug her and take her to his house, where he explains that he hates her for thinking she deserves everything and that he is going to teach her a lesson before killing her.

When James wakes up and notices that Celia didn't sleep at the hotel, he gets worried, and calls Megan and then the secretary of the company. With just a couple of phone calls he finds out who the bad guy is and where he lives and arrives just as he is torturing Celia, cutting her face and arms. He declares his love to her and then proceeds to save her from the bad guy. After that, instead of getting angry at him for letting her go alone and get kidnapped and not doing his job, she is so grateful to him for rescuing her that she says she is going to quit ballet and be his girlfriend.

Most of the book makes little to no sense.

Colt

Lena Bradley's brother has gone missing and because of his past as an addict the police was not out to help find him. Her only hope was her brother's motorcycle gang, the Black Dragons. But would she be able to convince the leader of the MC to help her find Sid.

Colt was the leader of the Black Dragons MC. He wasn't too happy when Lena showed up at the club but when she told him about Sid missing. The man went out of his way to find him. Colt was intrigued by Lena and vice versa.

The more they got to know each other, the more they liked what they found out. Lena saw aside of Colt and the MC that many people don't know about. They gave in to their attraction for one another. Colt and Lena were very protective of each other.

Patrick

Patrick Turner was an ex-Navy SEAL and now CEO of a security firm. He was also a womanizer but on his 40th birthday he met the beautiful and intriguing Kayla . He couldn't seem to het her off his mind.

Kayla didn't know how she was going to keep going on after receiving the terrible news of her husband Daryl's demise. Then Patrick walked into her life and things started to look a little better each day.

Daryl's twin brother has been there for Kayla since his brother's death as well as her best-friend Megan. When Patrick asked Kay out, they were her soundboard. Loved how close the three of them were, and the attraction between Darren and Megan was undeniable.

As Kay and Patrick got closer, his past was lurking looking for an opportunity to harm him and those close to him. Kayla's husband's death didn't happened like they let her to believe and when the truth came out. A rift was created between her and Patrick but their loves was stronger.

Drake

James Drake, an ex-Navy SEAL who has hardened his heart after losing some many people close to him. He was tired of the war, he had one last thing to do before he could closed the door on that part of his life. He was to deliver a final letter to one of his fallen brothers' sister, Charlotte Thompson.

Charlotte Thompson, a school teacher who loved to travel on her vacation and a yoga lover. She lost her older brother, Eric to the war in Afghanistan, when one of his former SEAL brothers showed up in town with a final letter. She didn't expect for her life to get turned upside down like it did.

Charlotte's life was in danger with that new tidbit Drake made it his mission to look out for her and take care of the threat. Only things weren't as simple as that cause Charlotte became a target for something she had no knowledge about. Drake still had some demonsto deal with but being close to Charlotte soothed him.

When the enemy got his hands on Charlotte, Drake moved heaven and earth to bring her back to him. They were finally going on that date, they'd planned. Everything does happen for a reason.

Wade

Kara McKay was a pop star singing from Texas. She was the idol to millions of teenage girls worldwide, her tours have been sold out. But someone wanted her dead. Despite having bodyguards, a crazed man nearly harmed her after a concert. Luckily her man bodyguard was there to protect her.

Wade Daniels was an ex-military and ex Detroit homicide detective who now worked as a bodyguard was given his latest assignment which was to guard the new sensational pop star, Kara McKay. The first day on the job, he prevented a mad man from hurting her.

Wade and Kara became closer and the threat to her continued and so did a new threat that ended up at her sister's doorstep.

James

James Ansley, a former cop with a lot of excess baggage on his shoulder. He always destroyed everything thay was good in his life. He was assigned to be a ballerina named Celia Banks' bodyguard. He was just doing for the money but all that changed when he met his client.

Celia Banks, a ballerina who happened to be the most talented of the Sheldon troupe's performers was looking for a permanent place within the company as well as many of her fellow dancers. Celia rejected the teacher's advances, she thought the man was her friend but he had been reading their relationship wrong.

As the threats to Celia kept escalating, James did everything in his power to make sure she wasn't harm more than she already did. They came to respect and appreciate each other's company, they became smitten and gave into their feelings. The culprit was found and it turned out to be someone who had been closer to Celia than anyone thought.

IGNITE is a bundle of five Romantic Suspense Books of HEREOS IN LOVE by Glenna Sinclair. It was fascinating, thrilling, adventurous, beautiful with the right amount of suspense. 5++++

Hmmm...

I'm still trying to figure out why the first story in this collection has a decidedly English flare, with terms such as bonnet for the hood of a car, flat for apartment, chips for french fries, etc. I might have missed an explanation somewhere along the way, but the author is living in the USA, and the story takes place here so....????
I've read books by this author before but these had a different tone to them, I didn t research but perhaps they are older? I enjoyed them, they were quick summer reads within interesting personalities in the characters. I read on a kindle, which might be the issue, but spacing was messed up... You would think you were at the end of a paragraph, or signaling a change of view point, but it was just an error in spacing . A couple grammatical errors, her Instead of he, their instead of there, but they didn't really bother the story line. I 4th no it might have been speech to text created at th as and we all know how that can be!

I have been a great fan of Glenna Sinclair's Gray Wolf Security series. I downloaded this collection with the anticipation of reading more of the same compelling stories I had come to expect from Ms. Sinclair. I was sadly mistaken! I forced myself to get through two of the five books in this collection before I realized that there was absolutely no way I could read the other three if they were as poorly constructed as the first two. The first book, Colt, seemed as though it were written by a young teenager who had no realistic idea of what a drug-running motorcycle club was like. The H, who was president of the MC club, content to simply hold hands with the h who was, inexplicably, extremely uncomfortable to the point of appearing somewhat daft at the mere suggestion that she might see the bare chest of the H as he changes his shirt. The second book, Patrick, was like a bad accident that you come upon on the highway - you want to look away but sheer morbid curiosity keeps your eyes glued to it. I must confess that if this collection was my first exposure to this writer, you couldn't pay me enough to read other books from this writer in the future. Sincerely disappointed and if I could have given this collection a zero star rating, I would have.

Just so so... I enjoy reading Glenna Sinclair but these 5 books just fell flat for me. The change in plot or the conclusion of the different books just left me feeling like it was unfinished business. And prevented me from connecting with the characters. At times I thought that the stories just were incomplete. This was a consistent theme even though all the books were standalone. I'll keep reading Glenna and would suggest that no one lets this review dictate whether they try Glenna Sinclairs books.

Good and bad

I am pretty undecided about this collection all thee stories are pretty tame they are all fairly generic romances each with their own little twists but none particularly set you on fire or got the blood pumping and heart racing they were all just kind of ordinary. There was no fire definitely no hot sex and all left you feeling a bit deflated. Not the best series just plain and simple.

I just couldn't get into these books. I read the first one and part of the second. Just too simplistic and too unrealistic though the characters were good.
I liked her Gray Wolf Security series and really liked her Gray Wolf Texas series.
