When Rafael Borrero found his soul mate locked in a cage in the secret backroom of The Omega Auction, Colby DiCastro was everything that Rafe had been searching for: "a male wolf shifter who’s bigger, frame-wise, than your average Omega. Someone a little tougher, who can stand up for himself..."
He was also determined, headstrong, almost impossible to control and, now that Colby is due to deliver their first pup, all of the traits that make him perfect for Blood Valley Pack are driving his Alpha to the brink...
“Colby,” Rafe’s voice brooked no further argument. “You can bitch from now until you deliver but we are going. Now.”
“You seriously want me to ride twelve hundred miles in a shopping bag instead of waiting for the doctor?” I stared at Rafe in disbelief. “We’re fine here.”
“No,” he growled back. “What I want is your ass safe at the hospital in Wolfsrudel where Doc can deliver the baby, but you’re so fucking stubborn that you couldn’t give me that!”
“Rafe…”
Rafe looked up from the bag he was haphazardly stuffing my clothes into and stared at me, a suspicious glint in his eyes.
“Why are you so determined to stay here?” His jaw clenched visibly. “Is there something you want to tell me?”
“Huh? Like what?”
“I don’t know, Colby. You tell me.”
“I don’t know what you mean.” I stared at him, completely blindsided.
“Don’t you? First, you took off in direct violation of my instructions. Now, you don’t want to come home even though you may be in danger.” Rafe stopped packing and closed the suitcase much more carefully than necessary. “Was that what the note was supposed to mean? That you didn’t want me to come after you?” He sucked in a breath and his shoulders squared. “Because, if that’s what you want, I’ll respect it.” He took one near-menacing step toward me and brought himself to a stop with obvious effort. “After you deliver ...but the child stays with the pack.”
My heart plummeted into my stomach at the coldness in his voice as I gawked at him.
Fuck. My. Life.

Why do you have to be so cruel miss Rhodes? I really hate to see that Colby and Rafe’s baby gal has been born with complications. I understand that you want to extend the series and believe me I loveeee the series. But I’ve fallen in love with these two blood valley Pack MCs along the series and it’s so heartbreaking to see their child born with some medical issues. The storyline is decent and I love how Rafe tried to retrieve Colby and the baby gal from running away and how he secretly took care of his family. As far as the story and writing goes, I have nothing to complain but because of the fact that I hate the author was cruel to Colby and Rafe, I’m only giving this novel 3 stars. I really hope to see only happiness and HEAs in the next book. Rafe and Colby have more than earned their HEA and they deserve a perfect kid .. so next time, if you have already given a HEA to your characters, please don’t spoil it later.
This was a lovely, if not a tad angsty, follow up to Rafe and Colby’s initial story, Buyer Beware.
This one picks up in the midst of the events of the previous holiday story (A Solstice Eve to Remember) and follows Rafe and Colby through the end of Colby’s pregnancy.
Not everything is smooth sailing here, with Colby suffering a difficult, life-threatening delivery, and ultimately having a beautiful baby girl with special needs.
This story made my heart ache for Colby and Rafe, but their love and resilience shined through, wrapping their second story up in a happy and satisfying way.
I'm continuing to ignore the obvious editing errors.
Featuring Colby and Rafe from Buyer Beware, there is quite a bit of drama and suspense in this installment centering around first Colby's pregnancy and later their pup.
The cast of characters from the series are back, with some multiple POV, and there are even some new characters introduced as well.
I enjoyed the established couple, and that even though Colby and Rafe still have trust issues they eventually face them. I also liked that there was a bit more humor in this as well.
All in all I've enjoyed the series and hope there will be more to come.
I love reading this series. I have been impatiently waiting for this book. This was book 5 in the " Omega Auction" series. Colby DiCastro was everything that Rafe had been searching for. Colby is different than the other Omega's he is bigger stronger and doesn't take any B.S. from anyone. Colby is pregnant with his first pup and his Alpha Rafe the leader of Blood Valley Pack is driving him crazy. Rafe just wants Colby and the pup safe so when he tells him he can't go to the Winter Solstice he goes anyway. Turners out it's a good thing that he did go with Trevor who feels that it is something wrong with the pup so when he tells Colby that he is in labor he thinks nothing of it but Rafe insist that they leave and go to the hospital. This was a really good book and I loved the way that Rafe punished Colby and it was hot. This book also introduced some new character's and I am really hoping that Ms. Rhodes writes about Vlad the turkey shifter who was a male order bride for Harry's old uncle from Music to His Ears and Jackel or Bane who is the second in command of the Blood Valley Pack. Trevor was right something was wrong with the pup Leia and fearing for her safety Colby takes off with her. This was a really good book and I felt bad that Colby thought that Rafe would hurt his pup. This book was well written like the rest of the books in this series with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series. Ms. Rhodes please write about Vlad and Jackel?
Colby has a baby and acts like a ditz! Really. One the best things about this character is that he’s different from your classic omega. Well not anymore, I wanted to smack him upside the head more than a few times. Also, all problems are solved rather easily. Thankfully this was a short book. Once we get to a rescue the story is more focused and enjoyable to read. The baby itself was a pleasure and I look forward to more from this pup.
Oh I liked being able to see Colby and Rafe again. These two still have some trust issues to work out and I liked that Rafe made sure that they faced them. He doesn't skirt around or ignore issues in their relationship. He still adores Colby and loves him to distraction, he's also a bit over protective. Colby continues to impress me with his strengths and whit. The man is a smart ass. There is plenty of action and adventure as well as a bit of drama with Colby's giving birth. We get to see our heroes from the past books come together to help. Rafe's pack in particular shows us what wonderful guys they are. I have to say I LOVED Vlad's character. I hope we get to see he and Jackal get a book of their own. Adult read
3.5 stars? 3.2? I don't know. I have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand, it's littered with grammatical errors. This entire series is in dire need of a good editor. On the other hand, I was pretty stoked to revisit Colby and Rafe, since they're two of my favorites. I especially love their less-than-typical relationship dynamic.
To summarize without giving away key plot points, this book revisits Colby's insecurities in great depth. Despite being in a loving relationship with Rafe, who he knows would never hurt him in any way, Colby still has that voice in the back of his mind that says he can't trust anyone. With a new baby and a lot of insecurities, Colby makes some rash decisions that temporarily put him and his baby in danger.
The book itself was alright. Like I said, I really loved these two characters in particular, so I had no problems with a continuation of their story. The part that I disliked about this book was the really awful editing. There were tons of spelling and grammar mistakes. At one point, the author misspells her own Character's name. Colin was referred to as Colling, I believe. Spelling and grammar mistakes in a book are something I usually don't point out. The law of averages guarantees that all authors are going to have some spelling and grammar mistakes in their work and editors are going to overlook corrections that need to be made. It happens. But when the mistakes are so excessive that they're interrupting the story, I start to get a little peeved.
Regardless, I still liked the book. I'm in too deep with this series to stop now. And I absolutely adored Vlad. It's not everyday that you read about a slightly overweight, flamboyant, Russian Turkey shifter who identifies as a dragon. Mind. Blown.
Wow, was this a stressful read! There was a lot of very heavy stuff going on here. Traditionally births have been sweet, happy, lighthearted spots in the series. Not so this one! There is drama on top of drama. First of all, how many times can Rafe and Colby completely underestimate or completely fail to understand each other? The blurb makes you think that this will be the primary issue--and that type of thing is there in two big places in the book--but it's definitely not the biggest one. When is Colby going to catch a break? Crappy stuff happens to him all the time. And I felt that we all got hit with something really sad in this series entry. At least there was the sweet and funny new character of Vlad to bring some happiness to the book, but otherwise it was pretty grim. I'm just not happy with the way certain things worked out and had a hard time giving the book three stars because, while well written, I didn't enjoy it. I guess I just wasn't up for such a somber storyline in this direction. I also felt like it was weird that they brought up something at the end of the book and then just left it hanging. I assume it will be followed up on in the next story and maybe that is how the cast will expand.
I have to admit that I was a bit leary about this book. It didn't involve a new couple and, from the blurb, didn't seem to have much of anything to do with the omega auctions. While both of those statements were completely true, this story was beautiful and a little bit heartbreaking.
It was a bit of a surprise that Colby feared that Rafe would try to purge Leia, but maybe that was just supposed to be the hormones from his pregnancy talking. When it really counted, Colby knew that he could trust his alpha without fail.
Fans of the author's Alpha/Omega mpreg shifter stories will likely find this title to be more of the same - a very tiny bit rough (Blood Valley Pack are somewhat hard-riding bikers), somewhat sweet, and a fast-moving plot with quick danger and a quick HEA.
A short, simple, and sweet (gentle) biker shifter Alpha/Omega mpreg romance.
Colby and Rafe are my favorite pair. I'm so glad me got to see the birth of there little pup although it was very sad because of complications she was born blind and they could not communicate with her though their mind. But Vlad the turkey shifter is the only one who could communicate with her and helps Colby and Rafe. The turkey shifter pops in and makes a nice transition with a few humorous moments. I'm glade that Vlad found a home.
This was an epic journey with 17 books in the Omega Auction Chronicles (plus 4 shorts) and they are intertwined with the Omega Rescue and Blood Valley Investigations). They are definitely best read in order and worth it - very sexy, entertaining and fun.
I still have the Omega Destiny, International series to get through and looking forward to it.
I love how there is never a moment when Rafe doesn't accept his daughter. The whole pack is really supportive. I also love the new romance between Vlad and Jackal. They are an unlikely pair and yet they seem to be working out so well.
I feel like the resolution of the conflict could have been stronger. Too much angst for my taste. I don't like seeing my favourite couple struggling and sad.

My favorite couple- they really need to communicate better. They deal with enough crap in the work they do they don’t need stress between them and honestly they deserve better
I have really enjoyed this series, but the first book I read was actually Buyer Beware, and I always loved Rafe and Colby the most. They have been the most unique couple to me and returning to them for the birth of their first child was everything I could have hoped for!
First things first; make sure you read A Solstice Eve to Remember before this. While it was a fluff piece, this book begins from the end of that short story and it explains the new characters in our story.
I really love that the issues between Colby and Rafe have not been magically fixed. They have improved but these are two damaged people and the healing is takinga time.
Colby said at the end of Buyer Beware that he wanted to promise that he would never doubt himself or Rafe again, but he knew he would. Being treated as chattel and lower since he presented, he frequently doubts his worth. Being with Rafe has gone a long way towards healing that, but that self doubt is still there. We see that again in this book as he tries to work out being a father and protecting his new pup that he loves more than anything.
Rafe is a strong and kind alpha, but he has a surprising amount of self doubt himself. He has these times of worrying he is not good enough for Colby, that Colby is going to leave. This comes out again as their pup is on the way. What I loved is that his self doubt does not extend to his belief of being a good father for his pup. He has complete and unflinching love for his pup and will do anything to protect his mate and his child.
This series continues to touch my heart and I look forward to the next book of love and family!
I really loved this book. It's the second book about Rafe and Colby. Colby is still not certain of his place in the pack, but slowly he's getting there. His insecurities makes him run away again, this time he also takes his newborn baby with him. I loved the previous book about the pair, Buyer beware, but this book is so much better. The last two pages of the book is a very touching reminder of you should never judge anyone before you know the whole story of that person.
Oh Leia you sweet precious girl, you are going to give your daddies a run for their money. I can't wait to see her grow up and what is up with that facility?
